User ImageDayax sighed as she made her way through the thick forest of her homeland. She moved gracefully and silently through the vines and roots that hung from the air and grew from the ground.

The lioness had a long day of training with her sisters and she was beyond exhausted and ready for a break. At the moment she was feeling rather adventurous and decided to take off for some alone time. It wasn't that she didn't love being around everyone, she was just feeling a little crowded at the moment.

Taking a deep breath she breathed in the fresh air of the day. The sun was beginning to hang low in the sky but it was still light out. It was the perfect time for her to slip away unnoticed.

User ImageAureo had been traveling with his mate Hotza. After their pride had disbanded, they had started scouting out for a new one. Today however, she wanted to take a break. She told him to go out and have some fun while she rested. He was never one to argue with his mate, so he was gone before she could close her eyes.

Hotza was the most ideal mate he could ask for. She was quite different from him, but was understanding. He was always completely honest with her about having the occasional fling and she didn't mind. 'As long as you don't leave me I do not care what you get up to' she said. He grinned at the thought of his mate.

He had spent most of the day seeking out anything that caught his attention. Looking up at the sky, he saw the sun getting closer to disappearing and knew that he would have to find something or someone soon to make sure the day wasn't a complete waste.

It didn't take long for Dayax to make her way across the border. Once she stepped foot away from the forest, she began to sniff around and explore the area. Most often she was working hard and doing what she could for others, so she did not often take time for herself. It was strange not being in the middle of doing something, but she would savor her time alone as much as possible.

Dayax trotted around for a while, enjoying the air that seemed thinner and less humid away from the dense trees. It didn't take long before she spotted a male a short distance from her. Her first reaction was to hide herself in the nearest bush and spy on him from afar.

The lioness considered heading home, but her curiosity won over her sensibilities. She figured that she was prepared to defend herself if things went bad. It wasn't often that she ran into strangers, and the male up ahead had piqued her interest.

"Good evening," she said as she emerged from her hiding place and approached the male. She waited for his reaction to her appearance with caution.

Aureo's attention went from the sky to the silver lioness. He halted when she spoke. “Good evening to you as well.” He said politely. As he looked at her, he couldn't help but wonder how long she had been there. He had been so distracted by his surroundings, that he felt like a fool for not noticing her before she spoke. “My name is Aureo, it is a pleasure to meet you.”

His eyes gazed other the forest that she came from. “Now that looks like a place a lion could have some adventures in.” He stated with a grin. “Do you think you could tell me a bit about the place? Does it belong to a pride?”

As much as he loved exploring, he knew that going onto pridal land could cause some trouble. Usually, when exploring new areas, he did his best to stay out in the open and show that he was not a threat. It didn't always work out, but for the most part, it did.

Upon approaching the male, she was instantly struck by his vibrant coat.

Dayax spent the majority of her time working hard to become stronger in the company of other female warriors, so she didn't exactly spend much time admiring males. She didn't even spend much time around the males within the pride's lands to be honest. Ever since beginning her training she'd been completely focused on her task.

"I am Dayax," she replied with a small smile.

"The forest is deep and dense, its certainly easy to get lost in if you don't know your way. This region of the forest is home to the Indlovukati, its where I live. I am one of the warriors charged with protecting our home," Dayax spoke proudly of her home without giving away too much information.

"Are you a traveler?"

Aureo stared at the forest with a mix of wonder and interest, though it didn't stay there long. He looked back at Dayax. “It must be an amazing place to call home.” He said imagining all the adventures that could happen in the heart of the forest. “If I am too close to your pridal lands, I can leave, no questions asked.” He did not want to cause trouble, least of all with a warrior.

When she asked if he was a traveler, he couldn't help but have his grin grow wider. “I am a traveler! But I am also much more than that.” He sat down so he would be able to get into the small pouch that hung around his neck. Carefully he pulled out one of the small trinkets he had found. A gem, about the size of a lion's tooth, that was sparkling green. “I am also a treasure hunter and adventurer.”

He looked at his small find proudly. Usually, he would trade his goods or have his mate make some jewelry from his finds. Rarely did he find gems like this one, though. It might have been on the small side, but the color was vivid. He was very proud of it.

"Its a great place to stay hidden away from prying eyes, not many are aware of our presence here. We prefer it that way, and as long as you're not trying to stir up trouble for us you're fine to pass through. Our warriors usually only reveal themselves when others seem threatening or wander too close to where we live in the rainforest. Besides, you don't seem like much of a threat to me," she said with a playful smirk on her face.

"Wow, that's beautiful." Dayax stared with wonder and curiosity at the gem that Aureo held. She'd never seen anything like it. The color was unlike the leafy greens of the forest that she was constantly surrounded by.

"A treasure hunter, huh? That certainly sounds like an exciting life. You must have seen and experienced a lot in your adventures. Isn't it dangerous at times?" As an adult, Dayax couldn't imagine wandering on her own, she had come to love and live for her community.

“I am basically harmless,” Aureo responded with a grin. He was glad that he wasn't unwelcome in the area. It was such an interesting area, that it would have been a shame to leave so soon.

When she looked at his gem, he felt pride swell in him. He was always proud of his finds, but this one was an especially good find. “Thank you! I actually found it in a lake hidden among the sand and pebbles. Heard stories from locals about the treasure that were hidden there. Of course, they had warned me that it had been completely drained of anything of value. Did not stop me from spending a whole day digging around the lake, though.” It was a worthwhile way to spend a day, Aureo thought.

“If I was a better storyteller, I could spend the day talking about my favorite adventures.” He responded to her question joyously. “Danger is always a part of being an adventurer and treasure seeker. I say that it is worth the risk. To be fair, though, I spent the majority of my life exploring and traveling. Even when I was a part of a pride, I didn't stay put for too long.” It was an ideal situation for him.

“Have you always lived here?” He asked curiously. The only time he was every really 'tied' to a pride was before he was an adult when his parents kept close eyes on him to make sure he didn't venture too far. He had no idea what it was like to live in one place for so long.

Dayax thought that she might like to hear some of Aureo's stories, but she knew that she would be missed if she stayed gone too long without telling anyone where she was.

"I haven't been here my whole life, I was born out in the rogue lands. I've lived here since I was an adolescent, just barely grown," she said fondly, remembering the day she meet the lionesses that would later become her sisters.

"I was pretty much kidnapped from the place where I was born and raised by a group of jerks looking to get easy access to prey. Fortunately for me, I was found and freed by the warriors here and they accepted me as their own. I will always be grateful to them for saving me. They gave me a new home and a new family." Those had been dark times for her, times that she was more than happy to leave behind in the past.

"Well, I think I better be heading back or someone might come looking for me," Dayax said as she glanced briefly up at the sky noticing that the light was growing dimmer.

"Do you pass through these lands often?"
