Kerberos moved as quietly as he could across the rooftops, bare feet muffling his approach. He was tracking a Captain aura - for what purpose, he wasn't sure. He didn't exactly relish the idea of getting into a fight, but maybe he could make them reconsider harassing civilians or...something.
He finally landed close enough to his quarry to see who it was - and his heart leapt into his throat. He knew that hood, the assassin-esque uniform in blues and grays.
"Fangite!" The name was past his lips before he could even think to stop it, and he leapt from his rooftop perch, practically running to the Captain. "Fangite, is that you?"

He had actually gone out tonight, at the insistence of his youma turn house pet, Airitech. That was still an odd thing to get use to, even all these months later. It wasn't that Fangite had to get use to seeing the creature as a common animal. Oh no, it was quite the opposite. He had to remember that the large black dog wasn't just that. Airi had nearly chased him from the house, saying something about how fresh air would do him some good. The captain sighed.
Stupid dog.
Fangite shoved his glasses up, so he could rub at tired eyes, the dark circles ever present. Another thing, the creature had harped on. Another two actually. Whatever. Fangite didn't care. He let the glasses drop back into place without so much as a second thought.
An energy signature pushed at the edge of his senses, and before he could gather the energy to even do something, it was on top of him. A name was called out, his. For a second, Fangite was confused. He couldn't recall any members of Order that new his name outright. Let alone ones that would be looking for him. He turned to face the voice.
It probably seemed like he was staring, and maybe, if he was honest with himself, he probably was. It took Fangite a few seconds to work through the haze in his mind, and process who was standing in front of him.
He knew those blues. He knew that red. He knew those tattoos. The white, was new. But, in a sense, Fangite had known it too. Because he knew who this was. He knew what those colors meant. Both good and bad. His hair was shorter, now that it didn't have the magic affecting it. The cracks were gone too. For a moment, Fangite wondered if the Senshi would be mad at him, if he told him he liked the other uniform better. Not the colors mind you, just the uniform. The were so different now. Both he and the senshi, as well as the senshi before him, and the one he remembered.
"Kerberos..." He breathed.

Kerberos took a few more steps forward, extending his hand towards Fangite but almost afraid to reach the last few centimeters to actually touch.
"I..." His voice cracked, and then he threw all propriety to the wind and threw his arms around Fangite's waist, pressing his face into his chest. "I missed you, I'm so sorry I left," he said, and his voice cracked. If there was one thing he regretted most about purifying, it was definitely and absolutely that he had left Fangite behind.
"Did...did you get my letter?"

Fangite blinked slowly, watching Kerberos. "You..." He said, repeating what the senshi had started say. Then the senshi was on him. Hugging him, clinging to him, and Fangite found himself feeling weak, and hard to breathe. "You left... You said you had to." He mumbled.
"Of course I did." He still had it, he had read it countless times. He had so many questions. Why address it to this part of him. Why not address it himself, his true self. Especially if Kerberos was just going to sign it with a name he no longer remembered. Why leave? Did Kerberos think Fangite couldn't keep him safe? He tried to push the questions and thoughts from his head, and instead tried to focus on the senshi infront of him.
Instead he collapsed, taking Kerberos with him.

"I did have to," Kerberos said, very quietly. "I know I had to. But I miss you so much. I'm so alone." So much more than he had been with the Negaverse, and mostly by his own choice. Kerberos was broken, hurting, and he saw no need to burden anyone else with that. Better to just withdraw into himself, paint on a smile, and lie.
Here, with Fangite, he could not lie, he just collapsed gratefully into the Captain when they both fell and tried his abject best to gether Fangite into his arms and hold him as tightly as he could. There was no telling how long he would have; someone could try to interfere, and he wanted to savor every moment.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please just don't hate me, are you okay?" Because there must be something wrong for Fangite to collapse like that, he realized, and he was being stupid, sobbing all over him when he might be hurt. "Are you injured? Or - or just - tired? Is there anything I can do?"

"Why??" The words slipped from his mouth faster then he realized. "Why?" He said again. What had happened that freaked Kerberos out that badly? Fangite let himself be collected, leaning listlessly against the other.
It was all too much. It was like Fangite was reliving those horrible days as that nameless thing, and when he found Kerberos on the roof and they promised it would never happen, all over again.
Hate? No... No, he could never hate Kerberos. Be mad at? Sure... But not hate. Never hate.
"I don't know..." He rasped. The Captain rubbed at his face before a noise tore itself from his throat. "No... There's nothing you can do now." Not after what he had already done.

Kerberos inhaled. "Because the Negaverse is wrong, Fangite." He said quietly. "It hurts people, it hurt me, I was tortured," he kept his grip tight on the Captain, fingers fumbling with his mask to pull it down so he could see Fangite's whole face. "I couldn't stay. I was hurting. All the time, so much." He rested a hand on Fangite's cheek.
"I'm so sorry," he said. There was nothing he could do, he had already betrayed Fangite by running away. "I just - it wasn't because of you, I want you to know that, I think I loved you and --" so many memories were gone, but he knew one thing, for certain, "I still do. I love you."

"Does that make me wrong?" He was part of the Negaverse after all. "I... I could have helped you, if I had known. I could have done something. I could have kept you safe." Fangite felt dizzy, despite having already collapsed. It felt like he was repeating himself. "It's hurt me too, you know." It still was. Did Kerberos really think he wanted this for either of them? That he had wanted what befell Natron to happen? That Fangite wanted what happened to Kerberos to happen??
Think. Kerberos wasn't even sure. Loved. Past Tense. Meaning Kerberos didn't. Kerberos didn't even remember him. The senshi knew Fangite, not Des. Not him.
"Why. If they hurt you so bad, why would you chose to keep those memories. Why not forget it all?? Why would you chose to keep those memories?" Why would you chose to forget me, and remember this??

Kerberos let out a tiny, heartbroken noise, shaking his head firmly. "No, it just - Metallia is wrong, she's, I mean, she's pretty...pretty undeniably evil, but that doesn't mean you're ---" he ran a thumb over Fangite's cheek.
"Why do you stay?" He asked, voice a faint whisper. "Is it just because you're scared of what might happen? Because I promise, I'd turn the universe upside down to find your Wonder, I would do anything for you."
He swallowed. "And I didn't choose. It just...when Cosmos took the Chaos out of my starseed, the Chaos took something with it. Because it doesn't like letting go."

"But I'm Negaverse. Negaverse is wrong." There for wasn't he wrong? Fangite flinched, when Kerberos spoke of what might happen. Talk about hitting the nail on the head. "Airitech too... I can't leave him again. I hurt him when I did that the first time. I don't know what happened to him. He's my friend." Fangite knew that must have sounded stupid but... He didn't know. Airi had always acted different. It was easy to forget that Airi was suppose to be this creature of darkness that needed to be controlled and carefully watched.
"I don't want to know it." He muttered bitterly. "If they couldn't be bothered to tell it to me then, I won't do them the honor of learning it now." The Captain scowled. Wasn't knowing something like that kind of important? How was he suppose to be this... thing, if he didn't know who he was???"
Fangite wrapped his arms around himself, curling into a ball. "I'd rather just forget everything. They can take it all at this point. I don't care anymore."

"You're not the whole organization," Kerberos argued, gently. "And Airi...I don't know." He hated to admit it, but he didn't have a solution for what to do about the youma. That was sort of...the hard part, when it came down to it.
"But tht's the thing, that was...that was the bad ending, where everything went wrong. And we get to try again. And this time..." Kerberos swallowed. "This time there's a whole Wonder waiting for you, just like there's a planet for me, and it'll be better." It had to be. It absolutely had to.
When Fangite curled in on himself, Kerberos scooted forward and wrapped his arms around him, holding tight. He didn't say anything, just...held on.

"Just part of it..." Fangite hiccuped. "There's no way to save Airi. At least none that won't flat out kill him. Order royals have the power to dust him. I can't lose him like that."
Fangite jerked away as if burned. "It could still end like that! Just cause parts of it have changed does not mean all of it has! I could end up just like I was. Nameless and an empty shell. Someone's ******** pet. Just a toy to entertain them when they're bored." He didn't care about the wonder, or whatever came with it. He just wanted things to go back to normal...
"I don't want to talk about this anymore... I just want to stop thinking for a while." A distraction was what he needed. His gaze flickered back to Kerberos, and he gave the senshi a sad look. "So how about it? Want to be my distraction?"
