User Image Yong Zhi padded across the plains on his way from his usual stomping grounds. Just because he was from the North didn't mean he had to stay there at all times. In fact, it was generally frowned upon to have every single soldier in one place. How would the pride be protected if they all holed up in one spot? He wasn't on a mission having to do with his job, though. It was a more...personal reason.

He was on the hunt for an Artisan, someone with deft paws and an eye for design. His mane had been growing bothersome as of late during his training, with his bangs constantly flopping in front of his eyes. He needed something to keep it back, but he didn't want to use scraps of cloth or bits of sticks like some of the other soldiers did. He was a dignified male and wasn't about to mess up his mane when the pride had dozens of lions that were ready and willing to create beautiful yet functional pieces to do the job.

The only problem was he wasn't sure who to ask. He could go up to random lions and ask them if they were Artisans or knew someone who was, but that really wasn't his style. He was hoping he'd bump into someone who looked like an Artisan rather than having to bother everyone on their daily routine.

Deep within the heart of the West, Shi Wei was taking a break from the more bustling area of the Bazaar. She was near the outskirts, and had just laid down to stretch out for awhile - while she wasn't exactly new to the pride and her responsibilities, she hadn't yet become entirely accustomed to being so busy all of the time. In her previous pride, she had lived a fairly relaxed life of a Priestess, tending to those who would come to the temple lost or looking for guidance. Here, there were so many others who were in want of trinkets or tools, little things that constantly needed to be crafted. She had always been skilled with her paws, but it was definitely a change.

She looked around, eyeing the comings and goings of different members - she could spot a few Lords and Ladies every once in awhile, perusing the various wares that had been brought out. Shi Wei tended to not make enough pieces to bring out to the Bazaar, but she kept busy with custom requests.

Every once in awhile, she'd spot someone from a different house coming through, taking advantage of the skills the West offered - even now, her eyes landed on a strikingly red male that she did not recognize, making her immediately think that he must be from a different house. Her eyes followed him briefly, moving to another lion as he moved in closer.

After walking around with no luck, Yong Zhi resigned himself to the fact that he would have to simply ask someone. Everyone that walked by could have been an Artisan and he couldn't tell them apart from any other lion! He signed softly and turned his paws towards the closest lion he could find. Hopefully he wouldn't be bothering them...

He approached a speckled female and cleared his throat a bit. He held his head high but his eyes were downcast out of respect since he had no idea who she was or what rank she held. He didn't want to come off as rude, after all.

"Good day," he said formally. "I'm seeking an Artisan. Would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of where I might find one?"

Though her eyes had shifted away from him, Shi Wei's gaze returned to the red male, especially now that it appeared that he was approaching her. She wasn't really sure what someone could be approaching her about right now - she wasn't actively working, though maybe he heard about her custom pieces and was interested. That, or he was just lost. Either way, Shi Wei gave a smile as he neared.

"An artisan?" She looked up at him, her smile still on her face. "Well, you've certainly come to the right place! This area is chock-full of artisans!" She looked towards the more crowded part of the Bazaar, gesturing as she spoke. "I, myself, am one as well!" Since he'd asked, she knew that he was almost certainly from a different house. She was more than happy, though, to help him out and point him in the right direction.

"You may call me Shi Wei." She dipped her head briefly, slowly rising to her feet. "Though, if you're looking to browse some wares, I believe one of my other fellow artisans would be a better selection." She laughed lightly, gesturing again towards the Bazaar.

Ah, what luck. An Artisan in the flesh! He bobbed his head as she did in greeting, committing her name to memory so as not to appear rude later on in the conversation.

"I am Yong Zhi," he returned before she pressed on. Turning to glance at the bazaar area a feeling of mild anxiety overtook him. That was a lot of looking to do. Turning to face Shi Wei again, he shook his head at her offer.

"I think fate has brought me to you for a reason. What sort of things do you craft?" he asked, hoping it would be more functional rather than pretty decorations or pots and bowls. Those things were nice, of course, but he really needed something that served a purpose more than looking nice.

"I'm in need of something to keep my mane from my eyes as I train," he explained. "My companions use rather crude means to do so and I'd prefer to have something that both serves a purpose and is pleasant to look at. Something durable but still graceful."

Watching him glance over her fellow artisans, she couldn't help but feel a bit hopeful that he'd request for her to make him something. Her green eyes lit up as he turned back to her.

"Well, we can't quite argue with fate, can we?" Shi Wei giggled slightly, a beaming smile lingering on her face. "I specialize in smaller, custom requests." Her expression changed slightly; she had such pride when she spoke of her craft. "I have crafted jeweled ornaments for some fine ladies, pieced together head ornaments for some noble dukes..." she trailed off, remembering the various pieces she had crafted. "I suppose you could say that I specialize in decorating the body." Some had come in looking for pieces less flashy, which Shi Wei was happy to accommodate. Personally, she had never been the biggest fan of the flashier things in life, but never judged those who were.

"A hair piece?" Her eyes moved up, scanning his mane. It did seem a little long; once her eyes locked on, the ideas flowed to her mind. Coming to her paws, she leaned in closer, seemingly in a daze. "Why, yes, I think I can assist you." Her eyes widened slightly as she focused on him again. "Excuse me." Her face felt a little flush; she hadn't meant to get so close. "It, um, might take a few days, if that's alright?" She returned her gaze to his, hoping he was still interested.

As Shi Wei moved closer, Yong Zhi held very still, not wanting to disrupt any sort of artistic process that was going on. He also felt like backing up might be seen as rude. He had no idea how artisans worked, and while he had a healthy 'personal bubble', he knew he could tough this out if it meant Shi Wei could get whatever information she needed.

As the brown lioness backed up a bit, he nodded slightly. "Of course. Take all the time you need. I'll remain in the area until you're finished. What sort of payment would you like?" he added, knowing not to expect something for nothing. "I'm afraid I don't have any items with which to trade at the moment, but I'm sure I can acquire something you'd value in the time it will take you to make the piece."

"I think...if you know of anything interesting, that's all I would like." Shi Wei smiled softly, wondering if he'd come across any interesting or unique objects in his travels; hopefully something was still close by.

"I'm just always interested in new materials." She giggled briefly, hoping it wasn't a too out-there request. "If nothing too unique, some new materials would still be nice. Nothing specific, though - I'd like whatever you think would be useful to me." Smiling, the brown lioness valued the opinions of others, and if he could go out and think something useful, then it must be.

"If that's alright, then I will see you again in a few days, sir." Dipping her head slightly, her mind had already moved to what materials she might use and what design to construct.

The answer he got was vague but perhaps that was for the best. Yong Zhi gave a little nod and wracked his mind for something that might be of value to a lioness like her. Perhaps something shiny she could work into a different craft that would fetch a high price or perhaps something she herself could enjoy, a necklace from another crafter or even just a good hunk of zebra. He'd have to get creative, that was for sure.

"Thank you," he said with a little nod. "I'll see you with your payment then." Despite the mild worry of finding something that would be worth the product Shi Wei was going to produce, the red male couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of seeing his new piece. It would have both form and function and he knew that having to wait would only make his anticipation grow.

He turned after bowing in farewell and headed off slowly, his mind racing as he sought the best payment for the female.

"Hopefully I make something satisfactory." She dipped her head again, hoping that her skills were up to par. She wasn't worried about what she'd receive in return - Shi Wei was such a laid-back lioness, she already had everything she really needed. Plus, she was always happy to help others.

She watched the red lion turn and head off, expecting to see him in a few days.
