It was quite the lazy afternoon and Priscilla Stratford intended on keeping the rest of the day in the same fashion. Pepto pink flats gently tapped against the wrought iron arm of the park bench as her fingers nimbly continued to peel away the foil around the chocolate Hershey Kiss. Casting aside the fragments of silver and the sliver of paper, she popped the chocolate piece into her mouth and hummed softly to herself, savoring the flavor.

A scream let out several yards away, followed by peals of laughter. Children had gathered and begun monkeying about on the park's large playground, their mothers busy talking among themselves on a nearby bench. No one seemed to notice or care about the pinkette lounging there, which was fine with her. She idly wondered how long it would take one of the gossiping mothers to notice if a child went missing, with how distracted the women appeared to be with their scandalous talking.

Ah, well. Prissy preferred keeping a bench to herself, so she sat across it, legs on one end while her back rested on the other. She was on her fifth Kiss so far, eyes wandering from the playground to the nearby pretzel cart vendor. The smell of salty dough wasn't unappealing... now had it been a hot dog cart, that might have been another situation entirely.

There had been sightings of monsters in this park. She had read about them on someone’s blog…of course the blog hadn’t had any updates for over two years, but still. It was clearly up to her. Up to Lynette McCardle to figure out just what had happened both to the blogger, and to the monsters that had been seen. Maybe it was bigfoot, maybe it was something else…the Destiny City Devil or something. Something cool. Something edgy.

She was in a bush. Hiding. Watching the children climb over the playground like small little ants. Squishable children…or…were they? Perhaps these children were just a ruse. Perhaps they weren’t as innocent as they seemed to be. The laughter and screams could be the unknown language of a monster waiting to rip out the throat of an unsuspecting victim.

Lynette felt her pupils dilate, or at least she liked to think that’s what was happening, though something else happened at that moment.

A smell assaulted her nose and all thoughts of children, of screams, of monsters and of blogs were gone. All thoughts of everything were gone, and suddenly she was on a bench, sitting atop of a pink haired girls legs, stairing at her through her thick glasses.

“Is that chocolate. May I have some. I love chocolate.” She didn’t ask a single question.

If you were a dollar short, I am about 300 dollars short...but I finally found the character, and I have to say...I love her.

Her head jerked at the inquiry (or statement? rambling?), Priscilla nearly toppling off the bench out of sheer surprise by the sudden voice appearing over her shoulder. The chocolate Kiss that had been savored was nearly choked on, the sweetness dissolving into spit as she did her best to swallow.

"Excuse you?"

It took her a moment to process the other girl's words, pink eyes searching around to see if this thing belonged to any other group loitering the park. Her attire was about as bizarre as her approach, but the magenta haired girl didn't seem to mind that she was both bothering and alarming to be around.

"Chocolate? You want my chocolate?"

The bag of Kisses in her lap was remembered, the pinkette giving the package a gentle shake. Who was this chick?

“Yes I do. Chocolate is my favorite you see.” Lynette gazed into the pink eyes of Priscilla and tilted her head to the side. “Only a monster would refuse to share chocolate. But you don’t look like a monster, therefore I would think you would willingly share it with me, since it is my favorite and you look like a very nice person.”

Perhaps, just perhaps the two of them could go monster hunting. After all, it was the act of sharing which built friendships. The act of sharing which formed bonds greater than that of anything else on earth.

“I have a blog. I’m looking for everything around this city that’s strange. Do you think any of these screaming children might be a monster in disguise?” She hadn’t moved from her spot atop the Pinkette’s legs, and in fact, simply adjusted her position to get more comfortable, one hand reaching ever so slightly for the bag of kisses.

Slackjawed, it wasn't until the girl adjusted to her newly commandeered seat, that it finally dawned on Prissy that her legs were currently being used as a cushion. Jerking both feet out from beneath the stranger, all she could do was stare curiously at the girl as the teenager moved to pluck the chocolate from Prissy's lap.

"Monsters? Children.... what?"

Her head turned, glancing towards the screaming kids that was presumably the target of the conversation. They still danced and flailed about on the park's playground while their mothers chattered nearby. Who was this chick and what was she raving about?

It was too late when the pinkette finally realized that the girl had gotten hold of some of her Kisses, but even with her chocolate being stolen, Prissy was still far too weirded out to snap at the girl.

"I don't think you have very far to look if you're trying to find something strange, sweetie," she scoffed softly.

Lynette gave a disgruntled noise when her comfortable perch was suddenly gone, but at least now she had a good fistful of chocolates instead. She quickly unwrapped two and plopped them into her mouth before answering, though the pink haired girls words made her pause.

“Ah so you admit you are strange, but you had chocolate, so I’ll overlook that for now.” But only for now. She pursed her lips, letting the tip of the chocolate kiss hang out just a bit and focused her attention on the kids running around again.

“I think you and I should start meeting no less than once a week to watch this place. Who knows. We might find out the real mystery of all of the monster sightings in this city. That’s something I’m highly interested in. But you’ll be in charge of bringing the snacks, make sure it’s always chocolate though okay? I really am fond of chocolate. But with time, I am sure I could become fond of you too.”

"Wait...I didn't mean...wha..."

Her words trailed off in her throat as her legs swung over the edge of the bench. There didn't seem to be a point in arguing with this demented little magenta-head, even though she seemed somewhat sated with the stolen bits of chocolate. To the point where she appeared to be demanding that Prissy bring her more at a later date? Excuse her?

It finally dawned on her, the stranger's request for weekly meetings.

"I don't even know your name and you want to meet up with me once a week? What are you, the missing part of the Scooby Doo Gang or something?"

Lynette swallowed the goopy mass of the four kisses that she had shoved into her mouth at once and grinned, her teeth half covered in the chocolate. “Names aren’t important. In fact, names are awful, and powerful, you should most likely only tell your name to those you trust beyond words, so for now, we’ll just use code names.”

Her hand slowly reached for another piece of the chocolate. “I will be...Chocolate Lover, and you will be Chocolate Giver. We are connected now, you see. Connected by chocolate. Chocolate bonds run very, very deep.”

The light was hitting her glasses at just the right angle to completely obscure her eyes, and she looked a bit mad.

Hell, she was a bit mad.

"Chocolate Giver."

The expression she gave the nameless stranger (or rather, Chocolate Lover) was deadpanned at best. She watched with mild disgust as the girl chewed the chocolates carelessly, showing off every one of the four in a mushed, brown, chocolate mess against her otherwise white teeth. Combined with her overly large glasses, she looked downright terrifying, as if she were a humanoid youma brought forth from the Rift itself.

"Do you just...go around taking candy from strangers? How do you know someone won't just shove you into their van?"

If it weren't for the utter boredom she'd been experiencing throughout the morning, she might have shot up from the bench and stalked off in a huff, but morbid curiosity kept her in her seat, dragging out details from the deranged young woman.

“Why, do you have a van? If you have a van we could get equipment, and we could become the new Scooby Gang, if you wanted, Chocolate Giver.”

Lynette was quite pleased that the girl had taken so well to her new code name, perhaps the two of them would become close enough one day to share their real names, but that wouldn’t be for a long while.

She got to her feet in a very fluid motion, hardly even seeming to move. Or something. She though she got up fluidly, at least. The rest of the kisses were in her hand before she knew what was going on and she swiftly held them to her chest. “I think, perhaps we should part ways now, Chocolate Giver. But, but. We will meet here again, and you will bring chocolate, and I will bring my camera.”

Out of her pocket, the purple haired girl drew a small business card and slipped it into the Pinkette’s hand. “This is my information. My blog. Look me you, you’ll understand everything then, you’ll understand it all. Together, Chocolate Giver, you and I will change the world.”

Lynette tilted her head down, giving a slow, deliberate wink, then turned, walking away, holding her stolen bag of chocolates close to her chest. Yes. This was perfect. So perfect. Having a partner was just what she needed.

Her brain was still doing its best to digest what Chocolate Lover was saying and compute an appropriately sassy response in return when all of a sudden, she was gone. She'd made comments about creating a gang of weirdos, dropped a card off and worst of all, stolen her chocolate.

It was like being in a hit and run, only she wasn't sure what on Earth she'd been hit by.

Glancing in the direction where the stranger had exited, she watched in helpless confusion as the girl continued her awkward shuffle off into the distance, the bag of chocolate Kisses still clutched in hand.
