Name: Keline (Kel or Lili to those close to her) Stage: Prentice Race: Alkidike, Prentice -> Blade -> Warrior -> Guardian (spear)Gender: Female 3 Base Traits: Envious | Curious | Guileless Personality: Guileless - Despite Kel's aunt's incessant rants about earthlings — and subsequent exile — Kel is an innocent sort. She tends to find the good in people before the bad. As a trusting person, Kel is open to many hurts in her future and, depending on how things play out, this is the one personality trait that she may eventually lose. For the most part she's very childlike in her trusting. Because of all this, she is also a straightforward sort. She doesn't hide who she is. What you see is what you get with her.
Compassionate - Keline has — and always will be — a caring and compassionate person. She will try her best to help those in need no matter who they are. This, along with her trusting personality, may lead to future problems for the alkidike.
Religious - Despite the move — and despite her apparent interest in earthlings — Kel still strongly believes in Aisha. She worships her goddess daily and hopes to one day travel back to Chibale Isles to pray to her goddess for a family. Kel, however, does not believe as some of her other alkidike sisters. She does not see her, or anyone else, as superiors to the others inhabiting Tendaji. She also does not think that she is entitled to any certain land. She believes that Aisha cares for all those residing in Tendaji and wishes that they could all live peacefully.
Curious - Kel has always had a curious personality. She watches and she learns. She also has a habit of spying on neighboring shifters whenever she gets a chance — her curiosity over the earthlings plays a large part of this personality trait.
Envious - Along with her curiosity, Kel is also envious of the earthlings. They are able to roam the whole of Tendaji (she wishes to eventually travel) and they have men. Though this part of her interests won't develop until she's around 16 (will be playing her at 14 at first).
Clumsy - Her whole life Kel has been a clumsy being. As a child she would take off running and promptly fall flat on her face. As a teen and young adult, her clumsyness will affect a lot of her dealings with her chose class and her ability to use a spear. Description: Body/Markings | Hair w/ baubles and suchClothing: Outfit. No arm bands, boots or stockings. Maybe no hip cape (or whatever you call that thing)...will leave that up to the artist. I'm gonna leave final color choices up to the artist...but would also like to see a wip of the flats, if possible, before shading and such starts (also, I dislike dark/deep greens...so none of those, please). Accessories: --- History: Keline’s life began on Isle Amara. As a baby she grew into her toddler years on the island, surrounded by family and various other sister alks. When she grew older, however, her life was uprooted. Her biological aunt had a partner that was an elder. And as such was tasked with helping those alkidikes that had settled down on Jauhar, in Andile. This meant that her aunt would be moving as well. Keline’s mother, knowing of her sister’s dislike of the earthlings, thought it would be best to go with them and keep an eye on her sister — to make sure she didn’t do anything stupid. She also seen it as a way to get her daughters out into the world — to experience a place other than the Chibale Isles. Things were wonderful for a few years. They settled down — Kel’s aunt and her partner not far from Kel’s little family — and, between elder duties, the family grew closer and enjoyed their time in a new setting. As time passed by, and Kel grew older, she developed a curiosity about the earthlings — especially the shifters that lived in a village not far from her own. They were vastly different from her and her alk sisters. There were even a few hybrids living in the village — one of which Kel quickly became friends with. Kel’s aunt, however did not like this. Kel’s mother did her best to shelter her two daughters from her sister’s hate, but it was hard to do so when one of her children was already a teenager and spending more and more time with her beloved aunt. Kel, for the most part, didn’t let her aunt’s words affect her opinions on earthlings much. They couldn’t all be bad, could they? Four years passed without major trouble — though her aunt did get into a few fights against neighboring shifters — and things were going well until her aunt’s partner was found slaughtered in the woods between Andile and Ast. No one could determine how it had happened or who had done it but Kel’s aunt instantly blamed the neighboring shifters. Earthlings, after all, were nothing but vile, violent creatures. As time passed, her aunt’s hatred only grew and she was soon joining a group of alks known as the extremists. Kel’s mother feared for her sister’s safety, and that of her daughters. It took all that she had to keep Kel’s older sister from getting too involved in her aunt’s dealings. When the extremists moved, Kel’s aunt moved with them. And when the extremists were banished, so too was her aunt. Confused, Keline could only watch as her aunt was taken from her. Still, she did not harbor any ill will towards the earthlings. The choice to fight had been her aunt’s and her aunt’s alone. Fueled by a hatred — deserved or not — her aunt had essentially torn their little family apart. Now, Kel watched as her sister’s anger grew as well. Only time would tell what would happen next.

Woo Pure Alk!
Keline is very much a different, peace loving Alk. How did she interact with other sisters who were raised with not so tolerant feelings? How did she deal with her lessons and teachings that contradicted her own feelings? Obviously she had a hybrid friend (which was somewhat accepted) but what about the other feelings? did she willingly share these opinions with others, or keep them to herself based on how her Aunt (and possibly surrounding Sisters) acted? I guess, mainly, was she aware of how different she was?
You talk about Men, and Alkidikes actually do not have reproductive organs so they don't think about things in terms of reproduction drive. So what is it about men that fascinates her? There are some Alks with similar structure to them, but not a lot, so is it how men are built, or something else? What's the trigger that really draws her into the opposite sex, and how do you think that'll influence her curiosity moving forward?

x] Yissss. The alks are the race that made me subscribe to Tendaji years ago. Wish I'd gotten into the shop then but I was shy. But now I'm wiggling my way in. x] Still a little shy buuuut, yeah. xDD Anyway...to answer your questions. Kel is very different. Tried to tell her alks were supposed to hate earthlings but she was having none of that. As a child and through her early to mid teens she mostly kept her opinions to herself. She definitely realizes she's different than most of her alk sisters. As she grows into her late teens and into adulthood, her opinions will start coming to the surface. It'll be obvious how she feels once she starts exploring and meeting people other than her sisters. Her hybrid friend I'm going to play up more in her solos, probably. Gonna be part of her life for a while, at least. And her friend will know about her opinions early on. Her family knows, of course, and her biological sister will probably call her stupid on several occasions. Her aunt tries to change her mind but her mother is where she gets her attitude towards earthlings from. So her mother encourages Kel. I do realize alks don't have reproductive organs. So it's not so much a sexual attraction as it is just a fascination. She knows they're different. As a child, when she lived on Isle Amara, all she saw were females. And while I'm sure there are male hybrids in Andile, the majority I would assume are still female. So it's the differences that attracts her the most (the build of males and such). She most definitely doesn't discriminate, romantically, between genders but there will always be that slight fascination with men. As far as influencing her future...I think she'll do a looot of flirting when she gets older (with both sexes but more so with the men). And I do think she'll have at least one romantic interest that is male.

So alkidikes can also wander the whole of Tendaji. Why is she envious of this aspect? Nothing is keeping her from going all the way to Zena or Matori! Or is there?
(also your history's first paragraph is duplicated in the second on.)
And cause its traditional of me to ask this: what makes her angry? She's a chill sort of person, super nice and all that.. didn't she get upset at all when her aunt started hating on her friends? Didn't she try to defend her friends when her aunt started in on them?

robot kitten So alkidikes can also wander the whole of Tendaji. Why is she envious of this aspect? Nothing is keeping her from going all the way to Zena or Matori! Or is there? (also your history's first paragraph is duplicated in the second on.) And cause its traditional of me to ask this: what makes her angry? She's a chill sort of person, super nice and all that.. didn't she get upset at all when her aunt started hating on her friends? Didn't she try to defend her friends when her aunt started in on them? At this point in her life, she's too young. That part of her history was coming from the mind of a little girl. When I first start playing her she'll be 14 (on the younger end of the prentice stage). So, since she's unable to travel alone and her mother is staying put...she's envious. The mind of a child is not a rational thinking one all the time. xP (oops! Sorry about that, haha. Thanks for pointing that out. It's actually not repeated...the first paragraph is what I originally started out with but then changed things.) Sure, she'll get upset, but at that time she'll be very young (preteen, at least). Her aunt's views are not something she agrees with. She's a very timid being when she's younger, though, and will mostly keep that to herself. Her aunt will be gone by the time she's older and expressing herself more. But she will definitely get into fights with her sister over these subjects. I never went into detail about what her aunt does. Just stated that she didn't like it. Most likely her aunt would try to persuade her to change her mind about her hybrid friend (just one, actually...I only mentioned one...she'll make more friends once I get her and she's older). Since this won't be played out at all, since the aunt will be gone when Kel's history meets up with her present, I didn't think much about delving into it. Kel will defend her friend but, as stated before, she's very timid and it wouldn't be as much as she might...had her aunt been around to do or say things when Kel was older.

It probably will, also, be a while before she leaves Jauhar. Her mother's biological sister is gone and then things will happen with Kel's sister that just upsets her mother even more. So Kel will definitely stick around Anilde longer than she'd like to.
