Zaku paced the room back and forth. Pausing every so often to stare at the map spread out on the table. He seemed nervous, frazzled even.
Lucian sat backwards in a chair at the table, his eyes slid back and forth following along as Zaku paced. He sighed with exasperation as he leaned the chair forward onto two legs. "You're going to give yourself grey hair thinking that hard.."
Zaku shook his head. "I'm literally walking to my death. That's it. I'm going to end up dying."
"I think you need to just relax..."
Zaku shot him a glare, then his face softened and he sighed. "Maybe I'm overthinking this..."
"I'll say..."
"You wouldn't have this problem if you just went with my plan..."
"I can't do that, Cordelia. Do you know what that would cause if they caught on. There's no way I'm jeopardizing the safety of others with that plan."
"Then I'll be watching.."
"No you won't. You'll stay here like I told you to and wait for further commands."
"Hey, Zaku, why don't we play a game... like old times.."
Zaku looked to Lucian with a raised eyebrow, then looked away thinking. "...I don't know.."
Lucian grinned at him. "Come on... what are you scared of? Scared you'll lose to me again?"
Zaku looked at him sternly, "I've never lost to you.." he commented.
"Really? Maybe we should test that..."
"Zaku. Lucian. I don't advise it."
A grin began to form on his face, "Huh... same rules as always?"
His grin widened. "Of course... Same course, first one to rendezvous F wins."
Zaku lowered, ready to move as he nodded at Lucian with a smile.
"Stop, this is crazy! You guys are seriously going to do this now?!"
The two stared at each other intently for a few moments and then both took off, bolting through the front door and into the street, running quickly down the alleyway and emerging into the sidewalk as they sprinted as fast as they could through the streets.

xZaku took off much faster than Lucian imagined he would as he took the lead quickly. He rounded a corner and jumped up, pushing himself further up with a step against the wall, and pulling himself up and over the railing at the top of the side of the stairs. Planting feet briefly before taking off again down the more empty sidewalk, wizzing by the few passerbyers as he ducked into an open abandoned building. 'I need to get higher...' he thought as he darted through the building and ran into an elevator and pressed the close button as fast as he could, catching sight of Lucian farther behind. "What, oh I'm sorry, I'm holding the open button, I swear, I don't know why it won't work!!" he called out playfully, a huge grin on his face as the doors closed way before Lucian could reach them.

xLucian tried to keep up, running as fast as he could to catch up. 's**t, how can a guy who just got out of coma run so damn fast?!' This was almost an embarassment how far behind he was. He saw Zaku run into the elevator, and he ran as fast as his legs would take him only trying to stop just as the door closed, though not enough time as he slammed into the closed elevator doors. "s**t!!" he cursed as he stumbled back and then turned without hesitation and sprinted for the stairs. He stumbled a bit as he ran up the stairs, still slightly disoriented from the collision. He was getting out of breath as he reached the top floor and looked over to see the elevator open and empty as a glimpse of pink darted around the other corner a ways a way. Taking a deep breath, he took off running again after him, attempting to catch up once again.

xZaku couldn't help but bust out laughing as the large thud against the door was heard. Almost doubling over, as the elevator made it's way quickly to the top. The moment the door were open enough for him to squeeze through, he bolted out and took off into a sprint, not even seeing Lucian at this point. He ran across the empty office building and picked up speed just before launching himself through an already broken open window and coming to a roll as he landed on the roof of another building across the way, continuing into a run across the gravel lined roof, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, his goal looking like the river at the edge of town as he jumped and flipped his way through the city via the roofs. He took a cursory look back to see if he could see Lucian, as he did he was surprised to see him so far back. "What's wrong, tired already?" he called out to him with a laugh.

xLucian had a look of determination as he chased after Zaku, jumping through the window and coming to a roll, kicking up gravel as he came to a stand and quickly into a mad dash in an attempt to bridge the gap. He was gaining, but not fast enough, at this rate, he'd easily be beaten and Lucian wasn't going to have that. Instead of leaping from the rooftops to follow Zaku, he decided to take a little detour, he jumped short of the next set of buildings, landing on the side of a fire escape with a loud CLANG. He then released and grab on to the next set of bars in the next floor, continuing to descend 4 floors before coming to a stomp on the ground below and taking off down the alleyway and throwing himself around the corner to run down the street again, keeping an eye on Zaku as he watched him jump from ledge to ledge above. He jumped, placing a hand on the brick ledge as he thrusted himself over and flipped to land at the bottom of the large set of sideways stairs. He wasn't even paying attention to the eyes on him as onlookers watched him sprint through the city.

xZaku took another glance and was surprised to not see Lucian behind him, as he turned he jumped the next ledge, he didn't anticipate how far the gap was as he stumbled a bit coming down to the next building, he darted through the railings of a small set of metal stairs on one of the roofs the jump down to land on the fence below it, however he didn't expect to be so unstable as it buckled and swayed under his weight and he lost balance and fell back to the ground with a hard thud, knocking a bit of wind out of him as he gasped and coughed. Wincing a bit he arched his body and threw himself back up to his feet and shook off the injury and scaled back over the fence and continued running, jumping to the next roof quickly. That little mess up would definitely cost him time, hopefully he had been in the lead enough that he could still beat Lucian.

xLucian was already regretting choosing the lower path as dodging through people was getting harder and harder. Turning to the street itself, he ran down the side of it, jumping clear over oncoming cars. This was getting frustrating and he hadn't seen Zaku in a while. Maybe he had fallen behind. He dart back out of the street and into the park, jumping to step up over a park bench and throw himself with one arm over the wall that enclosed the park and landed on the smaller wall on the other side as he fumble lightly and almost fell, kicking off to running off not in the right direction for a moment before curving back his sprint into the right direction. That was when he spotted Zaku a some ways ahead still on the rooftops. "Dammit!" he was gritting his teeth and forcing himself to run as fast as he possibly could just to keep up at this point.

xZaku spotted Lucian again, solidifying his lead as he laughed. Well at least he was still winning, he jumped up a higher ledge of the roof, pushing himself over with one hand but was alarmed to find the building that used to be there on the other side had been demolished as it was a free drop behind the ledge. "s**t!" he exclaimed as he forcefully gripped onto the ledge as to not let go, though his hand slipped and he fell from the roof. Frantically grabbing onto a piece of ledge a ways down, he redirected his momentum to throw himself through a window of the next floor, rolling through the glass to a stand as he grimaced and forced himself to keep running. He ran down the hallway of the apartment building and grabbed onto the railing of the stairs, swinging his body around to fling himself down the stairs quickly. He needed to get back outside if he stood a chance of keeping the lead. He bolted down the flights of stairs then slammed the front door of the building open as he ran out into the street, dodging a car as he reoriented himself to keep dashing toward the goal. It was almost in site as he could see the bridge that spread over the river just in the distance. He just needed to keep going and he had it in the bag.

xLucian jumped to the side of a stairwell and slid down the side banister as he jumped down and full sprinted back into the street again, dodging by cars, and jumping over a few that crossed the intersections. The bridge was in sight, the goal, the finish line. He just had to get there. Thinking about it, he lost sight of Zaku again. No matter, the finish was so close he could taste it as he gave it all he had. Suddenly Zaku slammed through the doors to his right and almost ran into him as Lucian stumbled a bit but kept his run as Zaku was only a few feet ahead of him, so close he could probably grab him if he tried hard enough. They were neck and neck now as Lucian was filled with such determination. "You're going down, Zaku!" he exclaimed then grinned as he kept pace with him now. Running through a park he dove through the chains of the swing, tucking into a roll as he sprung back up to his feet making a mad dash for the last bit, it wouldn't be long before they reached the rendezvous point.

xZaku regained his bearings as he heard Lucian taunt him. "Oh yeah? Because I'm pretty sure you're still losing!!" he called back with a hardy laugh as he jumped up the kid's ladder in two steps and in one smooth motion, dove down the metal slide, then rolling forward, springing up as well to run with more momentum than before. He ran up to the wall that lead to the river, jumping up into a side flipping, landing into a slide on the other side as he came to stop down in the underside of the bridge, then turned, running underneath the bridge. Cordelia was standing there waiting for the two of them with a stern look. She held up her hand reluctantly as Zaku ran by, tagging her hand as he slowed to a halt behind her and fell to his hands and knees out of breath. "...take that... lucian.." he forced out breathlessly.

xLucian threw himself over the ledge toward the river, but over gauged how much force he needed to clear it as he hit the incline hard and tumbled a bit before being thrown clear into the river. It was deep enough that he began to panic, unable to find anything to grab onto as he began to drown.

"Oh s**t, Lucy!!" she exclaimed as she watch him throw himself into the river. "Zaku, help him!!"
Zaku forced himself into a stand as he threw off his jacket and ran to the edge immediately diving into the river after Lucian. Swimming down toward his sinking body, he grabbed onto him and began to surface with him. His body so tired, he could barely keep Lucian afloat. Dragging him to the edge and shoving him up onto the ledge. He couldn't exactly pull himself up but thankfully Cordelia reached down and helped him out. He laid there soaking wet next to Lucian and exhaled heavily. "You still alive..?"
"...barely..." he managed to mumble through coughing.
"What was that about winning?" he joked lightly, laughing a bit.
"Shutup.." he retorted in embarrassment and sighed.
"Come on, you two. You've had your fun, now let's go before the Skank's Idiot Unit swoops in to try to capture us all..." she placed a hand on her hip with annoyance. She then formed a shadow around the three of them and then faded away with no trace left of them.
