Zosie Sorry had to edit a title. XD Iudocus never needed to worry about job security. He could have sworn he'd just gotten back from a gem-hunting trip before the crafters started screaming for more. With his ears filled with specific requested, he gathered supplies for another trip and headed out. The grey lion planned for a longer trip this time. He wanted to bring back enough that it'd give him a chance to catch his breath before they drove him out looking for him.
It had been several paw fulls of days since he'd left on this quest. Iudocus sat and consulted with his familiar. Their spoils were laid out in piles of gems. He was pleased with the size of the piles. Maybe these longer trips were exactly the way to go.
"What are we still missing Deacon?" They worked well as a team, and he valued the little klipspringer's opinions. Plus those little horns were excellent for prying stubborn gems out of the ground. A delicate hoof finished pushing the last of their finds into it's proper pile. Deacon tilted his head as he regarded the respectable piles between them. He knew the lion was hoping to get some of each, but he felt the crafts would be happy with this. Of course, one might say the crafters were never happy. They always needed something else, or this other stone for whatever they happened to be working on.
He gave a soft sigh before answering, "amethyst, diamond, and peridot, I think." It wasn't like they were the only seekers in the pride, but Iudocus was determined to do his part for the pride. Which meant Deacon went along with him. "Iudocus, I think we need to take a break. Even if we don't return to the pride tonight, we should at least take tonight and probably tomorrow off." He looked at the lion with tired eyes.

Tamba'dini had left her home. Her children had grown, and they had tried to find their own way in life. She was very proud of them, but needed to move on. Luckily, the lioness had met up with two of her friends, it was strange for her to call them that really, as they were prey species. The two klip springers bounded alongside her gently.
Murti was the younger one, with her distinctive purple spots. Tia'Rangi was her mother, though still young and spritely herself. Both of them were somewhat... odd. The fancied themselves as quite the artists. Tia'rangi would spend days agonizing over the incorrect colour of her paint, and Murti would build structures and sculptures just for the sheer fun of it.
Unfortunately, their nomadic lifestyle meant that may of their art was temporary. The two females wanted not only a more 'stable' life, but a more secure one. When Tamba had found them and told them of her plans to move along and try to find a new home, they had jumped at the chance, and now, whilst they searched for somewhere, they had security.
Tamba'dini lead the way confidently, but paused, paw mid-air as she narrowed her eyes.
Tia let out a small squeaking sound. "What is it?"

Iudocus looked up as the sound of a squeak and an unfamiliar voice reached his ears. He looked up startled to see a lioness and two klipspringers. Quickly he gestured for Deacon to gather up their finds while he addressed them. Rising to his feet he nodded his head. "Good day ladies. How are you today?" His eyes roamed the trio with amusement. How similar they all looked! It was as if they were somehow, all from the same family. Silly and utterly impossible he knew, but still amusing. Deacon knew he should have been hiding their finds. It wouldn't do to have all that hard work stolen. Except he couldn't take his eyes off one of the familiars. The one with purple spots was cute enough he admitted to himself, but the other was absolutely stunning. It wasn't often he met others of his kind out here. Belated he scooped the gems into a bag as his lion greeted the lioness.

Tamba'dini paused and eyed the male almost warily before she addressed him. It was unlike her to be overly cautious, but in recent circumstances she couldn't help herself. The male was a beautiful colour, it was almost as if he had a sheen, and his mane faded gently from sky blue to a flowery-pink. But... as it registered, what was most peculiar and amusing of all was that he completely matched his familiar, who was also a klipspringer. Eyes flickering from Iudocus to Deacon, she couldn't help but give them a warm smile as she responded.
"Evenin' gentlemen!"
Tia'rangi, being older than her daughter, was slightly more world weary and therefore slightly less shy. She stepped up to her companions soft back legs and almost peered around them. Her soft voice greeted both of the strangers whilst her eyes widened as she looked at Deacon. What a pretty klipspringer! "Hello."
Murti on the other hand, said nothing, though she gave the pair an awkward smile from the rear of the group. She had noticed Deacon putting something into the bag and the glimmer of the object as the light hit it told her it could be something very special indeed? "W-Whats in the bag?" A bold question, sure, but she said it gently enough to show that the interest and intention was pure. They were after all, as from removed from a band of robbers than you could get!
Tia shot her daugher an almost confused, but proud look for being so bold with strangers, strangers with teeth! She did admit, however that another lion with a klipspringer certainly set them at ease.

Iudocus wondered awkwardly what to say now. It wasn't often he found himself tongue tied. Not did he often meet others while on his searching. No, he did meet others, just not when he had so many gems on paw that his pride needed. A lioness and two klipspringers made an unlikely group to steal stuff, but one didn't know.
"How do you ladies fair today?" He asked pleasantly. Make simple conversation. They could easily disengage if they wanted to. Iudocus glanced with amusement toward the male at his side and the awkward way he greeted the two females. Clearly he needed to socialize the klip more with others of his own kind. Luckily this female presented him with a chance! Deacon swallowed hard. He could do this! "Good day." Thankfully the lion was making pleasantries. Did he need to say something more to the females while their lions talked? Just then the other female asked about the bag. He'd been too slow at hiding it! Standing possessively and firmly on the bad he gave her a sharp look to warn her off. "Objects for our pride." That was all he intended to stay! No doe eyes were going to distract him.
