Zac started by sending a text, he’d dropped things off with Sunny, which was absolutely NOT something he was going to talk about. But he had plenty of other things to doll out. He’d see what they did or did not find important. More than that… it also gave him time to think on the way, it was just… sad to think he reminded Sunny of someone she had lost. It was an odd thought, one he hadn’t had before and it was Odd in part because it hadn’t occurred to him. She was apparently ancient, so…why hadn’t he thought about the fact she might loose people. Really… nothing felt simple any longer. Not only the magic but, the feeling that he was just… missing more and more pieces because – either he wasn’t there when something happened, or no one wanted to tell him, to protect him. He sighed, hoped for the best and knocked on the door. No…he was totally not brooding about things. Nope…

Dinner had been finished, the plates cleared away, and Algie had started tea for everyone. Jeremiah was settling the kittens in a chair in the living room (they had their snacks after dinner, as he promised) when he heard the knock. The door was pulled open a moment later, Jeremiah giving Zac an easy smile before tilting his head. Even if he knew a brooding Zac when he saw one. "Come in, tea in a few minutes." Zac could get settled and then they could talk about tours and other things. Jeremiah was trying to ignore the weird feeling of Zac knocking before he came in. The young man still had his key but ... Neither here nor there.

Algie had been staring off, spacing out, while he waited for the water and Jeremiah dealt with the kittens. The knock brought him out of it, straightening and blinking to awareness just as the kettle whistled. The author passed through the entryway with the tray, "Tea's ready now actually. Hullo Zac.. how was your tour?" He didn't actually stop to talk, instead walking through into the sitting room and just expecting the pair to follow.

“Damn…Just dinner.” Zac said with a grin, but didn’t push any further than that for his tease. “The… tour was interesting. Not… really a lot more than the library, but I met a few people, I think I saw Sunny’s bedroom in the…restricted areas. He cleared his throat and pulled out his phone. “Annnd I saw …some paintings.” He pulled up the photos and pulled the first one up, the one in the purple suit.

Jeremiah just shot Zac a look at the just dinner comment. Not that it was out of place but with that he was immediately not sure. He was a step after Zac and Algie, letting them both lead the way instead of the other way around. "Sunny's bedroom? So she does live there?" An eyebrow was raised in question before he reaching for the phone that was held up. "That ..." Jeremiah blinked, fingers held out for the phone for a closer look. That was not him, was it?

Algie poured them all tea, leaving the other two to fix their own because he had stepped towards Jeremiah to take a peek over his shoulder at the picture. One of his hands rested lightly against the man's back before he just lifted his brows at it and moved back to his teacup. "What was the tour like?" Were there explanations of anything? The paintings? "Anything else interesting in the.. ah.. restricted areas?"

"That is... Jeremiah Taylor, The woman in the next picture is Sunday Shore, and the last one well... it's just titled 'Sunshine' the artist is A. Prividenyie - I didn't get to hear his first name. Mister Taylor there though, he has an interesting story. He tapped the phone... "He vanished one day, no one knew where or why. Two YEARS later, dead, but wearing the exact same clothes he was last seen wearing." "The second floor, and the attic are off limits because people live there. Seems...Renard Leroux, the guide and...his -husband Liam Noor have free access though. Renard seems, fairly normal just...really -tall- like... legs for days. And His husband... I don't know." He trailed off shaking his head. "Well...his husband said there -are- more paintings, though Renard said three... I think the public isn't supposed to know them." He shrugged. "There is something about the paint, it gets darker with time so the details get lost. SO thats probably why they don't get shown." he shook his head. ".... I ... wanted to look in Sunny's room, I just... thought maybe ... but I couldn't so... Yeah that was a bust."

Jeremiah was not exactly sure he liked the idea of someone with his same name pictured near someone who looked like Sunny. Yet Sunshine did not quite look the same. There was something androgynous to Sunshine. His lips were pressed together, the story of Tailor settling into his mind. Algie was given a look if only because of all their talk that they had been having. Yet the hand against his back was warm, soothing away some of the unease. "Privideynie sounds familiar but I can't say why," he spoke, letting Algie get a better look at the pictures. His discomfort would be obvious at the similarities between himself and Tailor. An eyebrow was raised at the mentioned married men but then the mention of Sunny's room caused that same, familiar twist in his gut. The one he could not quite explain - a niggling sensation he was forgetting more than he already had. "Do the two of them live there as well?" He was moving to get a cup of tea for himself. "Could they be Sunny's guardians?" Did she even have a guardian?

Algie didn't say anything, though he stepped away for his tea and sipped it. He'd ask questions when he had them. Instead he drifted to the book cases, glancing over Jeremiah's overly familiar literary collection (and the stupidly complete sets of his own books, somehow it was endearing). A book looked out of place, Linguistic Theory and Empirical Evidence, and Algie picked it up to flip through only to pause as his uncanny power reared it's head. The professor interrupted as his finger tapped on something on the page, "Something like the russian word for apparition. And why that sounds familiar to you Jeremiah, I don't want to know." Since when did he dabble in anything russian besides the alcohol?

The revelation about the Artists name translated made Zac pull a disgusted face of frustration. "Great... So, the fact that I couldn't get them to tell me the Artist's first name..." He shook his head and rolled his eyes. "Well...maybe it was something of a Pen name." He said folding his arms. "Though... Specter.... if you say it like -that-.... kind of reminds me of Aleksy. I know that's not -actually- his last name but the spelling." He shook his head and waved the thought away. Similar didn't mean a connection, they would need a lot more than similarities to prove anything but... damn, even the first initial. He frowned. At first he'd wondered if they wouldn't find 'Alg' sharing a first name with the artist, but now he wasn't so sure. He let out a breath. "I don't know if they live there or not, not for certain. If they do, they had a reason for one of them to be on the second floor, if NOT then...they have permission to be inside the lived in areas." Frustration crossed his face. "I hate to say it but, this might be something we... have to see what it's like on the, the other side of things." There was a despondent tone in his voice, as he leaned back in his chair and ran a hand through his bangs, pushing them out of his face and staring at the phone before tossing his note pad onto the table. "Which let me just say right NOW I am so not thrilled about."

" Spetsial'nya snezhinka," special snowflake, "it shouldn't be so surprising that it sounds familiar." There had been a point where Jeremiah had been trying to learn other languages. Yet that had, in the end, just turned into him learning how to say snowflake (or special snowflake as it were) in several of them. No comment on Algie's ability and that book being pulled from his library (he knew he did not own that book) or the fact that he had a tendency to read high fantasy more than other types of fiction. He was snorting at the idea of a ghost painting portraits of people. It was enough to pull him away from the thoughts of Jeremiah Tailor for the time being. "Possibly something they used instead of their own name. Not everyone is comfortable with being connected to their own work." The thing with Aleksy was not likely but the idea that the red-headed young man might be further tied to things like this ... Well, Aleksy being angry would be an understatement. "If the place is under their care, they probably have freedom to roam wherever they like as long as the place is kept up." A dash of cream was poured into his tea, spoon stirring it in before he was taking a drink. Blue-green eyes cut to Algie briefly at Zac's comment about having to check into things on the other side. His own recent stint came to mind but for the moment he was quiet about it. "Well we can assume there's probably a building there that corresponds." His cup was set down, a hand raked through his hair. "... but somehow I would not be surprised to find out it only looks like it." Like the other library looked like the Ashdown library right up until you went inside it.

The loosely grasped concept that some other version of Aleksy was A. Privideynie amused Algie in some capacity. The cranky young flower shop owner would certainly be crankier to learn his role in all of this was pre-ordained. Some of his own questions about the nature of these things hadn't yet been answered but the idea that all of this had happened before seemed to be solidified- even if a old time Jeremiah seemed rather heavy handed. He hadn't quite expected things to be so- obvious. Would there be some Algernon with his face and name from some previous era? Some painting stashed in the mysterious men's collection? Alg lay the book back on a surface and found himself a chair to sink into as he sipped his tea, "I'm not sure that avoiding the other world is an option for any of us anymore." It was said noncommittally, and again he seemed but too calm about all of this- like he'd heard it before, "It'll find you on it's own if you don't seek it out."

While Jeremy earned something of a Dry stare at his out of hand judgment that the house unlike the other houses's in ashdown, or even most of the shops. – even if there was already part of Zac that suggested that no, nothing related to Sunny in any way would let you in till it was good and ready. But that was pretty much an assumption that came from the Library itself. “We don’t know for sure if we can get in, or if it will be the same inside - true. But other than the contents of books the town looked largely the same. If we DO en up back there, rather than try and raid the house, maybe check and see if paintings we are familiar with look the same on the other side. That would be a good, possibly safer star.” He suggested before turning his gaze to Alg. “I confess I thought at first I’d be looking for an artist with your first name though, the Aleksey …link almost seems like a Joke in itself. I mean… paintings by ‘A specter?” He shook his head and rolled his eyes. “If anything, on top of the fact that this…other side of things seems to seek us out. I wonder if it hasn’t got something of a twisted sense of humor.” He snorted. “Looking into the man who shares your first name will be something I can keep doing, and I’ll see if there is anything about the artist available on line.” He added spreading his hands. He was not surrendering his involvement in this research, not by a long shot. “And we know the story I found in that history book matches Heart Break Hill – so it very likely inspired it. Plus…” He flipped back to his picture of the wood-block picture of the ‘Indian Girl’ – “It may say Indian but… I doubt they were looking at anything more than the color of her Skin and making assumptions, THIS honestly looks more certainly like Sunny than the picture of ‘Sunshine’ - But, that’s also why I want to look and see if there are photos of the artists Other work anywhere. If we can find out if part of the ambiguity might be his style. . That might help us.”

Jeremiah just returned the dry look back at Zac. His trips to other ashdown definitely made him think that not every building was going to be the same as it's Ashdown counterpart - especially if they were tied to Sunny. "At this point, it is beginning to look like we're just part of something that has been going on for a while. That while we can trace some answers on this side, there will be just as many on the other if we explore." As much as exploring was something some may not want to do. "I would keep chasing the artist if you think you can find anything else out, Zac." A. Spectre still made him inwardly laugh. The thought that the first name might be Algie was one he did not want to entertain. "... and Jeremiah Tailor," he added a moment later. That entire bit made him uncomfortable, even if there were differences, the resemblance was a little uncanny. A man on a hill, overlooking the water? Then Zac was mentioning Heartbreak Hill and he was leaning forward to look at the newest picture. It was Sunny, for all that he could tell. "That is Princess Keen?" he asked, looking towards Algie. The other man he had let see the texts between Zac and himself earlier just so that he would know as well. Again an uncanny resemblance but the unease that filled him at the mention of that story was still something he had not shaken.

Algie glanced over all of it and seemed to think. "Has anyone given a thought to going and asking Sunny directly?" Obviously they all had poor experiences with her and the shenanigans about finding the teens were obvious, but the option was always out there just to speak to her. "Speaking to her doesn't necessarily mean making a deal." His brows lifted at both of them, "All it takes is self control and refusal to bargain away bits of yourself for answers." Answers weren't always worth it.
