He had been planning on bringing Seung with him again next time he visited his Wonder but Terry eventually ended up deciding to go on his own. That way he could possibly set up a small surprise for the other. So he made sure to find a time where no one would be needing him for something, let Matt know where he would be just in case, then found a good spot that would be hidden and safe to teleport from and back. He had with him a couple of bags and a backpack, each filled with items that would make visiting his Wonder a better time for himself and who ever he brought with him, though the only person he would bring so far was Venice and possibly in the future he would see about bringing Matt. But Matt would only be brought if he was completely sure that his brother would not be harmed in any way shape or fashion.
When he was finished teleporting to his Wonder he opened his eyes and took in where he had landed this time. While he was sure he could decide just where in his Wonder he would teleport to, it was always fun to see where his magic would take him if given free reign over it. This time it seemed he had ended up in the middle of the river bed, a good five minute walk upstream from the island the mansion rested on. The Squire blinked in surprise then turned in a circle slowly, having never been in this direction just yet, and as he was turned in the opposite direction from the island he noticed something dark in the distance though it was too far to fully make out.
After staring at it for a few minutes trying to figure out just what he was seeing, he turned back around and started the walk back to the mansion so he could drop off the bags and set up some of the items be had brought. As he walked he kept looking at the ground and trees to see if there were any changes from the last time he was here but so far he didn’t notice anything that would stand out. And it would have to stand out since he wasn’t sure what to be looking for after all, the only reason why he knew the soil looked slightly more healthy last time was because it had been less dusty and cracked than it had been the first time he had arrived. Now however it seemed just the same as when he had visited with Venice.
His thoughts were interrupted when he arrived to the island and he hiked up the incline, careful not to over balance with the bags, and stopped when he was on the island proper to turn around and see if he could catch a glimpse of the shadow from here. As he did so Erebus discovered that, no, he couldn’t see the shadow any more so it was obvious that he had lucked out in seeing it only thanks to his magic teleporting him into the river bed. “Just what is it though?” He asked no one in particular, his curiosity perked. After standing there a moment longer he shook his head and turned back to the mansion and headed inside.
Once inside he was tempted to drop the bags then go back and follow the river bed to find out just what it was that he saw but instead continued on to his past life’s bedroom. The walk to the top floor was just as he remembered it, lit up by the flashlight he had attached to his belt and turned on so it would be hands free. Once he reached the double doors to his room he pushed them open and moved inside, dropping the bags in the entryway including the backpack. The floor was cleaned off the figurines thanks to Seung and him picking them up last time so he dug into one of the bags to pull out the camping bed that he had gotten. It would be a temporary solution until he could get an actual mattress but it would certainly work for now and it was big enough for two.
As he set up the camping bed and the battery powered pump to fill it with air his eyes slid over to the door he hadn’t looked behind yet. He knew it was the bathroom for the room but he wasn’t sure what it looked like since both Seung and him had gotten distracted last time after he had opened his closet and found the dresses. When the pump was going he stood up and made his way to the door, noticing that it wasn’t carved or decorated like a good bit of the doors in the mansion, then opened it. The room that had been hidden was a large one, with a secluded area with the toilet in a corner, a sink with a long counter and a large mirror on the wall that was in need of cleaning. When caught his attention the most though was the bath that was built into the floor. It was large enough to fit multiple people inside with built in seats and steps, as well as it was lit up by the floor length windows behind it. As he stood there taking it all in a flash of memory danced through his mind.
~“My, my. Would you like me to join you?” A husky voice asked. The feeling of embarrassment, thrill, and excitement. “Please do.”~
When he was done looking around the room he returned to the bedroom to stop the pump and cover the camping bed in plastic that could be removed when it was going to be used and sheets were to be put on. He then left a bag with sheets and a blanket still in there plastic packaging on top of it. He would have to bring proper pillows next time around of course. That done he left another bag by the bed that held some packaged food that wouldn’t go bad for a long time as well as bottles of water, all and all it would last either two days or four depending on if it was just him or if he brought another person to stay,
That done the brought the last bag into the bathroom but just left it on the counter. Inside the bag was a camping shower, some soap, and various other things that would make staying easier. It wasn’t much and everything would need to be thoroughly cleaned before it would help but it was something and a good start if he decided to stay for a while as he cleaned up. With one last look around the room he left the mansion, leaving the backpack that was filled with first aid, a fire starting kit, and a few books he had bought that would help in restoration, by the bed as well.
Before he left his Wonder however, he was determined to find out just what it was that he saw. So the Squire went right back into the riverbed and walked upstream. It took him a good while of walking before he had made it to the dark shadow and he stood there looking at the pile of dead trees and other fauna that had fallen into the riverbed long ago. As he looked at it he noticed trickles of water escaping here and there, enough to make some of the ground muddy but nothing more, and got excited. Did this mean that there was a way to bring the water back to the river? He raced up the side of the river bed so he could see over the trees then had to stop and stare. There is was, blocked behind a thick wall of dead plants, the water that was meant to be flowing through his Wonder.
As he stood there he got a smile on his face at the thought that he could restore his Wonder in someway only to freeze. How was he going to move all of the plants?!
