Armitage walked through the forest. His ears moved as he listened to his surroundings. He wondered what was around him. It seemed like it was just a forest though he could pick up on the sounds of things around him a lot easier than most. He listened for any signs that someone who would do him harm would be around. He heard the small voice from being him.
'Idiot... are you really going to wander aimlessly around?! Why don't we just go back to that lovely tea and Meat Pies girl! I ACTUALLY liked her! Also her sister! You said you were going to visit them!!' Growled the plant he carried with him always.
He sighed as he listened to the ramblings of Seymore. It seemed he was hungry again. Seymore was naturally a bit snarky and sarcastic but when he was hungry he was also quite the drama queen.
"You only liked them because they fawned all over you!" He knew he was right but it did the trick in silencing his companion.
He stood where he was as a strange smell drifted to him. It was the scent of another but he couldn't quite pinpoint where they were. It was times like these that he wanted the use of his eyesight more than anything. Slowly he waited and listened to see what or who was around. He wouldn't roll over and play dead but he didn't mind waiting to see if they were friend or foe first. He didn't relish the fight as much as others did.
"Whoever or whatever you are... I do know you are there... feel free to walk amongst us if you be a friend...." he left of the part that would follow.
Hopefully this would give whoever it was enough encouragement to not linger just out of the reach of his hearing. It was heightened but it wasn't completely accurate all of the time. He waited knowing that Seymore would let him know if he should fight or run based upon the other who would be approaching. They relied on each other and that worked well for both of them. Seymore was his eyes and Armitage was Seymore's carrier and life-force. It was a relationship they had long since forgotten the beginnings of. He could not recall those memories anymore. He always wished that he had, but as of now he still couldn't.

Hesitation nestled itself into Akilah’s stomach as she continued to use the shadow of the forest as a blanket of comfort. She did not know the area very well, so it soon became a face smacking mistake to even enter the forest when she finally admitted that she was lost. Her situation soon became worse when she realized that flying her way out of the forest was not an option, at all. The trees stood too close together like bars in a man-made trap. And the canopy above, no, there was no way she could break her way through the branches unless she wanted to risk hurting herself. The mare hated to admit it. HATED IT. But she should have stayed by a certain Hippo-angeni’s side, no matter how aggravating he may be. Just oh so aggravating with the way he flaunted himself around with his snow kissed fur painted with the shine of the stares. So aggravating with the way he smirked and flirted with any mare he considered “beautiful”. Tch, they were all as disgusting and tainted as he was, the ways in which they flirted back and threw themselves at him with ease. Disgusting…
Maybe if she just tolerated his attitude a bit more she would not be in such a situation. Trapped in a forest she knew nothing about, and with strangers heading in her direction…
‘Just my luck.’ She thought to herself with a sigh.
Maybe she should just risk breaking something and attempt to fly her way out.
From her place in the shadows she could easily see the outline of the figure. Another soq, with…a growth? Was there a growth on his flank? How odd, but them again she had crystals growing out of her, so she should not talk. “I’ll show myself,” Akilah started, hesitance apparent in her voice. It is either talk or potentially be attacked, so… “But you must promise not to bring harm, alright? I don’t want nor need any trouble at this time.” Slowly, the mare left the safety of her blanket. She took a few steps, only enough so that the strangers could get a good luck at her. But, to her surprise there was only one standing in the open. Odd, she could have sworn there were two voices. And yes, the stranger did have a growth on his flank. Even odder…
‘…I should have stayed home’

Armitage turned his head at the sound of her voice. He was able to then follow her footfalls in order to track her movements. His ears twitched and moved slightly as he listened. Seymore thankfully stayed quiet. From the sounds of the voice and the way she moved he assumed her to be a female. He waited till her footfalls stopped and he could tell she wasn't far from him. It was then that he turned his body so that he faced her, but not cutting off Seymore's view of her. It was then that he heard the familiar flutter of wings, and a little bit of buzzing. It seemed that Seymore's Fly companion was back and the Bee that he had recently befriended. He was never sure why or how the insects followed them but they had. It was something he had accepted long ago.
"I presume then you are presenting yourself as a friend then? If you are in fact coming as a friend then we will not bring any danger to you..." He was relieved to hear that she didn't want the fight either. That was much better in his opinion anyways. What good was it to fight when you could solve any quarrel or problem with a simple conversation. There was something that just seemed to settle on the outskirts of his memory but as he tried to figure it out the familiar pain formed in his head and he stopped trying. Besides it was better to focus on the mare in front of him. "I am Armitage and this...." He shifted his flank slightly to signify he meant Seymore and the two insects. "Is Seymore and his companions.... I do hope we did not frighten you..." He never liked scaring people or freaking them out, but lets face it when you are a walking house for a plant who is as snarky and hard to deal with as Seymore, it was bound to happen. He smiled naturally at the thought. Thankfully Seymore hadn't learned to read his mind.... yet.

“Yes,” Akilah answered softly, her eyes never falling away from the plant on the stranger’s, Armitage’s, flank. “You may refer to me as a friend, or as much of a friend as you perceive me to be at the moment.”
Akilah would be lying if she said she wasn't a little be frightened by the make up of the stranger before her. His coloration was very interesting, appealing even, but the rest of him? Well she did not know what to make of it. His eyes were concealed from the world for one reason or another. Whatever the reason may be it was not for her to know unless he felt the need to give that information to her. Then there was that flower, which apparently had a name. Seymore he called it, and apparently Seymore had friends. Interesting... She had to wonder if this Seymore was a living being, or just something, a prop, that Armitage wore to scare off potential threats. So many questions, but she would not bother with finding answers. At least not at the moment.
"It is nice to meet you, Armitage. And no, you are not a fright, at least not what I would call a fright anyway." Her eyes finally moved off Seymore and moved to where the stallions eyes should be. "May name is Akilah, and, well..." She shifted slightly, her tail moving to curl under her and her wings pulling closer to her body. If that wasn't enough, her crystals seemed to shine brighter in her nervousness. "I hate to be a bother, but I seem to be lost in the forest at the moment. Do you, perhaps, know the way out of the area, or are you lost as well? If you don't mind me asking that is."
