He scratched at his chin lightly, staring at himself in the mirror. He hadn’t shaved in a couple of days because honestly he hadn’t thought about it. Kor had been busy between trying to get Laine happy and his own work, keeping the place clean, Kor just hadn’t had the time or energy to do more than take a shower. His chin scruff was growing back it’s natural black color and he sighed hard. He looked at his dreads that were still that red brown color and just clicked his tongue. He’d had his dreadlocks for years, he’d dyed them time and again, mainly just root touch ups as he kept locking them, and hummed.
Maybe, just maybe, he should get a new hairstyle. If he did it, he wouldn’t want Laine to know. It wasn’t something he was seriously considering right now. One day in the future, definitely. He forgot what he looked like with black hair. He brought a hand up to tug at his bangs before taking the scissors out and then took a comb and ran it through his bangs. Slowly he trimmed them up, frowning a little bit as he did. They were getting curly. He’d straighten them after his shower.
After stripping down, Kor ran his shower water and stepped in. Time for a deep cleaning. Laine was still asleep and Kor knew he could take his time. She was still depressed, but he hadn’t given her the ring yet. He was trying to wait for the right moment, but it just… hadn’t come up yet. No matter what he did, Kor couldn’t get her to buck up at all.
Though she did have her moments of smiling and bouncing almost back to her old self, but she was tired so often.
These were the thoughts that ran through his head as he washed his dreads, being really careful about the whole process. Short hair would be weird… It’d be a lot lighter and he wouldn’t know what to do with all the free time he had from not having to wash so much hair or dry it, or wax it to protect it or what not.
Maybe if he got his hair cut, dyed black… She would have something else to focus on and then the time would be right to give her the ring. Kor chewed on his lip lightly between his piercings Kor mused how he would give it to her.
In a little homemade sundae? That ...could actually be really good. ….Yeah, in a homemade sundae after a date outside. Maybe dinner, dancing, and a movie. Or movie, then dinner, then dancing, and then he’d bring her home and make her an ice cream sundae and put the ring just on top instead of a cherry.
Hot damn, he had just found the perfect way to really propose to her.
