Prompt
It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.
Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.
How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?

It was one of those very beautiful nights, Ziel had been expecting one all week because it meant her parents would be setting up a bonfire on the beach and watch the stars. Those were always the best nights because Ziel got to listen to the stories from both of her parents. It was like learning about a whole other world out there that she was just itching to get out an explore it. Sometimes others joined them on the beach and had their own tales to tell. So needless to say, the Hybrid was always on the lookout for days where the skies were clear.
“Ziel, go get a few pieces of wood. Don’t go too far.” Z’ran said as he began putting the rocks together to form a circle.
“Yes!” Ziel ran around collecting some of the drift wood that had washed up on the beach. Once she had a small pile he went over to her father and dropped those off before going back and starting to find the larger pieces. Z’ran had taught her how to build a fire, more or less, so she knew that the big pieces were just as important to keep the fire going than the small ones to start it.
Once that was done, Ziel settled down next to her mother in the sand and watched her father build away as the sun began to lose its light. By the time darkness had gone the fire was going and roaring and Ziel was enjoying a snack from her father.
And then the stories began.
Her father was first, recounting his few years as a slave; Ziel couldn’t believe people would do that to another person. Z’ran didn’t share all of his experiences while his daughter was around, but he felt she did need to know Matorian history just as much as Shifter. Ziel was pretty sure she didn’t want to be visiting Oba any time soon. Perhaps a small trip on her way back home when she was out in the world, but otherwise she was far more interested in where Alassiel was from than Oba. There was also some family she wanted to meet too!
When her father finished, Alassiel began her own tales of back home. This is what Ziel was most interested in, that and the large family she had back in Juahar. She’d visited them before, but only for a few days and only when she was younger. It was the first place she planned on going to see and explore; she was also a bit curious about the Alkidikes. Her mother had spoken about the taller tribe woman and Ziel wanted to meet one. They just seemed so cool and had antennas! How cool was that?
It was clear to Ziel though that her mother had a bone to pick with the Alkidikes. She could pick that up in the way she spoke, she didn’t trust them and Ziel wondered way. There was peace now in the land wasn’t there? Ziel didn’t see the need to hold hate towards others; if everything was okay from now on everyone should be able to get along! Of course she knew sometimes things were a little more complicated with adults for some odd reason. Yet she felt It was something that kids understood quite easily.
Where did the change happen?
Her father though was a lot more optimistic, even though he had had some run in with Obans he felt that the past was the past and it ought to be left behind. Ziel took after her father in the case, whatever had happened was behind them now. There was peace, the world was okay and that’s all Ziel really cared about at this point and time. Though she was still just a child, she hoped her opinions wouldn’t change and warp as she got older since she liked the way things were now.
When the moon was up high in the sky and Ziel began to feel tired and sleepy. Her father put out the fire while her mother picked her up into her arms to carry her and they made their way back to their home. Like every night they went out, Ziel was sure to dream of adventures and the day that she would finally be able to go out and see the world with her own two eyes. Because someday when she gathered her kids around close, she would be the one telling the stories and feeding their dreams.
