Why was she here? In a dark alleyway, off the corner of a nearby popular club -- To any passerby, it was a couple involved in a heady makeout, ignorant of the world. But to Lt. Serpierite, it was quite the different story. She already had her target in mind. Kissing wasn't anything important to the silver-hair woman, the insignificance comparable to breathing. It was easy for her to slip seamlessly into her element of deception and darkness. The transition of her personas from civilian to negaverse was seamless, especially when he was too distracted to even notice her clothes. He wasn't necessarily her type, so it wasn't a shame when her fingers brushed lightly over his chest under the pretense of foreplay. She let her lips curve into a smile at how defenseless he was. Her hand plunged into his chest, ignoring his gasp of surprise and pain. She quickly siphoned the energy she needed.
"Ahh, what a shame. I'm still so unsatisfied~" She mentioned aloud, not to anybody in particular. "It's nothing personal, just work." She leaned over to tell him, not that it was going to help when he was slumped over in unconsciousness. From a side view, his body was obscured by nearby construction materials. From above, her actions were obvious. But she wasn't worried about any unexpected guests tonight.. not feeling the energy power of those in the white court. Those in the negaverse however.. she was admittedly less concerned about, since they shouldn't be intruding on her duties.
"Where am I going to find somebody else that actually suits?" Even though she had found her target for energy-siphoning, her personal need was not satiated.
"Or am I getting too old for this type of thing?" Clearly a sarcastic comment since the Lieutenant was still in her early twenties, and the prime of her beauty and life.

Lieutenant Crocoite still had a lot to learn. He was still relatively new to this whole Negaverse thing, and though he had a knowledgeable enough teacher, there was still so much he needed to learn about and experience.
Taking energy. It was something he really wanted to do, but not something he had much practice with just yet. And from there, he wanted to see what he could do with it, and how far he could push things. The possibilities could be endless, but first he had to learn the basics.
He felt the aura of someone else on his side and wandered toward it, holding his cane leisurely as he strolled. He didn't have to have it summoned, but he opted to anyway. A bit of class never hurt. When he spotted the other soldier, she was just finishing up with her energy drain, and he tilted his head curiously.
"Too old for what, I must wonder," he said, noting that she was definitely not older than he was, and he felt like he was still rather young in the game. Though, he supposed it depended on what game was at play, so to speak.

She noticed, but hadn't paid much heed to the energy signature drawing closer. She hadn't been too worried after all.. if she was careful about anything, it was about toeing the rules so that her superior officers could not find fault with her.
When it came up right behind her, she let her eyes flicker towards her fellow officer. His sandy brown hair, clear jade green eyes, combined with his masculine body.. well, it was intriguing. Interest gleamed in her eyes, and she lifted her head coquettishly. "My, oh my." There were a few in the Negaverse that piqued her interest, but more often than not; their ranks were often infested with younger, immature males. He was definitely not younger, or immature from the looks of it. Late twenties? Or even older? He looked mildly familiar, but she couldn't place it. She would have to wait and see on his personality though.
Turning around with one arm outstretched, she introduced herself with a bow. "I am Lieutenant Serpierite." Little concern was paid to the unconscious body slumped behind her.
His question brought a smile to her lips, seeing that he had overheard her light remark. "I was speaking about my old age." She affected a somber look "Far beyond my prime, and leading towards a tragic end." She completed it with a sniffle, and a false wipe of her tears. A pause followed, giving him enough time to react to her dramatics. She then continued, "Why don't you introduce yourself Lieutenant?" Her easy manner showed that she held no illusions of superiority, willing to greet a new entry as nicely as somebody who fought by her side for months. Unless they gave her a reason to dislike them..

"Lieutenant Crocoite," he said with a polite nod of his head, takng a step toward her and taking her hand lightly in his. He bowed his head and kissed her hand gallantly, if only because he could see she was someone who enjoyed a little game. He was all too glad to play along, and had no reason to think of her as an enemy or a bother.
He was willing to meet other members of the Negaverse, if only just because he needed to learn as much as he could and using others would be the best way to do that.
"You seem to have swept that fellow off his feet," he said, indicating with a nod toward the unconscious civilian. He wanted to know more about energy gathering, and starseed stealing, so he could begin experimenting with their uses. "He must not have thought you 'past your prime'."

His chivalrous introduction brought an enjoyable smile to her lips. If anything, this night was certainly improving. Folding her hands behind her back, she kept a careful eye on their surroundings.
As he indicated the unconscious fellow, she sighed, if only to remember how much of a disappointment he had been. "I wouldn't put too much stock in his opinion. He was foolish enough to run off with a stranger without any caution." Especially in this day and age where the negaverse ran rampant, the lack of recognition when it came to danger might cost him his life. However, she wasn't entirely heartless as she kneeled down to set his appearance to rights. As he spoke, she let her head fall back to look at the lieutenant. She let her gaze trail up, reading the implicit question in his eyes. So she wasn't mistaken in her initial conclusion that he was new to their organization.
Well~ She certainly didn't mind teaching him the little that she knew. She was well aware of how it was like to be on the bottom of the totem pole. Gesturing to him, "Perhaps you'd like to try? I only took enough to make my energy quota for this month, so he should still have quite a bit." The lieutenant didn't believe in taking any excess, despite her seemingly whimsical nature. Letting her hand trail lightly over where her own star seed was, she leaned in closer to Crocoite. "The corruption of your starseed, the chaos, allows us to reach into their chest. Not in the physical sense to their heart," That would be too messy, "but in a way that would let you access the core of their energy. Some people might call it a soul." It was clear that the lieutenant wasn't concerned with one might call it, since no matter the word, it all served the same purpose.
"Us lieutenants are quite weak, so we must physically make contact, focus, and draw out the energy." To demonstrate, she pulled out a small shard of purple energy. "Focus to keep it condensed and send it to the subspace --- the same space you store your weapon. If you want to kill them though, and through a much more painful process, you may rip out their starseed. I wouldn't advise it though." She smiled, but there was something indicating that it wasn't a wise choice to do in her presence. She had no desire to be a witness to senseless murder. If he wished to do so, he would have to do it on his own time.
Holding up a finger in the air, much like a teacher, her words continued in a cheerful tone contrary to their somber topic. "Consuming a starseed might save your life, but it's also highly addictive. So unless you're dying, I wouldn't advise that either."

"What a silly mistake to make," Crocoite scoffed, looking down at the man and shaking his head in mock disappointment. "One should always be discerning in their choice of partners, don't you think?"
He certainly was.
Well.
Crocoite nodded at her instructions, setting his cane in the crook of his arm and kneeling down to get on a more even level with the unconscious man. He considered his own hand for a moment, wondering just how they had the ability to reach inside someone, but trusting in this new, strange magic he had been granted.
He glanced at her, though, drawn from his thoughts when she said not to pull the starseed. It was exactly what he was thinking of doing, but he was a polite man, and would not cross a lady when she made a request. He offered her a gallant nod of his head, understanding, and simply touched the man and focused on drawing energy instead of trying to mess with the starseed sleeping inside his chest. Another time, perhaps.
Once he had a small orb of energy, he pulled his hand back, unable to hide his surprise and the bright flash of excitement that crossed his handsome face.
"Incredible."
