While some kin are cautious, worried about what this tall stone means, others are excited. Regardless, it is a curious thing, one that tugs at the imagination and at kins’ dreams. Some who hear of the Obelisk come to be consumed by the thought of it, and they find that they must seek it out. For others, the trip to the Obelisk is more benign—they are simply confirming the stories they have heard or fulfilling a passing fancy. Whatever the case may be, kin have begun traveling, alone and in groups, to the Obelisk.
The Pilgrimage
This prompt can be answered as a solo or with friends!
To participate, create a new thread in the RP forum titled [The Pilgrimage] (KIN 1, KIN 2, KIN3, ETC.).
To answer this prompt, begin by RPing your kin undertaking the pilgrimage to the Obelisk. This can be done individually or with other kin. They may interact with the Obelisk in any way they wish, but there is no response from the Obelisk. Any attempt to recreate the event in The Obelisk fails, even if they perfectly replicate the actions of the kin who first came upon the strange structure.
For any kin that chooses not to touch the Obelisk, the prompt ends here. Make sure to discuss their reasons for choosing to abstain from touching the Obelisk.
For those that do choose to touch the Obelisk, the next time they fall asleep, they will be swept into dream so vivid and real that they will wake believing that all that they have just seen has or will occur. These dream prompts should be responded to individually. To determine what dream they have, please roll a 1d6. The number rolled will correspond to a dream prompt below:
When you have completed the prompt or RPed it as far as you wish to RP this prompt, and have reached a minimum of 500 words, this RP will count as an RP requirement for ascension or other RP-related tasks!
All participants in the RP must reach word count individually, and post the completed thread individually.
You may do this prompt for multiple kin (but each kin may only complete this prompt once, any subsequent interactions with the Obelisk will be mundane), just remember you have to reach the word count for each one.
This prompt is open until otherwise stated.

- Your kin opens their eyes to a familiar place that is perfectly the same as your kin remembers, with just a few strange changes. They cannot move from whatever position they are in, except to turn their head and survey their surroundings. Regardless of your kin’s normal, waking world reaction to these types of situations, in this dream they begin to panic. Just as the feeling is about to completely overtake them, the MotherFather appears to them and leads them through a series of familiar places that prompt memories and feelings.
Your kin wakes in the shadow of the Obelisk. However, their surroundings are completely unfamiliar. There are no puzzle stones in the ground, no familiar landmarks, or any indication that kin have visited this place. Your kin eventually comes to believe that this is not the same Obelisk they touched. What do they do and think?
Your kin is running from something; what, they don’t know. They just know they cannot be caught, though the Swamp seems to working against them. They run until they are so exhausted, so injured, or so caught up in the foliage that they cannot continue. Stuck wherever they are, they turn and are confronted by the monster they were running from: themselves. This other version of them is cruel and sneering, though, taking them apart with words or physical violence, knowing exactly how to take your kin apart because they are one and the same. How does your kin react when they cannot fight back?
The time between birth (both live and from an egg or sac) and seeing (knowing, understanding) is fuzzy. It is a time of instinct and a time of helplessness. Your kin dreams that they are a foal or lamb again, blind and helpless, reliant on the environment for survival. Your kin keeps their mind, but they are stuck in a body that they have long forgotten how to use.
Your kin finds themselves surrounded by the ghosts of kin they know and don’t know. No matter where they go these ghosts follow them, whispering secrets that they shouldn’t know. Eventually, your kin stops to talk to one of the ghosts. What do they talk about? What secrets are your kin hiding?
Your kin wakes in the place of their birth (all Swamp-born kin wake in the Swamp regardless of their ancestry). They are missing something or someone, so they begin to search. As they search, a storm begins to gather. Rain begins to fall and soon your kin is caught in a flood that they can’t escape. They feel that if they could just find what they are looking for the rain would stop, but there is no end until they wake.
