The last time Talisia had tried to observe a Xaraan things hadn’t gone so well for her. This time, however, the girl was prepared for the creature’s intense burst of speed and wiggly body. How someone managed to ride on them amazed her, but perhaps one day if she could be fortunate enough then she could learn that trick as well. Holding onto a raptrix during flight wasn’t so simple, but she had managed that.
Would Silva consider her a betrayer if she found someone else to ride? It wasn’t like she could ride him through the hot sands or in tight areas. His large wings made that hard enough. Talisia smirked at the thought. He probably would be more thankful to have someone else bear her weight.
“Either way it’s time to see what can happen.”
Taking up her journal the girl began to walk. The last time she had run into the beasts it had been towards an oasis. While there might have been an area nearby with tamed Xaraan, Talisia preferred a challenge. How else was she to get stronger, in this case quicker, if she didn’t risk herself like this?
I live for the adventure. Smiling Talisia began to creep forward as she noticed a pair of Xaraanis. It was interesting to watch how they walked normally. Usually all she saw was a blur of color as they dashed by. This time though she could make out the sandy colored legs and the sharp talons as they dug through the sands. It seemed that they were looking for something…perhaps some grass? Instead she watched as a small creature squeaked and darted from a mound.
I suppose that means they’re omnivores then. She shook her head in faint amusement as the two Xarranis took pursuit. Eventually they would stop and continue their hunt…it was then that she moved forward. Perhaps this was the best chance to creep forward.
That was if one hadn’t noticed her from the corner of its gaze. Out in the sands, a figure of blue exactly wasn’t the most discreet thing. Freezing as the pair of gazes stared her down the girl made a small wave. “Hello there?” Immediately the female of the pair took a few steps back while the male moved forward.
Please don’t tell me I’ve found another pair with young ones. She already had her fill of perzai recently and the girl didn’t want anymore. Instead it just seemed as if she appeared to be a challenge and so Talisia found herself facing the larger Xaraan. “Well, here goes nothing~”
It was time to see if she could ride these things!
Laughing, Talisia darted forward with her whip and while the Xaraan attempted to bite at her the girl managed to grab him. Pushing herself up in the air, Talisia managed to mount the beast. As it ran this time she was prepared. In fact she managed to get her whip around it and kept it from tossing her to the ground.
Still even though she had defeated the bigger one, the hybrid had forgotten one thing.
You don’t mess with a mate without the other fighting back. Immediately she was yanked into the air by a strong beak and as she landed on the rough desert sands the pair seemed to laugh at her before leaving.
Her behind sore Talisia watched as the two Xaraanis raced through the desert sands with a sigh.
Who knew information gathering could be such a hassle?
