Auror Headquarters
The central hub of Auror activity, it's now busier than ever. Attacks from the Death Eaters have moved the Ministry into action. They have reinstated the ever-popular "Wraith Squad", an elite division of Aurors. Please put all Auror applications in the bin at the front desk, and
have a pleasant day.
Auror Training:
Training to be an Auror takes three years after leaving Hogwarts; the Aurors ask for a minimum of five N.E.W.T.s, with nothing under "Exceeds Expectations" grade. Apart from Defence Against the Dark Arts, the recommended N.E.W.T.s include Charms, Potions (particularly the study of poisons and antidotes), and Transfiguration.
If a candidate for Auror training has the required academic qualifications, he or she must pass a background check for a criminal record, and must pass "a stringent series of character and aptitude tests at the Auror office." These tests assess skill in practical defence, perseverance and dedication, and the ability to react well to stress.
Once accepted into the program, an Auror trainee is taught (among other things):

Ron yawned, "All...nighter....and they don't even let me sleep a bit....Bloody heartless ministry..." he yawned again then walked down to his office, "Their really sick....those death eaters..." he muttered incoherantly to himself as he turned a corner. Wonder if Seamus pulled through with those Quidditch tickets...

McKinnins slouched over his desk in the Auror Headquarters. The past month, he had been preparing a prosecution for Giro. He put his hands through his hair, looking up to the ceiling. If the defence used the Imperius plea, he was going to make sure they never heard the last of it... Aggravated, he stood up out of his chair, and walked towards the bathroom. He needed some exercise.. Passing Finnigan's office, he remembered the conversation they had had earlier.
McKinnins, when ur headin' out, make sure to pick up the tickets for the Canons I got. Oh, and if y'see Weasley comin' roun', give 'im his too!"
McKinnins reached into Finnigan's room, and grabbed his and Ron's tickets. "Canons Vs. the Harpies... I guess I can bet Weasley's going to be up for some gambling!" he thought to himself as he walked towards the toilet. Absently looking to the left, he noticed a tuft of red bobbing up and down between the cubicles. Smiling, McKinnins shouted, "Oy! Weasley! I got your tickets for the Canons!'

Ron turned around and smiled when he realized who it was. "Hey McKinnins! I was just wondering about those!" He walked towards him. "So Seamus pulled through eh? Wicked! The game's gonna be loads of fun. The harpies are gonna be beat like nothing. I'm surprised they got this far considering their stats. Their all about show now a days. Only all girl quidditch team you know. I'm not saying I have anything against that it's just their beaters are pretty weak. Their chasers are decent enough, they pretty much make the team to tell you the truth. But their keeper is awful!" He shook his head out of pity. "They should have stuck with their last one, Lindsey Knickles, she was good! Stopped even the Kestrals from making their goals. Ofcourse the Kenmare Kestrels still won the game but what do you expect really? The Kestrels got themselves a new bunch of good chasers again huh? They sure can pick'em. Did Seamus tell you he tried out for their team and didn't even make the call backs? Not surprised. He never really played before, only a facts sort of guy. He seems happy in the Deparment of Magical Games and Sports though. Gets to meet loads of famous people! Especially the best of the best of the Irish and Bristish teams!! Lucky b*****d! So what's your team McKinnins?"

"Umm... Ron?" said McKinnons cautiously, so as not to start another rant. "I kinda lost you at 'round when you started insulting the Harpies. Me, I'm more of a Tornados supporter, but if Finwick got traded... I think I'd lose hope." He grinned, nudging Ron in the shoulder. "O'course the Cannons have been pounding all the opposition. Did you see that save Peters made 'gainst the Ballycastle chaser?"

"Course I saw it!! I was lighter then air the next day!! Ballycastle is usually 2nd in the league! Showed all those doubters that the Cannons are back to their fighting form!! And do you see all those posers comin' along? Jumping on the bandwagon just because they're winning! You know since they lost their last match I saw fewer badges then I did before. But Again the match was against the Magpies! Still...It was a bit embaressing...Canons 10 to 200....But it doesn't matter! WE SHALL CONQUER!!" He smiled happily. "The Tornados are doing well this year too. That seeker they got is a regular Plumpton! Young too, only 19 if I remember correctly. I think the captain could be better. Should've been Finwick instead of Harrison. I personally think Finwick would be less rough around the edges then Harrison. Most Tornado fans I meet seem to agree. What do you think? "
