Barter and Haggle Prompt 2
Can be used toward Solo or RP req
Lately, the local market places have been filled with new traders offering their wares. It seem as if many across the land are trying their hand at selling clothing, weapons, and trinkets. With so many new faces, now is the best time to go to the market and barter for the best prices.
So go ahead and grab your goods or grab your gold and take a shot at bartering.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the merchant, or can be looking to purchase an item. Groups can RP with both characters on the same side, or trying to barter with each other.

Gyuri wasn't a man that often times went shopping on his own, and for good reason, he wasn't exactly a talkative sort. Not to mention that on the outside, for those that didn't know him, he looked quite intimidating. He was a tall, muscular man, one that stood a head taller then most of those in the troupe, and then add in the fact that he was so quiet... it tended to give him a bit of a reputation. First impressions tended to work against the poor guy... not that he was thinking about such things at the moment, instead he found himself starring at some goods that were laid out before a merchant for his perusal. A lot of interesting things that he had been told as he arrived at the book were from all all over. Things from 'all over' meant that there might very well be interesting things for him to buy for all of those in the troupe, right?
Giving a thoughtful sound he leaned in, inspecting each thing in a very careful manner, while thinking about each member of the troupe. Who could use was became the question, as well as who would appreciate what the most as a presently. After a moment he spotted some really nice quills, those that looked nice and flashy, made what what he guessed were kinfa feathers. He wondered if he should get a couple of those for Sin'qua? She had seemed to be taking a liking to writing of late, spending a lot of time locked up in her room doing just that. So the quills could be quite useful for her.
"Those were handmade by a craftsman in Tale, made from genuine kinfa feathers, all of the colors are natural as well, none of them were dyed." The man before him spoke up, getting a glance and a nod from Gyuri before the big man pick up two of them, deciding on a bright blue one and a deep red one as presents for Sin'qua.
From there he continued on in his search. Let's see what might Makani want? The sage could be quite difficult to figure out at times since he couldn't just pick out things that looked pretty for him, nor could he just fall back on finding him something like a magical tome, he took a lot of thought when it came to what he might like. Things that felt interesting, smelled interesting, that was what he had to take into consideration instead of just looking for something that looked nice. As he was thinking this he found something that might work. Incense? They might work, one could burn them to fill an area with a nice scent, and given that he had access to magic Makani would be able to light them easily enough, right? He would be able to enjoy the nice scent of them while he was practicing his magic or just while he was relaxing.
The merchant looked up at Gyuri, squirming slightly, before he said, "Those were made in Oba. They smell like a flower that grows only around the oasis that can be found in the deserts of Oba." He said helpfully, merely getting another nod from Gyuri as the man picked up a small box of them, deciding that they would work as a gift for Makani.
Now, for Eira and Callistos he thought to himself, feeling that they were the opposite of Makani. It was nice to get something pretty for Eira, a piece of jewelry or the like, while doing the same for Callistos. Given his age and how attached he was to his mother he seemed to rather enjoy getting too wear things that matched those that Eira wore. To be like his mother was something that made the boy happy, so maybe some matching necklaces? He found himself seeking that out, pausing when he found the jewelry section of the merchants stocks, going through each piece carefully, until he found two that were alike enough that Li would be content. Not only were they pretty but the way they were made they jingled slightly when shaken, something that would work out well for a veteran dancer and a dancer in training alike.
"Y-You have good tastes sir... those were made by a man in Mez, which is North of here..." The merchant said, seeming as though the fact that Gyuri was studying everything but saying nothing was starting to unnerve him.
Now, about Borra...? He wanted to find something nice for him, something that might be able to win him over. Actually he wanted to get him all manner of presents, flowers, sweets, anything and everything that might show Borra how much Gyuri cared for him since words always failed him. Giving a bit of a sigh he continued his search, finding a half dozen things that Borra might like. A nice hair pin that could hold back his hair while he played his lute, a box of sweets that were made of honey, a lute pick that seemed as though it were made of some sort of bone from the feel of it, a journal he could write down new song ideas in, a choker necklace that would just look nice around Borra's slender throat, and finally, some flowers. Yes, he needed all of those!
Turning his attention to the merchant who was starring at him he set all of the things before him that he'd gathered during his time with the man and instantly the merchant set to looking everything over before he said, "G-Good choices, sir! Since you are buying so many things at once how about I offer you a deal?" Perhaps an attempt on his part to put Gyuri into a good mood?
After quoting the price Gyuri gave a nod of his head, digging out the payment that the merchant had asked for while the man packed everything up. Once everything was carefully packed up he tucked it all away in his pack and said, "Thank you." The only words spoken during his entire time at the merchant's booth, before he was walking away, leaving the merchant to sigh in relief.
