((This RP is a continuation of this rp))

“That's good then, as a knight it seems like I had a finite amount of time for my weapon while you have multiple attacks. It really is fascinating.” Pompeii was already thinking about all the things she could ask Athene with regards to senshi powers and the like. Even knowing a few senshi Pompeii felt like she didn’t know enough about them, she didn’t even think she knew enough about knights either. There were still so many questions that the squire had about the whole ‘war’ and what it meant. This was the perfect time to get this ‘older’ fighters take on the whole thing.

With that thought the knight headed off into the city, well aware of the stronger fighter beside her. She could even ask about his particular fighting style since everyone fought in a different way. Pompeii shook off her mental ramblings and focused on her surroundings as they moved from the park into the city proper. “Is there anywhere you normally patrol? Anywhere we need to head towards or do?” As a normally solitary fighter Pompeii wasn’t sure what the protocol was with regards to where they should head to. Athene was stronger, and likely had been fighting for longer, so Pompeii was more than willing to let him take the lead.

Athene nodded thoughtfully as Pompeii spoke about her weapon. "Do you get tired after using your magic too much too?" He asked, his quiet voice curious as whilst Athene knew that Knights had their own magic, it was something that he (admittedly) didn't really know much about.

He followed after Pompeii as the Saturn Squire started walking in the direction of the city, his pace an easy one as he kept part of his attention alert for any auras.

Well at least auras that weren't their own, although he shook his head at Pompeii's query.

"I actually don't have a fixed patrol route of my own" he admitted as a rueful note slipped into his voice. "So I can get around across the city. I generally keep a mind to auras when I'm out and about" as he was doing currently. "And intervene if needs be - but if you have a route of your own in mind then I'm happy to patrol it."

Leaping from building to building his slate eyes shifting from the cities skyline to the Captain at his side. He had run into the captain earlier in the evening and decided to spend the evening out with them, see what they knew and answer any questions they may have. It was a night to be out and roaming without any purpose other than learning and talking. It wasn't something he did often any more. If he wasn't out on his own he was out trying to talk to members of order and make deals with them. gain their trust. It was something he didn't always enjoy especially the guilt over his conflicted feelings. It was nothing he could even talk about or risk writing about...all things he kept bottled up inside.

Another glance to the Captain before he held up a hand as he felt it - eternal...squire. "order." he whispered whilst hoping it was no one he knew, no one he had any sort of deal with. He couldn't be caught acting nice to them but he also couldn't go and explain it to anyone on his side to defend himself. Everything was rather in the shadows, which he liked, but it stuck him in a hell of a position at times.

"Do you want to continue in that direction?" Wanting to get the others opinion before continuing on toward what could end up a fight. He knew the added risks for himself if they continued on and was willing to take them - if need be. Those he was built bridges with knew he could not let the friends and alliances be known to his own side. The line though for him...it was so blurred now...this war was no so simple any more but had it ever been? It was war and he'd been only a teenager at the start and he was still young, just not a teenager.

"I'll leave the choice to you." He could handle a fight if he had to, he had years under his belt and a weapon that could deal a good amount of damage unlike the captain.

“Yes. As far as I can tell.” Pompeii kept her voice quiet as well, echoing Athene’s tone and volume, careful to disturb the general quiet of the night. “In truth I have only pushed my magic to the limits under controlled environments a few times. It seems that once I have used up the well of power my shawl is once more just a normal object.” It had taken a few tries in the safe, if eerie, location of her empty wonder, her ancestor appearing whenever he felt like it to laugh or toss a caustic comment before disappearing again.

“No route,” The squire smiled and shrugged. “I tend to wander. Looking for anything that seems out of place or wrong. Although I do mostly stay on this side of the city since I know most of the area pretty well by now.” Pompeii had no clue that it didn’t matter where they were going because they had already been sensed by someone more powerful than the knight. She might be getting her wish to see Athene’s magic work first hand sooner than she expected.

---:---

The captain had no issues keeping up with the General as they pretty much pulled a Daredevil move and traversed the city via the rooftops except both of them didn’t have to rely on echolocation to figure out where s**t was. It was interesting to get the older… but shorter… nega officer’s take on things not that Febrezeite really cared for much deep thinking. He was more of a muscle man. Give him a task, point him in a direction, and let him go. He was kind of like a windup toy in that regards, not that he really minded. He got to do some really great stuff that way. Like fight to his little heart’s content.

At the General’s whispered comment Febrezeite’s eyebrow rose, why was he whispering anyway? It's not like they could here them, hell if it really was an eternal they could feel the nega duo the same way the General was. It seemed like the night was about to get really interesting. The smile that crossed his face was equal parts child given free reign in a candy store and a mean kid who was pulling the wings off of bugs. Fighting is what Febrezeite enjoyed most, no way in hell was he going to pass this up. With luck the General could even sit back while he, the captain, can take care of the order weaklings all by himself. It was just a shame that he couldn’t sense the duo just yet, sadly his range wasn’t as strong as the other officers… yet.

“Lead the way mon général! A fight sounds like a good way to blow off a little steam.”

Athene nodded as he kept pace with Pompeii, "That makes sense" he said quietly in answer to her mention that she tended to keep to this particular side of the city.

Because whilst he didn't personally have a particular side of the city that he tended to patrol - patrolling somewhere that was familiar did make sense.

There was no right or wrong way to patrol though and Athene had been a senshi long enough to know that everyone patrolled differently.

He'd been walking in peaceable companionship with Pompeii for a little bit when he picked up on two more auras, although unlike the aura of his patrol partner for the evening these new auras held the cold chill of chaos and one that he had come to associate with members of the Negaverse.

One was stronger than the other - however the second aura wasn't weak either which suggested perhaps a Captain and a General...

Sensing auras wasn't exactly an exact science however so Athene wasn't sure how far away they were - but they were close enough given that he was picking up on them...

His footsteps slowed as he tilted his head up to look at Pompeii, his quiet voice quieter than normal as he said "I'm picking up on the aura of a Captain and a General and whilst I can't say how far away they are, they must be close enough to be picking up on our auras."

Because if he was picking up on them, then Athene reckoned that they were almost certainly doing the same.

Well, it seemed like the Captain was living up to the reputation he'd heard the other had - he liked to fight. Not only did the other like to fight but he wasn't bothered by the ranks involved, not that he should be. The captain was the same as the squire and he was the same as the eternal. He wasn't aware that the other wanted to fight them both, something he wouldn't allow were he to know.

"Alright, you handle the squire." he'd get the eternal. he was higher in rank and equal in power. He'd handle whatever magic the eternal could throw, at least he hoped so. Some senshi just had really nasty, painful, magic and even at his rank and used to fighting as he was - it hurt.

It was hard to tell how far off the two order individuals were but they had to be close - he could sense them. He'd never figured out just how far his range for sensing auras went but he knew they were close. Now it was just a matter of finding them. He had a general idea of direction but it was just that - general. "Keep your eyes open for them." He said lifting one hand to point in the direction he figured them to be in. "Somewhere that way..." That said he took off toward the signatures. 'Either they'll run away, toward, or remain....I'm almost hoping they head for us." They'd save them some time and it would indicate that the individuals were prepared to fight as well - he wanted that.

Pompeii kept pace with Athene, lost in her own thoughts it took her a moment to comprehend what the stronger senshi had said. Her first response was not likely anything the other order member had ever heard, “That's fantastic!” She fell quiet for a moment as she picked up the auras as well which meant that they were getting closer. The knight had realized a while ago that the stronger you were the wider your range was in detecting others and vise versa. “We will be able to get more data about your magic. Maybe even form a hypothesis as to what makes it work or not.”

As far as Pompeii was concerned this interaction between chaos and order was a perfect time to see if Athene’s magic would work against the two negaversers. It should have occurred to the squire that maybe a confrontation was not an ideal thing but all she could think of was the possibility of gathering more information on the senshi’s magic… and maybe even bonus knowledge on nega magic and weapons.

---:---

Febrezeite was a bit disappointed when Benitoite gave him his orders, getting stuck with just a squire… bah. But he has his orders so he was stuck with just the knight, the general would be getting the better half of the duo. He was just picking the signature of the two as General Short Stack, note to self: never call him that to his face, started to book it towards the two unfortunate order suckers. If he was sensing them then even the squire, his power equivalent, knew they were there.

Mentally keeping track of the order duo, the Captain scrambled to keep up with the General currently leading them. It was rather surprising how fast Benni could move in his uniform, Febrezite’s own wasn't anywhere near as ornate, thank you lord. He mentally shuddered at the idea of sporting not only a long coat but a cape as well… What did that old lady from that Pixar movie say? ‘No Capes!’

He was almost so lost in his thoughts that he nearly missed the flash of movement in the distance, “Sir!” He hissed out his warning as quietly as he could and yet still be heard. “Over there.” Even with the city sounds to muffle their approach as well as any noise he could make it never hurt to keep it quiet, after all a sneak attack is always a good tactic. Unfortunately the nega duo had three things going against them in order to pull off a sneak attack. First was their auras, pretty hard to attack on the downlow when your location is given away like using a flashlight in a dark room. Second was the order wimps were just entering an abandoned parking lot, the dilapidated warehouse a few dozen yards away was the only real cover available. And third but not least, they were still on the rooftops, one of the last few viable perches since the roofs stop a street shy of the chain link fence around the lot. It would take more skill than Febrezite had if they wanted to put a little fear of the dark into the two goodie goodies.

Athene was admittedly a little startled at Pompeii's reaction to his quietly voiced warning, because running into Negaverse agents was not something that he tended to consider as something that was 'fantastic' and especially not when one of the agents in question was a General.

Negaverse agents from his experience, were not generally prone to want to talk and Generals tended to be dangerous.

In fact Athene had the scars to prove just how dangerous Generals could be.

And it wasn't just the General - because Athene had definitely picked up on two auras and the second aura had felt like a Captain.

He tried his best not to let either his startlement or his trepidation show as, dangerous or not, he knew that he was going to at least check the two out - and at least he was not out on patrol alone...

Although Athene wasn't too sure that he wanted to bet that his magic would play nice in the encounter - however it ended playing out.

He did his best to try and focus on the chaos auras, particularly as - whilst he couldn't be completely sure - it felt like that the two of them were closer than they had been previously, his eyes glancing warily around the abandoned parking lot slash warehouse.

And of course he just would have to be picking up chaotic auras by an abandoned warehouse.

Because something out there hated him and knew how much Athene hated abandoned warehouses.

A cape and a coat? He also had a vest, shirt and a jabot. He had a uniform that could kill in the summer but was good in the winter, or at least better than most peoples uniforms were especially senshi. He was, as they closed in, expecting to see some skirted 'hero' standing on a roof top with a better dressed squire at their side. What he saw was neither of those things. In fact it was neither that was well dressed, in his opinion, and he was unsure which was better, or worst, dressed.

Stopping at the roofs ledge, peering down toward the duo he turned then to the captain. "I will teleport us down there, behind them if I can. it is the only sort of surprise we can find in this field. This is not one which is in our favor." They'd be more on even ground, fighting wise, with the senshi and knight duo. It wasn't something he couldn't handle - just a dislike. he liked to have surprise on his side when he could, any upper hand he could get he would take.

Stepping back from the ledge he went to grab the Captain. "Your teleporting is more limited then mine. Teleport if you must in the battle, let it give you a possible advantage." He wouldn't let him waste it here and now when he might need to teleport during the fight, when it would help him either to avoid something or to land a deadly blow to the squire. He could teleport more often so he would get them down there and try to provide some surprise element - anything to help them. "I'm fairly certain I've run into that eternal before but I can't remember their magic." Over the years he'd encountered too many knights and senshi and couldn't always remember who did what, unless he'd run into them a lot of times or they were that stand out magically or physically.

Moving them both to the ledge, so he could see where he wanted to teleport to, he focused on the location, a foot behind the two, and in a blink they were gone and in the same instant they were down on the ground appearing. Letting the Captain go he was a flurry of movement, and fabric, as his weapon was summoned and brought into play as he took a swing for the eternal.

I had no idea he doesn't like warehouses >.< sorry about that XD

(Switching around my post order ^.^)

“Aye, Aye Captain…” The negaverser snickered as he started to hum the tune to the stupid kid's show. Between one bar of the mental tune and the next the General had teleported them behind the stinky order people. With little thought to own safety Febrezite immediately summoned his own weapon, a rattan woven rug beater, and charged at the squire shouting a very strange war cry, “drop on the deck and flop like a fish!” He swung the surprisingly resilient weapon at the poor girl’s head at ‘flop like a fish’, gleefully pleased to see the surprise and fear in her eyes.
---:---

Pompeii was keeping her eyes peeled for the chaos agents. The lot was empty, pavement cracked and plants were growing wildly everywhere it could get a purchase. The abandoned warehouse was a good walk away so it wasn’t like they had a chance to sneak up on them. Although her aura sensing wasn’t the best she knew they were close… just not right on top of them, maybe the senshi next to her could pinpoint their location. “Athene…” Her question was cut off when all of a sudden the chaos auras suddenly appeared behind them.

With a gasp she spun around, her heel got caught in a crack and with a yelp she fell on her a**. This turned out to be a good thing since the captain’s weapon, the hell was it?, soared right over her head.

And then the auras went from being close but not quite in the vicinity to being virtually on top of them, Athene's eyes widening beneath his glasses as he spun round.

"Pompeii watch..." He started to call out a warning to his companion, but the words trailed off in a startled yelp as a blue and black clad figure came rushing in his direction, as booted feet darted backwards in an attempt to put a bit of distance between them.

It wasn't entirely successful, although it did allow him to narrowly avoid being skewered by something metallic...

Or perhaps it was sheer dumb luck.

Although given the way the evening was shaping up it was probably dumb luck over any real skill.

Watching the Captain, from the corner of his eye, summon his weapon he felt like slapping his forehead. Why was it that until someone hit General they typically had a bad weapon meanwhile senshi had magic and so did knight? Knights sometimes even had items they could smack you with. Perhaps it was unfair or perhaps it was to balance out that they could, once they hit Captain, teleport? He really had no idea but a rug beater - really? He'd at least had something which could do damage, despite it's large size and awkwardness. It had been something better.

Oh well, no way to really fix such a thing. Fate was fate and it wouldn't be changed, no matter how much he wished it so.

While the Captain handled the Squire he kept his focus on the Eternal and flashed a smile, something less than friendly and rather predatory. "A good night for a bit of fun - isn't it." He spoke, not really questioning the other but making a statement rather, as he took a few quick steps forward and swung again. Bringing the bladed weapon down toward the senshi. It was made more for stabbing but he could slice with it too, and that did for a moment sound like one of those cheap late night infomercials where they sold knives. It stabs and slices and you can even dice with it! Yup, sounded just like one. Though dicing might be terribly difficult.

"I do hope we weren't interrupting something important..." Nope, not sorry at all. He was pleased to interrupt things and try and kill someone - always. "Come on, keep your focus on me. Let the two little ones play."

(And reswitching them… this might happen alot so yeah ^.^)

Pompeii’s shock only lasted for a few seconds before her training kicked in. After years of practicing, training, and fights it was only natural for her to grab for the negaverser’s wrist, kick out with both feet, and rock back all at once in an effort to throw the poor man. Two high heeled boots to the gut would not be a very pleasant feeling. That didn’t even factor in the force of the throw, the impact, or even her grip. If she had timed it right, the speed the nega had been going, plus her forcing his change of direction as well as adding to force, should in theory toss him a distance behind her.

This of course was all just speculation, there was no guarantee that the throw would work let alone where he would land. There never was when it came to chaos. And it wasn’t like Pompeii was the best of fighters, especially not after the mess that was the train youma thing.
---:---
It was Febrezite’s turn to be surprised as his attack completely missed his target. That she fell wasn’t so shocking but the hand that gripped his wrist was. He didn’t have a chance break the squire’s grip before her feet were jammed into his gut, driving most of the air out of his lungs, and he was soaring over her body. Oddly enough the only thing that really went through his mind as he was propelled over her was about her uniform… mainly his appreciation of the low cut top of her uniform.

That appreciation, as well as what was left of his air, disappeared as his back slammed into the ground. Apparently the squire didn’t time her throw just right since he landed just a few feet behind her not that he could take advantage of that right then, air in the lungs was required for movement… and he didn’t have any right then. He just remained there doing his best to get his head on straight, looking up just as the knight was getting to her feet. It looked like she was going to interfere with the General’s fight, Febrezite couldn’t allow that. Even though his whole body ached he still flipped over and grabbed both of the girl’s ankles and pulled, getting a nice view as she kissed the cracked pavement.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2016 1:47 pm

Athene wasn't sure that 'fun' was a word that he would personally use to describe this particular encounter - especially given that he was doing his best to avoid being skewered.

And whilst he didn't bother to respond to the General's comments, he was doing his best to try and track the movements of the other's weapon as the dark blue clad general moved to swing it in his direction, feet moving in an attempt to avoid the incoming blade...

He managed, barely, although the trailing end of his sash was not quite so lucky as the sharpened blade sliced through the fabric with ease sending the bead fringed fabric tumbling downwards.

Athene was still moving however, shifting to try and lunge at the dark blue clad General in an attempt to close some of the distance between them.

Because from what little he could see the other appeared to be wielding some sort of spear - and from his rather painful and completely unwanted experience of spears that meant that in order to use that spear efficiently then the other would need to keep some distance between them.

It also meant that whilst he wanted to help Pompeii that the Squire at least for the moment was pretty much on her own.

Watching as the blade of his spear missed the senshi, a shame really, he was happy to note that he had at least gotten the senshi's uniform. It wasn't what he wanted, not by a long shot, but he had done something and knew now that the senshi was quicker than he'd thought. It gave a better idea of how fast he needed to be, how little time he could give the senshi.

A glance back toward his Captain, watching them yank the Squire to the ground, he turned back to the eternal and noted they were much closer - not good. He knew that with his weapon he could ill afford having an opponent close to him, his weapon was meant for ranged fighting. He knew he could ditch the weapon and fight with his hands, and feet, and that would solve part of the problem.

"Well, looks like a change is needed." The words were said with a sort of bored tone to them, a matter of fact manner, as he let his weapon vanish. It left him at both a disadvantage and an advantaged position. "Come little senshi, let the children play while we dance." He had, for a brief moment, considered tossing the Captain his weapon and letting them use it. But he wasn't sure the other would manage the ranged weapon. Not only was it ranged but it was weighted in a way that he was used to and the Captain not.

One gloved hand, his right, formed a fist as he made to close the distance between himself and the eternal further - intent upon punching the other in the face if he could.
