The group that left the Castle was the largest--and perhaps such was best for a place as large and unexplored as the Rift. After all, should one agent fall, there would be another to step into their place and see this mission through. This was a land no longer touched by man--it was dominated by youma. The group of agents venturing into its depths were a small minority compared to their numbers. All would have to pass through the Hall of Shadows, through the eyes of those dark guardians that stood watch over those who entered and exited the Rift. From there, the journey was a...simple one. At least, it was for those who chose to ignore the youma clearly following them in the shadows. It was not often so large a group entered the Rift; they were curious. Overhead, the group was being circled by some distant, winged youma. But not all youma were simply curious; there were those that followed in the wake of the group, territorial and protective of their home. Metallia had given this group a task that sounded simple enough in nature: follow the directions she had given them to the Graveyard and retrieve the crystallized bone of a long-fallen Greater Youma. Metallia’s pressed that it was important to retrieve it: tonight. However, there was only one way to find this special bone...they had to physically locate it. Metallia had warned that their eyes would be their greatest tools; the bone itself would likely not give any special aura to aid in its location. Luckily for them, the majority of the walk after leaving the Hall of Shadows was ...uneventful. There was no time for party members to explore of the path towards the Graveyard. They had a deadline and an impatient mistress waiting for their return. The walk took nearly an hour just to arrive, and the deeper into the Rift, the more the landscape seemed to change. Rocks and Crystals began to give way to a flat surface, and the place seemed strangely barren of life. Even the crystals that illuminated the land seemed to give of a weak, sickly glow. It wasn’t long before the flat, dusty land suddenly ended.. The edge of the cliff face came unannounced and any misstep would send the person down the hard and fast way! But if you carefully peered over the edge, you could see them: bones. Piles and mountains of bones, laid all over the valley. Some gave a clear idea what the creature might have looked like, but most of them looked like sloppy pieces haphazardly discarded. Youma usually turned to dust when destroyed, but something must have been strong enough in these that left remains. There was no doubt that the power of such ancient and powerful creatures would have been noticed by the rest of the youma population, and a good eye could see that the shadows down there seemed to shift and peer to see their new arrivals. But there was still one obstacle--getting down to the Graveyard. Jumping would be problematic, but if they were careful, they could probably slide down the slope of cliff’s edge--if they were careful. It was a steep drop, and to fall could mean a dangerous tumble to the bottom. Quote: Agents! Your orders are simple! Find the Crystallized Bone of a Greater Youma and return to the castle as soon as possible! However, though your journey here was simple, but strenuous, walk, you now face the first true test… Get down to the Graveyard! Please include your character's name at the top of each post! If your character did not join this ORP at the end of the last post you can still join this ORP, however if you come in late and miss a roll, you will not be able to make it up! There will always be at least 24 hours between posts. If you have any questions, please PM the shop mule!

Lieutenant HuntiteThe walk had not been particularly bad. Huntite was fairly used to walking for a long period of time on the job so walking for an hour was nothing and of course the weight of Katya did nothing to hinder him. That didn't stop him from being wary over the many youma around the large group of course, not after the warnings to keep an eye on them. As he didn't have much experience with the creatures he couldn't tell the curious ones from the possible aggressive ones unless it was fairly obvious so he would end up having to rely on those with previous knowledge. He could easily admit to not minding exploring the Rift however if someone were to ask.
He kept his attention split between keeping an eye on their surroundings and on the task at hand of finding the crystallized bone. He did however end up pulling a corrupted Senshi (Valeria) closer to the group after vaguely recognizing her from the invasion and seeing her sort of off to herself.
When they finally came to the graveyard of bones he carefully peered down at the mountains of bones and the steepness of the cliff with a frown. Huntite's eyes slid over to Benitoite, and more importantly the leg he was having problems with, when it became apparent that they would likely have to slid down the side. He was quick to look away however so he wouldn't inadvertently draw attention to it even with the others in the group already being aware of the General's limp. "We should have brought some rope with us." He said to no one in particular, then glanced over between General Leucite, Lieutenants Stibnite, Raspite, and Witherite to see how they where holding up after the walk, though he expected them to be fine.

General Xenotime"Lovely scenery, don't you think?" The general quipped to her band of merry misfits, pearly whites flashing in the unsure light as she grinned at Marcasite. The newest in their group, she'd be the least likely to have seen any shred of the rift that didn't lie immediately beyond the walls of the castle. Hell, even those that had been with them longer may not have ventured far out, and they had gone well beyond the point the general herself had dared travel. You needed numbers on your side, even as soldiers of the Negaverse, and the reason why could be spotted lingering and lurking in the shadows around them. She didn't say much after that, not for the remainder of their long walk. It was better to stay focused, to pay attention to where they were and what was out there. If she treated this seriously, so would her agents. Or at least, that was the logic. At the cliff she paused to glance over the edge at the bone pile below. It was a steep incline, but not impossible. Granted, she could simple teleport down, as could Typhoon. The other three she could have taken along, and probably would have, but there was a competition going on between at least two of them. She'd give them a chance to work this one out without her help. "I'll see you all at the bottom," she purred, smiling as she reached up to brush her fingers along Marcesite's chin. Then she was gone, appearing again at the bottom just below then. Arms crossed and head ripped up to watch them.

General Labyrinthite
The Rift had always been a beast of a comforting nature to General Labyrinthite, as he'd devoted much of his captaincy to it's bowels - when he'd done much training solo and with others. Still, this trek was something entirely new territory to him and the dull feeling of excitement bubbled in his belly. Though he would not admit it Labyrinthite was still riding that high of euphoria that came from Metallia's praise.
Tourmaline's public promotion left him feeling more comfortable with leaving her and Dia beneath the trusted care of Alkaid.
He had to keep in mind that he could not get cocky, that they had a task and a goal that they needed to accomplish and he had to keep Wolfeite in line while simultaneously keeping an eye on Zircon to ensure that she did not get in over her head too quickly. He trusted she could take care of herself for the most part, as long as she didn't have to run but -
That was here nor there, with Titanlåvenite lending the woman his support. The man was a hulking beast and the general could appreciate the strength, finesse, that he undoubtedly commanded. Though he would not voice it with so many prying ears, and because Zircon would likely be displeased if he did, he was thankful for the blond man's help. It allowed him to focus on the expanse of land before them.
The graveyard was unlike anything he'd expected, with the decomposing bits that remained and the lack of anything to lend them a clue to what they might need to do. At least, he knew they were looking for a piece of a greater youma, that told him plenty.
"Come," he ordered stepping towards the edge that slipped into treacherous pathway down. "Keep close. If we are looking for bone from a greater youma there is unbelievable traces of chaos that cling to it's form." He remembered what it was like to touch a piece of one at all and how he'd been steered away from the second one. "Stay close. We should be able to teleport - " he stopped suddenly aware of the silver haired woman who was most certain not capable of teleporting.
He ran his tongue along teeth. "I didn't see you there," he admitted, wondering when he'd become so caught up in something else to not realize that someone was trailing along with them. "My name is General Labyrinthite," he extended his hand to her with a dark brow arched. "I do not recognize you so I will not pretend to know what you are capable of but - stay close and we" a pointed look to his two captains, "Will do our best to aid you as needed."

She had been following the group quietly. It wasn't a difficult feat, considering much of the negaverse weren't interested in talking. As they had progressed down their path, a feeling of unrest, and mild fear had settled into the very bones of her being. She made a habit of staying out of the rift, not feeling the particular need to deliberately face against life-threatening creatures. Although that wasn't currently in her favor..
During her stroll, she accidentally bumped into Captain Wolfeite's back when General Labyrinthite stopped his crew. A slight wince at the slight pain, but moreso at the thought of her face being a casualty -- considering it was one of her best assets, she would have preferred to keep it safe (more or less). That shallow thought quickly disappeared though, as soon as she heard the General's directions and awareness of her presence. His questioning stare had her feel slightly embarrassed, having little interactions with such high-ranking officers. Even more so, to have her weakness pointed out.
Though she should have been aware that she was intruding on a general's crew -- after all, each officer was under a specific direction of a commanding officer.. But for a lieutenant whose general had been amiss, Zink, she hadn't exactly had a helping hand or tutelage in regards to the organization. Not that she faulted him, it simply made her unprepared for large-scale missions such as these.
"Lt. Serpierite." Her manners prompted her to introduce herself with a graceful bow and confidence she didn't currently feel. His offer of help caused a flicker of surprise in her eyes. "General Labyrinthite.. that is kind of you to say so. But I don't wish to become a hindrance." Her rank and inability to teleport had already stopped their plans, and she had no desire to see them suffer a failure due to her incompetence.

Half Youma Captain Wolfeite
The Rift was, to Wolfeite, somewhere he had been very recently, with obvious results. The blackness and the shadows stretched out towards them, purple silhouettes in the dark, and glowing eyes could be seen here and there, the youma watching, waiting.
He was a part of them now, in one way. Wolfeite wasn't sure if he felt unnerved by this or strengthened by it, eyes narrowed as he followed along with Labyrinthite, Serpierite, and the one he'd learned was called Zircon, accompanied by a towering, massive man whom Wolfeite was undeniably curious about.
He was quiet, however, on the walk into the Rift, tail flicking behind him. Wolfeite let his gaze run across the bones left behind, narrowing slightly, reminded, pleasantly, of his new ability to teleport through Labyrinthite's instructions. A handy new tool, no doubt, especially considering that with Tourmaline's promotion, almost all of the recruits were capable of it.
Almost. Wolfeite's golden eyes slid towards Serpierite, the one who was an outlier, as Labyrinthite introduced himself. She'd bumped into him again when they'd stopped, but this time he hadn't done more than just let out a small growl between his teeth, holding himself steady so that she wouldn't topple over.
She could still be put to good use. A lieutenant, a polite one, by the looks of things. Wolfeite's ears flattened down into his hair.
"I'll climb down with you," he said roughly. Teleporting would take energy, after all. Wolfeite's eyes went to Labyrinthite, and for once he was remaining relatively under control, his tail curling around his leg.
"Unless one of us wants to take her with us."

Corrupt Eternal Chrysocolla
Chrysocolla self-consciously patted down her hair, knotted her fingers, and took a look around to make sure she wasn't the only corrupt here. (If she was, well, that would have made this the stupidest decision she'd ever made.) At least there were two others...? Well. She recognized the blue-haired boy from General Osumilite's meeting, all that time ago.
...He probably wouldn't be much help. Eugh. From what she remembered, he'd been kind of a self-obsessed jerk. The sort of millennial that people thought typicalized them all.
The other one, though...whoever she was, she looked -- grown-into her power. Not still uncomfortable in it, in the way Chrysocolla was. Her tight dress, her tightly-curled hair, the bright green sash...well. She'd need to talk with Eternal Mystery, later. Or if they had free time. She didn't want to seem needy.
Chrysocolla cleared her throat and stated, calm-voiced, clear-voiced, definitely not shaking: "Does anyone need a teleport down to the bottom of the cliff? If it's safe, I can take people with me."
[Chrysocolla is open for interaction!]

Lieutenant Marcasite
Xenotime was right in assuming that her lieutenant had not yet made her way into the Rift. She'd wanted to but with her channel and the invasion, the clean up that followed, there hadn't been time. Though, the pale haired woman mused, now was the best time to explore it.
A youma wasteland was a pretty tempting thing.
Though, the lieutenant wished that she was stronger - like that girl who'd been promoted by their deity before everyone - but it was clear that it was not yet her time. That was fine, she had her fists and she trusted that her general would come if there was something her limbs could not handle.
One day she'd have a real weapon. Marcasite just hoped that day would be sooner rather than later.
"Beautiful," the woman remarked as she trekked along with the others, glancing at Natrolite out of the corner of her blue eyes. It was cute, in her opinion, that he was even remotely jealous or envious of her. She could play with that and it was terribly tempting to do so. The other two men were regarded with minor interest but as it were - she was still trying to get a read on them and with the hustle and bustle of everything else she hadn't gotten a chance.
Xenotime's fingers were brushing along her jawline and she leaned into the touch only to watch as the woman teleported down to the bottom and appeared to wait, challenging them to hurry.
It was then that she lamented the heels on her boots but she took it in stride. "See you at the bottom," she told the boys, offering all of them a salute and Natrolite a wink before embarking down the slick slope. She slid slightly as she descended but for the most part managed to stay up right, even if she cursed the way her heels tried to catch on the few divots.

General Labyrinthite
He was impressed with the way Serpierite greeted him and while his expression was still relatively stoic, there was a shine of pride evident in his amber eyes. "You won't be a hindrance," he stated confidently. It had been no secret that this trip was best suited for the combat strong and if the woman decided that it was worth risking, there had to be something he could use and direct. And if not?
Well, General Labyrinthite was confident enough in his own abilities to be certain that at the very least he could handle whatever obstacle they faced.
"This will be but a learning experience for you, what better way to acquaint yourself than to get right into the thick of things?" He asked. The man had always preferred a hands on approach to lessons and thought that this would be a perfect training outing for new blood, depending on how active the woman had been prior to the calling.
That was when the solider made a note to look in on the lieutenant, perhaps, if she proved herself useful, he would keep tabs on her after. It never hurt to expand his circle of those he could call upon as needed.
"I can take her, it'll expend less energy than if you or the other captains do it. My ability to teleport is not as limited as yours," he decided offering his half-youma captain a nod of approval. The restraint he was showing was more than Labyrinthite had expected and it pleased him.
Perhaps a reward was in store for Wolfeite if the behavior persisted. "I could take you both," he looked between Serpierite and Wolfeite before glancing at Zircon and her much larger companion. He was certain that he didn't need to extend the offer to Zircon, who would want to do it on her own or at the very least that the generous man carrying her would assist her once again. "Expend less energy, I'd rather you keep your strength for battle."

Lieutenant Prehnite
The walk was entirely worth it, he'd never been able to see so deep into the rift, nothing beyond the barest borders, and an occasional trip to Iolanthes den.
It made him wish even more to be a general, if only so he could have his own youma to summon to his side. The rift was fascinating, from it's crystals to its creatures, and a surprising elephant graveyard of Youma bones. If not for the lurking shadows at their backs and within the graveyard itself; he might have been tempted to explore it for his own sake.
"It's stunning..though it also looks like it'll be hell to get out of once we're down in there." He'd always assumed most Youma turned to dust, to know that there were those powerful enough to leave something of substance behind; to wonder at why all the bones seemed to be 'here', as opposed to scattered across the rift.
He watched Xenotime teleport herself to the bottom, and he had to chuckle at the fact that she'd left them to find their own ways down. Whether for a test of her recruits skills or sheer amusement he couldn't parse. Prehnite however wasn't about to toss himself down a cliff so long as he had the option not to.
"We'll see you down there." Nodding to Marcasite and the others, while pulling his trowel into existence just in case there were things waiting for them once they were down. He moved from peering over the edge of the cliff, to scan those that had come with them.
Watching the others, he knew he could take the hard way down, the risky way, or he could take the smart way down.
"I'd be happy to take you up on your offer. Lt. Prehnite, it's a pleasure to meet you." He smiled at Chrysocolla as he introduced himself. She looked almost familiar..just like some of the others, he couldn't place if he'd seen her before..in a battle..a prison? It didn't matter, he'd personally found himself a fan of Corrupt senshi since meeting Ochre.

General LeuciteThe walk had not been nearly as long as his week long foray into the Rift, but it had been relaxing all the same. There was a strange peacefulness to the Rift in Lecuite's opinion. Why, yes, everything there did want to tear you apart and devour your soul, but that was just part of the deal. He'd managed to survive a week there, with some minor injury in the pursuit of spiritual purification. Entering the Rift now felt like entering the Garden of Eden. Peaceful and Serene. When they reached the cliff that lead down into the graveyard, the concept that he could easily teleport down did not escape Leucite. However, that left the two Lieutenants in his care forced to climb or slide down on their own, and that did not sit well with him. Removing his sashes he tied them together, and then shrugging off his coat, he cut several long strips from the bottom with his spear. Tying them all together he tested the knots and the strength before finally tossing one end to Raspite and the other to Stibnite. "Stibnite, tie up and help Raspite if he can't get a good knot. I want you two to belay down there. I'll climb solo." With that, he walked to the cliff face and looked down, looking for some decent foot and hand holds before turning and lowering himself down to start to climb down. "See you at the bottom!" He called to them both, before starting his climb. If he slipped, he could always teleport before he hit the ground.

Lt. Serpierite
The young lieutenant was probably not aware of how much restraint Wolfeite was exerting. That made her no less appreciative of his offer to accompany her on the way down. Even delivered in his rough manner, it didn't change the intention behind it. Even after she had given them the option to leave her behind. If it had been appropriate, she would've given him a more heart felt thank you, but she settled on a genuine grin. Though she was confident in her abilities of motility, a slight error might prove fatal. It would have been a shame if she died so early in the mission, which was undoubtedly the first test of many that would happen.
From this first test alone, the young girl was beginning to see how cruel and merciless their leader could be. She could care less if her ranks diminished , which was probably why the negaverse was short-handed.But it appeared that her generals did not follow in the same footsteps. General Labyrinthite was much kinder than the lieutenant had expected. She wasn't naive enough to believe that it was out of like, not this early on when they had yet to see each other's character. But even if his reassurance was born of only a modicum of interest, she was grateful to have the general help her. His mention of a learning experience might be harsh to some people, but considering their current mission, she was well aware there was no other way to strengthen herself. "I hope that I might meet your expectations." She made a mental note to later inquire about this general, to see what his officers thought about him. She had a great deal of questions that could only be answered by someone with a great deal of experience in the organization. It would be nice if she had someone to ask, to confer with.
"Thank you for the kind offer, as I would hate for Captain Wolfeite to suffer on my behalf." Since their energy reserves were limited after all, "I'll take you up on it." She inched closer to him, taking care to notice the rest of the group that had accompanied him. She quickly glanced over to Zircon and Titanlåvenite two people she didn't recognize, but she was sure that she would at least be acquainted with them before the mission was over. She was mostly sure that they had heard her introduction. If they hadn't, she would have introduced herself again.
At first glance, she appeared to be weak. And right now, she was. But brushing her hair back, occasionally a cold look entered her teal eye -- merely analyzing, assessing the graveyard of bones located beneath them. Potential, if she did end up surviving. Or maybe not when she purposely said in a cheerful tone, "My, oh my. It does look intimidating down there doesn't it?"

Half Youma Captain Wolfeite
He disliked having to play the obedient hound, but there was no other choice for it. In order to get what it was that he wanted, he wold have to have Labyrinthite as an ally, not as an enemy, and to have that would require submitting to him in more ways than one.
It was aggravating, angering, loathsome. But he did it anyway, because sacrifices were necessary to achieve one's goals.
The black fabric covering the lower half of his face hid Wolfeite's snarling sneer from view, though his eyes glittered a little as he shifted his attention briefly from his general and Serpierite to look out across the wide expanse of the graveyard once more.
"There are more youma down there," he said, golden eyes narrowing slightly; the shadows were nothing to him with his new abilities, the darkness merely a small facet, never a hindrance. "I can see them moving, but I don't know what kind they are."
Wolfeite's gaze turned back to the girl, and he gave her a slow once over, scrutinizing her without comment, ears once more pointing straight up, no longer flat against his hair. He gave a dutiful nod and turned to look at the destination, tail flipping behind him.
There was no I'll meet you down there. That was unnecessary. Wolfeite simply shifted and teleported.

Lieutenant Natrolite For awhile the petty jealousy was lost as they walked along in the Rift. Natrolite could feel the hiding eyes among them. It was unsettling to someone who was a close range fighter, not being able to clearly see the enemy. Shoulders remain loose and body generally at the ready as the walk dragged on. Waiting for the moment that those in the shadows decided that stalking wasn't nearly as much fun as the pounce. Something Natrolite understood all too well, something for once the man took seriously. Though there was a bit of ease to mind as Natrolite settled himself in between other bodies strategically. Steps still ahead and stormy eyes shifted from where they had eyed something. Now at forward attention and noticing a bundle of paused Negaverse soldiers. Moving up steadily Xenotime was honestly ignored for a few breaths as the brunette peered over the edge. Damn that didn't look fun at all, why the hell was he doing this again? Xenotime's voice broke though what little concentration Natrolite had mustered and eyes swung back in time to see the touch then the general go. "You've gotta be ******** kiddin me..." The teleport had been unexpected, a glance to the bottom and an ever eager finger was lifted just below Xenotime's sight to flip her off. God damn it, why the hell couldn't he do that? A ruffle of a frustrated hand through brown hair and the Lieutenant took a step back. Watching as others tied things to keep them all together, as some just took right down and others cautiously skidded down. Marcasite caught attention via wink and Natrolite gave the teacher's pet a smirk, lifting hand and flicking out a ringed tongue between two fingers. It was all in good fun though, since the man didn't take anything too seriously. As Marcasite started down Natrolite stepped back to the edge, a boot digging into the ground there as eyes landed on the sliding woman, calling after her. "..Don't break ah heel honey." For a moment, a glance to Xenotime was given, a dangerous dare to eye that begged to misbehave. Asking how smart the golden girl was to go down ahead of someone that clearly wanted her to mess up. But the foot lifted without and a roll of eyes came. On a heavy sigh a look to the others in their tiny party was given then the lieutenant turned back to look down. Spotting Leucite climbing his way down, smart, why not borrow the idea it was working. So Natrolite walked the edge looking for the best place then started to climb down himself, there was a few choice curse words given under breath when a foot slipped up. But Natrolite was well strong enough to support himself with just upper-body strength which meant dangling for a second was fine as feet found themselves a groove. Near the bottom and at a distance he wouldn't get hurt Natrolite kicked off and landed upright, damn pleased with himself, even if a little sweaty now.

Lt. Stibnite
Being this was Stibnite's first time in the Rift and if she had to be honest...she didn't see why in the world this had been Leucite's choice of spot to disappear to for a week. It was dark, creepy, everything looked the same. And she had a deep feeling that something was tracking them...alot of something.
For someone used to being the Hunter, Stibnite did not enjoy this feeling.
Nor did she enjoy standing on the edge of a cliff listening to Generals and Captains leave or guilt the lieutenants they were with that lack the ability to teleport. But she kept her mouth shut as her eyes moved back from the cliff to the actions of Leucite. It took her two seconds to dawn on her what was going on.
Silently, she death glared into the back of the General's head. It wasn't that she didn't like Raspite. It was more she didn't like being tied to anyone. Stibnite could climb...she had general knowledge of it. Heck, she had enough knowledge and the flat shoes that she would have been more than happy to just slide down the cliff face.
But she kept her mouth shut, took the make s**t rope and handed one end to Raspite. "If he walks out of here, I recommend sleeping with earplugs tonight..." Stibnite snipped. "Anyway, as long as we go slow, we will be fine." She added with a half smile. Her annoyance wasn't at Raspite after all but the big lug before them.
"Climb next to me and make sure you test every hole your hand or foot goes into. At all times consider the potential that one of us will fall. So you have to be prepared to cling to that wall for one hell of a jerk."
