Lieutenant Paracelsian was getting used to doing the Negaverse's grunt work. Most of the time, that meant meeting energy quotas. All things considered, he thought he did that quite well. A lot of the time it was as simple as getting the drop on people and getting at least a quick grab in. He would often let those he drained go after a certain point and maintain at least a pretense of cordiality as he went along. A quick "thank you for your contribution" seemed to smooth things over (or at least confuse people enough to let him off the hook), and so he would end up meeting his quota on time. Surely that had to be worth something. Generally, he avoided confrontation on his nightly excursions. So when he felt a twinkling bright aura somewhere in the distance, he swallowed nervously. There was bound to be an altercation that he wasn't entirely sure how to handle. Perhaps if he just went about his business, the Order senshi on the other end of that aura would go about theirs. It wasn't likely, but maybe if he just kept walking, he'd make it out without a fight.

Sailor Kari knew she had a duty…she knew that the Negaverse aura she felt quite nearby had to be taken care of. She knew what she had to do…but she also knew that she was doing her duty simply by being out here tonight, right? She didn’t have to stick her neck out…but she did it anyway.
She debated for a full minute, trying to weigh the pros and cons of confronting the person with the nasty aura…but…finally…she began starting off towards it.
What was the worst that could happen…? After all, she had made out pretty okay the last time she got into a fight, right? She could do this. She really, really could do this. She quickened her step, and the agent finally came into view…it was a dentist. A legit dentist. How…awkward. “Hey you! How dare you be out and about, tonight is a nice night and you are…well. Not nice.” Kari folded her arms across her chest, trying to look more impressive than she felt. It wasn’t…too hard to do, that was for sure. “I’m Sailor Kari and I’m going to kick your teeth in!”
Sure, sure waste the time in introducing yourself. That was how to win fights.

No, this one didn't leave well enough alone. Indeed, the senshi approached Paracelsian and threatened to kick his teeth in. He pursed his lips (not visible behind his mask, of course) as he tried to figure out what to do next. "Kari? Hmm. I'd say nice to meet you, but you don't seem up for niceties right now." He held his hands up as he came closer to show he was unarmed (not that his tube of toothpaste really counted, no matter how sharp the corners were). "I'll be frank. I'm almost done for the night. I think that, if I got one more person to donate, I'd be set, and I wouldn't have to bother anyone else." Though he was being truthful, he briefly considered deceiving the senshi and topping off his wad of energy with a little extra. After that, another idea popped into his head. "You senshi are supposed to protect people, aren't you? If you gave me your energy, I wouldn't have to bother a civilian for it."

Kari blinked. This was not what she had been expecting, especially after the last person she had to deal with…the crazy one who jumped off a building and landed on her and…all that awful stuff. “Donations? What do you just go up to people and ask them nicely to give you their energy…?”
She had been about to offer her own energy in place of a civilian, when he made the offer first. Well, that made life easier…at least he wasn’t heartless or rude…
“Yeah. If you want mine…take some. I don’t mind. If it means you don’t hurt anyone else tonight, please. I’ll give you as much as you want.” Well, maybe that was a little dangerous…but this guy was a nice guy, she could tell. She could trust him.
Maybe. “What do you have to do in order to take it…do I have to do anything special or…something?”

"Sometimes I do, and sometimes people agree with no trouble at all. Other times I need to be a bit stealthier. A n** here, a little grab there, just a bit skimmed off the top. It's not as efficient, but on busy nights it gets the job done without raising a fuss." When Paracelsian heard the senshi's willingness to donate her energy, he raised an eyebrow. "As much as I want? That's a dangerous proposition. According to policy, I should drain you dry and leave you unconscious here. Actually, according to policy, I should pull your starseed right out of your chest and be done with it. Do you know what your starseed is?" Not waiting to hear Kari's answer, he continued. "It's basically your soul in a crystal. My superiors would commend me for showing them proof that I've neutralized another threat. It's a tempting proposition, really." Paracelsian sighed into his mask and looked around. "Hmmmm. Well... I don't think I can punish you for your generosity. I'll be careful this time." Honestly, he didn't feel a significant amount of animosity towards this senshi, but business was business. He was going to have to do something to her, or he wouldn't be doing his job. "You don't have to do anything special. Just hold still." Cautiously, he stepped forward, reaching to put a hand on her shoulder.

Well…then again, maybe she couldn’t trust this guy. Talking about pulling her starseed…her…crystallized soul? That was an odd thought. Kari hesitated a moment, and took a half step forward, making it easier for him to grip her shoulder. “I’ll hold still…I mean…it’s not going to hurt, right?”
She drew in a breath, attempting to settle her nerves…because this was honestly a very, very stupid idea. “I don’t really want to hurt and…and what is your name? I’ve told you mine, so you should at least give me the same courtesy since you know, I’m letting you have some of my energy…it’s only fair, right?” She was rambling, though that was the only sign of how nervous she really was. Her body was still, at least…she hadn’t yet started shaking from fear…even though there was plenty.

"No, it won't hurt. You will feel woozy, but I won't let you pass out. It's probably less painful than donating blood. No needles is a plus, I'd say." The request for a name gave Paracelsian pause. Revealing his name had pros and cons. It would make him easier to track down, which could be bad if Kari decided to sic a stronger senshi on him, but if she wanted to contribute again, it might have an upside. Then again, giving his name might earn him a bit more trust, which had its own benefits. He could make a potential informant out of her, maybe. And what could she do with just a name and a face? In the end, he decided to humor her. "Paracelsian," he said. "Lieutenant Paracelsian." Slowly, he put his right hand on Kari's left shoulder. "Here we go. It shouldn't take too long." He sucked in a breath and focused on draining. A purple orb began to form near the Lieutenant, growing larger with each passing second. He showed no signs of letting go just yet.

“Para…celsian…? What a mouthful that is.” The senshi watched, her eyes focusing on the purple orb that started to form when she assumed he had began to take her energy. For a moment, she didn’t really feel much of anything, but then…it started as a tingling, as though her limbs had begun to fall asleep, and as the orb grew, she felt herself growing more and more…exhausted.
“That…feels really strange. Not…bad, just…strange.” The orb was pretty…purple had always been such a nice color…her sister had dyed her hair purple…maybe she would change her green parts to purple…maybe.
The orb just kept getting bigger, and her eyes were starting to feel heavy. “Hey…Paracelsian…I’m feeling really tired…is it supposed to be this bad? Like, I’m feeling a little woozy…”

"Para works. Maybe Parry too," Paracelsian said, thinking that a shorter alternative would be helpful for a soon to be exhausted senshi. He nodded when Kari reported feeling woozy. "That sounds about right. You're going to feel tired and woozy for a little longer. But I will not let you pass out." He put a careful emphasis on the last sentence, and he intended to keep his word. The growth of the purple orb was starting to slow, and he had the feeling that he was going to cap it off soon. A few more moments passed, and he released Kari's shoulder, quickly moving to shove the energy orb into subspace. The energy disappeared into the phantom pocket, where it would wait to be turned in (rather patiently for something that couldn't be patient). Though he had released Kari's shoulder, Paracelsian kept his hands near her in case she started to stumble or fall. It happened sometimes, and since he had been polite to her so far, he might as well continue being that way.

Kari gave a small laugh, letting her eyes close. It was just so much easier than keeping them open. “Parry the platypus. I like it.” Her body felt so heavy, and she swayed for a moment, before stumbling right into the lieutenant, coming down right on top of him. “Oh…I’m sorry. I think I’m more out of it than I thought it was…”
She forced her eyes open as wide as they would go and blinked down at the Negaverse agent beneath her. “Well hey there Parry…how’d you get down here? How’d I get down here?” Kari closed her eyes again and almost snuggled into the male. “You’re rather comfortable, just so you know. I don’t know. Maybe I’ll take a little nap…next time don’t take so much okay? I think you over did it…but you smell nice.”

"I'm not a platy-" Before Paracelsian could object, Kari fell onto him, sending him crashing to the ground. He was deeply thankful that he couldn't feel any other auras around; this positioning would definitely be difficult to explain to his superiors. Once he got his bearings again, he sighed. "Uh... thanks?" 'Comfortable' was not an adjective he expected to be applied to him. "It's not a good idea for you to take a nap on me. It'd be difficult for both of us to explain. How about I just find you a bench?" He struggled to get up, trying to pull Kari up with him in the hopes of being able to drag her somewhere else.

Kari resisted for a minute, though finally sighed and dragged her tired body up. “All right, all right. I’m here. I’m ready. I hope you have a good night…thanks for letting me help and not hurting any civil—“ She let out a huge yawn and tears pricked in the corner of her eyes. “…lians.”
The senshi gave a wave and began walking off, rubbing her eyes roughly.
Energy draining was awful. She felt as though she had been up for days, running in circles while she was up…no, now it was time for a nice, long…very long nap. And maybe some cake. Cake made things better. Always.
