It was a wonder how Akio Yoshida even made it to class on time.

The alarm had gone off at six-thirty, per schedule, but the demand for beauty sleep had been so powerful that his sleep-self had managed to hit the sleep button as opposed to the snooze option. No second alarm ever came, allowing the young man not an additional five minutes of sleep, but an extra forty-five.

A door slam down the apartment's hallway finally awoke him from his deep slumber. Eyes cracked open in time to see the obnoxiously bright red letters warn him of his tardiness. A yelp and a struggle out from beneath the layers of blankets sent the college student scrambling into the shower - first things came first, after all.

Spring break had been a blur, the week passing by far too quickly. He'd reconnected with Bad Luck, his band, the night prior and the group had spent the evening rehashing their adventures and working on a new tune. Guess he stayed up too late practicing, for him to wake up so late.

Once clean, appropriate clothing had been found from within the depths of the closet and he dashed out the door, barely taking enough time to ensure it was locked behind him. It was only as he arrived on the steps of the Fine Arts building on campus that he realized the error of his ways: he hadn't brought a single thing with him.

Crap.

Well, it was too late to do anything about his missing school supplies, at the very least he could at least be in attendance for roll call and the lecture. Ugh.

Slinking into the lecture hall, brown eyes roamed the rows of chairs in search for someone - anyone - that could possibly help him with his dilemma. Already, several groups of students had clustered together, pulling out their notepads, laptops and editions of Oxford's History of Western Music.

A short blonde caught his eye, however, and with her, a glimmer of hope. An empty chair was seated beside her and Akio excused his way through the row until he arrived at the chair.

"Excuse me, ma'am?" Remembering his manners would be key, if he had a shot with this cutie, "Is anyone sitting here?"
