Kae checked her cellphone for the time and nodded as she looked over to the tray of food on the desk that Zira had acquired for Ashral, already lacing the drink with the drug that would induce the truth serum effect they were heavily relying to get more information on from her. It was about time to act, if everything went according to plan, Ree would be distracted by something for Mara and Zira would be taking Leukos for some examinations after leaving the food with Ashral. Kae looked to Zira as she picked up the tray and walked with Kae to Hexxis' room. Zira was let into the room, moving to set down the food at the desk and then ushering Leukos in his reluctance out of the room. Kae stayed far enough back to not be seen, but close enough to watch her through the window.

Ashral had been a lot more compliant over the last couple days, but talked far less now after what happened at the meeting. Any questions Leukos had about her or what happened at the meeting would be redirected to questions that didn't really matter. She moved to the desk and sat down, looking fairly bored as she moved food around the plate with her fork idly, taking a bite only here and there as she swung her feet and hummed to herself. After a bit, she drank the drink and continued on for a few more minutes. She began to look a bit tired as she leaned on her arm laid on the desk. The melody she hummed forming into words as she sang, the song become slower, as she forgot parts and started over a few times. Narrowing her eyes in confusion she pushed herself away from the desk and came to a shaky stand, hand firmly gripping the chair as she tried to walk to the bed and stumbled, barely making it to the edge of the bed before falling to her knees and she rolled herself into a sitting position on the floor, leaning against the bed. The world was spinning and she didn't know how it had even started, things were darkening and brightening as a glimmer of memory flickered over her mind and she closed her eyes tightly and grasped her head with both hands suddenly. "....shhhhh.... quiet now... don't make a sound..." she whispered as she pulled her knees up to her chest and kept holding her head. "...no no no.. it's okay.... just be quiet... not a sound... it has to be quiet now..." her voice was wavering and mumbled as she continued to ramble softly to herself.

Mara quietly joined her a few minutes later. A brow slightly raised in question as she stopped near Kae glancing toward the door and Ashral's barely seen form. "She ate? " she muttered quietly hearing a soft voice from inside but it was mostly muffled by the thickness of the walls. Ree was currently distracted training with Tri for the past few days ...they were hoping to keep him distracted from trying to come in contact with Ashral again.

She was starting to wonder if the Malice was having trouble being in control. security footage that was flagged for her right after the meeting last time, showed the Malice acting oddly ...almost as if afraid...but at the same time keeping her word when Leukos finally fell asleep. Now...hopefully they would get some answers.

Kae watched as the effects took hold of Ashral just as anticipated, it was working quite well. Good. She didn't acknowledge Mara as she walked up, only keeping her eyes focused on Ashral. "After reviewing what footage you gave me, it doesn't seem like Hexxis... or Ashral eat all that much.. so Zira put it in her drink. She took it all, so now she should be fully under its effects." she slid her eyes to Mara and nodded. "Let's act." she instructed simply, letting Mara use her access code to enter Hexxis' room and following her in. Kae immediately moved to the side of her and kneeled down next to her. "Ashral, how are you feeling?" she asked as she kept a steady gaze on her for any abnormalities.

She lifted her head a bit, shifting fear filled eyes to look at Kae, then after a moment they faded into interest then confusion. "Waiting for Shogu... where is Shogu. He's supposed to find me now." she answered then closed her eyes and shook her head. "No, maybe I was wrong. I'm worried, there's a monster in this place and he's alone now." she push herself to a shaky stand again and looked to Mara. "..no no no... Shhhh... It's quiet. It has to be. He'll come back, you'll see. That's part of the game. He has to find me now. Then it's my turn. It was their turn, I found them once... but they are gone now." she was rambling, talking a lot, not much making sense as she would direct her statements at either of them, but it was obvious she wasn't really talking to them directly. "But I didn't do that, no... I didn't hurt anyone... It's not my fault... I don't even know them..." she turned to the door and took a step, seeming like she forgot she could barely stand, stumbled, falling back to the floor, then pushed herself backward toward the bed again and curled up in the same fashion as when they had entered in the first place, this time wrapping her arms around her knees and staring at the floor. "Where is Shogu?... I want to talk to him... He'll know what to do... He always knows what to do..."

Kae had seemed to be watching her with intrigue, as without any direction Ashral merely rambled on nonsensically. That in itself was a little unusual as the drug should have not only caused her to become very lethargic and very compliant to requests, but it was also in part a muscle relaxer and she should have not had enough strength to stand like she did. Though, it seems that was still a difficult task for her as she stumbled and fell. Kae looked to Mara, as if to signal to ask questions or at least signal back she should ask the questions to Ashral herself.

Mara followed Kae inside, closing the door behind her as she observed the scene. Darn it.... Seeing her like that just made her feel guilty, as if they went overboard on Hexxis herself and not just a malice. Crossing her arms she stared down at Ashral, 30mins and what questions where doing to be the most important? Or should she just follow the state of mind she was in right now? "If you have any go for it. Other wise I will asked one first " she muttered to Kae. "Ashral. Who is Shogu? And what monster? " she said quietly, gold eyes holding a hint if discomfort.

Ashral paused, looking back up to Mara with a tiredly look, "Who?... Who's Shogu..." she seemed to think for a moment, then suddenly looked surprised and a bit concerned. "How do you know Shogu? Where is he?"

Kae narrowed her eyes, analyzing her carefully. "Who is Shogu, Ashral? she reiterated, trying to keep her focus.

Ashral then began to smile softly as she moved her hands upward almost as if to hug herself. "Shogu is very dear to me... He protects me... Keeps the monster locked away.... That monster. Oh! That monster... It lives in the mountains with us.... The damned thing killed our parents... I didnt do that.................. I dont even know them." she then looked around then to Kae. "They wont allow it. Im not supposed to be here. They make him leave." she suddenly turned to Mara, leaning forward into her hands. "No... You made him leave! Why did he leave?! You dont want him here! You dont want me!! You made him leave! You made him leave me here!! I didn't do anything! I didn't hurt anyone. I. DONT. KNOW. THEM!" she was yelling, glaring hard at Mara as she fought back tears.

She raised an eyebrow with intrigue as Ashral's emotion sway violently. "Ashral..." she spoke calm a low through a wave of cold words. "Why are you still here? What are you trying to do?"

She then leaned back and grabbed her head again. "I... I just want to go outside. Shogu will find me... He's going to... No, I just want to play a game. I'm telling the truth, I don't know anything about them. I had nothing to do with all of that. How about I go outside.... Play hide and seek so someone can die. The monster here likes that. No, that's fine. Don't make him leave. Bring him back now. It's too dark, and I just want to fight." she strained a bit and closed her eyes, forcing herself to stand again, grasping onto the end of the bed for balance. "Who cares if I'm alone. That's fine. But he's always there. He's going to play a game with me again and when he finds me, I get to go home again. I can go outside and it will be okay. Won't have to hide anymore. Hey....... I had a brother... Where did he go now?....... Who is he? Did the monster kill him too?" she lifted her heavy head and looked at the window in the door, staring off for a moment. "Where is this... I don't belong here.... I'm supposed to be hiding."

//Darn it Ree// Mara thought eyes narrowed automatically when Ash turned to yell at her. Her fingers itched for a weapon, but other than the faint twitch of her index finger she did nothing other than glare. Her own emotions no constantly flip flopping between anger, pity and a hint of dread.

She was trying to piece together what was being said...was Ashral the monster of the mountain? Did she even know?...the hide and seek game seemed pretty bloody, was she killing people she found while this Shogu tried to keep her hidden? Or was she playing while this Shogu dispatched intruders?

She listened with a frown at Kae's question but it didn't seem to pull Ashral away from the past....she was starting to think that the malice has been stuck there for a few days since the meeting already.

"Ashral. You are hiding, but Shogu needs your help in a different way now. He need to remember what he was doing...he needs you to help him remember so we can go tell him"

Ashral slowly turned her head to Mara again. "..shogu... what?.... you know where he is.. no, he's quiet. He doesn't talk to me anymore since our parents died... " she looked at Kae and frowned then back to Mara once more. "..remember?... uhm... We used to play hide-and-seek a lot... That's not it. That's dangerous. I'm not allowed anymore. That was my fault..... I'm sorry, Shogu. Don't be mad, okay? It was an accident, honest." she paused and look to the floor, pain in her eyes. "He doesn't believe me. But that's okay, it's quiet now. If you lay really still they'll walk right over and they'll never know you're there. Yes, more hide-and-seek. But they were never looking. I've never been there. Our parents don't know me. Their gone now." her eyes were welling up with tears. She lifted her hands, palms open as she stared down at her hands. "...no, I didn't do that. That's not my fault........ I'm telling you the truth!!! I didn't do that!!!" her face turned to distraight anger as she brought her hand up to hold herself, leaning forward slightly as she tried hard not to let her tears get the better of her. "Please believe me! I didn't do that!! I don't even know them! Who are they?! I don't know!!" she was yelling again as her aura spread slowly out throughout the room itself.

Kae tensed, as she seemed to become more stern, coming to a stand behind Ashral, debating whether to put a hand on her as a deep feeling of dread settled in pit of her stomach, something she'd refused to show as she watched her closely. "Ashral, please calm down. It's okay."

"..he didn't believe me.." she was starting to calm down again but the aura stayed. "Shhhhhh... we have to be quiet now." she took a step forward and stumbled a bit but stayed standing, bringing her hands away from herself very carefully as she reached out to something. "He was making swords...... it was so quiet..... Those swords were dark, but were so pretty. If I'm really quiet, we can play with them like father used to teach us... before I had to hide below them." her face softened but still vividly displayed the pain she felt for the memories she was experiencing. A twinge of confusion hit her face as she withdrew her hand a bit. "Let's play a game.... then I get to go home again. Is that what we were doing? Yes, that's what we were doing... playing hide-and-seek." she held her hands just in front of her face, blocking her view directly ahead as she spoke to no one at all. "....one time,.... he found me..... but why?.... What was I hiding for? ..... No, I get to go home now. Please believe me, I just wanted to go outside." she closed her eyes, tears starting to overwhelm her eyes and her hands began to shake. "Please understand I don't know anything. I promise I'm not lying... I don't know them. Don't... Don't leave me here!!! The monster can be heard and you have to run... no, it's the sword too. Why?...... Why look at me like that... WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME, I DID NOTHING WRONG!!" she suddenly started yelling out of nowhere, as she crouched down with her hands on her head. "SHOGU HELP ME!!!" she screamed as she pushed her aura as far as she could, crying as she stayed crouched in front of the bed. "DON'T HURT ME, I'M SORRY. I DON'T KNOW THEM. I SWEAR I DON'T KNOW, LEAVE ME ALONE. I DON'T KNOW THEM. IT WASN'T MY FAULT. PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!" she screamed, then began to ramble the same phrases again, but in a most hushed tone as she sobbed.

Kae took a step back, "..sh-s**t." she cursed as she knew this wasn't the reaction she expected. Analyzing the information as quickly as she could, trying to come up with something, anything to get her to stop and bring back her aura. Was Shogu good, or was he bad? She couldn't tell anymore. "Ashral, I believe you, but you need to calm down. They are going to find you if you keep crying like this." she spoke with a certain sternness hoping it would help. "I think there is something else at play here, the serum shouldn't be doing this to her, quite the opposite. I don't understand what exactly is causing her to do this, but I think it has something to do with her mental state." she cursed again in her mind, if only she had Elaena here, or at least paid attention to her when she talked about psychology and all that. She'd know what was happening with her mind being in shambles the way it was. "Ashral, no one is going to hurt you, we are just talking... it's going to be okay."

Ashral seemed to calm down only slightly, still crying, she tried to pull her aura back, returning it to only filling the room they were in once again but couldn't seem to make it go away. She stayed curled up on the balls of her feet, grasping her head with both hands as she sobbed softly. "..shogu help me.."

The use of past and present tenses were confusing to no end. One disjointed line of thought mixed in with....memory?Ashral Reacting as if she was seeing something so vivid that she was mixing between the two? Mara had absolutely no idea but the reaction and words were disturbing her more than just having someone angry and yelling at her. At this point she would rather have that than....this.

Letting out an involuntary hiss she forced herself to relax as energy waved past her plucking the dread and even bit of fear higher and higher than it normally would have gone under the circumstances. She clenched her teeth and accepted it it..waited for it to settle but not fade as she focused on Ashral again, eyed the malice as she tried to bring up anger to combat it even if a bit.

Hiding under swords? ...prisoner? Disgraced child? Or killer. She tried to keep her mind focused on the jumble of words and Ashal's reactions. Ashral didn't even seem to see them...or she didn't care. Mara took a shaky breath and moved to help Kae calm her down. This went horribly wrong, she could hear it in Kae's voice..the stern voice of a parent than the coldness they had both arrived with. She doubted finding the Malice locked in the grips of fear as anything either of them has expected.

"As-" she choked on her words when the Malice started to cry and the screaming. Her hand twitched for a weapon, Even pulled at the darkness in the room itself but finally force pd herself to center on her anger, the malice who nearly killed her child.

"I'm getting a tranq..we can't continue like that. She's barely even responding to us and just going into shock " forgetting for the moment the reasons why Ashral shouldn't sleep. They weren't even getting much useful information and there was still the risk of Ashral remembering dispite Kae's assurances. Turn away, reaching for the door handle when she felt the sense of fear and dread multiple..once.....twice more. She felt something warm against her leg as she held on to the handle, in wide-eyed fear.

Two Shadow aura's flared in response, a challenge for a challenge as they moved closer to the room in seconds. Circling it...as they worked in tandem to stalk the unfamiliar aura from outside. The lights inside went out as Ree and Tri phased into the room. Tri with daggers loosely held in his grip, ready. While Ree quickly looked around the room, eyes bright with dangerous light as he "saw' them in the gloom, looking for who to attack.((phase, darkness manipulation, shadow aura X 2 ))

Moments later the darkness faded away as Tri stood between Mara and Ashral, weapons held at the ready as he watched her coolly.

Ree stood between Ashral and the others, his back to the side as he tried to at least keep Ashral in his peripheral view.

Still his main gaze was on Kae and Tri, who was now currently protecting Mara. "What. Were you doing? " his voice soft but dangerous as he focused only on Kae, wanting answers and wanting them now.

"Ree. Move away from her " Tri ordered, focusing on the Malice now with more than a hint of anger at Ree's protective posture in front of her.

Kae tensed even further, pulling a simple dagger from underneath her pant leg, holding it ready to strike reflexively in defense as the dread only intensified further. She was shaking, her body clearly showing her fear as her eyes stayed strong and glaring as she did everything she could to keep the intense terror she felt from surfacing in her expression. She kneeled to an stance ready to attack as the lights went out, not even aware she had done so. She could see movement, making out two figures with wings. Kae cursed in her mind, Tri and Ree had shown up in response to Ashral's aura. This was not the most ideal situation with them not knowing the situation and even more so with Ashral still drugged and disoriented beyond reasoning. As soon as the lights came back up, Kae met Ree's gaze immediately. "You're probably not going to like the answer...." she half-growled defensively then took a deep but shakey breath trying to regain the composure within herself as she slid the dagger back into its place and slowly came to a stand. "I drugged her." she stated simply. "It was suppose to make her drowsy on par with a night of drinking. I intended to ask her a few questions and leave it at that. My intentions were only to find out enough to better understand her motives, I was only trying to protect you." she explained, her face relaxing into a frown slightly. "It wasn't supposed to turn out like this... she suddenly started reliving her memories and it's causing her a lot of distress."

Ashral felt the auras which only confused her more, though familiar feelings of dread as the lights went out. She lifted her head and looked around, trying to understand what was happening. There was talking, but nothing she could understand the context of. No, she'd heard this kind of talk before from her hiding place, the whispers of how she ill, and a danger. Keeping her hands on her head she was trying to take it in. As her eyes shifted upward to look at Ree, her face softened into pain like a lost child as she forced herself to stand. "..shogu..." she muttered, trying to take a step but stumbled and fell forward, running into Ree's shoulder and falling down. A slight whimper as she strained to try to stand once again, reluctant to stay down. "... shogu, you found me...i knew you'd come for me..." she spoke through a wavering voice. "I thought you hated me.... didn't believe me... but I didn't hurt anyone... I swear I'm telling the truth... It wasn't my fault... You believe me, right?" she began to ramble again.

"She's really disoriented. I'm pretty sure she can't distinguish between her past and what is actually happening."

She was standing shakily, grasping the end of the bed again as she looked at Ree with an expression of relief and longing. She then looked to Tri and Mara, her eyes widening slightly as she exhaled shakily. "...no... nonono... I don't know them!!" she exclaimed, her balance was off making her sway a bit. "..you... YOU TRIED TO KILL ME!!" she screamed, tears welling up again in her eyes, quickly overwhelming her face as anger grew in fast.

"Wait.. No! That's not what happened!" she retorted, her own eyes widening at the implication.

"YOU DIDN'T EVEN WANT ME!! YOU WERE GOING TO KILL ME AND HE SAVED ME!!" she continued, clenching her teeth through waves of distraught tears. "YOU MADE HIM LEAVE ME!! I JUST WANTED TO GO OUTSIDE AND IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!!! YOU MADE HIM HATE ME!!!" she lowered her head, forcing her eyes closed as she was silent for a moment, then tensed up even more. "I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!!!" she screamed suddenly, lifting her head and lifted her hands together, a dark sword made of shadow appearing in her hands as she glared and Tri and Mara. A fleeting memory of a very similar situation flashed through her mind. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!! LEAVE SHOGU ALONE!!!"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 22, 2016 9:19 pm

Ree's gaze harden as Kae spoke only to soften slightly in confusion as she said that they did it to protect him. Protect hm? Why didn't they just ask him to ask her first?

"..shogu..."

He turned his head sharply as she moved, ready to stop her if she attacked only to feel her crash into him. Automatically he reached down to help her and stopped as she was already getting to her feet, malice not Hexxis not a child a ..malice with a child's form. //Shogu?....// he frowned lightly and took a quick glance in Kae's direction and back, blinking as he meet with eyes full of relief and longing. That hurt, it reminded him of another...time and that just made him want to move closer. His frown faded completely to confusion as he listened to Kae, wings lowering from their threatening position.

"Why didn't you ask m-..."

He snapped his full attention back on Ashral, which for him was the same as unsheathing a weapon. Wings lifted in anger at her words and the direction of her gaze. Tri he could see was already moving to cover Mara, daggers taking on a faint haze of darkness as he lifted them in a ready position again..ready to fight her in defense of someone else..even if not for himself.

"Tsk" he said softly, moving a step or two until he was by Ashral, all the time keeping an eye on her hands as he attempted to reach down to her and grab the wrist of her sword arm. Just grab it and nothing more. "Ashral...are you breaking our deal? .....are you breaking -your- word? " he said quietly, his voice a soft but cold.

--------

Tri opened his mouth to tell him to move then closed it, feathers bristling in worry and anger for and at the other meta. Why did he decide now to grow up? "Mara, leave please" he said quietly, hearing her let out a quiet sob and realizing that she was not dealing with it as she normally did. Glancing toward Kae he relax only slightly as he heard the slight snicker of the door being open behind him. "Kae....move carefully and please follow her out. We will deal with Ashral " he said quietly, glancing between her and Ree and Ashral. He didn't understand what was happening but it seemed Ashral has mistaken Ree for her lost swordsman?

Kae nodded at Tri, "It's really isn't her fault, she has no idea what she's doing.." she commented quietly to Tri then moved carefully to the door and shut the door slowly, backing up and watching through the window, a frown forcing its way through her stern face, a twinge of regret flickering softly beneath her eyes. "...this is a mess." she pulled out her texted someone for a moment then dropped her hand to her side, eyes narrowing in pain as she could only watch and hope that this didn't end up with someone getting hurt. For once in a very long time, she almost felt incompetent as she was already blaming herself for these events that had transpired.

Ashral followed Mara's movement with her eyes but didn't act, turning her glare to Tri, gripping the hilt of the sword tightly. "You can't just get rid of me! I belong here!! It wasn't my fault!!!" she yelled as she tensed and was about to move forward to attack but then felt Ree grab her wrist, her fierce eyes snapped to him then blinked as they softened. She listened to his words and a pained look surfaced yet again accompanied by a slight bit of panic. "..no... I would never lie... I'm telling you the truth... I don't know them.. I didn't hurt anyone...." her eyes slowly drifted to the sword in her hands as her eyes widened in fear and she opened her hands as though to drop the sword but it merely vanished. "...it wasn't me... i didn't do that....." she looked to Ree again suddenly as she furrowed her brows in distress. "I don't know them,... please believe me... I'm being honest, I swear...... I won't hurt anyone, I promise..." she stared down at his hand. "...please don't be mad at me, Shogu... " she was trying not to cry again, fully focused on Ree now as she swayed a little to far and stumbled again. "...I feel really dizzy... Im sorry... I just wanted to go outside and play with you again... Let's play hide- and-seek..." she closed her eyes for a moment, almost falling over again as they snapped open but looked tired. "...you believe me.. right?...?" she faltered again, as she grabbed onto his sleeve for stability then fell to her knees. "... im sorry... i don't know anything about all that... i didn't do anything wrong... I swear I'm telling the truth.."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 22, 2016 11:31 pm

Tri sigh softly as Kae moved out the door and closed it behind her, hands tightening on his daggers as Ashral looked like she was about to move. //She has no idea what she is doing....// as far as he was aware it was just supposed to be a truth serum..unless this was a side effect of it reacting badly. Silver eyes narrowed as he protected the door, watching Ashral and Ree interact nervously.

Ree's gazed soften then shifted to concern as he watched her, letting go of her wrist when she looked horrified. She was breaking his heart, making it harder to be suspicious as she tried to confirm her innocence in what? He wasn't sure. But she seemed desperate that he accept that she didn't know them and that he was someone named Shogu? He was not going to deny it this time even if wanted to ask..she didn't look like she could handle it if he did either.

"Don't hurt anyone okay? In the mean time lets just rest. Hide and seek might be to much....why don't we take a nap and maybe play when you wake? " he said crouching down, looking at Hexxis and feeling a twinge of guilt followed by knowledge that it wasn't Hexxis that this was Ashral. Not looking at Tri he sat down on the ground with his back to the bed, heart pounding in fear as he motioned her to come to him anyways, even extending am arm out if she wanted to sit by him instead. Giving her the choice to come or not at all.

---
Mara stood outside taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out as she looked toward Kae. Fear and worry still obvious on her features as she kept trying to find some control over her emotions. "T-that .." She let her breath out sharply. "Wasn't supposed to happen. " she looked toward the window that were mostly covered up by Tri's feathers.

"Big..mess" she ran her hand through heir hair in both frustration and comfort, wanting to leave and change but at the same time not wanting to stay here until she know how things were being handled.

Ashral lifted her head slowly to meet eyes with Ree, tears in her own eyes as he came to a crouch. She nodded slowly through a frown as she was starting to calm down, her aura pulling back in and dissipating completely. "I won't hurt anyone.... That's not me. I really don't know them... But I told you that." she watched him come to a sit and extended an arm to her. Looking at his hand she felt a sense of longing as she slowly crawled up next to him, curling up into his arm, tucking herself into his side as she lowered her head into her pulled up knees. "...no hiding.. is that okay?... yeah... I'm really tired. Is it okay to sleep, Shogu? Or should I hide again?" her voice was calm, but still wavering. "...i'm sorry, shogu... i'll be good..... we can sleep... it will be okay.. then...we can.. play again.." her voice was trailing off quickly, mumbling as she closed her eyes. She rested her head against Ree and soon fell asleep.

-----------------

Kae was staring intently at the scene as her phone buzzed and without looking to her hand, she pulled the phone up to her ear. Then blinked in hesitation as she brought the phone down and turned it to speaker phone, "Verdict?"

"Delusions of grandeur, narcissism, bipolar disorder, possible schizophrenia." the female voice on the line was light but stern. There was a sense of agitation through an otherwise almost bubbly voice.

"Cut the s**t, this is serious!" Kae barked back angrily.

"First of all, you don't get to ask me for advice and then yell at me. We aren't playing that game." there was silence then an audible sigh. "Okay, besides the fact that you are a wreckless idiot for drugging a malice, it seems like the drug is causing a psycho reactive trigger to her memories. Which, by the way, is likely that she remembers her past, but from what you told me, has experienced dissociative amnesia about whatever trauma caused her to turn into a malice in the first place. Most Malices are fairly crazy, that's why I avoid them, hate them even, but it looks like she was already mentally insane before she died, which is why you could never pinpoint her."

"Is there any way to help her?"

"Honestly, my money is on borderline. So no, not unless you want to become her psychologist and use extensive psychotherapy to work her through her problems. Though, first there's no guarantee that will fix her being she's a malice. Second, I'm sure you know that might absolve her... unless that's what you want then by all means do what you want and leave me alone." the line clicked and the call ended.

Kae stared angrily at her phone as she gripped it tightly in anger. Closing her eyes, she sighed then look back into the room seeing Ashral practically cuddled up to Ree. She narrowed her eyes in frustration and then looked to Mara and sighed again. "...well." she spoke in agitation then returned her view to the window. "Tell them I forced you into this. I don't need you getting more of a bad rap to your own family.... It was my idea anyway... It's best they just assume that I'm the bad guy in all this."

"It's okay to sleep, we can play when you wake up " Ree said quietly, watching her as she arranged herself against him. Only then did he lower his arm and moved it around her, comforting.

His heart beat quickly waiting for the trap to spring while at the same time, lowering a wing to cover her as well. Logically he had no freaking idea what was happening other than to play along , while emotionally he just wanted to comfort her like the child she seemed. After a bit he relaxed his hold and finally looked up at Tri angrily, wings shifting a little until he looked possessive of the girl underneath. It was only as he meet Tri's gaze that he noticed the pain, guilt and sadness there instead of the anger he was expecting. It was almost as if Tri had made a choice and was now staring at the consequences.

"Why ar-....sh**! " his pulled his wings away and looked down at Ashral. "Ashral? Ashral! wake up!" he shook her lightly at first before reaching out to her neck p, frantically looking for a pulse.

"I may have wanted to use her to prevent you from attacking us, but you were the one that killed her"

"Pulse, very weak....." He looked up at Tri full of anguish as the older meta rushed toward him, scooped up Hexxis and disappeared in a swirl of darkness.

Mara took a breath when the first of the auras was pulled back then a deeper once when the second one disappeared as well. Black pants..she was going to wear black pants for the rest of her life a small part of her mind whispered. Straightening she looked directly at Kae then toward the small window where Ree was now alone looking haunted. The sight sent a shiver through her as she forced herself to look away.

"Friend?" She muttered with a slight nod toward the phone and the voice who had answered Kae...wondering if the phone has been on through out all of that. "So basically no hope going from what she says...but Ashral should be back to her sane...ish state once the drug wears off? " she sounded hopeful and nearly let out a shaky laugh at -wanting- back what was most familiar to her. Glancing back at the window she frown, feeling Ree finally pull back his aura as well. "I hope for their sakes she does...." If Ashral became to much of a danger, an uncontrollable danger, she would have to be terminated along with Hexxis.

She would have to give the order and she couldn't even think of how Tri or Ree would take that. These are the times Kai railed against her for...

"It also wouldn't matter...Tri knew. Ree didn't" she said quietly, feeling a bit like her former self even if internally she felt like a piece of garbage//. Yay congrats...what did you learn about Malices? That you don't want to know their past// she thought to herself looking over at Kae. "No way to know the reaction...you will always have outliers to many things..we just got lucky and got one of the furthest " a partial attempt at comfort, right now wanting to throw any responsibility she had in the air and hide from all of them.

Kae watched as then the realization hit her the same time as it did Ree, with Ashral not awake.. no, unconscious. Unresponsive. ’…s**t s**t s**t..’ she hissed in her mind, the guilt welling up further within her. She pulled up her phone and tapped a few apps, pulling up her vitals immediately, monitoring the numbers as she listened to Mara talk, responding reflexively through multi-tasking. ”Hardly. I’d rather not talk about her.. at least not right now.” she responded bluntly about the question regarding who was on the phone. ”All you need to know is she’s really good in the field of psychology and biology. So her word is very trustworthy stuff, despite my reluctance to ever ask her for anything.” there was a hint of spite in her voice that was covered by her stern panic over the situation, shutting down her emotions quickly so she could stay focused on the task at hand. ”Well, there’s kind of hope, it’s just a very delicate situation now on that. She seemed fairly sane other than this, just.. a little bloodthirsty. But, we can discuss options as we go from here. Since now there is solidified options. As for when she wakes up, Ashral will not remember anything after eating. So we can act as normal and she wouldn’t be the wiser. That I can be sure of.” she commented, watching the number skate dangerously low but very slowly pulling back up. A good sign, though still displaying a red warning on her screen.

”Then keep it that way. I have a feeling that Ree won’t take this well, but if he has someone to blame that isn’t so heavily part of SIU, it may be enough to prevent him from acting out.” she paused, realizing the weight of her words, as though talking about a rebellious teenager intent on running away from home. Shaking her head lightly, ”I don’t want him to blame SIU for something I did of my own personal accord.” The phone vibrated lightly as the warning turned from red to yellow. Kae sighed with relief. ”It looks like she’s going to be okay. Her heart is stable but weak, so we have good timing… now we just have to wait for Hexxis to wake up.” She then dropped her hand with the phone down slowly to her side and looked to Mara, a glint of remorse in her eyes as she then closed her eyes and shook her head. ”Science is full of constants and variables.. Surprises are bound to happen. As I’ve come to learn, not everything can be predicted with science. It was a risk, one I was recklessly willing to take. Where we proceed from here will be difficult to decide……… Though, with this information, I know how to finish Hexxis’ inhibitors. So at least this wasn’t all for nothing. We learned a lot from this, even things we hadn’t expect to know. Some that we might not have wanted to know….” She looked to the room with Ree sitting in devastation and walked up to the window, tapping lightly on it as she held up her phone to show her pulse was still going and nodded at him with a melancholy look. She opened her mouth to say something through the door then hesitated, looking away. She closed her eyes, sighed, and began to walk away. She felt she’d done enough damage for today.
