"When you think about nuclear fallout, what springs to mind? Wastelands of what-once-was, death and decay, perhaps...? We thought much the same; We never in our wildest dreams expected something to be created from the destruction. And yet here we are, watching the rise of an entirely new type of human borne from dormant mutations activated by the radiation - we called them ‘Varians’.
The varians survived and thrived in this newly ravaged world. Each varian was unique, some appearing no different to regular humans aside from the occasional set of horns or sharp teeth, others growing extra sets of arms, wings capable of flight (and some that were not) - even beaks, gills and entirely new bodies! The list of oddities was endless, but one thing became clear, varians had adapted to this new world, humans had not.
Many of the regular humans grew fearful of the varians and their new capabilities… or perhaps jealous. What started out as intrigue and hope for the future soon turned to fear… and eventually hatred. It soon became clear varians and humans weren't going to get along.
Humans persecuted the varians, called them 'freaks', ‘mutants’ or ‘mutts’. It didn’t take long for the tensions between humans and varians to explode into pogroms, and in the aftermath of the brutality, a varian emerged to unite their people - the army of the downtrodden - and declared war on the humans.
Once united, the varians proved to be an unstoppable force. Those that chose to fight were wiped out in a week, the rest of us fled into hiding. It is here in the depths of the dying forests that we reside now, waiting for opportunities to strike back, to reclaim the livelihoods taken from us by the varians. Whether we will actually succeed in the face of such an impressive enemy however, remains to be seen.."

Day 1: There is a meeting consisting of the varian leaders of different areas. It becomes apparent that many of the varians aren't happy with how the war is going, and one of the attendees even suggests entering negotiations to end the war. The leader, Awiagina, brushes off these concerns in a harsh manner, and the meeting ends with many of the attendees feeling disillusioned.
The second-in-command - Elias - resolves to leave and find the humans to start negotiating for peace. At this moment, a rift opens up, and a very waterlogged traveller is thrown out. Elias and the traveller talk for a moment and then set out together to find the human settlement. Night falls before they come across a crystal cave. They stumble across the human's camp in the cave, and are immediately met with hostility - Quynn being mistaken for a varian as well.
The human leader returns from a raid to discover that their old childhood friend is imprisoned smack bang in the middle of their camp. Thanks to Quynn's quick wit, Elias and Quynn are freed. Quynn realises that the crystals in the cave were once the kind that his people used. Since contaminated by the nuclear crisis, he realised they would most likely burn out after one use. He decides it is better than nothing, and fits his device with these new crystals, bids the varian and the human good luck and farewell, and is gone.
Day 2:After Elias and the human leader have taken a moment to catch up on each other's lives, they begin talks about the war. It becomes clear that there is only one course of action left to them; Awiagina had to be dethroned before peace could return. They make plans to confront Awiagina and the rest of the varians to pose the idea of a truce. With Elias on their side, it would give them a chance to be heard. They make preparations to leave.
[potential room for crossover here if anyone is interested]
Day 3:The humans confront the varian leader with the aid of the second-in-command. The human leader makes it clear they want peace, and the rest of the varians hesitate only slightly before lowering their guard. It becomes clear that only the varian leader really opposes the desire for peace, and they are begrudgingly forced to accept that they are no longer in charge. The rest of the humans and varians enter negotiations for a treaty to draw new borders and for their people so they can live in peace.

In this world of fantasy and magic, technology is on the rise. Some people wished to enhance their lives with fast newly developed technology, while others were not pleased with these changes preferring only magic. Due to the changes there was a rise of criminal activities by those against technology. Suddenly an increase of overpopulated prisons, jailbreaks, repeat offenders always running amok the towns and cities became all too common.
To solve this, the government last solution was to create a technology base prison that was inescapable. A huge modern tower dome surrounded by high walls is where the worst criminals are sent. Despite the outside of the tower having a beautiful, newly technological architecture, it holds the reputation of being a feared facility where people are exiled to and forced to go through unending penalties. This place is a prison known for its full dedication to all types of criminals, whether they are warriors, mages, witches, elves, orcs, dwarves, demons, or divine beings.
With so many dangerous people there are also caretakers at the prison with equal qualities and abilities. Although they are a small group they were given a solemn duty to watch over anyone who set foot there with pride. But it seems now the caretakers have their arms full.
With the one year anniversary of the prison a tour is held for the people on the outside to show the people the new technology held there. While preparing, a mysterious plant monster has infiltrated the prison and is spreading its seeds that are now controlling the prisoners. Being able to defeat the few prisoners that were roaming around everyone is caught by surprise when all the prison cells begin to open and all the prisoners are set free!
The caretakers make a tough decision of locking down their prison and becoming a quarantine location. Preventing the effected prisoners from going outside and spreading their seeds they ensured the safety of the towns and cities. The caretakers and guests must work together to keep the prisoners from escaping the prison and await the arrival of help from the outside. Will everyone survive while being smack dab in the middle of madness until help arrives or will they be defeated resulting in the world ending?
Day 1: The room goes through introductions to the prison, hosts, and the new technology. Everyone is goofing off and getting comfortable when suddenly there is an alert. The cook who makes the food is being controlled by what was supposed to be today’s salad. Try as they might to catch the effected chef. Everyone were not able to stop the chef from getting into the control room and unlocking all the cells. It lets off a seed bomb and soon a mob of prisoners are being controlled by the monster. They became pale with vines pulsing and attached on their bodies The guests are given a mission in defeating the parasitic plant monsters and protect the distress call system so it‘ll be able to send it‘s help signal. There will be small occasional post games and prizes going on. The first RNG mini boss battle shall be held by another thread. We await for the distress call system to load itself, which is at 30 percent.
Day 2: Focusing on mini plots. The second mini RNG boss battle shall be held by another thread. Everyone continues fighting and keeping the mysterious plant monster at bay. Vines cover the distress call system room prevent everyone from entering. Once everyone tries to destroy the vines and is able to clear them out. The distress call is now at 65 percent.
Day 3: After fighting for so long everyone is starting to wear down. Suddenly all the effected prisoners stop moving and began running into the same area. Following them the guests see the prisoner’s vines begin to combine with one another. As everyone watches in horror they were now faced with an oversize plant monster. It has been just as mindless as the individual effected prisoners, but 100 times more troublesome. Everyone tries to stop the monster from destroying the distress call system before it’s able to get to 100 percent.
EndingThe traveller used this opportunity to steal the crystal that power up the distress machine while everyone is distracted. Once seen, everyone tries to catch the traveller, but then he throws a power core explaining that they will be able to use that instead. They disappeared and the guests put the power core into the machine slowly and watch as the machine charges back up when suddenly it gets stuck at 45 percent and showing no signs of loading. Everyone freaks out and start pressing buttons on the machine. The machine suddenly jumps to 100 percent and a distress call is sent. An alarm going “Congratulations!” goes off.
Within moments the monster disbursed and became a little plant monster that ran to the warden. The warden explains that the monster and them had a bet that he'll be able to stop the guests from releasing the distress signal. If the monster had manage to stop them then he wouldn't have to stay in prison and be able to conquer the world. The warden used this opportunity to test everyone and see if they have what it takes to be new guards of the prison. This also angry the head guard and the boss prisoner who had no idea that the warden plans this, but the warden dismisses them saying they were becoming lazy with jobs so they decided to spice them up. They asked what would had happen if they actually failed but the warden laugh it off nervously.
The warden then passes out medals that show that the guests are now honorary workers of the prison. Everyone is confused yet happy as they are given their first mission as guards. Clean the prison.
After almost a century of people refusing to acknowledge the existence of global warming, its effects started to speed up, and it could no longer be denied. Despite this, the corporations that controlled the countries around the world refused to change their practices. However, it was not long before catastrophic droughts plagued much of the world, soon followed by extreme weather. Finally massive floods covered nearly all the land, as the the ice caps melted to nothing. Countries and their governments collapsed across the planet, and helpless land animals faced mass extinction. Many feared it would be the end of all life.
Although the world was faced with what appeared to be an apocalypse, they had the advantage of technology. Soon the extreme weather began to settle down, and floating cities sprang up where land had once been. The people that survived quickly adapted to this new world, and even thrived. Although people's diets now consisted of mainly marine based foods, nearly all ships had their own gardens to grow produce. The most popular alcoholic beverage in this new world is made from seaweed and called Nökkenvann, or nok for short.
Even before the new floating cities and the governments that accompanied them had begun to form, people took to ships and a grand new era of piracy began. Leaders of these new countries struggle to protect their citizens from the far stronger and much more well organized pirates that sail the endless sea. The pirates are currently lead by the ruthless Pirate Queen Hildr. The only force that can pose a real threat to the pirates is the goddess of the sea, Tiamat. In an attempt to undermine Tiamat, Queen Hildr was able to seize one of the goddess' treasure chests. In retaliation, Tiamat created a storm and rained her fury on the ship, causing such damage that Queen Hildr had to head to a large floating port city for repairs.
Day 1: The room opens with the Queen docking her ship at port for repairs. Tiamat had created a storm that caused damage to the ship, because the Queen and her crew found one of her treasure chests, and Tiamat was not happy about it. Everyone gathers at the pub or possibly other location at the port, and Gaians start arriving. Tiamat, in human form, also arrives and blends into the crowd. At some point the traveler appears and starts trying to convince people to help them find crystals. As we are pirates and do not share, this does not go over well. After a bit, Tiamat decides to eject the traveler from our world via portal. Near the end of the day, Poyudi's character takes notice of the treasure chest, and begins to show some interest in it.
Day 2: The Queen and her crew are still stranded at the port while waiting for the repairs to be completed. Poyudi beings to ask many questions about the chest, maybe even offers to help the Queen find a way to open it. Meanwhile, Tiamat is trying to figure out the best way to retrieve her chest without being noticed. For a while we will just have drunken pirate shenanigans, throwing in some of the games to entertain guests. The drinking concludes when Poyudi instigates a pub brawl and steals the chest in the confusion. Obviously, the Queen is very angry, and Tiamat offers to help her find Poyudi and the chest, all the while planning to take it for herself.
Day 3: Tiamat, the Queen, and any crew, look for Poyudi, enlisting the help of guests to aid them. Poyudi finds a portal that had not been closed, and escapes into the ice age world. Tiamat breaks away from the group and finds the open portal and follows Poyudi into the other world for a crossover. See spoiler for detailed crossover information:
Quote:
Crossover Bit - Ahh, My Goddess! A thief has stolen an artifact from the Pirate queen in the Global Warming world. They have escaped into Haven through a portal, and Tiamat has decided to follow. There is a confrontation with the goddess, as the people are distrustful of someone just appearing out of nowhere, but when it is discovered she is trying to track down a thief, the group agrees to help. As they search, it is discovered the thief has gone out of the safety of Haven and into the freezing wastes outside. The group, better equipped to deal with the frigid temperatures, venture out to stop the thief, and are able to recover the stolen artifact. As a result, Tiamat presents a gift to the people of Haven that helps them to better weather the current climate (be it an object that provides warmth for the caves, a spell to possibly make the area around Haven able to provide for the community, or whatever). The group is then able to breathe easier, as they see the possibility of surviving what has happened to their world.
During the crossover, we will continue to search for Poyudi, and possibly throw in more games and contests. In the end Tiamat gets her chest back somehow. The Queen is in a huff at not getting the treasure back, as Tiamat makes an excuse about having lost it between worlds. Poyudi gets the Queen to forgive him by offering her some other treasure, and everyone drinks and is merry as the ball ends.

Plot So Far...
Ice Age - Survival After Impact
Impact.
That's what the survivors called the event that lead to the death of billions across the planet.
The year is 2020, and the world we knew no longer exists. It was a freak asteroid impact that sealed humanity's fate. Astronomers had been studying the skies for decades, looking for asteroids on the scale that could wipe out life, but they missed one. Then again, considering how little of space we actually know, maybe it shouldn't be a surprise. Either way, they missed it until it was too late, on a trajectory course with Earth that left little time for anything but trying to escape the impact zone. When it did, it triggered seismic activity that led to numerous repercussions.
Like the ash that fell from the sky when Yellowstone erupted.
Like the sun being blotted from the sky for a year.
Like vegetation all over the world dying off as their main source of food and energy was no longer around.
Like animals dying in droves as the world suddenly went from plentiful to meager.
Like people across the globe suddenly finding themselves scrambling for the basic necessities.
Like governments trying and failing to control a panicking populace as shortages became commonplace.
Like people dying as starvation set in and the once-bountiful agriculture we became so dependent on suddenly couldn't keep up with demand.
This... This is the world now. We are a dying species, humanity, since literally we cannot support the population we used to have. I'm not sure of the current state of the world, as technology collapsed when the governments fell. Communication is virtually non-existent in this time. All I know is that to survive, we need to get to one of the only places that is still accepting refugees. The shelter known as Haven. From what I heard when the last bit of communication fell, it was located in the mountains, and was one of the few places that the government had managed to set up to save something of the world before.
It's the last place that probably has food and shelter.
We are headed there, to try and survive. We probably aren't the only ones, but it sure feels that way sometimes. Everyone else seemed to be in a mad dash to reach somewhere safe and abandoned the cities to go south. We, unfortunately, were unable to do so and now are forced to trek across the frozen wastes that we now call home to reach Haven. The asteroid changed us though, since some of us can do things that no one else could do. We're just using those gifts to help us out along the way.
We're nearly there though. I know we can make it.
I just wish that it wasn't so cold...
Timeline...
Day One - THIEVES! The two groups take stock of the supplies they have. The main group is able to note that they have enough to get to the sanctuary, but no more than that, as they haven't been able to scavenge much from the area around them. However, unbeknownst to them, they're not the only people in the area. A group of scavengers has also come, and are eyeing the supplies the main group has as they are running dangerously low. The Scavenger group plots to sneak into the main group's camp to steal the supplies they have. It seems everything for the main group is going smoothly. However, when they go to check supplies, they find them missing! Cue a mad search to find the culprits and get their supplies back. The scavengers have hidden nearby, figuring that they might be able to find out where this group is headed since they seem to be mobile and trying to reach a destination. Observing the group, they are discovered and an argument breaks out over the stolen supplies. When it's revealed that the main group is heading to Haven, a truce is called since neither group can survive for much longer out in the open and it's agreed that they can probably get there better as a group rather than separately. Day Two - The Traveler Cometh The group heads out and are discovered by someone searching for the source of the magic in the world now. Intrigued, the group decides to let him come with them to the shelter, which seems to be a strong signature of the magic. When they reach it, it's discovered that there is a fragment of the asteroid that hit the planet at Haven for study. This fragment seems to be what the man needs, and an agreement is reached to give it to the man in exchange for helping to get them to Haven (perhaps a teleport spell was in use here?). Day Three - Crossover Bit - Ahh, My Goddess! A thief has stolen an artefact from the Pirate queen in the Global Warming world. The group, better equipped to deal with the frigid temperatures, venture out to stop the thief, and are able to recover the stolen artefact.
City A, a wondrous place to live in, populated by species of all shapes and sizes with chaos found around every corner. For several decades, City A has been the leading area for best food, environment, and safety. As the location of the Hero Base, the city is overflowing with adored heroes who protect the city from all who'd wish to do it harm. Their only reason of existence being to upkeep the safety of the citizens, heroes work tirelessly to allow the people to go to bed at night, knowing they're safe in their beds.
However, all is not always what it seems.
In the deep, dark areas of the city, dwell the super villains, folks consumed by their ambition, willing to do almost anything to attain their goal even if it means trampling over others in the process. Again and again have villains risen from the nooks and crannies the government does not dare mention, and again and again have they plotted to destroy the world, take over the city, and steal lollipops from babies. Fortunately, they have had their dreams shattered by do-gooders employed by the government.
Emerging from a region where light does not reach, a new villain plots a most sinister plot. Her goal: To build a machine to break reality as we know it, and to gain ultimate power!
Will the heroes be able to team up and foil the plans of the villain in time, or will the villain succeed in her nefarious schemes to further her own ambitions?!
---
Day One: Everything is awesome. Our heroes are doing hero stuff like saving cats stuck in trees. But something's lurking in the shadows...and that something is Major Villain! Major Villain is plotting to create some sort of device that will amplify their powers causing what they believe to be a tear in the fabric of reality!
Day Two: Major Villain has a major breakthrough in their Break Reality Machine. Traveler appears in the city, attempts to ask for help from Superhero, but Superhero doesn't trust them. Evil Underling overhears conversation, decides to hook Traveler up with Major Villain. Traveler helps Major Villain with the device. Super Spy witnesses this and tells Superhero. Heroes go confront them, Major Villain tricks the heroes in using their powers to power their device. Traveler escapes, hell breaks lose.
Day Three: Possible crossover with Prison Room? (Or NPCs) A prisoner or two breaks through the rift and into our world. They cause some minor damage before being convinced to go back to their world.
Some Evil Being comes through the rift. Major Villain is able to strike some sort of deal with it. The deal is only temporary. Evil Being turns on Major Villain. Major Villain, along with Evil Underling flee to Heroes to ask for help.
Day Four: A common enemy unites everyone. Superhero leads a team to attack the Evil Being while Major Villain leads a team to close up the rift. Eventually they push the Evil Being back through the rift and seal it off.
