Science, Yihad's favorite class. Hu always looked forward to coming in and doing science experiments in the lab or learning something new. Usually hu would just remain by humself and do the assignment, but today was going to be different. The moment the teacher began to explain the instructions, hus face began to look nervous. Why might you ask was it doing that? Because hu was nervous. Yihad wasn't good with other people, hu was always afraid of doing something wrong due to hum not understanding most social cues. Not only that, but it was looking like hu wouldn't even get a choice as to who hu was going to end up with since it was random pairing up with names in a hat.

With a gulp, Yihad got up to the front when hus name was called to pick a name near the end of the list. There wasn't many people left in the class, and Yihad knew none of the other students left to draw from the hat. Once hu grabbed a name, hu looked it over and tired to figure out if hu knew who they were ", Gw-... Gwen?"

"Yes... I'm Yi-... Yihad," hu responded, looking down at the floor to hus right. How did one interact with someone for assignments like this? Did they just start talking about what they were supposed to do for the assignment and then do it? Sure hu had done partnered assignments in other classes, but not yet in science. Wait, weren't they supposed to be sitting down after they found their lab partner?! ", Umm... do you want me to sit b-... by you?"

"Sorry," hu looked away from her with a small blush. Hu was finding it hard talking to this fellow student, a litch even! If only she knew that hu just had a hard time being social and all that sort of stuff. Then maybe she would understand why hu was was being so shy and nervous ", Yes I... I know lots about science. It... it is my favorite."

Following Gwen to her spot, hu pulled hus chair over and sat next to her desk, looking up at her for a moment before looking down at the material and instruction sheet. Hu knew what they were supposed to do, but hu wasn't sure hu would be able to do it if hu had to work with a partner ", Sorry, I'm not good with other people."

"Yes I understand the project, and I can read," Yihad responded to what Gwen had said, lifting a book from hus bag to reveal a science fiction book that was known for being for really intellectual readers, both in science and in literacy. It was also know to be hard to read fast since it was such a long book. Hu wanted to prove that hu wasn't going to slow her down in the reading and science department ", my favorite book. Read it three times the past month. Now... onto the project? I've read over the instructions already and know what we are supposed to do."

"What... what I think of it?" Hu repeated, twiddling with his thumbs as hu sat down and thought about it. Hu didn't keep any eye contact with Gwen while hu did this, mostly for hus own comfort ", Well... I am more for the science side of the stars, but I understand today's project. We're supposed to make a diagram of the skeletal body for two different races, mark which bones are the same or similar, and then mark which bones are different. The two different races don't matter, as long as they are two separate races and not nearly identical, like the litches and elves. Ummm... how about we do a nightmare race and a daydream race?"

"A grimm and a goblin sound good to me," hu responded, starting to open up a bit more. Sure hu was still acting rather nervous, fiddling with hus fingers quite a bit, but hu was stuttering less and less the more hu talked with Gwen ", They both have tails and claws, but even then those two features are quite different. Then we have their feet, which is really different. Their ears are different as well. I-... I think this pairing is a good one to do."

Hu tried to act a bit less nervous with the next few words hu was about to say, wanting to show Gwen that hu was serious about the project and what hu was about to request ", Hey Gwen? Can I... ummm... can I be the one to do the drawing? I promise I am really good at it!"

"Bones are not my specialty either, but it is nice to know what I can about them," hu agreed, working on drawing out the bone structures and circling the differences. Like hu had said, hus drawings were amazing. Surely if hu wanted to hu could go into an art field instead of a science one, but perhaps hu just liked science that much? With the drawings already down and fantastically crafted, hu slowed Gwen what hu had made while she was telling hum what to circle ", What do you think?"

Hu gave a nod, followed by a gentle smile. Hu liked the fact that Gwen had said he had done a good job. Hu honestly tried a little harder to impress her, slowly beginning to think she was alright ", yeah, I think the motes are really good. We did a good job I think. Will you be presenting it then? I can try... but I feel I would mess up and get us a bad grade. I don't want to do that to you."
