 Meila was a bit nervous, she had left her home with her siblings and now she was moving into a dorm, without her siblings. Meila took her small bag and entered the room, she didn't have much with her. Meila and her siblings didn't have a family, so they were on their own in this new life. Libi had heard that they had strange things she had never seen before and she was curious to learn what all there was to know. She slithered into the dorm room and went up to the bed and gently touched the covers on one of the beds. She looked around at the things in the room, not much was there yet. Two other beds, Meila was curious if she would have roommates.

 Sarren had been at the Academy for a little while now. He had put in a request for a roommate when he first arrived on campus, but it had seemed like they had put it on hold as long as they could. He'd be graduating soon, or well, he hoped anyway, if he passed his classes. Still, when they asked him to move rooms to finally get his roommate, he had to agree. He had been rather lonely in his large dorm room on his own. Mostly, he hoped they wouldn't mind his large collection of plants, which was larger than all the rest of his personal effects combined.
When he reached the door and drew in a breath, one potted plant in his arms, and lifted a hand to gently knock, just in case someone had already beat him to the room. Part of him hoped they hadn't, since he would much prefer the bed closest to a window so he could make sure his plants stayed healthy, but he couldn't begrudge someone else already having taken that bed if they were there first.

Meila looked up when she heard someone knocking on the door and then stepping in with a plant in their arms. Meila wasn't sure how she felt about someone else living in the dorm room with her. She tolerated her siblings, but sometimes, she didn't want to deal with anyone else. So Meila didn't rush to greet her new roommate, she curled up on her bed on her side of the room, and started flipping tarot cards, looking to see if she could figure out if this would be a good arrangement or a bad arrangement.

When Sarren knocked on the door he had waited a few minutes before he was convinced that no one else had been in the room yet. He set the plant down and gently opened the door before picking the plant back up. When he moved in, he nearly jumped when he saw that he was wrong about someone else being there. "Oh! I'm sorry... I didn't mean to barge in." He tried to offer as an apology, though in his mind he had waited the adequate amount of time before opening the door. "My name is Sarren, may I ask yours?" He gently put the planet down on a table and made sure his hand didn't have any dirt on it before offering it to her in a gesture of good will.

Meila frowned a bit nervous about speaking to this person, she had made no friends outside her siblings and she didn't even always like her siblings in the first place. "You did not barge in as long as you are in the right room, are you in the right room??" Meila looked down at her cards, she saw a card for new starts and smiled a little. Meila thought a moment when Sarren gave her their name and said "You sorta did ask didn't you?? After all, wouldn't it be rude if she gave me your name and I refused to give mine back in return??" Meila took Sarren's hand, not worried about dirt, she wasn't afraid of getting a little messy, playing with tea herbs. "I'm Meila." She said simply "So you are my roommate??" She asked in a slightly standoffish way. Still not ready to trust Sarren yet. Meila knew nothing of goblins or most of the other races in general.

Sarren couldn't help but blink at the question, a little taken back by it. Was she unaware that she was going to have a roommate? "Yeah, I'm your roommate." He stated in a slightly unsure manner. This girl was very strange and he wasn't at all sure how he was supposed to talk to her. Did she always talk to herself like that? Still, he felt he should be polite and try to be as friendly as possible, he wasn't very good socially in the first place, and this girl seemed like she'd present a huge challenge to him already. "It's nice to meet you Meila."

Meila looked ar Sarren and nodded "Nice to meet you as well" She said though she wasn't sure if she meant it just yet. She didn't hate Sarren, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to jump up and down and be best friends with Sarren. Meila wasn't sure if she liked living in this area just yet anyway, who's idea had it been again to leave the shifting sands. Meila sighed and got up and moved across the floor her naga tail wiggling back and forth. She went to the little kitchen area in their dorm room and made another cup of tea. "Would you like a cup of tea??"

He frowned a little when he heard the tone in her voice that said she hadn't really meant it. He had always tried to give people the benefit of a doubt, but he wasn't quite sure how to get along with this Naga, especially when it seemed she didn't want to get along with him. Maybe he should have stuck with being alone in his own dorm. He wondered if the Principle would let him change his mind?
He went to gather up the rest of his things and bring them inside when he heard the question. He blinked since this seemed rather out of ordinary compared to the way she had spoken to him so far. "I... Yes, please, if you don't mind." He put on a smile, maybe she wouldn't be so bad?

Meila nodded she couldn't dislike someone who liked tea, it was her thing, that and other spooky divination stuff and that was the way she liked it. "Do you prefer green tea or a fruit tea??" Meila asked as she started making a cup of mandarin orange tea for herself with real tea, not bag tea pieces, so she could read the tea leaves later if she wanted to. "So what do you like to do Sarren??" Meila asked her tone still a little distant but not quite as standoffish as before.

Sarren actually gave a smile for the first time since coming here, daring to live a little on the wild side, then again, he wasn't sure he had ever met a tea he didn't like. "Why don't you surprise me?" He started unpacking some of his things, he figured he should give her a chance, maybe she wasn't so bad, and it wasn't like they'd be roommates for forever. "Botany. I grow and study plants." As if that wasn't obvious with all the plants he had brought with him to the room. Maybe that was something they could bond over? Tea was essentially a plant. So just maybe, having a roommate wouldn't be so bad, after all.

Meila smiled as she warmed a little more to Sarren's sweet not forceful demeanor. She prepared a simple rosehips tea mix with dried raspberries for a sweeter flavor. Meila nodded when she heard him say he liked plants, perhaps this roommate arrangement would be so bad after all.
