Sundays tended to be swim days for Briar and this Sunday had ended up being no different.
He had spent the free swim period playing lazily in the quiet pool, before calling it a day and getting out to get changed.
Briar had opted to head into town rather than heading straight and after finding somewhere quiet - in this case ducked behind an alleyway dumpster - had set out as Oort to do a bit of patrolling.
He was also planning to find somewhere to perhaps read through some more of the primer on his phone, his steps taking in the direction of the park, when he picked on the aura.
It wasn't one of the monster auras - well at least he was pretty sure it wasn't a monster aura since it didn't feel like one although it felt like it was pretty close.xLithiasaur hope this works as a start Lithia :3 Lmk if anything needs changing. Also happy for the pair to end up having to tackle a youma if you want

Cygnus had a roll of comics under his arm and was ready to put in the longest night of patrol he had so far. Which was probably only going to be a couple hours, but still. He was going to try and stay out later than bed time, and see if he could get away with it without his parents noticing.
He was pretty sure it would be fine.
They had no idea he was a super hero, of course, but they also had no reason to think he was anywhere but his room. So they probably would not try and find him... unless they did... or... maybe something went wrong and they had to go get him... or the house caught fire and they realized he wasn't there... or...
No, he wasn't going to worry about any of that. He had to do this, to be stronger and better! His parents would understand, if it came down to it. He was a super hero, damn it. He could do anything!
Sitting on the park bench now, though, he was feeling a little bored and less confident. Maybe staying out so late was a bad idea... and now he felt someone approaching him, which usually ended up in him getting into an argument or being embarrassed. Ugh.

As it happened it hadn't taken long for Oort to come across the source of the other aura.
He had reached the park by that point and had been heading towards the playground when he came across the other boy.
Although it would have been hard to miss the white-haired boy given that he was just sitting on a park bench and dressed like well a scarecrow.
Oort ambled over, waiting until he was closer before calling out "Lo" as his reddish eyes glanced briefly at the comics that the other had with him.

Cygnus saw the stranger approaching him and almost jumped out of his skin at the sight. Someone else near his age! And a boy! He was almost certain he was the only boy chibi senshi out here!
"Hi!"
He tried not to sound too excited, clearing his throat and shuffling his feet awkwardly for a moment. He tried to think of a better tactic, his instincts telling him to be mad about embarrassing himself and take it out on the new boy. That was not the way he needed to roll as a senshi, though, and he knew that.
He had to be NICE.
"I'm... I'm Sailor Cygnus, Chibi Senshi of Fear. It's uh. It's nice to meet you...? I was just... patrolling." From the bench. Because that made sense.

Oort wasn't really sure what to make about the whole feet shuffling which made it hard to tell if the other boy was really happy to see him or just saying so for whatever the reason.
He figured though that he would just take the other at his word however, because it was rare enough for him to come across people on his patrols...
Well apart from Euporie occasionally.
Although lately that was something that could be probably put down to the fact that it wasn't that long since he'd stopped being grounded after his Nega space adventures.
And either way it was kind of nice to see another face "I'm Chibi Oort" he told the other boy, adding "Well really the whole thing's Chibi Oort, Senshi of keys - but that's kind of long so feel free to just use Oort" he said before admitting "And I'm out on patrol too I guess" adding "I've been trying to keep an eye out for monsters but I haven't come across any so far."
He smiled a small but brief smile before adding "It's nice to meet another senshi though. Are you looking for the monsters too?"

"Keys? What kind of a power is that?"
He did not know too much about senshi magic, but considered them the same as X-Men style mutant abilities. His was Fear based, which made him pretty scary, right? But something like keys did not really seem to make much sense for a power...
What did he do? Make little keys and throw them at people?
"Yeah, I'm trying to find some. I mean. I was. I took a break. But I've killed a few monsters, you know! Turned them to dust." He grinned and puffed out his chest proudly, gloating. He could not help it, having a hard time finding things to be proud of, mostly. It was only recently, with being a senshi, that he had actually started to do things he liked.
Being a super hero was definitely what he always wanted. Even if he was trying to learn more and more.
"You wanna look for them together or something? If you want. I dunno."

"It's my magic" Oort pointed out as he tried to work out whether the other boy was curious about his magic or whether he was just trying to poke fun.
"It can make things stronger for a bit, although sometimes it makes them faster instead" he continued.
And whilst it wasn't the most impressive magic - not like Horatio and Tomlin with their lasers - it was still his magic.
It didn't stop Oort from wishing that he had a laser though.
"I've made the monsters do the dust thing too" he said, adding "Sticks tend to work best for that." Because at least in his case they did.
And then after thinking over Cygnus' offer for a few moments, he eventually nodded as he continued "And sure, I'm okay with looking for monsters with you."

"Keys make people faster?"
He wasn't sure he understood, but that was not unusual for Cygnus. He shrugged it off, hoping that maybe he will get a chance to see it in action if they found a youma to fight. It was actually one of the first times he found himself actually hoping to run into a monster.
Generally, he was more than happy to just... not.
"My magic is Fear. So I just... make things scared, I guess. I've only used it a couple of times, but it seems to work." It definitely distracted people, though he was not sure just how powerful it could be or how to use it right. He liked his comic books, and a lot of cool characters used fear as their powers. They were just... all mostly bad guys.
That probably didn't mean anything, though.
He made to start walking, motioning for Oort to follow him. They could probably find a youma somewhere in the park: it was usually pretty active as far as patrolling went.

He'd never really given much thought to the why the key that formed when he used his magic did that, although if he'd been asked to venture an opinion then he would have guessed that it had something to do with magic.
"Your magic sounds pretty cool though" he thought about it before adding "And I guess it makes it easier to make the monsters do the dust thing" because if the monsters were afraid then it meant that they were not causing trouble...
Well at least that was his take on it.
Oort had gotten a lot better at the whole aura thing since reading up on them in the Senshi primer, although that was probably in part a side effect from the time when he had gone to Nega space.
Because there had been lots of chaos auras there - lots and lots of them - particularly at the end. Especially at the end.
Even so it felt like they had been walking for a while before he finally felt the chill prickle of a chaos aura, his reddish eyes glancing over towards his white-haired companion as he asked "Did you feel that?"
Because whilst he couldn't be completely sure - it did feel kind of close.
