Tetra Tech is one of the few companies that are run by humans (they still employ androids and robots too and treat them well) that make androids and robots, as well as other electronic devices. Though their work isn't limited to that, they also are mechanics and programmers around to repair broken tech. Jonah is one of the employees that basically lives here, but there are many others.
Jonah refused to ride on the same bike as Jiji because that would mean going back to Cleka and retrieving his own. Which would allow Kreis to hold that for ransom if that man was crafty enough. Well it didn't matter because he won that fight. Somehow. He also somehow got back in one piece, which was another miracle on its own because he was more tired than he was before. Though, for someone as sleep depraved as he was, he actually drove fairly well with only one or two honks at him. In fact it was amazing that he was still alive. Well, that was for another time.
With a yawn, Jonah pushed open the front doors and slowly made his way over to his work space that also doubled as a makeshift bed. He had an apartment but for the most part he stayed and slept here despite his coworker's demands. At some point he became part of the security system because of that. Mainly because he had no hobbies other than his job, which kept him active enough.
Once he finally made his way over there he nudged some things aside and unzipped the top half of his coveralls, tying it around his waist because it was warmer here than at the club. Satisfied with the space he immediately flopped down and went to sleep, though he would be up again in thirty minuets or so. Or if someone were to bother him.
Jin had to follow Jonah closely, while at the same time keeping a safe distance. If he went down she was, by no means necessary, going to go down with him. They were probably best friends in the eyes of most of their coworkers, but there was a high chance that neither one would take a bullet for one another. Jin already had a hard enough time trying to get him to sleep, she didn't need to get in a wreck because of him. When they got back, she let Jonah flop down and sleep while she tapped away at the programming on her computer. Even when in the computer trance that programming was, she still didn't shut up, grumbling to herself every now and then and shifting positions.
Then, as if someone throw a boulder into a still pond, Jonah's phone went off, shattering her concentration. It'd been about 30 minutes. Jonah was going to wake up anyway. First things first, she wanted to send a picture of Jonah while he still looked cute to Cheese dude, just to sweeten whatever weirdo fondue pot they were dealing with here. So she walked over and got a good angle, snapping a couple pics of sleeping Jojo for Ty. Then she stored her phone and grabbed something relatively soft and hitting him repeatedly with it. "Hey, Jojo, Get the hell up! Your phone is buzzing! It's Ty! I'm gonna tell him you want a d**k pic from him!" She yelled, gently beating Jonah with the item she grabbed.
Jonah had been falling in and out of sleep the entire time. This was pretty normal on its own, but now he had been texting some one that Jiji had given his number too. Also pretty normal. She claimed that she was doing it for his own good and to get more friends. Ha! Like that was happening. The way he texted left a completely different impression, plus he always tried to scare the other person off anyway. But this guy stilled texted back for whatever reason.
After sending the last text he went back to sleep, not entirely certain what it was that he sent or what he saw. It didn't feel like to long after that he felt Jiji whacking him with something. With a groan he swatted her away followed by several curses. "He already did, it was one of his friend who stole his drink.Maybe I should send one back of you." He grumbled, reaching for his phone to see what was sent now.

Looking back at the texts he was amazed that he did fairly well on responding back to the guy. Until now. "Just know my phone constantly buzzing is all on you. It's what you get for giving my phone number out." He yawed, half tempted to find an annoying ring tone to go along with these. Well, he'd probably piss himself off by doing that.
Now that he was more awake than he was before he figured he should start working on something or the other. Pushing a bunch of stuff aside, he crawled up to his seat and put his phone on his desk before he went to work on programming.
"Whatever!" Jin spat, peering over Jonah to look at his phone. What were they even texting about? How did two people who have literally never met text this frequently. Jonah was more adorable in texts with his surplus of emojis, but really, he wasn't that great. God, she felt bad for when cheese man was gonna meet him in person. "What are you sending him this time? Is it more lies to try and scare him off? Please don't tell me you're gonna talk him into reading that story," She said. This wasn't the first time she'd done this. Goatman seemed to be a staple in weirding people out. Most of the time it worked, too.
If he was going to try and turn the number thing on her, he was going to love when Kries realized that he now had Jonah's number. Jin was pretty sure Kries was getting really high right now and didn't realize the power he held in his hands. She hoped he bugged Jonah to no end. That's what you get for betraying your savior! When Jonah went back to work, Jin decided it was probably best for her to step in and see what was happening. This was like them becoming friends, right? Or maybe cheese man couldn't take a hint. She had to know. Slowly, Jin crouched down by the desk and started to reach for the phone, trying to make it so Jonah wouldn't notice.
Jonah tacked away at what he was working at, though his attention was divided now that he was talking to someone and Jiji was bothering him. Not like that hindered his work to begin with anyway.Maybe one mess up that he would catch once he went through it again. Or would catch before he got to far along."Shouldn't you know, work? And not snoop?" He asked with a slight smile on his face. It didn't mean anything but Jiji would probably take it how she would. "Also, yes I am. Its hilarious and a great campfire story." He laughed lightly and he continued on working.
While he didn't notice what Jin was doing, the phone started to vibrate against the desk. Before it made any more noise he picked it up with one hand as it vibrated more for the rest of the texts. Once it stopped, he stopped working to look at what was sent.

Once he hit send he looked up at her with a pout that then quickly turned into a more playful frown. "Cause that's not creepy of you at all to do."He was well aware that she did that and even then she wasn't the only one to do it. Other co-workers did as well. It's what he got for sleeping at work, but he really didn't care.

After finishing up the text he set his phone down further away from Jin, keeping it in view incase she tried to take it.
Jin couldn't argue with that logic, she should be working, espcially since she hopped out with the only thing she said to others being 'Jonah ran into technical difficulties.' Neither of them came back with anything to say, either. It was just kind of a 'Tuesday as usual' kind of thing. "I was working, and then you started buzzin' so I had to stop," she reminded Jonah, rolling her eyes at his goat story. "Sure if you want people taking secret headcounts every ten seconds." Really, though, if they were with a group of friends it'd be pretty hard to miss a stranger coming into the mix.
Damn! I've been found out! She exclaimed to herself, drawing he hand back as the phone buzzed. "Do you want it to be some urban legend or something? Kids are gonna start going out into the woods in random groups. There's gonna be goatman hunting reality shows. Is this what you want?" Jin asked, being completely sarcastic. She really couldn't care less about what happens to goatman. May his legend live on through Jonah.
"You know you don't care," Jin scoffed, standing up straight from her position. Looks like she wasn't getting in on the text party yet. Thought she did want to know his reaction to those pics. For a moment there was silence before she said "alright I'll get outta your hair for now." With that she went back to her station, giving the programming a rest to tinker with some of the new muscle structures that were in development.
"Could have ignored it. I would have woken up at some point to deal with it." Jonah laughed, waving her off. Granted this was her fault for giving Tyrone his number to begin with. While he had nothing against the dude, he was curious to why he was this interested in talking to someone over text.Like he just trusted Jiji with the number and called it good, with little proof. At least until she sent the sleeping pictures. Still, though. "Personally I think a goat that reeks of sulfur is the least of our concerns." Besides, the goat didn't sound like it harmed anyone. Just kinda stood there and spooked everyone out. At least from that particular story. It wasn't like he looked to far into they goatman folklore asides from the one story.
Hearing his phone buzz once more, he picked up from the desk and waited for it to stop before setting it down once more."Haha, no, but that would be awesome dude." He laughed, turning to face Jiji. "Like could you imagine the news reporting this being a new thing with the 'youth' as something trendy. But no, I just enjoy seeing how people react to it." he grinned, picking up his phone once more to read the texts and respond.

Jonah snorted and turned back to his computer to continue working. "I really don't, but you're still a creeper regardless how I feel about it." He joked, reviewing what it is he had up. Once he was done he closed out of it for now and put his phone in one of the many pockets. In all honesty he was distracted by both Jiji and Tyrone, in general he didn't feel like working. Getting up from his seat, he moved over to where she was and leaned on her. "Jiji, on a scale to 50 to 100, how attractive would you rate me. I'd say from one to ten but clearly my looks fall way out of line on that if a lot people find me attractive. " He was mainly kidding about that because he wasn't that conceeded. But still, this wasn't a new thing, or rather not the first time a bunch of people mentioned his looks. Granted he didn't look at dead as he did now. But hey, that didn't stop fish face.
Jin could roll her eyes so far back and watch the cells in her brain die from Jonahs weirdly genuine, but also not genuine, enthusiasm about Goatman. She honestly couldn't tell, and it was creeping her out more than anything else. Like Jonah was planning on getting the hobby of dressing up as goatman and spraying himself with sulfur perfume just to scare the s**t outta people for fun. She was pretty sure people did that, especially at this one urban legend area where like there were no trees growing in this circle? "I don't like the way you said that," she said, hoping that was enough of a hint."What if freaky cheese man isn't scared?"she asked. "What if he like" she made a jacking off motion with her hand, and let that punctuate the sentence. He seemed weird enough to to that.
Back at her desk, Jin was barely getting into work again. "Only to you!" She called. There was silence for a while, something which the amount people that were left here after 5pm probably appreciated. While she stared at the screen, Jonah came over to chat again. She listened to what he had to say, staring at him, fighting the urge to yell at him and ask what kind of question that was. Instead she grabbed his t-shirt and lifted it up, examining it like she would the muscles of the arm she'd been working on. "Hmmmmmmm 80! You've got a nice body for someone who never sleeps! If you didn't have those 'coon eyes then you'd be up to a 90 probably. It kind gives you that like, devious 21 year old look? Like I could totally see you in a leather jacket with a metal baseball bat smashing people's mailbox." She poked his stomach and let his shirt go. Jin may also have described and experience in her life to him just then. She definitely did, actually, but she'd never admit it. She might have been the biggest punk as a teen, as well as the robotics kid.
Jonah covered his face as Jin did that motion with her hand. Grooossss. Whyyyy."I really hope not. That would get weird really fast. But remember he's your friend too." he whined from behind his gloves. There was no way he could even begin to think the reasons on why someone would be that into it. Like come on now, don't do that. The story is supposed to be creepy not erotic.
He frowned at Jin as she lifted his shirt up, "s'cuse you, my eye are up here," truthfully, he still didn't really care that she did it. "Jiji, I would die if I couldn't pick up and move the things we have laying around here. Also, that sound like the time you dismantled my screaming robot." He laughed, though she wasn't far off. While that sounded more like something Jin did when she was younger, Jonah had his fair share of no chill. Most of which consisted of purposely shitty robots and a punch of dumb pranks to piss people off. Other than that he wasn't much of a hooligan but still.
He was about to say more when his phone buzzed around in the pocket. Taking it out he read the text and replied.

After he wrote that and once Jiji put his shirt down, he put his arm around her shoulders and took a a selfie with her to show the contrast of an alive person from a near dead person. In the photo he was pointing to her and made a purposely awkward smile before sending it.

"But yeah, the reason I asked is because he thinks i'm adorable." He explained himself a bit. Might as well give her some context as to why he had asked. Even then it was mainly to get more opinions on his looks. Well now that his question was answer he left Jin to go back to work. Though he was tired of programming at the moment.
Jin liked to pretend they weren't friends in order to make more jokes about him being weird and not feel bad about it. Of course, she insulted all her friends, so Tyrone really wasn't a true friend if she didn't call him one weirdo cheesy ******** every now and then. "Uh, do I look like I've been talking to him as much, Sir Texalot?" She questioned.
"Nah, they're right here!" See exclaimed, reaching out and gently pinching both of his pecks. "Honk!" Jin cackled at him, but her fun was cut short when he brought back the memory of the screaming robot. That godawful stupid monstrosity that Jojo just had to bring into this world, and she had to take out. "I didn't dismantle it, I smashed it and set it on fire. And I'll never forgive you for it either! Your stupid shitty robots haunt my nightmares!" To make things worse she had to tear apart their apartment to find it, and just got angrier and angrier as it wailed.
Then the selfie. And Jonah said he wasn't a selfie person. Jin snarled at his phone, making Jonah look like the more normal one in the picture. "Oh, looks like somebody's got a crush already! How'd you manage to charm this weirdo? Send him emojis till he swooned?" She teased, jabbing Jonah in the side with her finger. Then he was gone, and Jin looked back to the arm. She made it gently slap her in the face in quick succession as a testament to it's accuracy and motor control. The best way to test a robot was to feel it in action, and this was the most effective way.
Jonah could have gone back on the topic of that she was the only reason why he had this number to begin with. But decided against it because she would probably win.
When Jin pinched his pecks he swatted at her hands and put his coveralls completely back on. Though he was glad his shitty robots haunted her nightmares. "Good! Because they were my babies that you killed!"He was only slightly bitter that she destroyed them. They had a good run for what they were. Such simple tasks done wrong. At least it made one thing clear, Jonah was a horrible roommate.
At first he didn't respond to her teasing so he could actually bring himself to start working on something. Preferably one of the androids that was put on hold. That was something he wanted to get back to working on again and was told he could if he had nothing better to do. Might as well. Grabbing his gloves and a few tools he started back up with it. In comparison to the other's this one was still in its skeleton stage. "Mmm, i'd like to think it was my great sense of humor and the emojis were a bonus. " He laughed. Then his phone buzzed again. Pulling off a glove he quickly responded back.

Once he was done with that he put the glove back on and went to work once more.
His "babies" he said. "That she killed" he said. They were an affront to nature, and she did them a favor by letting their existence end. Jonah was probably the worst person in college, but he was kind of a perfect outlet for how intense Jin had been as well. She'd definitely calmed down since her young adulthood, if only in actions rather than volume. She still projected half of everything she said, yelled 30% of the time, and spoke normally the rest. Whispers were unheard of in her lexicon. That or it happened so rarely that it wasn't even a number worth mentioning.
"Oh yeah? He must have as weird a sense of humor as you!" She teased, giving him a cheeky grin. Jin wouldn't knock Ty, though, this was the most interested she'd ever seen Jonah in someone else that he hadn't even met. Maybe that was the magic. They didn't meet in person, and so Jonah was able to trick them into thinking he was a likable individual. She made a few minute adjustments, looked at a few papers, and didn't even notice that Jonah had taken a picture of that. She then started having it touch down on a pressure pad, to better test it's accuracy with numbers. Plus they were required to. "What is that thing going to end up being?" She asked, turning to Jonah again and pointing at him with the arm.
Those robots had a very good run and it was a damn shame that Jin didn't share that opinion on them. Just imagine the s**t they could do if they joined forces making simple, yet annoying robots? That list was endless.
One day she would see that potential. That day was just not today.
As Jonah fixed the parts together, he listened to Jin and chuckled at her comment."Hey now, my humor isn't that weird. Most of it is just random s**t that doesn't make sense."To be fair, he hardly ever got any sleep and whatever his mind was running on just went as it pleased. There was just no stopping it once that train left the station. He could say more on the matter but he was more focused on building the android.
Hearing her talk again he looked over at her with a grin."A small project that they are allowing me to work on again. We got some new stuff awhile back that will make this android a tad bit better than the last one. They were kinda worried about it so I didn't push it, but then they decided to let me do what I wanted. Since im- you know," his phone buzzed and he took off his glove as he spoke."The best in the company." He finished with small grin as he read and responded to the text.

He was mostly kidding with Jin about being the best, though. His work was good sure, but there were still others out there who were better. Not to mention he also worked only with what they allowed him to. At most he was maybe top twenty? It was hard to say. Not after a certain incident that took place. They all knew about it and seen the symbols.Quiet frankly Jonah didn't agree with the treatment since humans were the ones who programmed them to be like humans or share that likeness. So why not give them the same?
"Anyway the board wanted them to have a good view point of the world but I argued that wasn't exactly the most chill thing we could do, so instead i'm programming them so they already know whats going on in the world and they can decide what they want from the moment they wake up. Almost like they grew up with it all to begin with, of course they'll still adapt to what they deem fit. Versus the other one we had that was a near clean slate" He said turning back to the skeleton before him, deciding to keep his glove off for now. "Originally they were going to have some philosophical aspects as well but that got too complicated, understandably so of course. Though, im trying to see if I can tweek it around to get some of that."
Jin scoffed at Jonah's interpretation of his own humor. It was one of those things people call an acquired taste when they don't feel like saying it's bad. "Sure it is buddy," she said, dropping the subject off of that. She didn't feel like giving him s**t for something like that. It'd be petty, and honestly was something a little too personality-defining for her to want to make fun of. It's like making fun of someone's laugh. Just rude.
"Best my a**, I'm in the top teir with you, you know!" Jonah was better than her, however. She dealt mostly with the physicality of the androids. Making them function as accurately and optimally as possible, making synthetic skin that would be very close to a humans, but better. She also worked with making synthetic parts for android models, and often offered discount upgrades for older models. Jin listened as he explained the project. It was interesting, to say the least. "I like the idea a lot more than just a blank slate. Like the whole thing always bothered me, you know? Like these perfectly mature people who just knew nothing. That kinda influence is just ******** up, right?" She said, happy to hear that someone was doing something. "I feel like if anyone can work in philosophy into that, it's you. I'm curious to see what's going to happen. Like how many androids reject and accept stuff."
