Barter and Haggle Prompt 2
Can be used toward Solo or RP req
Lately, the local market places have been filled with new traders offering their wares. It seem as if many across the land are trying their hand at selling clothing, weapons, and trinkets. With so many new faces, now is the best time to go to the market and barter for the best prices.
So go ahead and grab your goods or grab your gold and take a shot at bartering.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the merchant, or can be looking to purchase an item. Groups can RP with both characters on the same side, or trying to barter with each other.

Eira looked down at the little one sleeping in the sling she was wearing, giving the tiny, sleeping boy a smile and a kiss on the head before she walked forward toward the man that had come into the inn. Giving a happy sound she declared, "Caelis! How is my most favorite merchant in all of Dernd?" She asked as she approached him, giving her his best smile.
The young man smiled in return, cheeks flushed slightly, "I will ask my father when I see him next." He joked, knowing that Eira and his father had been doing business for some time now. Were it not for the fact that the man was so busy, something he'd warned Eira of in a letter, he'd of likely come down himself but instead he'd sent his oldest son in his place, "I hope that you won't miss him too much and will take me in his place, Madame Eira. I have much to show you, even a few things that I made with my own two hands." A claim that instantly had her interested as she clapped her hands together.
"I am eager to see what it is that you've made for me, Caelis." Eira said, giving the young man a smile. It really was interesting how many people seemed to be so eager to be merchants these days. It seemed that now that things were more peaceful that people were trying to find new ways to make a living other then being warriors. She didn't mind at all though, the more merchants the better, it meant she got better prices on things and there would be that many more goods flowing through the area. Her inn would be able to continue to grow and she'd be able to add more and more to it to make sure that it grew in popularity. As it was she was on track to expand the place so that there would be more rooms, she also had a desire to add some open air baths to the place, among many other things. All of which was going to be aided by the various merchants that came through.
The young man came over to her, taking off the rather heavy looking pack that he was carrying. It was something that had her thinking it might in fact weigh more then she did. A funny thought that caused her to give a soft chuckle before she moved to sit down, checking on the baby once more, making sure he was still asleep, before she looked to the goods that the man was starting lay out before her, "Ahhh, it seems as though you have been busy.... and I must say, those boots." He'd made those with his own two hands? Not something that she needed per say, but they were quite lovely.
Telling herself to focus she watched the rest of what he produced as well, a lot of interesting things that drew her attention. Jewelry, always nice, some more foot wear, and then some swatches of various furs, "What are these for?" She asked, picking up one of the squares, giving it a once over before glancing at Caelis.
The young man gave a smile as he picked one up as well, "It's a sample of the furs that I have out in the wagon. I didn't want to drag it all inside but I figured that this way the customers could look them over, decide what they wanted from the swatches, and then we could go out to get them from the wagon." He explained, an idea that he'd come up with, one that his father had allowed him to try out for this run. If it went well then he might be able to continue coming up with new ideas.
Eira gave a smile and said, "I think that it sounds like a good idea." Now that she knew what they were Eira set to going through each of the little swatches, inspecting them closely she nodded and hummed over each, setting aside those that she liked the looks of. She could always use more furs in the inn as bedding, coverings for the chairs to make them more comfortable, and to hang over the windows when it got cold. There were endless uses for furs so she was always open to buying more of them if it meant making the place more comfortable, "Alright, I want these furs, they will do the inn good, and..." She thought on it for a moment, debating, before tapping, "As well as these boots." She just couldn't resist them!
Turning to the side Eira called for Gyuri, asking him to accompany Caelis to get the furs while she got the money to pay for everything that she was buying today, "Just bring them into the back room and I will go through them and decide where they go after I hand Callistos off to Borra to look after." So long as Sinny didn't notice that she was putting Borra to work as a babysitter then it should be alright, right?
