Kristen was laid in bed but unable to catch a wink of sleep. She was just staring at the ceiling and listening to her clock tick by. The redhead pouted and sat up in bed, throwing the blankets off her in defeat. Her stomach rumbled; she would kill for a pizza. Hmmm cheese.
The last few days had felt like a dream, and if she did not have her Senshi Cellphone and Henshin Pen to prove otherwise, she would have thought it was just that. A couple of nights ago she had met a talking cat and a girl dressed in a pastel fuku, a couple of nights ago she became Zhou Yi. She did not know what all this meant yet, nor did she know that her life would never quite be the same. All the could think about right now was the shock.
Summoning the phone from whatever void it disappeared to when not in use, the redhead tapped away at the screen. Before the senshi had left her she had passed on some numbers, contacts of people who might be able to help her transition into the world of Madoka Magica.
It was Adria that she sent a message to; maybe because s/he was at the top of the contact list.
To: Adria From: Zhou Yi Subject: Can't Sleep. Want to get food? ・ヘ・?
Hey. Are you awake? I can not sleep. Do you like pizza?

Adria was trying to be a good senshi; when his phone went off, he seemed a bit alarmed—fairly unused to the little noise it made. He fumbled with it for a good few seconds before he scanned the sentence. His mind scrambled to put a face to the name but he couldn't and suddenly felt a little paranoid about it.
The name sounded familiar, but…
Oh, man, he needed to get some more sleep, he was getting all goofy.
But…
Yes, he liked pizza. Yes, he could eat. All this youma hunting and running around the city left him with a very strong appetite, and if he wanted to avoid suspicion from his parents, he had to make sure he wasn't always clearing out the fridge.
He texted back a few seconds later, 'Yeah, of course. You wanna meet somewhere and grab a bite?'

Sure! Uncle Joe's Pizzeria? It is next to the DCU Campus! I am the redhead wearing the Ziggy Stardust t-shirt. I'll get the drinks~
And so Kristen did just that; got out of bed, put on her iconic Bowie shirt and drove down by the campus. On arriving she ordered two floats and settled down in a booth by the jukebox. There were a few students hanging around and by the looks of things there had been a game on tonight, at least the amount of face paint she saw on the patrons suggested as such.
The smiles suggested it went in favour of the home team, which was good; she liked the atmosphere and no doubt she would be invested once she started attending classes in the fall.
Cyan eyes glanced at the door every so often as she stirred her drink with the straw. To be quite honest, she did not know what she was expecting, but hoped the mystery would be unravelled soon. Who was this Adria person?

Adria texted back only a very quick, 'Kay, see you soon,' before he started meandering towards the rendezvous point. He moved quickly, but powered down as soon as he could. He'd have texted her what he was wearing if he even remembered what he'd had on before he powered up, and now it was just too dark to tell, anymore.
He had never been to the Pizzeria, but he'd passed it often enough that he found it easily—and when he entered, he suddenly looked like a schoolboy worrying about his first date. It was just expected social anxiety—concern about being too early, or too late, or not what she expected, or—
He didn't have much time to berate himself or worry about things because he skimmed the room and knew immediately who she was.
Or he hoped, at least, given that she was a redhead wearing a Ziggy Stardust t-shirt and was the only one who matched that description in this room.
Hesitantly he made his way over to the table, trying not to be too obvious about fixing his clothes, or fussing with his hair. He had a lazy braid, thrown over one shoulder, and a slightly oversized maroon sweater—nothing fancy.
"Uhm, hi," he said, cleared his throat, and then sat down across from her.
"I'm supposed to be meeting you here. —I think?" he chanced, offering her a sheepish smile. He seemed ready to bolt in an instant, though. He couldn’t bare to stay if he made a fool of himself.

Kristen's mind was somewhere else; but when he came to sit on the opposite side of the table it snapped back to reality. Large cyan eyes blinked at the boy with the braid, then a large grin began to spread across her lips, reminiscent of a cheshire cat. "That's me." She reassured him, a hint of a giggle at the end of her sentence. The red head head leaned forward slightly, catching her straw in her mouth before taking a long drink.
"I have not ordered anything yet, I did not know what you liked." She added, leaning back in her seat and folding her arms in a very casual manor. She took a moment to look him over - but tried her best not to be too obvious about it. She was just really curious to see a Magical Boy in the flesh! "My name is Kristen." She added on the end, tilting her head to one side as if to ask him the same question back.
She wanted to thank him really - but did not know if he was one of the senshi that saved her that night, she just picked a random number from the phone. Hell, her head was such a mess after the whole event that she was not quite sure about anyone's names; or what was going on!
There was a lot she wanted to ask; however she thought it was best to get the introductions out of the way first. It was not like she was in any rush to get home.

"Oh, I like anything, I'm not picky." He offered her a quick smile and held out his hand while he settled into the seat and introduced himself. "I'm Malcolm, it's nice to meet you. I mean, like this."
He seemed a bit shy, but he knew the best way to get rid of social anxiety was to tackle it head on (and hope, hope, hope you didn't do anything so stupid that it chased everyone away). "I'm actually pretty excited you texted. I was out patrolling," he started to explain—quietly, in case anyone was eavesdropping. "And I don't think I realized how hungry I was until I got your messaged. So uhm, thank you for inviting me."

"A guy after my own heart. Okay then; chicken and pineapple?" She asked, playing with her straw to keep her fingers occupied. She was not nervous, more so she was curious. She looked down to her drink to stop herself from staring - he was cute. She almost wanted to dress him up like a pretty doll.
She shook her head and chuckled at his words. "Yea - it's kinda strange isn't it. You somehow don't even look the same. I guess that is what it does? Makes us look... different?" She guessed it was something like that - or else the police would have caught someone by now. She wondered if she looked different to him too.
Placing the menu down on the table she called for a waitress, and put in their order. Making sure the woman was out of ears reach before she continued. "Thank you for turning up. The last few days have near drove me crazy - I mean. It is a lot to take in, you know. It puts me at ease, being around other people going through it."

Malcolm just sort of blinked when she said chicken and pineapple but he nodded without really thinking about it. It was an odd combination but he didn't really think to question it. Or maybe it was because he was shy and afraid of saying the wrong thing; he wasn't the sort to criticize someone's preferences either way.
"Oh—it's my pleasure, I'm happy to show up. I don't get invited out all that much. I sort of like my room," he confessed. "But, you never know when inspiration is going to hit, so it's always nice to go out and get involved in new experiences. Uhm, but this whole, you know, thing can be a lot to take in."
He was holding onto the edge of the table, thumb pressed on the underside of the wood as he drummed his fingers on the top of it. "But it gets easier," he insisted. "It's just, the first few days you feel crazy, and then you start wondering if it's just some big elaborate prank, or if you're dead and it's all just weird. But not bad, I mean. It's really neat. I've heard that you can get into space? Like, to a whole other world? I wanna go, but I'm kind of nervous."
He looked at the table and pursed his lips, feeling a little guilty about confessing such a thing. "…I'm not really good at this whole thing," he finally said after a few seconds of silence.

"Who doesn't like their room, I am locked in there most of the time too." She smiled at him, resting her chin against her palm as her hand continued to play with the straw in her drink. It was true she spent most of her time alone but that was because of her work ethic rather than any social awkwardness. When she did want to hang around with friends there was always friends to be found.
The redhead picked up on his wording and raised an eyebrow, it seemed like they both had something in common. "So, you are a creative?" She asked him; Kristen was starting a graphic design class at DCU this coming term and was interested in all kinds of art.
Her whole body language seemed to change as he carried on talking. Cyan eyes widened and a grin appeared to spread across her face until she resembled something of a Cheshire cat. "Space!?" Her hands hit the table as excitement took over. It did not even cross her mind that he might be giving her the wrong information, the idea of a new world was just too amazing not to believe.
Her mind right now = blown.
She darted forward and reached across the table, placing her hands over his and holding onto him, she was basically vibrating with excitement. "That is amazing, we can do that? You have to promise we can go!"

Malcolm had to hold his tongue; he didn't seem to know where to start and suddenly seemed a bit embarrassed. He didn't want to accidentally give her the wrong information, but he knew he definitely wasn't the best person to ask—or give information. "Well—yeah, I mean, we can go, for sure. I haven't been," he said, as if he needed her to remember this, "So I don't really know what's it's like. But I'm dying to go up. I mean—I wasn't, at first? Space wasn't ever, like, my thing. I didn't want to be an astronaut and space just seemed so…you know, so barren. Sci-fi can be cool! But I'm more into fantasy. So it's just…kinda like those two worlds kinda collided, you know? With this whole…Senshi stuff."
He had seemed to be more interested in watching his fingers as he tapped on the table, but every now and then he'd glance up to meet her gaze. Her enthusiasm was a bit contagious, though with her hands on his he seemed a bit flustered. He stopped tapping the table and instead had to force himself to look up. "—Aren't you afraid of, like, space monsters? You seem like you're taking all of this so well!"

"A little bit." She sounded confused, almost like she did not know how to vocalise what she was feeling. She was not sure there were words to describe it. "But at the same time- no? I mean just to know that there is something else, something more, it makes this world seem less scary. Makes problems seem... smaller, almost?" She smiled and acknowledged the waitress as she brought over there food, breaking away from the conversation until she was out of ears reach.
Taking a slice and sliding it over to her plate she looked back at the man sat opposite her once more. "If we really ******** up, even if it is the end of the world, there is still some hope - kind of." She chuckled, it was a joke, she did not want the world to end. Well, maybe sometimes.
"We should find out more about it, go up there and see for ourselves. We can be like Bilbo, go on an adventure!" She took a bite out of the food and then thought for a moment. Now the initial shock had passed she began to think about the situation more practically. Something did not really add up.
"How does it work? Is there a like... space ship?"

Malcolm considered her words and then nodded; he could agree with that. Now that he knew about this big war, it did make his problems seem smaller. Powering up and doing the right thing was stressful, but…smaller things—the everyday things didn't feel like they were so much pressure.
…But there still was that whole 'end of the world thing'.
He perked up a bit when she mentioned Bilbo—and an adventure. He had grown up on fantasy books and whiel he might not have been the bravest or the strongest, every kid longed for adventure.
"We should," he agreed, suddenly. "Go up, and visit other worlds. I mean—there's a world for each senshi, right? That has to be beautiful, and amazing. So—what I know, is that there's some way to do it on your phone. I would double check with a Cat first, just to be on the safe side, but maybe it just sync's you up with where your planet is, and then you pop from here to there, and when you're ready to come back you just do the same thing with your phone, except you get to Earth. I—Okay! It sounds silly if I say it like that! But I know it works, people have told me about it! So if they can do it, so can we!"
He didn't want to seem overzealous, but he couldn't help but be excited.
