After spending the day at the market she was rather exhausted. So she'd asked someone where she could find the spa, hoping that some humidity would help her relax. Phaedra didn't know she'd gotten the wrong directions due to an Oban woman playing a cruel trick on her.

The brunette stretched her arms and gave a sigh of mild delight. Apart from a few strange people she ran across it was a fairly good day. When she got to the place the woman had told her to go she looked around. Phae thought it was a bit strange to have a spa in an area like this. Then again Oban cities were different from her own villages, so why not? The woman gave a shrug of her shoulders and headed inside. "Hello?" She called out politely. The interior didn't look like a spa she'd seen before. It was rather homey.

Phaedra continued on in thinking that the place would open up into a larger area. Her weapon was with her as it always was but she held it in a non threatening manner. Since she thought she was in a spa she was looking for a place to set her weapon.

Saraf was dragged from his thoughts as he heard a voice calling into the house, something that caused him to push to his feet, a displeased look on his face. Who was that? Not a voice that he knew, which was something that had him stalking toward the door, one hand hovering over the hilt of his weapon as he went. Best that he saw to whoever was here before his mother got to them as she was likely to invite them inside. He went down the hall that went from the courtyard to the front door and he found him fact to face with a Leaf Tribeswoman, one that had a trident in hand.

His eyes went a bit wide with surprise before they narrowed with anger, drawing his sword from its sheath, "How dare you invade my home, wench! State your business before I cut you down where you stand!" He had no idea who this woman was, all he knew was that she wasn't supposed be here. If his mother was having her over as a guest he'd of known about it, meaning she was at best a thief.

She heard movement and turned her attention toward where it was coming from. Phaedra smiled at the man that appeared. "Oh, hello! Where can I--- Oh Great Spirits!!" She had thought this was someone working at the spa but then he drew his weapon and she came up short. Stopping in her tracks she stared at him. Almost instantly her cheeks and tips of her ears colored. His.. His home!? "Uhm, I'm sorry I.. Wait.. Did you call me wench!?"

Phae looked insulted a little. "Some manners you have, Sir." The woman snorted a little. "I was told this place was a spa. I was hoping to spend an hour or so relaxing." Of course now she knew that the Oban woman had lied to her. But it wasn't her fault so she wasn't going to cower before this man. Even if he was muscled and... No! Phaedra just wasn't going to!

Leveling his weapon at the woman, "What need do I have for manners when dealing with a sneak thief?" He demanded of her. Why should be bother with anything in the way of manners in this sort of a situation? Motioning with his sword toward her trident he said, "Set the weapon aside, I would rather not spill blood in these hallways." His mother wouldn't be pleased even in the least bit of blood was shed inside. She would likely scold him in fact and that was the last thing that he wanted to deal with. Instead he meant to get rid of her as fast as possible, so his mother wouldn't notice. Hopefully she was still distracted with Elred and Floria.

"Excuse me?! A spa?" He hissed out, gritting his teeth slightly. Someone had told her that this was a spa? Giving a snort he said, "Then obviously you ticked someone off or else they wouldn't have sent you here of all places." It wasn't as though his distaste of the savages of the North wasn't well known so someone that had issues with the woman or perhaps the Leaf Tribe might have sent here here on purpose. At the same time it could just be a lie on her part to try to get herself out of trouble. She might be here to rob the place and just hadn't been aware that Saraf was going to be home today. If it was just his mother and the house pets that were present then it would have been easy for the Leaf woman to rob them.

It was due to the possibility of such trickery that he didn't yet lower his weapon.

A frown creased her brow as she listened to his words. A thief? Her? Phaedra would make a horrible thief. After all she'd called out a Hello when she entered. That would kind of defeat the purpose of trying to be sneaky.

When he told her to set her weapon aside she looked down at her trident then up at his sword that was still pointed at her. "I'd rather not while you have that pointed at me. Besides, if you are a skilled fighter then you know it's practically useless in enclosed areas." She lifted her empty hand to point at the hallway wall. There was nothing she could do with her trident save for try to pin him with it. Though that would require both hands and well.. Phae wasn't quite that stupid. Judging from the man's stance and general grumpy attitude he knew how to use his sword. Her eyes dropped to those muscles of his again. Yea, he had to do a lot of training or something. He did look good though. Now I know why Astae left my father for an Oban soldier. He must have been muscled. Her thoughts were going in a direction that was better left unspoken and well censored.

As he seemed to confirm what she had concluded not but a few seconds earlier she glared at him. Her eyes leaving those muscles to meet his eyes. "Yes, I know that. Now!" Not that she could think of what she'd done. Other than being a Leaf Tribeswoman. Which, it seemed, was enough in this area. "Think you could lower your weapon? And apologize for calling me a wench." Phae reached up and ran her hand through her hair.

Saraf gave a bit of a snort, "So you'll argue the point that you not knowing how to use your weapon correctly is your reason for not putting it down?" It was an interesting approach, making it seem as though she didn't know how to fight in closed quarters with her trident. Did he trust that? Was she acting like a weak little girl as a way to keep herself from getting run through? He supposed that it was possible? Not everyone had the same pride in themselves or their skills that Saraf had he thought to himself. There was a part of him, deep down, that couldn't but to be a little... amused.

"I will lower my weapon when you put yours down, again this is my house and therefore it's my duty to protect it from all invaders, especially those like you." Saraf said, shifting his body in a stance that showed he was ready to fight if it came to that, "As for the apologizing, I think not. You're a brainless twit that doesn't know the difference between a residence and a spa, not to mention you came in without knocking. I have nothing to apologize for but you've plenty."

So the man settled for insults? Phaedra gave him a dead pan stare. Clearly she was not amused. "I said it's practically useless. Practically. Apparently you're deaf." While she wasn't normally a spiteful person there was just something about this man that made her want to smack him.

Her grip on her trident tightened when he once again decided to insult her. Gritting her teeth she would narrow her eyes at the man. "Fine." Phae let go and dropped her weapon to the floor. It made a bit of noise in the process but once it was free from her hands she stepped toward Saraf. "Who knocks on the door to a spa? And how would I know what you people make your spas look like?" If he moved his blade toward her she'd lift her arm up to deflect it. Granted she didn't have armor but she had a sleeve and some leather wraps. It would prevent her from being cut too deeply. If he didn't react fast enough then she would more or less invade his personal space so that she could put her hands on her hips and glare up at him.

"I said I was sorry, deaf man. Now it's your turn for continuously insulting me. Apart from following directions from one of your vile women I've done nothing wrong! Certainly haven't posed a threat to you, have I? Or is it that you're afraid of a little leaf woman?" Phaedra would huff after speaking and simply wait to hear what he said.

Saraf's eyes narrowed, "Only half blind, not deaf." He said in a sarcastic fashion, taking a step forward in what he hoped would be an intimidating fashion. How annoying were these Northerners? All of the ones he met just rubbed him the wrong way, but then again that could be said for both genders he supposed. There was only one that he'd ever met that wasn't frustrating, but even he'd ended up annoying Saraf in the end.

"You're obviously thick headed if you think this place is a spa! They are big, open air places, crowded ones, it's not going to be found in the middle of a residental area!" He said, wondering if she was that dumb? Here he'd told himself that he wanted to try to get on a bit better with the Northerners, not because he wanted to be friends but because he'd need to be amiable if he meant to become General one day. This one was obviously sent by Nerad, King of the Gods, to test him and his patience to their lmit through the stupidity of the Leaf Girl.

Giving a hiss, teeth gritting slightly, "Ffff... By Nerad's beard... I swear you're a grand annoyance at best, woman." He said, taking another step forward... when he heard a throat clearing. Turning to look over his shoulder he found his mother standing there and he gave a sigh, "Mother."

The woman looked far too young to be a mother to someone Saraf's age, but then again she'd always seemed quite young. Something that gave Saraf a lot to worry about when it came to everyone. Giving the pair a glance between Saraf and the woman before she said, "How about the two of you stop battling in the entrance way, please? I am sure we can talk this over." Said in a way that Saraf couldn't ignore as she sighed and sheathed his weapon. Shaking her head she said, "Seriously Saraf, carrying a weapon in the house?"

"Well that does explain the eye." Phae tilted her head a little but didn't back down from him. When he stepped closer to her she met him step for step, of course that put her an inch from him. Now, she was amused. Giving him a smile she'd chuckle a bit. "A Grand annoyance. Hmn, well, as long as I'm Grand I guess I can accept that." Then she heard the clearing of a throat and she leaned to the side to peer around the man.

Seeing the woman there she smiled at her and stepped more into view so that she could fully address her. Knowing that this was the man's mother, and that his name was Saraf, she smiled as demurely as she could. "Hello ma'am. I do apologize. Your son was just defending your home from little me." Phaedra gave the man a glance and a smirk before she reached up and patted him on the chest. Then she was walking toward the woman so that she could bow her head a little embarrassed. "I fear I am the victim of someone's cruel trick. They told me this place was a spa."

Gritting his teeth a bit he Saraf lifted a hand up to brush his index finger against his scar before he said in a none of friendly manner, "Don't speak of things that you don't understand, woman. It's going to make you seem dumber then you already do." He said, then gave a sighing sound as the woman said that she'd accept being an annoyance if she was also seen as 'grand'. It actually caused him to sigh, feeling a bit of a headache threatening. He couldn't help but to be happy over the appearance of his mother as he was certain if he was near to her too long that he'd end up just as dumb.

Turning to his mother Saraf did his best to refrain from knocking the Leaf woman's hand away as he said, "Since she knows now that this isn't a spa I am sure that she will be heading out." He could only hope that the woman would get the hint and just leave. This wasn't a spa meaning that she needed to get lost.

Emi looked between the two of them, "I... see... so she's lost? Do you think we should help her find the spa?" A question that had Saraf groaning.

Phaedra ducked her head a bit more when the woman seemed to ask if they should help her find the real spa. "I think I've upset your son." Though she did feel bad for what she did. If she had paid more attention and followed her gut she wouldn't have ended up in this woman's home. "I have shown very bad manners in just walking into your house Ma'am. Would you allow me to make it up to you?" Despite knowing that she was likely being glared at by the man behind her she waited on his mother to answer.

Of course it would also be just deserts if she could stick around and annoy the hell out of Saraf a bit more. He'd insulted her more than was actually necessary.

Emi opened up her mouth to answer but Saraf lifted a hand to wave at the Leaf woman in a dismissing manner, "If you want to make it up to us then you will just leave this place the same way you came." He said, his eyes narrowed. He didn't want her in his place, didn't want her near his mother. He didn't trust her and felt that all she was going to do was take advantage of a woman who was too sweet and naive for her own good, "Just go, I am sure you will find the spa with time."

"Saraf, how about you show her where it is? It's not that far from here after all." Emi suggested, giving her son a smile before she turned her head to look over at Phaedra, "Please don't mind my son, he's a good son, but a protective one."

"I have good reason, mother. I am sure she will be fine and be able to find her way." Alright he really didn't think that, feeling the woman wasn't too smart, but he wouldn't tell his mother that. If she thought the girl was that dull witted then she'd make sure that Saraf escorted her, not something he wanted to deal with for even a moment.

She turned her head to look back at Saraf. Well she couldn't say that she blamed him. Still Phaedra found she didn't want to leave simply because he wanted her to. "I was going to offer to cook for your mother. It's a hobby of mine. I'm actually quite good at it."

Feeling that there was no way he was going to let her make food for him or his mother she walked back to collect her trident from the floor. "Though if it's no trouble, I would like an escort. I'd hate to make another mistake." She batted her lashes at Saraf then smiled at his mother.

"Would you mind if I borrowed Saraf for a short time? I don't want to take him away if he is needed here."

Saraf went completely stockstill, his eyes going a bit wide eyed as the woman was suddenly saying something about cooking for his mother. It was something that almost instantly enraged him just thinking about it. She wanted to get into his kitchen near to their food and sharp impliments? Not on his watch... turning to look at his mother he said, "I will bring her to the spa." He said, stalking forward before he caught hold of Phae's arm, dragging her out the front door.

"Lock the door behind us, Mother, so nobody else can just wander in." He wasn't the sort that wanted to help a member of the Leaf Tribe, but better escorting her then having her get close to his mother. He didn't trust this one any where near his mother. Once they were outside he released her and said, "Start walking. I will show you where the spa is but that is the extent of my kindness, woman."

Her smile faultered only a little when he grabbed her arm. Phaedra gave small wave to his mother as he was walking her out. "It was nice to meet you." Then once they were out the door and out of sight of his mother she turned a glare on Saraf. With him letting go of her arm she simply brought it up to hit him with a right hook. "Learn some manners!"

Phae would huff in frustration. "Spirits above! I told you how I ended up in your house and you still insist on treating me rudely." Things had become so.. complicated lately. Still feeling angry with the Oban man she aimed a fierce kick at his shins. "Ugh! I hope the Oban soldiers treat women better than you do or so help me..." Now she just wanted to rant. The woman she had thought was her mother, who had given birth to her half sisters, had left her father for an Oban soldier. If he treated her or Phae's sisters anything like what Saraf did to Phae then she'd likely end up pissed.
