It had been over a month since she had come to the Academy, yet the little hybrid couldn't find the reason why she was here. Her parents had sent her here to "socialize" with her betrothed, but what was the point when she couldn't find him? After asking endlessly, she had finally found him, well... at least his dorm. Her wings flittered, curious. Did his parents tell him about his and her situation?
All of this worrying about the future was pointless when they had school now, especially when she was busy being a little hellion, much to the teachers’ chagrin. But pushing that thought to the side, Taffy knocked on the door, unsure of what expression she should be wearing. Ready or not, here she was.

Cybelle was in his dorm room alone studying his book on carriages and magical machienes, when he heard a knock on the door, he had no idea who would be looking for him or Wren, so he went to the door and opened it. Then saw the girl his parents told him he was suppose to marry. Cybelle groaned softly, he didn't want to do some dramatic I'm in love with Wren speach to this girl he didn't know, nor did he really want to hurt this girl's feelings it wasn't her fault that their customs were stupid. "Hi can I help you??" Cybelle said playing dumb, to see if maybe she didn't know who he was.

Taffy kept a neutral look as well as she could when he opened the door. Yes, that was Cybelle, the search was correct and she’d have to thank the people she asked. Now, to get to the hard part.
She still wasn’t quite sure why she was even doing this. He didn’t seem to know what was going on and socializing might not be of much help. “I’m Taffeite, Taffy. We’re technically betrothed.” Anyone could tell that she wasn’t exactly thrilled at the prospect. “Sorry for the sudden visit. I’ve been trying to find you for a while. My parents wanted me to ‘socialize’ with you.”

Cybelle wanted to whack his head on the door, he sighed and said "Yes I've heard of you Taffeite, and yes my parents told me we are betrothed, I don't want my parents telling me who to marry, I don't intend to marry right away, anyways do you?? Wouldn't you rather pick who you love, rather than our parents bossing you around or us having to do some dramatic show, to prove we love the person we choose?" Cybelle stepped back to make room for her to come into his dorm room. Wren's side of the room was all homey and cute while Cybelle's side of the room had carriage posters, and books on what he was studying. "I won't kick you out of my life just because of our parents." he rubbed the back of his head and said quietly "But I don't want to marry you is that ok??"

It was music to her ears! “That’s just perfect, Cybelle!” She grinned, tail swaying in amusement. “That’s exactly how I feel, but my parents just blew me off.”
“Thanks, your room is really nice.” She made her way into his room, easily making herself at home and snagging a seat. There was a certain dichotomy to the room, but it seemed like he had a nice roommate. Heck, maybe she could meet them later. For now, she might as well make herself comfortable with her ‘fiancé.’ She nearly snickered to herself. “Honestly, I don’t know why our parents still go with this old tradition. It’s a joke.” Heck, even if her mother was a pure chimera, her father was a litch and grimm hybrid. There was nothing traditional about her.

Cybelle chuckled "I'm glad you agree Taffy, I was terrified that we would have to do some crazy dramatic scene to break this off, or worse you wanted to follow our parent's wishes." Cybelle groaned and rolled his eyes, seriously what century did their parents think this was?? Cybelle smiled and said "Thanks Taffy, Wren's side is cuter than mine, I'm just a carriage guy, I like working on machines." Cybelle nodded "I don't get it, my grandparents would never have allowed my parents to pick a hybrid as my mate, back in the day, so clearly things change, yet still they don't want to let me decide who I love and when I'm ready to get married?? Why??" Cybelle groaned and sat down on his bed and gestured to the spot next to him. After all they were suppose to be close and they agreed their parents were nuts so he might as well be nice to her.

“Nah, if I was really upset, I’d just blow up your dorm.” It was a playful threat, but that’s what she would probably do if she was that mad. She was just happy that she could have a friend out of this socializing rather than a to-be mate. “I’m a demolitions kind of gal, so I feel you,” she said with a laugh
“Well, my mom said that she was friends with your parents, so maybe they were just being weird and wanting to see what kinds of kids we’d have. Gross gross gross! ” She shuddered at the thought. It was gross that their parents were playing matchmaker, even if it was just an old tradition. “Can I call you Cy? Or some nickname. If we’re going to be friends, I’d like a nickname for you.” She beamed as she moved onto his bed, glancing around the room with a smile then back to him.

Cybelle's eyes widened and he said "Remind me never to make you made then Taffy." he smiled demolition sounded cool, as long as it didn't involve the dorm going up in smoke and flames, he rather likely Taffy. Cybelle laughed "Yea I want kids when I grow up, but I'm a kid myself right now and more worried about getting good grades then who I'm going to marry." Cybelle nodded "Sure since I'm calling you Taffy, that sounds fair, Cy sounds alright to me." he answered calmly. Cy wasn't a bad nickname, there were far worse things he could be nicknamed that would piss him off. It did cross Cy's mind having both Wren and Taffy in his life, he wondered if their bond would grow as they got older. Cybelle smiled at the thought of a little girl with Wren's freckles and long black hair or purple wings and his grey hair. Cy laughed, he was a goofy dreamer.

"I'll try to help you remember," she said with a grin. But she had to nod at the comment. Although she wasn't really as interested in kids as he was for a future endeavor, she could respect the desire. Sure, he was cute, but hey, friendship first. She was still at the point where she would much prefer raiding the cafeteria for food. “Kids are for grown-ups and we have awhile until that happens. I’m just happy that you agree.”
“Good! I think it has a nice ring to it. You shall forever be known as Cy.” She wasn’t sure how well that would catch on in the long run, but she was contented with this. She was also quite enjoying the visit, "So tell me more about yourself, Cy."

Cy chuckled and said "Thanks I think.." He smiled at her he liked Taffy, and it was nice that she wasn't planning to pounce him and cry that they were meant to be together forever. Which is what Cybelle had fear would happened when he met the girl that his parents wanted him to marry. Cy shrugged "I'm not sure what there is else to tell about me, I like tinkering, building and fixing things, eating snacks and drinks, what about you Taffy??" Cy asked curiously wonder what else Taffy liked besides blowing stuff up, there had to be more to her than that right??

Ugh, what a relief it was that he wasn’t what she expected. Though, he did give off the illusive vibe… maybe he was just outright avoiding her like the plague. She’d have to ask him about that later. But she nodded, even from the small meeting they have had, that seemed just like him.
“Eating is my forte! I like making things too. I’m actually learning how to bake with magic.” She wanted to have better control over her magic, especially because it wasn’t hot enough currently to, you know, actually achieve any of her career goals. She refused to go into culinary though, “don’t think of me as some girly girl who wants to bake treats for the hubby though. Baking takes a lot of skill.”

Cybelle smiled "My roommate Wren wants to open a bed and breakfast when he grows up maybe you can talk to him about cooking and baking , though I like food too." Cybelle nodded "You don't have to be a girly girl with me, I like you the way you are Taffy, I like you straight forward and honest. I just hope you don't try to blow me up if I make you made." Cy yawned a bit tired "It was nice meeting you Taffy, I think I'm going to take a nap, maybe we can hang out another time??" Cybelle asked hopefully. He really did like Taffy, just not enough to agree to marry her.

“Yeah, maybe I can meet him on my next visit here!” The little hybrid grinned as she scooted her way off of his bed. “Thank you, Cy, I’ll let you take your nap. Thank you for having me over and for hearing me out. I’m glad that we can be friends!”
With a small yawn and stretch, she made her way to the door, giving a small wave to him back. “I’ll hold you to that! Maybe we can do something next week? Make it something that would work for both Wren and you maybe?” she grinned. She didn’t want him to be uncomfortable considering she kind of caught him in his own dorm. Baby steps of friendship, yes.

Cybelle smiled and said "Alright we'll plan that and do something fun together another day." Then he walked to the door and opened it "I have some homework to do, so I'll talk to you later." Cy said firmly Fade to black..
