She needed something to do in her spare time now. Being home meant that she wasn't always doing something. Syqvara wasn't used to staying in one spot for so long. It was almost unnerving. So she decided that making something would be ideal. It would give her time at home, where her mother liked her, but it also kept her hands busy. Plus Sy was sure she had the perfect craft idea in mind. Rune stones.
Since she was a magic user she figured she could make something that other magic users would need and find useful. Obviously she didn't have the skills needed to make a full on staff like the one she carried and used in her own day to day life, but she was almost sure she could make something small. After all, Rune stones were simple stones with etchings in them!
So Syqvara had gotten the supplies that she needed, some nice flat stones and etching tools, and sat down at the table in the kitchen. With her mother busy but still checking every now and then to make sure she was there, Sy examined each stone for any impurities before she set to work on them. When she was sure they would hold up she began scratching into the surface of each one in turn. It wasn't hard, well the rocks were, but the designs were easy. She knew them well enough from her own magic use to put them in stone, literally, by heart.
The red head spent hours sitting there etching away as her mother cleaned and cooked and took care of things. When she was finished Syqvara had managed to complete the whole set without ruining a single one. Grinning from ear to ear she showed them off to her mother excitedly.
