The text from Autumn with a picture of a beautiful cat was something of a surprise. He had to grin though, and turned the phone towards Mogget, who was happily playing with ‘the toy’. THE TOY – was a long plastic stick with a cord that had a cloth toy at the end (leopard print) and a bunch of leather tassels. Ever since Mogget had discovered it, it became something of a security blanket and favorite toy. If you weren’t careful, you might find yourself talking a ‘walk’ with Mogget holding the toy end, tail held high and proud as you held the plastic rod and were lead to wherever he wanted you to go, or in reverse, Mogget pulling hard on the toy end, ears back, toes spread for leverage to try and keep you from leaving. “Hey Mog, want to see if you like Autumn’s new friend? “ he offered. Ears flicked and the cat half sat up, mouth full of leopard print. Zac Laughed, and took it as a ‘yes’. He texted back suggesting a time, and a purpose and promising to bring Mogget AND his toy. Before packing up a few catnip sacks and a small bag of ‘freeze dried chicken and freeze dried duck’ – the first one Mogget wouldn’t eat, because it was chicken, the second that Mogget would nibble fingers to get all of it from you. But there was an off chance that a certain new comer might be slightly more ‘sane’ on the cat scale and enjoy the crunchy bits. He texted again just to be sure it was safe to still head over and, tucking Mogget in his shird and the toy over his shoulder, he headed out to meet Autumn.

When Zac arrived and knocked on the door, Autumn threw it open dramatically, posing in welcome to her first ever house guest.
"Hello darling, and welcome!" She enthused, arms up as she gestured to the tiny apartment. Around her neck was a beautiful, high quality white fur- which poked its head up and meowed its displeasure at being startled. Autumn ushered Zac inside, laughing at Rosalinde's displeasure with being an accessory.
"Zac, Mogget, good to see you again! This here is Rosalinde," Autumn pet the white cat, who closed her eyes in a blink of greeting, then gracefully leapt from Autumn's shoulders to the floor. Her tail twitched in interest at the new houseguests, eyes peering up at Zac curiously.
"Don't mind the flowers everywhere. They're, um. That's where Rosalinde sits," She continued, ducking into the openly-connected kitchen to grab water or something.
"Did I mention? I think she's magic. She like, can totally hone in on how to get to the Otherworld. Also, she grows flowers. Like everywhere." Autumn paused, frowning.
"...The kittens do the same, but they're kinda little shits. Loveable, but little shits. Coincidentally, know anybody who wants a kitten or two?"

Zac’s eyebrows nearly met his hairline at the idea that the cat was… other. He wasn’t so much surprised that Autumn, of all the people he’d seen there in the other side, had found it. But … it was here, on this side of things, not unlike Sunny. Also it was a beautiful cat. Actually, it was pretty clear that Mogget was enchanted too , for a feline, he had a look on his face like all the moment needed was a slow action sequence in a summer field, streaming sunlight, and some…kitten cherubs casting rose petals. “Purrrum?” Mogget intoned, staring with wide golden eyes, before turning and swatting madly till he grasped the plush end of his toy and turning bac towards Rosalinde with another “Prrrrp?” sound. Zac laughed. “Well… I think he’s ok with meeting new friends. I…think that was an offer to play with him and the stick toy.” Her last question though…well… “Actually… I think I might.” He confirmed. “You know Detective Mercer? And um… Alg at the Bookstore? Bilbliophile?”

"Detective Mercer! Yeah, I know the chief! Not the other guy, though." She'd just been to give the guy tea, actually. Small world! If she'd known he was in need of some kitten-loving, Autumn would've gladly taken one of the little devils over to him. Not that she didn't love the little babies, but four cats were a bit much for her to handle. Particularly on her two-job budget. He was kinda gruff and grumpy, but maybe a cat would do him some good.
Rosalinde blinked several times at Mogget, cocking her head to the side and regarding him. She took several cautious steps forward, scoping the other cat out... then raised a paw to bat at the toy in his mouth. Once, very cautious and carefully, then again in a more playful manner. Her elegant tail was flittering, and Autumn mentally sighed in relief. At the very least, it seemed like they liked each other? So no kitty claws would be coming out in anger.
"Would you uh, let the book guy know? They're sweet as can be, really cute too. I just can't take care of all of 'em on my budget."

“No yeah, I absolutely will. They are…great cat-dads really. Jer is huge on making his own cat food, I think he or I could both teach you to do it pretty cheep too so…”
Zac watched the two cats for a moment while the two cats faced each other, and then the play began. He took the plastic rod for the toy and offred it to Autumn with a grin.
“I can text them now if you want, kitten delivery too unless you’d like to do it yourself for that nice personal touch.” He offered with a smile. “and I brought catnip too… the one rule is that Mogget won’t leave this stick behind, he HAS broken into closed rooms by very odd means to get it back.” He warned with a grin.

Autumn took the toy, and began to dangle it for the two cats. She couldn't help but laugh as they dove excitedly for the toy, turning into... well, kittens, she supposed. Considering her unusual origins, Autumn had no idea how old Rosalinde was. Maybe a vet could figure that out, next time Autumn went to town.
"Would you mind? That'd be great." That was one thing off of her plate, at least. Well, no. Two little things. Two cats seemed a considerably more manageable than an apartment full of them.
"I mean, if you give me the other guy's address, I wouldn't mind dropping them off!" She replied cheerily, thinking about her little picnic basket once more. It was the easiest way to transport kittens around, after all. And it was adorable!
"You know," Autumn scratched her chin, "I haven't given Rosalinde catnip yet..."

“I don’t mind at all!” He said. “here…I can write the recipe too as best I remember, but when you drop off a kitten with Jeremiah, you might ask him to confirm it too!” He said as he quickly made a text for the cat food and how to including times and proportions as best he remembered it, before fishing for catnip in his back and finding the cat treats he’d almost forgotten too. “OH! here! This is…well this light one is freeze dried chicken, which is kinda pricy but…its a good treat? And the darker is um…” he glanced at Mogget. “A water bird I know you’re fond of…and he is too, I thought you could use some tasty treats and he will NOT eat the chicken.” He said and rolled his eyes. “But I thought she might!” He added hastily, so she wouldn’t think he was just dumping it on her. He held up the cat n** sack triumphantly, it was simple brown fabric that read ‘Kitty Can’t Cope’ “Best cat n**, I don’t know why but… the cats seem to notice the difference, if you want to do the honors? “ Quote: yes, kitty can’t cope is a real thing

"Yeah, he was telling me a bit about it. I'll get him to write it down for me when I go," She agreed, pleased with how the night was turning out so far. Autumn hadn't really expected to hit it off with so many people, let alone invite them to her apartment. This was a really pleasant surprise, even if it'd come about in the weirdest ******** way possible. She brightened up at the treats and took some, nodding.
"Thanks so much! Nah, I get you. No sense in wasting money, I feel that. You don't have to worry about offending me," Autumn soothed, pleased with the amount of treats she had for Rosalinde. She wasn't going to SPOIL the cat exactly, but... well. Autumn took care of her own. Particularly when her own were ******** adorable cats.
"Alright, alright, I'll try. Do I just... toss it out for them?" Autumn took the bag, popped it open, and winced at the smell. Well... if Rosalinde enjoyed it...
Not needing telling twice, she tossed some of the drug out to the cats. Rosalinde, dear heart, reacted immediately. Her pupils dilated, and she flopped to the floor, taking some of the catnip in her paws. Immediately, she purred like a motorboat, sprouting tulips and all sorts of flowers on the floor around her and Mogget.
"...Probably should've seen that coming. s**t."

Mogget’s reaction was…not so dissimilar in that his eyes widened to thin gold rimmed circles of black… he =fell over= on one side and just started purring along with Rosalinde – thankfully, only Rosalinde made thins sprout flowers. Mogget just made star paws gleefully into the air and squirmed back and forth, tail curling and swatting lightly at the flowers. Zac – well… he was going to say something about it was good that Rosalinde wasn’t the kind of kitty to go tearing through the house and ‘redecorating’ with her claws.
Instead he was rather…speechless for a moment to see the actual flower growth in action.
“Huh…” he said quietly.
“… So um… Does DISNEY know about you because….”

"You know, I'm not sure how well my hair would translate in a cartoon," Autumn laughed, but honestly, he was right. Whereas everybody else seemed to be descending further into this grim world of Other Ashdown, Autumn was... finding all of the magical parts of it. Including a flowering cat. She was seriously so damn lucky she didn't have bad pollen allergies, or this could've straight up been a nightmare come true.
"Don't tell me this s**t isn't happening to you. Is it seriously just me?"

“… I… I mean since I came home I don’t think anything odd has happened to me? I mean, nothing I could pin down if it is?” He thought for a moment, shook his head and pushed it aside. Nothing he could think of could really match this level of strange.
“… I’d definitely say you have a way with uh… animals though.” He gave a soft laugh though it wasn’t intended to be mean spirited at all. “I mean, you’re doing better than J.. Than Detective Mercer.” He offered with a sort of half hopeful mention.
“… I wonder, I mean, you’re good people, like… I think that shows, I hope that makes a difference with other Ashdown. I mean, I think Detective Mercer is too but everyone has a history right? And I’m not exactly the coolest either so… I hope this is as odd as it gets for you.” He said earnestly.
He gave a small helpless shrug.
“Here…” he said and offered her a small bag of the catfood that got made for Mogget. “It’s not a lot but… you can see if she likes it before you worry about making sure the recipe is alright. And uh…any time you want a play date for cats, I’m down… So is Mogget I think.” He smiled.

"I don't know. Sometimes if I think, I get this like... feeling. Like there's something here that I can kinda sense? But then it'll blip away, like it was never here. I dunno, I might be overthinking this s**t." It was very possible. Autumn had put a LOT of thought into the Otherworld since her return, and her role in all of this nonsense. If she was overimagining things... well, it was a strong possibility anyway.
"Man, I love animals. They're so good and honest, you know? People can lie, and cheat. Animals? Animals are just trying to live." She leaned over to gently pet Rosalinde, who purred even harder and thus sprung up more flowers. She was gonna have to make bouquets for the neighbors or something, what with how happy Rosalinde was tonight. Plus, that catnip probably wasn't wearing off any time soon.
Note to self: Do NOT let the kittens get into the Catnip.
"You're a sweet kid, Zac. Thanks for coming over here tonight, and all the cat help." She giggled a bit.
"Maybe we could make this a regular thing, you know? But next time, I'll get us some wine and they can have the catnip."

“Sounds good.” he grinned. “Maybe I’ll swap wide for… a soda but…I like that Idea, I think it could be good for them.” he grinned. Rubbing the back of his neck he was thoughtful for a moment.
“Well.. I guess there is one thing to be said for freaky-other-towns and all things associated with it, um… thats that…I got to meet you and some other cool people, and you got um… you got flower-kitty to further establish your roll as Disney Princess.” he gained.
“…same time next week?” He offered.
