Caron was out looking for something to spark his interest, something to start a study on. He loved history so much, it was his thing, and he hadn't heard from Dia in a long time so it seemed he was own his own. He decided to head outside and see if he could find a statue or something in the park near the school. Caron just needed something to get him going again, not seeing his friend and crush again, had hurt Caron. He wondered why she had never contacted him again and seemed to be ignoring his phone calls too, but such was life, it seemed the pretty litch was rejecting him and there was nothing he could do to stop her. Caron found a statue of a female demon, he looked curiously at it and the information written on the plaque.

As usual Cuileann was wandering about the campus grounds with her nose stuck in a book, any book would do as long as it was readable. She craved the knowledge she obtained from reading the pages, often wondering all the aspects of how, why, who, when and where if those answers were not given in the text.
She rarely paid attention to where she was walking regardless if she had a book or not, she was not rude just being herself. She preferred books to socializing unless it was school related then she was all for it. Not really one to have a lot of friends she would walk and read enjoying the freedom the book and walk gave.
When she left her dorm she turned towards the park which was one of her usual routes, she often walked the paths while reading, enjoying the clean air and hearing the sounds of the animals even though she was engrossed in her book. It made the book come alive in her hands so to speak.
As she was walking she took a path she knew well and kept on reading when she stumbled over something lying in the pathway. She fell to her knees with a small gasp and "Owwww". She dropped her book and reached out to rub her foot when she saw someone standing next to a statue not to far away from her. "Great, I make a fool of myself and someone is nearby" embarassment crept over her and her face felt heated. She sat there for a moment deciding what to do next.W/C 266

Caron frowned when he saw the dryad trip over a toy he hadn't noticed in the walkway, Caron felt bad he should have noticed it and moved the toy before someone had gotten hurt. He had been so self-absorbed that he hadn't noticed. He hurried over and said. "Oh I'm so sorry are you ok??" Caron rubbed the back of his neck looking at toy trying to figure out what it was. It likely belonged to a freshling from the school. Caron wasn't thinking that she was a fool, he was the real fool pouting over a girl that never called him back.

Still feeling embarassed Cuileann lifted her head towards the voice and squinted a little. Standing before her was red and white wings. That was all she could see and they were exquisite and beautiful. Opening her eyes wider she noticed that he was rubbing his neck as if either it hurt or he was unsure. His tone of voice sounded concerned but distracted as if something was on his mind.
Following his line of sight she noticed a small toy lying just off to the side of the pathway and realization set in this was what she tripped on. Not knowing why she giggled then it happened she snort laughed. Instead of freezing like usual she kept on giggling then finally found her voice and said "I am okay, what I get for pressing my nose to far in my book!" and proceeded to laugh again.WC 146

Caron was bundled up since he didn't do well with cold weather, being a fey, he fluttered his wings nervously. Hoping the dryad wasn't hurt. Caron laughed and offered the dryad his hand to help them up. "I'm Caron, and there is nothing wrong with having your nose in a book." He said cheerfully "I normally keep mine in history books, though I tend to sit down to read them not walk around the park." Caron said in a jovial tone. He waited hoping they would feel more comfortable with the little ice breaker, Caron could use some more friends.

Cuileann nodded and accepted his hand to be helped up. "Nice to meet you Caron, I am Cuileann, I agree I know I shouldn't walk around and read but I can't help it." As she stood up she noticed his wings were fluttering, it was so pretty. Realizing now how chilly it was, she shivered a bit before saying "History books?" "You like to read?" she asked in a happy tone. "I am a literature major, I read anything I can find." with that she blushed a bit. "Although I would love to have majored in history as well, love to read anything in regards to government among the races. I find it intriguing."
She was not used to socializing with others outside of class, she felt inept and at ease at the same time. Why? She had no clue. Hoping this conversation continued she looked around awaiting his reply. WC 150

Caron smiled and said. "Nice to meet you Cuileann." He chuckled and said. "Yea I can understand that learning is a wonderful thing." Caron wanted to learn all he could about history. Caron nodded and said. "Yes, I'm a history major, I miss want to write a book someday a complete history of the Above and Bellow, bridge the gaps in the history, perhaps go on some digs to discover what we might be missing about the ancestors of the Above and Bellow." Caron blushed when he realized he was rambling. "Sorry about that I get carried away with history."

Cuileann was amazed, the one person she finally talks to outside of class and they are passionate about history as she is about literature.
Curious as to what he would do on a dig she decided to ask. "A dig? I read some books on that and was curious as to all the background details the book did not explore. I would like to know more if you wouldn't mind telling me." she said earnestly. "I usually do my class work and go back to my dorm to read and work on my thesis, not sure if you can tell I don't usually socialize outside of school" sighing as she said that. WC: 112

Caron smiled brightly that Cuileann was interested in history too, or well perhaps anything she read in a book, but hey she wanted to talk about what he wanted to talk about and that was nice. "I doubt I'll be able to go on one till senior year, but a dig is a lot of careful delicate work, digging is slow, so the objects aren't destroyed. There have been many treasure hunter digs that sell to some museums for money, that history so much history because they are in a rush to get to their pay day." Caron smiled "So what is it like being a literature major, do you plan to write?"

I don't understand how anyone can not understand the importance of our heritage, each race has a rich history and that should be preserved and told for the future generations. To those who take on digs to become rich should be ashamed of themselves!" taking a breath she continued. "I would love to write one day, I find so many subjects interesting it would be hard to narrow down what to write about. Although I find familiars a good source of inspiration to use for stories."] her words tumbled out. Loking around at anything but him she tried to stop the rambling in her mind but was unsuccessful. Caron shrugged "I guess to them money is more important than knowledge, I want to write history books, perhaps do some teaching, so I don't plan on being a millionaire, but that never mattered to me." Caron nodded "Learning what life was like before our time, yes that is far more important than money to me." Caron smiled and asked "What sorts of familiars do you like??" Caron smiled thinking of his little flitterrat that he had back at his dorm. "I only have one he's a flitterrat that I found at a winter festival." Caron had a love hate thing about winter, his birthday was in winter, but being a fey being cold was a pain in the butt.

"I agree history is more important then money, knowledge is worth more then mere money. Don't get me wrong money is nice but then again so is obtaining knowledge knowing why, how, who, when and where. It is one of the reasons I adore books, any kind regardless of subject matter. I can obtain knowledge and use it in my daily routine".
Looking around she picked up her book and lovingly ran her hand down the spine, "Nothing like the smell of pages in a book, that smell it is intoxicating" she said with a small smile. Cradling it she stood fully up and thought about her familiars she had back in her dorm awaiting her arrival. "To be honest I like all the familiars although I love Kidden's they are just to adorable for words. My first familiar was a Kidden, I also have a Flitterrat and a Fennekit. I would love to get a Pumpka and a Jackalope. I know that is a lot but I take really good care of my familiars when my nose is not stuck in a book!" she laughed and then smiled.WC 189

Caron smiled it was nice to meet someone who agreed with his point of view, it was always sad when someone destroyed a part of history to get money. "Yes, exactly that's part of what I want to do someday figure out all the questions and then write them down so others can share in what I've discovered." Caron said warmly and he nodded listening to her speak about her familiars "I would like to get some more familiars someday, but for now Peppermint is enough for me." Caron said with a laugh "I need to get back to my dorm to feed him soon."

"I did not realize how late is has gotten, been enjoying talking with you I lost track of time." "My familiars need to be fed as well and I like to take them outside to play and get lots of exercise so I will have to leave in a little while as well."
Cuileann smiled as she gazed at her book. "I have to finish writing the story I am working on as well as my paper for class." "Although I am in no hurry to do either right now." she smiled. Her shyness had melted away and she was feeling like she could just sit there and chat all day.WC 111 My Total WC 1089

Caron smiled at Cuileann and said "Well do you want to go to your dorm and then to my dorm, you can meet my familiar and I can meet yours? My flitterrat could use some fresh air and such." Caron laughed when she said she wasn't in a hurry to write her book right now. "Well, I am here and not studying at the moment so it would seem everyone needs a break at some point." Caron wondered if Cuileann would want to go and take care of their familiars together or if they would rather part on good terms now. He hoped they would say yes though, which showed in his face as he waited for their answer.
