Asirel,Mara's second in command, watched the archangel meta unhappily. Out all of the metas they had in the stations now he had to get one of the more unless one. Useless only because he didn't follow orders, questions them, thought himself a "peer" and was still registered as an adoptee and an intern within SIU computers instead of property like his father.

Rumors have been going around that Mara had found another Shadow meta and supposedly that one was even worse and -still-had free reign. He had no idea what she was thinking and usually he wouldn't care as long as it didn't interfe with his side of things which was over seeing the research center proper. He was grateful for the support they gave during the attack but still wondered if there would have been any attack at all if there were now metas here..or at least no free ones.

Still, all in all Ree was trustworthy to a point...which was needed here after he found the flowers and cards sent by Zaku. He had quickly sent that up the chain of command and warned Mara, it had taken a day tracing the owner of the phone number before hitting a block, short of calling they were stuck with what they had. During this time there had been a census ...and as many other more qualify people who could speak to the leader of the Renegades ..and with they had a feeling Mara would hang up, they decided a meta might keep him intrested enough to try and figure out what they were doing.

Ree glanced up at Asirel and repressed as sigh. Cat like eyes narrowing as they both meet each other's eyes and looked away. "They are ready" he motioned to the message on the computer screen as he dialed the number and waited. He wasn't wanted here...he didn't even wonder why. Talk to Zaku .lthat was all thy wanted otherwise Tri and Mara would be in trouble, fine he could do that.Holding the conversation ..let them try to locate Zaku, fine.

Zaku had spent the better part of the day reprimanding Lucian and Michael over what had happened. In fact, the was a full hour of yelling back and forth between Michael and himself as it had finally dawned on him that Kate was not going to return. At least not anytime soon.

Sighing with exasperation, he walked down the hallway towards where he knew Cordelia would be, at least he was hoping he could talk with her, one of the more sensible members of the EE. Then his cellphone started to buzz. After typing in a few things, he looked at the message on it. Proxy Line 016. His attention perked up as he answered it and walked past Cordelia's room instead. "So, tell me... Am I lucky enough to have gotten her, or is it someone else?" he started in immediately. He had a feeling that Mara would be the kind of person to refuse to call him, especially with the way her actions had proved before. He honestly expected someone else, but still remained hopefully that he'd finally get have an actual conversation with her.

"Not lucky enough I am afraid. Zaku Shiroi I assume? Or someone else? " there was only a hint of a smile as he was able to repeat the same response back at him. Fine....he was easily amused and after being stared or glared at during the set up he was almost fishing for it from the EE member.

Okay serious he had to stay serious. He waited and looked toward Asirel and just nodded. Reaching out he absent,y adjusted the pad and pen to be closer to his hand. This was the Leader for Andy and the ones who attacked ...no one believed his apology ..or at least they weren't sure it didn't have more than one message. The reason why everyone was on edge...

Zaku sighed, "I had a feeling... Well, yes. This is actually Zaku Shiori.. infamous leader of the renegade and more personally the leader of the Efficacious Eight etcetera etcetera..." he trailed off as though he didn't exactly take his own title seriously. "So who do I have the pleasure of speaking to? Are you just an underling of hers trying to..." he paused then chuckled a bit. "What do you want to know... since you went through all the effort to call me in her stead.." his voice was light and calm, like talking to a friend on the phone rather than an mortal enemy.

"A feeling? Usually she a lot more blunt than that when she is unhappy with someone or something. She does have a lot to be unhappy with you. " he said almost sounding confused before earning a glare from Asriel who used his hand to make a cut in the air, indicating he could cut off that line of conversation .

"An underling with ...inspiration? Trying to get on her good side? I guess. I am one of her pet metas Ree Luz, I have high hopes that one day I will reach the position of window washer if pesky robots don't take that over yet. Ahh" earning a even darker glare from the second in command as he adjusted the phone and his grip and didn't look. "Anyways " he turned serious "Why don't you tell me why you gave us the phone number on where to call you? Seems you wish to get in contact with us he said mildly.

"I suppose you're right, my so-called friends did cause a lot of problems by attacking your base. Again, my apologies for that. I'd been a little busy with some personal matters and well, it seems the worst always happens when you turn your back for a second."

Zaku was unsettled by the use of the word pet. It was a word that he hated, but let it go for now. He then busted out into a hardy laugh at Ree's comment about window washing and robots, "Ahhh, a sense of humor.. That's pretty refreshing to be honest."

He then paused for a bit, then his voice became calm, more direct but still somehow soft and inviting. "Us? I gave the number to Mara. As such, I had hoped to speak to her. Not that this conversation isn't entertaining in its own way, I just wanted that understanding that I had wanted to contact Mara directly. That's all."

Ree closed his eyes reaching out to grab the pen and twirled it with his fingers. Zaku didn't bite at the mild sting of the word pet, but he did wish to clarify that he wanted to talk to Mara directly. He could go around this multiple ways but which one would give the best pay out....angering him didn't seem like the way to go but he could still p***k at him now and then.

"Hmph, you seem to be the only one who thinks so " he said looking up quickly at Arstrel but he was looking at a computer screen instead. "Think of it this way. I am going to likely be your only connection with Mara unless you want to come here and have a nice face to face chat, preferably without your so-called friends and in a stylish collar we provide." He sounded faintly amused as he said it. . " She isn't intrested in listening to you over the phone and truthfully no one here is, other than me. So if you have something you wish to say to her, I can pass it on or maybe even answer it myself. Otherwise we can talk about the weather until one of us drops dead from boredom ..." he said tiredly, looking toward the second in command, watching him closely as he worked and the way he glared when he said the last part.

Zaku was quiet for a moment, as he sat down in a chair. When he began to talk again, his voice was not as bubbly before, it was still soft but laced with a hint of coldness. "So let me get this all straight.. First you capture my second in command, then come and attack me before I'm even released from a hospital where is been in a coma for years... I even apologize when my team goes to retrieve what you took from us which I remind you wasn't an order I gave.. And now when I try to have a little conversation with Mara, I'm told the only way I can do that is to wear one of your damned slave collars." his voice was full of agitation. "Maybe I'm wasting my time trying to reach out to Mara then..." he was ready to hang up, he was annoyed by it all and had better things to do than have his kindness stomped all over by someone he didn't know. Her whole corporation was a pain in his neck and he was beginning to regret scolding Michael or Lucian for attacking them in the first place.

"Zaku" he said quietly, trying to recapture his attention before he hanged up. Asriel turned with a geasture of needing more time even so they weren't really getting any were, the call was being sent through so many proxies that he wondered why they tried..the military had the same thing and knew.

"It is unfair" he agreed but continued. "But the humans have been suffering your attacks for years...dying because of them. They are reluctant to reach out when you finally want to talk..other than to try and find where you are. Not...that they are getting anywhere."

"Damn it Ree! "

"Mara has her reasons for not wanting to listen to you. Side-line casualty reasons, nothing that would be fix with an I'm sorry. " he said quietly his voice not changing as he got up out of the chair and put the desk between them with a warning look.

" I also understand humans are a warmongering species and non-humans and especially metas have suffered very heavily under their hands. However, after having to hold up three levels of a hospital for nearly two hours while still recovering from injures given to me by your second in command... I don't really know who is worse. " Nightmares from both events still wake him up at night.

"They were evacuating children Zaku, the child and maternity ward were on the floor above. They evacuated the sick, the helpless..so helpless they couldn't get out of bed. Their cries were heartwrenching, it didn't even matter what species or age they were. The one who risk their lives to go up those stairs over and over? likely even saved the supporters who took care of you and hid you from the law these past 7 years. " there was a pause as he extended and folded his wings again trying to regain some composure.

" On the other hand we were trying to capture you, had we known you were in coma sooner we would have come long before. In exchange you tore down a hospital with enemies and allies alike inside. " his voice sounded pained as he switched the phone to his other hand.

"Anyways " he tried to brush it off. "I am Mara Gold's adopted son, I don't wear a collar, Woop de do." He said quietly, his hand brushing his own neck before lowering and glaring at Asirel who was just looking thoughtful. "If you have a message for her I will pass it. If it is about turning yourself in or transferring information she might actually call and meet with you. If it is just to apologize or threaten I can pass it over to her second in command who looks like he wants to eat me. All in all there have not been any casualties since you've woken up .. Yet. "//not even Andy...and her husband was before you woke up supposedly.//

Zaku paused as Ree said his name, despite being irritated by the situation, he still wanted to try to talk or at least reach some kind of understanding even if it was that they simply didn't see eye to eye. He listened, sympathy, empathy, reasoning, he was all too familiar with this kind of tactics. Though, there was merit to what he was saying. There was a demolished hospital because of the events that had happened that day. Not only that, it was a renegade member who was in fact responsible for the damages. "Since I cannot talk to Mara directly, then I will talk to you. But you better listen good because I'm not going to repeat myself." his tone was low and serious. This was the true Zaku, the man who was leading a revolution. "This is a message to you. To mara and SIU. To all of humankind." he paused for only a moment. "This is the same message I will giving the renegade as well."

Zaku straightened in his chair, "First off, let's get a few things straight. What happened at the hospital was not only unintentional but it was the responsibility of the renegade to not be so reckless. It was a miracle that no one was killed, and I am absolutely grateful to SIU for their part in rescuing the injured within. I do not and will not blame them for their part in this. I may have been an absentee in the most recent events which escalated this war, but this was not the vision I had when I created the renegades. We wanted justice, not war. Though, everyone is free to take whatever interpretation of my words as they see fit. I do not control them. I only speak of my dreams and people follow in hopes of achieving the same dreams for themselves. We are not above fighting for what we feel is right, and yes, those methods can easily become violent. I will not deny that. But to blame me for the actions of the whole is absolutely absurd. However, I don't blame anyone for doing so." he sighed. "Personally, I wouldn't mind obliging to your request to come to you and talk. Even wear your stupid collar. If it could only prove that just because the renegade can get violent in the face of attackers, we are not monsters. We never were. We just wanted to be heard. However, we both know for SIU to capture me would start a war neither of us could control. So this will just have to do for now." Zaku leaned back in his chair, and waited. Cordelia looked to him and nodded, holding up a signal and Zaku returned the nod. It was almost time.

Idealist. Martyr. Coward.

Ree said nothing but listened as he sat down again, all three wings flaring out of the way as he leaned back eyes narrowed and stared forward blankly. There was nothing he could say that would not drag this out into a battle of ideology, as what happened with the leader of spectrum. At least with Zaku it was to be expected but he had not been prepared for it with Mira.

"Then you want to parley?"

Ree responded calmly and serious as he glanced to the second in commander who had frozen. He didn't have the power to make it happen..he didn't even have the power to walk out of here and order an ice cream cone if people wanted to look closely at the laws. In all views he should be falling under his sway and joining Zaku to gain those things...supposedly. He had no power but he could cast the first stone and see if both sides will take to it.

"..a.... parley?.." he repeated. He hadn't expect that one bit.

Cordelia was waving her hands violently, mouthing the word no very distinctively.

Zaku hesitated. This was something he desired, a talk, an eventual truce. But was that even possible anymore. This highly likely would be a trap, it's also not like they could stop something from happening to him, and he sure as heck didn't have rights as a meta to be protected by any form of parley. He thought for a while.

Cordelia whispered, "what are you doing?!" as she made a signal to cut ties, he need to hang up right now.

Zaku was definitely put in a bind, unsure of what to say. "...I'll.... think about it." he spoke softly.

"What?!?!?!" she couldn't help but say aloud then covered her mouth suddenly. She then whispered. "they are going to trace us, hang up the damn phone!"

"..I'll stay in touch." he said shortly, paused then hung up the phone. He let out a sigh as he didn't even bother to look up at Cordelia. "Tell them to pack, we have to go." he then stood and walked out of the room.

"Then hope to hear from you soon" Ree said quietly until Zaku hang and glanced at Arisel who tore the phone from his hand.

"You had absolutely not right to offer that! " he growled moving up toward the meta and stopped before he lifted the foot and thought better of it while Ree just looked at him coldly.

"No, I didn't but if he agrees then you can go and ask around and pass it on as your idea..if he doesn't them no no harm or foul. If I am done ..." He said getting up looking down at Arisel.

Arisel glared at him and for a second he didn't feel like he was in control of this situation any more. " one last thing. " mostly to make himself feel in control again. "Interrogate the new prisoner. Congrats you got a promotion from intern to interrogator "

"What?! ...I have no Idea how to do that! That's not a promotion that is two completely different fields! " he fluffed his wings looking again like normal.

"Have fun. Now get out " he frowned, now he had to make a lot of phone calls but .....s**t.

Ree glared at him and finally turned away and headed out.

"You pick the address. Neutral grounds. [Date and Time]

Mara. Two accompanied. No guns. No one else.

I will comply to the same rules.

30 Minutes.

If there is any sign of betrayal, the war will begin.

We obviously do not want that.

[Phone Number]

Text the address and it will be set."

Mara held the letter between her index in thumb as she re-read it for a 4th time that day. The trace had worked but they came only to find an empty building with only this letter left in plane sight. Arisel was furious wanting her to punish Ree because he warned Zaku on what they were doing ...on the other hand Ree got Zaku to agree to a Parley. Something that wouldn't have passed her mind because she really did not like them... did not want to see them unpunished.

".... what do you think you can say to me that will change anything Zaku?" she muttered as she folded up the paper and leaned back against the pillows behind her tiredly. Recovering her energy and taking care of herself was the first thing she was trying to do since she came back. She could almost move now without trembling. She should be ready in two weeks... but during that time she needed to meet with the others and see what they thought about it before she sent any word. Betrayal heh...that is the first thing that will pass their mind... no one would actually think of honoring it ...... okay not true.. she could think of a few who would.

But giving in to anything, what was basically a killer would stick in a few of their throats. No ...if he didn't ask for her specifically her superior would have taken over. Leading a parley was not something she was good at ...at least not with -them-. Might as well get it over with and shake the hornet's nest.
