When Whisler finally managed to say goodbye to Delphi and Hyperborea…it was with a sense of relief. They were very nice, that was for sure…but he really just…really wanted who he had come here for. And now he was late. Ugh. And what if Ashanite had been scared away by those two…he would not be a very happy guy if that was the case.
With a heavy sigh, the knight plunked himself back down on the bench he had been sitting on and grabbed his long mess of hair, fingers diving right in to start braiding it up again.
It was a great way to pass the time, that was for sure…but now he was thinking too. Thinking about brigades and working together and getting rid of chaos and all that stuff that was always preached…
What an interesting concept though…a group of knights bound to fight, given things to aid them? How…how interesting indeed. Maybe he would really take them up on that. Maybe if he got more into his things on is side of all of this…maybe he could help prevent more incidents and prevent more corruptions…
Maybe he really could get Ashanite back to the right side of this…he could hold him tightly in his arms and help him see the light again.
All of his concentration was gone now, his fingers working by themselves, twisting long strands of blonde hair mixed with crystals this way and that way, eyes out of focus as he thought.

Ashanite had felt three Knight auras and had taken it upon himself to press against the wall and power down. One was likely Whisler, but he couldn't risk the other two, either of whom might not be friendly, catching wind of a Negaverse General. He wasn't afraid, per se - an eight-foot-long double-bladed staff did wonderful things for reassuring him that there were very few things he was in danger from - but he didn't want to risk a fight where Whisler might be caught in the middle and all his careful work would be completely undone.
So he waited until he heard footsteps leaving, and powered back up to confirm - two auras retreating, one remaining.
"Whisler?" He stepped out and addressed the Knight, to get his attention and to let him know who the new General aura belonged to.

Whisler blinked, looking over at Ashanite, the braid slipping from between his fingers once again. “Oh…” The knight stood up, his eyes wide as he took in the new…general’s attire. “Ashanite, look at you!” Several feelings made their way through the knight as he took in the powerful looking general. He was proud of him, for one…proud that he had reached this level…but with that pride, there was a deep sadness that he was wearing the cape of a general, and not the cape of a knight, as Whisler himself wore…
And once those feelings had been compartmentalized, there was the unmistakable feeling of desire he felt when looking at Ashanite…the desire to be close to him, to embrace and kiss him again…to run his hands all along the smooth chest that was well exposed, seemingly just for him.
“…You look wonderful.”
He took a few steps towards the general and flashed a small smile, his eyes once more traveling the length of the man’s body. “…wonderful…” he repeated, much softly than the first time, barely a whisper.

Ashanite didn't even have to fake the grin when he saw the way Whisler was looking at him. He knew his new uniform was attractive, that it looked good on him, highlighted all the musculature he had taken months and months of effort to build after his corruption because being a reedy little theater nerd was not going to keep him alive.
"I do make this look fantastic, don't I?" He took a step forward, spreading his arms wide and dismissing his weapon, and he spun, a little theatrically, so Whisler could get the full effect of hair and cape and all of it.
"It's good to see you again. You're looking well, yourself."

The knight let out a low whistle, shaking his head slightly as the General spun around and he did get the full effect of the upgraded uniform…and the cape. It was a very nice cape…not as nice as his own shimmering length of fabric, but nice enough. “You almost make me want to just join you so I can get an open shirted option. My outfit here is great in the wintertime, but it’s downright miserable in the summer months, it’s not even worth going out when it’s so hot…but of course…my wonder is a frozen wonderland so, I’m glad I have the warmth when I go up there, that’s for sure.”
…Not that he had been up there more than the first time, and that was only for a few minutes…he was curious to see what it was like, but at the same time…
It was just way too cold.
“How have you been holding up? Has everything been okay? How is your wrist healing, is it better?” There was more than genuine concern on his face and in his voice and he took a few steps towards Ashanite, holding out a hand as though to grab on to something. Or stroke his chest. He wasn’t quite sure what was going on with the hand at the moment, but it was better just to go with it and see what happened.
Sort of. Maybe he was just a freak.

Ashanite laughed. "Oh, it looks good now, but I am going to be freezing come wintertime." He said. He tilted his head to the side, briefly. "Tell me about your Wonder? I've only been to Saturn, and it's...not any kind of wonderland, by any stretch." The cathedral of Ploutonion was certainly a sight to behold, but he would describe neither it nor Scholomance as any kind of...well, certainly not the sort of loveliness that Whisler seemed to associate with his Wonder.
"I'm doing better, physically - one of my lieutenants made sure I recovered properly." He rolled his eyes, but mostly in an affectionate sort of way. "Mother henned me a little, but the end result is that I am almost entirely healed!" He extended his wrist, castless and undamaged, for Whisler to inspect, if he wanted.

“My wonder, hm? Well...I didn’t see too much of it, to be honest…I went up there with this cat, Snowball…and we just went there to get my signet ring…nothing exciting. I mean, he wanted to see more of it than I did, I think but…but he’s Polaris’s cat so, that’s understandable.” Whisler trailed off and finally allowed his hand to connect with Ashanite’s chest, running his finger down it for a moment, before blinking and pulling his hand away, only to touch his wrist a moment later.
“…You have lieutenants? That’s pretty darn fancy if I do say so myself.” Whisler’s hand trailed down the now not broken wrist, and his fingers placed themselves in between the Generals, completely without his direction.
“I’d take you up to my wonder if you’d like to go…it’s awful cold though, like I said…but I’ll bring blankets if you bring a thermos of hot chocolate or something.” He’d take Ashanite anywhere, to be honest.
“I think I’d really like you to see it…we can explore it together, if you want. I had no real desire to with Snowball but…I mean, what do you even do with a cat, you know?”

Ashanite nodded. That told him some things about Whisler's princess, too, beyond just his Wonder - if the Princess's cat was alive, so was she. "I still have my old signet ring, actually," he said quietly. "It doesn't work, but..." He waved a hand. He glanced down when Whisler touched his chest, but chose to let it go without comment except for a raised eyebrow and an amused grin. There really were certain advantages to lacking a shirt on his uniform.
He hummed briefly. "One, mostly, and I'm not sure how much I could actually boss him around in practice, but yes," he laughed a little, and when Whisler's fingers entwined with his, he squeezed.
"I'd have to prepare, but yes, I would love to see your Wonder." Pull on a shirt, among other things, because all the blankets in the world would not make up for going to a winter planet half-dressed. "Next time we meet, perhaps? I can't go to space on my own anymore, but I still..." He sighed, a little, carefully folding his expression into something wistful. "It's still amazing, to me."

Ashanite squeezed his hand. Whisler’s heart gave a flutter and he grinned. “It’s a date, then. We’ll make a plan to visit my wonder and explore whatever we can find up there…maybe we can even make ourselves an igloo…”
His voice trailed off and he looked Ashanite up and down before laughing. “I mean, I think I might have seen buildings…dark shapes in the distance at the very least, so that’s a good thing…but we’ll have to see when we get there, right? Oh I’m so excited and so happy at the thought of spending more time with you…I…”
He leaned close, brushing his lips against Ashanite’s cheek. “…I really like you. No matter what side you’re on…to be honest, I think I might be a tiny bit glad that they corrupted you…I mean. Who knows if we would have met otherwise…is that awful of me to say? Because I feel pretty awful after saying it.” The knight’s face was red and he shook his head. “Ah. Whatever. I’m going to head on home now…I’ll see you soon though, okay? See you soon.” He gave the hand in his one last squeeze then let it drop, waving and taking a few steps backwards.

Ashanite smiled, and it was even mostly real - he did enjoy spending time with Whisler, and he especially relished the idea of seeing a whole 'nother planet. To step onto another Knight's Wonder, and be able to walk through it, and put his hands on it, and...
And, well, to spend more time with Whisler. Lies aside, he liked the Kngiht, as much as he liked anyone.
"I understand," he said, "what you mean. We never would have met, if not for that terrible day in the park. I have a lot of regrets about my corruption - but I would do it a thousand times if it guaranteed I met you." He was reluctant to let Whisler's hand slip away, but there would be another meeting soon.
"We'll see each other again," he said, and then he gave a brief bow and teleported away.
