He thought he would have been able to test out his magic, to try and call Valkyrie again, but nothing ever worked and she has yet to return to him.
Valhalla coughed harshly as he leaned against a tree, grasping tightly to the pocket watch that housed the ethereal eagle. Or used to. No matter how much he tried to get her to come out, she wouldn't, and his chest burned painfully with the effort of taping into his magic.
His knees hit the ground before he realized he wasn't able to hold himself up, and he was tempted to release his transformation, but a snapping of a twig nearby alerted him to the presence of someone else, although he was unable to tell whether or not it was someone who intended him harm, since he could still not feel auras.
His heart pounded in his chest, suddenly aware of how dangerous this situation was. In the state he was currently in, he could easily be killed. And unlike the time he ran into Cinnabar, he had nothing with which to bargain. baby_gwing Let me know if I need to change anything! Thank you!

Amethyst was combing the park for targets to drain energy from when he felt it. The Order aura that belonged to a Knight. Something seemed off to the Captain though since this Knight didn't seem to be interested in coming over to check on him. Deciding that he would initiate contact with the other person instead, he started making his way across the lightly forested area towards where the Order signature was coming from without bothering to be stealthy about it since he figured that the Knight should be able to sense him coming any way.
It wasn't long till he spotted a familiar figure in the distance. Dark green nordic attire with a brown cape atop broad athletic shoulders. Valhalla? The Knight looked distressed, in pain even though he couldn't see any obvious physical injuries compared to the last time he saw him. Teleporting over, he tried to sling his arms beneath Valhalla's armpits to help to keep him upright in lieu of his failing strength from whatever was ailing the Knight, murmuring a soft greeting since the last thing the both of them needed right now was for Valhalla to mistake his intent and start attacking him when he was only trying to ease him slowly to the ground and lean him back against the tree trunk till he found out what was wrong with him.
"It's ok. It's me. Amethyst. I'm not going to hurt you."
Guine Looks great to me! Thanks for starting this! <3

Despite the reassurance that the Captain wasn’t going to hurt him, Valhalla still tried to struggle away for a few moments as Amethyst helped him to sit back against the tree. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the strength to really put up a fight at the moment, and instead clutched at his chest through the armor that was supposed to protect him.
“Amethyst?” he repeated in surprise, remembering the Captain from just a couple years ago. He’d been one of the very few who had offered him assistance, with promise to help Ganymede and others as well. Valhalla opened his mouth to say something else, but whatever it was ended up being cut off by another round of coughing.
It would be easy for any Negaverse officer to bring him in for corruption or to kill him. Valhalla was mad at himself that it took this long to realize how right Ganymede and so many others were in warning him that it would not be wise for him to go out on his own while he was like this.
“I’m fine,” he wheezed, probably very unconvincingly as he stared up at the Captain, unable to hide the fear in his eyes, despite their previous encounter. “My starseed was damaged,” he explained softly before he could be asked what was wrong. “Over a year ago. I was trying to recall some of my magic to see if that would help slow…” but he didn’t continue and instead grimaced at the thought of trying to slow his inevitable death.

Despite Amethyst's attempt at reassuring Valhalla that he meant him no harm, the unmistakeable tension in the Knight's shoulders as he helped him settle back against the tree told the Captain that the Knight thought otherwise and so he decided to back off a little to give him some space.
"Yes. I'm not sure how much you remember from back then since you were very sick from a wound infection. But I'm glad to see that you made it out alive. I trust that Ganymede too is alive and well?" He recounted, hoping that his account would help to jog the Knight's memory some although he wasn't hopeful that Valhalla would remember much considering the critical state he was in back then.
Staying put where he was, he looked over the obviously ailing Knight with concern even as the other man tried to convince him that he was alright. "Damaged? How did that happen?" He knew that a starseed was akin to a person's soul and that people could die from its removal. What he couldn't reconcile with at the moment was how exactly a person's soul could be damaged and what that would do to him.
"Are you going to be alright?"

It was stupid what he was doing, he knew. But he was desperate. He wanted to try anything and everything before admitting defeat.
He could vaguely remember what happened before, the time when they’d been kidnapped by the Negaverse from the New Year’s party, kept and tortured and some even turned into youma. Others killed. Whatever the Negaverse gained from that time, Valhalla didn’t know, but it made him more wary of them.
“I was almost corrupted. Ganymede stopped Laurelite’s attempt,” he explained, still rubbing at his chest as he tried to catch his breath. “I’ll be okay. I just have to figure out a way to fix it.”
One way or another, he was going to find a way to get better. He had too much he wanted to live for to give up now.
“Are you okay? You didn’t get into trouble for helping us? And yeah, Ganymede is fine…” Or at least as fine as she could be, everything considered. “I don’t want you risking yourself if it’s going to cause you problems to help me,” he said quietly, knowing it might end up meaning Amethyst would just finish him off, but he liked to believe that Amethyst was better than that and really was sincere about wanting to help him and others.

"When was this? Was it back when you were taken from the New Year's party or way before?"
Amethyst watched Valhalla closely as the knight rubbed at his chest, trying to decide if he needed to reach for some of the medication that he carried with him to help relieve the other man's symptoms. What Valhalla had just related to him was both frightful and terrible. To have to pass each day without knowing if it was going to be his last or what he could do to slow or reverse the process was something that he would never ever wish upon anyone.
"I see. Have you found a remedy or cure for it then?" At Valhalla's concern that he might be in trouble for being spotted aiding instead of maiming, killing or corrupting him, Amethyst stretched out a hand to pat at his shoulder with a smile. "I'll be fine. No one else is here so you don't have to worry."
It wasn't in his nature to kick someone while they were down. If anyone saw this and decided to report him to a general or general sovereign, he could easily write it off as him trying to befriend the knight to acquire some information from him. At this point, he genuinely wanted to aid the ailing knight regardless of whether his help would be seen as a welcomed gesture or not.
"Is there anything that I can get you? Some water maybe? Or one of your senshi or knight friends who can help to make sure that you'll get home safe?"

Valhalla offered a weak smile to the Captain as he offered his help, feeling guilty for dragging someone nice like Amethyst into everything. He didn’t want him getting in trouble, even though the other didn’t seem too concerned.
"After that," he admitted. It hadn’t been too long, but longer than he’d liked. "I’m still trying to figure out how to fix it. That’s why I’m out here," he explained, although he really didn’t know what he was going to accomplish aside from putting himself in danger. In retrospect, this was probably a bad idea, but he didn’t know what else to do.
"I’ll be okay, but thank you," he said softly to Amethyst, watching the other curiously. It wasn’t every day that he met people in the negaverse who seemed to care as much as Amethyst did.
"I don’t mean to offend you, but… you don’t really seem suited for the negaverse, you know," Valhalla said, his hand lowering from his chest as he tried to draw in a deeper breath to steady himself. "Are you there because it’s your only choice?"

"I... don't think I'm following. How does being out here all by yourself help you in figuring out a solution?"
Amethyst frowned. It was a good thing that Valhalla ran into him here today instead of one of the officers from the Spec-Ops branch who would take advantage of his currently weakened state to drag him to the Rift and use whatever means necessary to milk him for information that could be used against his knight and senshi friends.
In any case, it was a little too open out here so it'll probably be best that they stayed alert lest someone else from the Negaverse chanced upon the both of them and did something to complicate matters.
"Anytime." A brow was quirked at Valhalla's remark though it was soon obvious that it was more out of curiosity and no offence was taken at all by the blond Captain. "... is that so? Would you mind... elaborating a little more on that?"
He wore a wistful expression on his face as he recounted the event that led to his corruption.
"I was asked to join the Negaverse after I won a marathon a couple of years back. I didn't know about knights or senshis at all back then."

Valhalla offered Amethyst a weak smile when the other frowned, knowing that what he was saying, and doing, didn’t make much sense. But Valhalla was stubborn and determined and didn’t want to burden others, so this was the best chance he had. He knew he probably should be asking for help, but he didn’t want people worrying needlessly over him.
"You’re not like many of the others," Valhalla explained quietly. "You can tell when chaos takes hold of peoples’ hearts. It makes them do horrible things. I don’t believe that the people in the Negaverse are bad, but whatever Metallia is doing to put chaos inside people…"
He trailed off after that, not entirely sure how to explain himself, but he was convinced that this man in front of him would have been better as just a doctor, or even a knight if the cosmos would have it that way.
"Why did you join the Negaverse?" he asked quietly, curiously, his voice not judging or harsh, just merely wondering what convinces people to join a faction that focused on stealing energy and starseeds.
