Safari Contest [Fuchsia City] - (Closed)

Ryan cashes in 5 Snag Tickets ( 19 -> 14) and then pulls out one of his Net Balls and tosses it at the struggling Slowpoke. Here's hoping!

Staring at the Rhyhorn, Jezebel gets frustrated, "I'm about done with this."

"Two Rhyhorn in a row? Ugh" Recalling her Vulpix, Jezebel starts back toward the exit.

And the Ball would click shut. Ryan walks over and picks it up, then recalls Graft. A successful hunt. He would at the least come away with the pokemon he caught and the Snag Tickets he spent, at worst, would be broken even. So quite worth that chance.

Trish barely dodged another Ryhorn charging through town, this time rolling into the side of a building. An abandoned house from the look of it. Regardless, she climbed back to her feet, brushed herself off and called Idina over to her side before moving on.

Another Weedle crawled out of a clump of grass ahead of Trish but it never saw her, moving on with it's life and going about it's day as if she hadn't even existed in the first place.  

[Arkelos]

Jezebel in her frustration failed to noticed the slightly raised sidewalk, trips. Falling to the ground. "OUCH, What the-?" Turning to the bushes she sees an oddly shaped mushroom. "Huh, I've not seen that type of mushroom before." Reaching for the unique mushroom it begun to move.

Out of the bushes a Paras crawls out. "Oh, it's a Paras. This pokemon could most certainly help me with a herbal garden. I must catch it!"

Jezebel quickly brings out Vulpix. "Okay Cayenne, Lets do this and we're good to go. Got enough strength in you?" The small Vulpix spits embers out in approval. "Alright, lets get this started. Be wary of it's spores and you'll be fine. Lets keep it moving; Flamethrower to the left and right." Flames went barreling down toward the small grass type with fierce speed. Paras quickly uses barrier, than uses dig. "Cayenne, sense the ground. Feel the tremors." The ground started crumbling just behind Vulpix, "Behind you." It was a trap, Vulpix turned around only be attacked from behind.

"That Paras is sneaky, Hmmm, lets see if we can get it to use dig again. Cayenne, Flamethrower again, as soon as it digs throw some embers down the tunnel." Cayenne stands back up and unleashes another flamethrower." The Paras uses protect and disappears underground as well. "Now is your chance, Quickly throw some fire." The hole engulfs the fire and moments later the Paras come up with a hot tail. Falling to the ground, it turns around and uses stun spore. "Cayenne, avoid that spore attack." Looking at the Paras and Vulpix Jezebel thinks for a moment. "Those spores gave me an idea."[/i}

"Cayenne, leave a dust trail, and than use fire spin." Vulpix jumps toward the Paras, missing every time. The ground gets more and more coated in stun spores, and the air around Paras as well. "Cayenne, Fire spin now," Shooting flames at the ground, it starts circling the Paras, igniting the spores. The speed and direction starts causing a chain reaction, causing a huge explosion. Vulpix jumps out of the fray, the Paras stands there in a daze. "Now is my chance." Throwing a Safari ball, she hopes for the best.

The Paras escapes the capture, "Damn, Okay Cayenne lets try this scorch the ground beneath it." Vulpix throws embers around Paras' feet, It attacks with grass knot. The Vulpix tripping on some vines, gives Paras the opportunity to use Leech life. Vulpix rolls over and gives a cheap shot embers at Paras sending it flying into a tree. "Okay lets try this again." Throwing her 2nd Safari ball, hopes start to rise.

"GAH! Clearly this pokemon does not want to be captured. Cayenne send a flamethrower directly at it, knock it out completely." Vulpix breaths in and lets out a Powerful and fierce flamethrower at Paras, turning the tree into ash and causing the Paras to twitch. "Okay last try." Throwing her last Safari ball, she crosses her fingers.

Lynnette gasped as she found herself face to face with exactly what she was looking for. Its glistening purple eyes staring at her intensely. "Yes! Finally!" Lynnette would say, clasping her hands together. The Dratini tilted its head, looking confused as to why this girl seemed so excited. It would look towards Hook, immediately shrinking back as it noticed the Fairy Pokemon. Turning around, the Dragon Pokemon would attempt to run away. "We can't let it get away, Hook! Play Rough!" Hook would lunge towards his opponent, who appeared to start slithering away faster as it noticed that it was being pursued. However, it still wasn't quite quick enough, as Hook landed on its back, wrapping his arms around its neck. The Dratini would yelp, flailing itself around in an effort to get the Snubbull to release its grip.

Hook would hold on as tight as he could, or at least, he did until the Dratini Slammed him into the ground. The Fairy Pokemon would let go with a gasp as the air was knocked out of him. The Dratini would Slam its tail into the Snubbull's stomach before he could catch his breath again. "Hook! Be careful!" Lynnette would cry out, seeing that her Snubbull was having a hard time getting back up. Hook would growl slightly, and start to get to his feet again. The Dratini would attempt to Slam Hook with its tail again, but this time, Hook was expecting it, and managed to lunge forward and clamp onto the tail with a Fire Fang. The Dratini yelped, flailing its tail around, trying again to toss the Snubbull away. This time, however, Hook would keep a good hold on his opponent.

Seeing as how the Dratini was distracted by Hook, Lynnette would grab one of the Safari Balls she had, tossing it towards the Dragon Pokemon.

Instead of catching the Dratini, the Safari Ball would bounce off of Hook's head. The Dratini would giggle as the Snubbull loosened his grip slightly. However, Hook decided to let go, only to lunge at the Dratini again, pinning it to the ground. The Dratini would thrash about, trying to get the Snubbull to release it. Hook would sink his teeth into the Dratini's neck, causing it to yelp again. Hook was growling fiercely as he held the Dratini in place. Lynnette would take this chance to toss the second Safari Ball at the Dratini. Here's hoping it worked this time!

Lynnette would hold her breath as she watched the ball catch the Dratini in a red glow, closing tight around it. The ball would wiggle a couple times before clicking, signifying that the catch had been successful. Hook would fall backwards to lay on his back, clearly exhausted. Lynnette would smile, walking towards her Pokemon. She would pick up the Safari ball in one hand, holding it tightly. "You did a good job Hook. You deserve to get some rest," she would say, recalling her Snubbull into his Pokeball. And with that, Lynnette would start her trek back to where everyone would be gathering to get their Pokemon judged.

Here was an unusual creature, in Trish's eyes. A Farfetch'd now stood before her, leek in hand, eyes turned toward a cup-like stone which appeared to be full of water. Was that a fire underneath it?

"Is that bird.....cooking?" She asked Idina, not quite sure that what she was looking at was what she thought she was.

"Looks like it. Should we help?" Idina asked, wondering if Trish would want to battle the bird.

"Of course. A bird that knows how to prepare itself for dinner would be convenient, after all." Trish commented, preparing to battle. "Why not get it's water boiling faster with Fire Spin?"

Idina nodded, held her baton aloft before her and conjured a spiral flame from it's tip.

Farfetch'd spun on one flat foot, mimicked he Braixen's pose like a mirror and launched it's own Fire Spin from the tip of it's leek. The twin flames spun opposite directions, appearing to mirror one another perfectly as they met between the two Pokemon, canceling one another out almost perfectly. Idina's was stronger but not by enough to win anytime soon.

"Alright, try a Psyshock!" Trish called after it became clear she wasn't winning.

"Fetch!" Farfetch'd cried as Idina conjured her orb of psionic energy. As the fox wound up to strike at it, the duck held it's leek high in the air, a single star appearing at it's tip. Spinning around and thrusting the vegetable forward, the wood duck launched the Swift beam straight towards Idina's Psyshock orb.Ikt struck just as Idina hit the orb, the colliding kinetic energies from opposing sides caused the psychic attack to explode in place, blasting Idina backwards.

"Jeez. This bird knows what it's doing." Idina, use Flame Charge to get in close, then hit it with Psyshock!"

Idina nodded and darted forward, wrapped in flames. Farfetch'd duplicated itself and it's pot of water with Double Team, the many clones taunting her in unison just moments before she crashed through one of them. The waterfowl raised it's leek once again, an orb of swirling air around it's green end before it lashed out, dragging the orb out into a single long blade.

Idina sensed the incoming attack and spun around, on her paws, blasting off with a Flame Charge, spinning around in the air to blaze past the Air Slash, coming in fast. Farfetch'd squawked in surprise, holding it's leek ahead of it as if it would protect it from the attack. Idina would have smirked if her vulpine muzzle would have allowed for it, though she'd have regretted it instantly. Only an instant before contact, Farfetch'd's leek flashed deep black and the bird zipped past Idina, blazing a black trail through her fiery cloak.

"That hurt, you under cooked Snubbull Snack!" Idina yelped after the Night Slash registered. Farfetch'd pulled one of it's lower eyelids down with a feather(or were those fingers?) and squawked derisively, clearly mocking the fox.

"Fetchfetchfetch! Faaaaaaaar fetchfetchfetch!"

Trish never got the chance to call another order. Idina's anger at the teasing(not taunting, really), triggered an awakening in her power and her eyes began to glow when she thrust her baton forward. Farfetched expected a Psyshock again and prepared another Swift to counter, though when the stars were released, they froze in place, captured by Psychic. Idina spun them faster, hurling the stars through the air with her mental strength guiding and empowering them. Farfetch'd ducked and dodged it's returned attack as quickly as possible. It couldn't escape forever, though, even with it's Double Team. Idina managed to blindside it and while it was recovering, she grabbed the avian and threw it around, slamming it into a tree, the side of a building and twice into the ground before releasing it, the energy for her Psychic attack finally running out.

Regardless of it, the duck finally held still long enough for Trish to throw an Ultra Ball.

"Far.....far fetch'd!"

"You made me ruin it's birthday cake......" Idina whimpered, suddenly feeling terrible about this battle.

The ball shook only once before bursting open once again and freeing the birthday bird. Trish was prepared for it with a second Ultra Ball in hand, throwing it almost the instant Farfetch'd re-materialized from the first ball.

When the new ball stilled, Trish picked it up, taking out the Great Ball which had contained the Scyther she caught earlier, proceeding to release it. Gathering up the now defunct Ultra Ball and Great Ball, she decided to hand them over to Ambrosia for her alchemy later. Whatever. She now had a gift for her special new friend if she could keep it. Now time to actually round up some of these Pokemon. She'd take out the small stash of Safari Balls she'd been given and get to work actually capturing them to return home.
