Prompt
Lately, the local market places have been filled with new traders offering their wares. It seem as if many across the land are trying their hand at selling clothing, weapons, and trinkets. With so many new faces, now is the best time to go to the market and barter for the best prices.
So go ahead and grab your goods or grab your gold and take a shot at bartering.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the merchant, or can be looking to purchase an item. Groups can RP with both characters on the same side, or trying to barter with each other.

“Maaaaaam,” Ziel said as she pushed her mother who was still sleeping. “Maaaaaaaaaaam,” the youngling half tried to climbed into the tall bed.
“Hng,” came the gruff reply as Alassiel turned towards her daughter, picking her up with one arm and dropping her in bed with her. “What’s wrong?” A yawn.
“I want to go to the market, daddy says there are a bunch of new and different merchants and I want to see them.” Alassiel began to close her eyes and Ziel gave her another light shove. “We have to go!”
Sighing, Alassiel finally decided to get out of bed. She grabbed Ziel who started giggling and dropped her down on the ground before going about to get ready to go out. Ziel on the other hand, grabbed her small makeshift sling bag that her father had given her and waited by the door for her mother. It was as patient as she could get, but if Alassiel took too long Ziel was going to go and bother her about it. Usually her mother was good about these things she knew better than to make Ziel wait for anything. The little girl didn’t have the patience for most things.
The walk to the market place was short; Alassiel went to her husband’s stand first.
“Daddy!!!” Ziel ran over to her father who picked her up quickly into her arms.
“You finally got mommy out of bed huh?” He chuckled and gave Alassiel a quick kiss.
“It’s definitely too early to be up, not all the shops are open yet and it’s still pretty empty.”
Z’ran put Ziel gently back down to the ground and gave her a few coins, “Don’t run off too far and stay where we can see you but you can go and buy something you’d like. Don’t spend it all in one place!”
Ziel took the small pouch of money from her father before quickly turning around and going across to the other stand. She was mostly looking for food, it was her favorite thing in the world after the ocean and since she hadn’t eaten anything yet today it was her top priority. Plus, she knew that it meant that her father wanted to have some alone time with her mother before they left. She was okay with that, she didn’t always require attention. Sometimes, especially when she was given this kind of freedom, she liked to enjoy it by herself.
The first merchant she visited had some fried fish on a stick; he bent down and grinned at Ziel. She recognized him as a friend her father knew.
“Hello little one, you’re Z’ran’s daughter aren’t you?”
“Yes I am!” She said proudly with a smile. He took one of the fishes and handed them to her.
“On the house,” he nodded before shooing her off with a chuckle just as a client was approaching his stand. Ziel munched on the fish as she moved from one stand to the other, greeting the merchants and talking a bit with the few who knew her father. They always gave her something to eat and that made Ziel quite content. The Hybrid decided she ought to be doing this more often! She got to taste all sorts of things that she usually didn’t. There was a whole world out there of foods that she’d never seen too and everything tasted good. Ziel decided that she was going to travel and taste all the food she possibly could at some point.
Event the merchants that don’t know her father know well enough tor recognize that she is the daughter of the merchants and hand her a little something. By the time Ziel has finished her rounds with the merchants and returned to her father’s stand, her belly is full and she’s ready for a nap from all the food. She hands her father back his still full pouch and watches as she shakes his head and chuckles.
“You’re just too cute; none of the merchants want to take your money.”
Alassiel picked up Ziel who rested in her arms.
“But daddy it’s good thing, no lost money in that case!”
“For me it is, not for their business.” Z’ran chuckles and shakes Ziel’s short hair.
“I think it’s naptime.” Alassiel says hoisting Ziel up a little more in her arms.
“Alright see you later,” Z’ran kisses Alassiel and watches as Ziel closes her eyes, she is tired from all the food but when she does wake up she’ll want to run around again.
