Fear had dominated every waking moment since she'd been released from the hospital. Faces of strangers had passed her by and each one she wondered is they were a negaverser, looking for her, at her, trying to see if they knew. At home she felt less safe. Each look, each face was a new fear. A new paranoia. She had nightmares, waking covered in cold sweats and heart pounding so bad she fought to breathe. Her mother and father knew nothing. All they knew was that their baby girl had gotten attacked by someone and gone free. They were not entirely wrong. They were just ignorant, and she didn't know how to tell them. They had gone for slightly concerned over the city to vocal hateful people, demanding anyone costumed be killed or arrested. She heard them lovingly tell her that the 'Senshi' terrorists would pay, that she was safe. But Jane wanted to cry. She was a senshi. To her parents, she was the monster. More and more, she wasn't sure they were wrong. Now, she was home before sundown. She never powered up. She never went to help anyone. School they whispered of her being 'damaged'. 'Broken.' 'Dead inside.' Jane hated what had happened, more, she hated the fact she was weak and she was going to die like this. She was going to die a weak stupid senshi and no one would mourn her. She was a monster. A terrorist. She should be dead. Jane had broken inside, and as the sun set, exactly four weeks after the near death experiences, she clutched her backpack in her arms. Home was just a short walk away, went in the encroaching darkness of night, she was left feeling afraid of all the shadows. The click of her shoes on pavement were rushed as she sped up, a sinking pit of dread pooling in her stomach as the deep orange glow of the sun began to fade over the horizon. It would be the first time since that she'd be late getting home.

TW: violence, blood, and gore Normally, Moonstone didn't chase after families when she was looking for starseeds; not because of any misguided sense of humanity trying to stay alive in the dark-haired Captain, but because families often had enough to live for that they could pose a problem.
She had been talking a walk around a suburban area, enjoying the day, when she heard a woman's voice talking about those "senshi terrorists". Said voice was joined by one other, masculine, that agreed. It piqued the woman's interest, so she powered up and came close -- she would offer them a choice: join the Negaverse or she would take their starseeds and save them from the uncertainty of life in Destiny City. That they had a daughter - mentioned in conjunction with senshi - did not bother Moonstone, nor did it give her pause - there were orphans in droves, what was one more?
Stepping out, she startled the couple. "If you want to make the senshi terrorists pay, I can give you the power."
The man jumped to his feet with an aggressive lean, ordering her out and threatening to call the cops. Moonstone's eyes narrowed and she laughed, summoning her totem-styled bat to hand. "I dislike empty threats."
Moonstone teleported behind the wife and brought her totem bat against the woman's head, silencing the start of what would have been quite loud screams with the blow. Blood flowed, matting the woman's hair, which the captain grabbed, but let go as the husband's fist came crashing into her face. She took the blow with a grunt, but stood firm to show him just how weak he was, comparatively. Shifting her stance, the brown-eyed captain kicked out at his chest, knocking him back so she could grab the wife.
"Let's go inside, shall we?" With his wife held hostage, the older man had no choice but to acquiesce though Moonstone could tell he was trying to weigh his options, to find a chance to attack her and turn the encounter to his advantage. Once inside, the captain threw the woman at her husband, knocking both to the ground; he scrambled to get out from under the woman's limp, unconscious body as Moonstone came close and brought her bat down and down and down again; shattering bones and splitting sinew so there would be no escape should both civilians get the gumption to do so. Bruises bloomed under cracked skin and jagged bone peeked towards the ceiling fan as it made it's slow revolutions, the brass-bead pull-cord thunking rhythmically against the base.
Tink. Tink. Tink.
Blood pooled and breathing laboured, froth on lips going cyanotic, and still she did not end the attack. Instead Moonstone stood and looked at the battered couple staining their (likely) expensive carpet life's red, a thin sheen of sweat coating her bared skin and making her uniform cling wetly to her body.
Was it cruel to do so when she could just as easily yanked their star-seeds and been done with it? Perhaps, but from the moment the man had jumped up with that aggressive stance? She'd been keyed up and feeling the heat-lust of adrenaline and the need to work off some steam.

As she got closer to home, that feeling of dread became worse and worse. By the time it cxame into view she knew what she felt but she wanted to think she was wrong. Mistaken. After all, they couldn't have found her. They'd never hurt her family. They were wanting her right? She could run but she needed to make sure her parents were okay. She could be grounded later. But they had to be okay. Her henshin pen was in her hands as she saw the door ajar, felt that oppresive feeling of chaos on her mind. This was just a mistake. She was wrong. They left the door open maybe because they planned to go out. They might have been looking for her. Jane was sure it wasn't anything. The smell of blood was what she experienced first as she neared the entry. The thud of her backpack was like a hammer, and all Jane could do as she saw them on the ground, bloody with bones breaking from skin, was stand mouth open and trembling. Her henshin pen shaking in her hand. When her eyes finally landed on the woman, her weapon and clothes splattered red, Jane held her pen out, as if that alone might save her. "S-s-s-s-" She was supposed to say the words. She couldn't speak.

Kneeling down, finally, face and uniform covered in a fine sheen of blood spatter, Moonstone put a hand to the broken man's chest, an almost sad look crossing her once pretty face. Battle may have been for fun, but life and death were worth reverence - a sacrifice made, being given over willing or not - it was not within the Captain to treat this lightly. "Your choice was stupid, but go knowing your life will have meaning." Her hand sank into his chest, past cracked and shattered ribs, torn and wasted tissue until her fingers wrapped carefully around his starseed.
Tenderly, she pulled the gleaming item from his chest and kissed it, thanking the man as the light went out of his eyes. Then she went and repeated her actions with the woman, standing only when she heard the sound of Jane's backpack slamming into the flooring; both starseeds glittered above Moonstone's palm, twinkling with all the lively vibrance the girl's parents no longer had save in sticky pools of saturated reds.
"Ah." It took the captain a moment to notice that the small girl held a henshin pen in one hand, thrust out before her like a talisman against monsters. "A senshi?." She gave a low sound of amusement, then spun the crystals slightly. "All traitors to Metallia and the Earth will be dealt with accordingly." Moonstone smiled and tilted her head towards the crystals slowly moving across her open palm; Jane was wide-eyed, terrified, and stuttering. Trying to transform? Or just shocked into syllables?
"Say goodbye to your parents, little girl." Bright red light encircled the two dancing crystals briefly but then faded; toying with a broken child was not sporting. Better she end the girl's life quickly, ease the suffering. "Would you like to join them? Come here and I will see that you're together, peacefully."

"Spa-" There was red. Why was there so much red? "Space- Spacewha-" This wasn't real. It couldn't be real.
"Spacewatch! MAKE-UP!" She was screaming. Crying as she felt the magic burn, seering her inside and out as it changed her, made her into something else. She knew she called out her attack and fled.
Because when her mind finally sorted itself, she was standing alone under an over pass, miles from home. Her henshin gone, her pen clutched in her hand.
Red splattered on her shoes.
