It was the time of evening where Wendy ended up at Cid's place and they both watched horrible television while clicking around on their laptops and they pick at takeout containers when Tom hasn't sent some food along. It was chinese tonight, the saucy greasy kind that was good for hangovers, but these folks were classy and drank wine with their chinese. They may have actually said 'so classy' while clinking glasses. Wendy worked the morning shift, ungodly early really, so she'd be needing sleep soon but the young woman didn't get nearly enough. She just powered by on caffeine until she burnt out and slept a day away. "You wanna puff on the balcony with me?" Her cheeks were pink from wine, it always happened, and she shoulder leaned on Cid while making joint smoking motions with her fingers. "Wil got me some nice stuff."

They were definitely classy. So classy that sometimes Cid would drink his wine through a straw just to make a point of his classiness. He already had an arm around Wendy, chuckling about possible plans for interns for tomorrow's morning show because sometimes he was evil and helped plot things with her. Wait, no, he was always evil and plotted things with her. Wine left him feeling a little giddy but also a little more mellow than he usually and with perpetually pink-tipped ears. Cid fixed Wendy with a stare - a very put-upon, fake hurt stare. "Have you been holding out on me? I always want some of the good stuff." His arm slid from around her and he squirmed away until he was pulling at her to get off the couch and go to the balcony. "Grab Varric and bring him and your sexy self out with me." Why Varric? Well, he might have been guardian of the stash. "I'll bring the drinks." Which he did with a totally classy (and saucy) wink and sway to his step. Shaaaaaaaaaameless.

Wendy complied, fishing in her bag for a small change purse with a Varric keychain hanging from the zipper. It was a shiny silver thing covered in overly cute alpacas and was obviously the perfect holder for her stash. "I can't be holding out if your always there when I smoke.." She was tugged up by the shorter man and his cheek gained him an a** pinching. There were some weather beaten lawn chairs on the balcony, as well as an ashtray with a centimeter of rain water in the bottom. She made sure one of the chairs wasn't wet before Wendy settled into it and fished in her little bag to produce a lighter and a pre-rolled joint. "You light it." It was offered out.

Cid just laughed again, especially when his a** was pinched. He even looked appropriately appalled that she even did so. Entirely ruined by the wiggle he did afterwards as he made his way to the balcony. He was claiming his usual chair, the one that was his because it had an insane amount of things scribbled onto it with multiple colors of a sharpie. "Remind me to ask Wil about that one blend he mentioned." Not that he could remember what it was, just that it was supposed to be amazing. Cid was leaning forward forward, taking the joint and the lighter, to light up and take the first hit. His eyes slid shut a moment, cracked back open to bare slits as he let out the smoke and held it back for Wendy. No, no words after that first hit. He never did say anything until the second.

Wendy leaned forward for the joint but almost as soon as she had sat, she was up on her feet again. The woman leaned against the rail of the balcony next to Cid's chair and used her free hand to play with his hair while she took a hit. There was a strange sound, sort of like if a dramatic sigh was translated into animal noise. "Did you hear that?"

Cid just made a noise, head leaning towards the fingers in his hair. Yes, please, pet Cid. All the pets forever. He was reaching for the joint when he heard the noise. "... what the ******** did I just hear?" Then, obviously closer, came that dramatic sighing animal noise. "That is seriously the most depressing animal I've ever heard." Cid was up on his feet, leaning to look around for whatever was making it.

Wendy leaned over the railing a bit more, scanning the sidewalks below only to be caught by glinting animal eyes. It was dark and shadowy so she couldn't tell what it was, but it certainly made that sound. "Cat maybe? Do foxes sigh dramatically?" They didn't get a lot of foxes in the city but it wouldn't be unheard of. Animals went where easy food was. It made a deep noise again and she was squinting over her glasses. She did the standard cat call, hissing gently, " C'mere~ do cats eat chinese food? Should we give it some chinese food?"

"Isn't there some shrimp in there? Cats like shrimp." Cid was leaning and watching the glinting eyes of the possible cat-thing that was below. "You keep calling it, I'll go get the chinese." They were probably the worst at this. This is why they did not have pets. Cid slid around Wendy, slipping back inside and coming back out moments later with a takeout box, chopsticks ( because he was that nerd), and a piece of shrimp held between them. " Oi, kitty." A piece of shrimp was dropped to the ground. "Come be depressed up here with us and eat some shrimp." They weren't even stoned yet and this was where there evening was going.

"Pssst Pssssst.." She was waggling her fingers at the thing and when Cid was back with shrimp she passed the joint to him again. The shrimp happened to fall right at the edge of a patch of light and the animal sniffed towards it until a large dark floofy cat head (was it dirty?) poked out of nowhere and scarfed the shrimp down. "Cat!" She pointed, " It's a big a** fluffy cat. C'mere keekee" Wendy triumphantly called to the kitty who now pinned them with the saddest of blue eyed stares. "Oh jeezus its pathetic and dirty....."

Cid took the joint, letting Wendy do the critter calling while he supplied the shrimp and got another hit. "J'sus," he muttered around the joint, " s'huge." Also it looked ridiculously sad. The joint was held back for Wendy to take while he dropped another piece of shrimp - hopefully making the point that, hey. The crazy humans will supply you with shrimp if you get your a** up here sadface. "... seriously, it looks like one of those ... what the ******** were they called? Precious moments? Big sad eyes and s**t." At least it did look like the cat hopped up, quite quickly, to where the next piece of shrimp landed.

Wendy put her hand out to prevent him providing anymore shrimp, "See if he figures it out." The cat walked around in a circle in the light and looked back up at them. It seemed for a moment to be gauging it's options before it disappeared back into the shadows again. Wendy looked and waited, "Like those plushies that are always right by the checkout at the store. Those huge eyed puppies and kittens.." There was a sound in the alley but then nothing. "s**t did we lose it?"

Cid may have pouted slightly at the fact that he was stopped (mostly because this was almost like a video game, okay) but nodded. He blinked as he watched the cat down below and then leaned over to see that it had disappeared. "Yeah, just like that s**t. You know, POS bait." POS always made him giggle. Point-of-sale, piece-of-s**t - sometimes it was all the same thing. "Where the ******** did it go?" He was looking but did not see anything, at least until there was a pair of sad blue eyes suddenly visible as the cat stepped out of shadows on a floor below them. "... dude." Cid, please get your usage of dude checked. You're in the wrong decade.

"Heh.. ok give him- nevermind." Wendy instead stole a shrimp herself to eat, and then another to toss down to the cat. "Good job buddy." She let the cat eat, remembering the joint and lighting it up again to pass. "You gotta come up here for more though." The cat blinked it's eyes up at them and made a grumbly disgruntled sound.

"Oi, the lady makes the rules buddy. Don't make a fuss about it." Cid snorted at the look the cat made at them, taking the joint from Wendy for another hit himself. Instead of dropping another piece of shrimp, he just waved the container back and forth in the air over the railing. "Plenty more if you mosey up this way." Cid was watching those stupidly depressing blue eyes that just slowly blinked at him. The cat turned and flicked it's tail as it disappeared back into the darkness of the shadows.

The can't didn't reappear immediately. Wendy was looking around for him, but there was just silence, until a good few minutes passed (where she'd partaken in more chinese food) and the deep meow was heard above them. The cat's giant black head peeked over the edge of the roof and dropped something out of his mouth down onto their balcony. A dead mouse. "Oh- jesus god.. he brought us a present." The giant cat then leapt down to the railing and watched them. He was pretty big and insanely fluffy and so goddamn sad looking. And vaguely dirty.
