Adria didn't think he was a bad senshi, but he knew he wasn't a good senshi. A good senshi wouldn't have a problem dusting what the rest of the powered population considered a common youma. But, here he was, chasing some large, rodent-like youma up and down an alleyway, trying desperately to dust it before it managed to get out and hurt someone. Twice, already, Adria had flat out lost it. He'd used his magic once—totally misdirected it, and it didn't even catch the youma's eye, much less help him catch it.
And it had bitten him—twice.
So Adria was feeling pretty stupid about that, and the nagging voice in the back of his mind kept asking him if he needed to get a rabies shot or if he was already a goner.
The first bite hadn't broken skin but the second one had, and Adria was getting frustrated and picking up random objects—a trash can lid, a stick, a glass bottle—and hurling them at the youma, stomping angrily after it.
He wasn't being quiet, anymore—now he just wanted to get the thing done.
The youma, however, seemed to be losing its patience as well, and let out a shrill, violent shriek. Barbed tail thrashing and claws tearing up the ground beneath it, it charged straight towards Adria.

Regardless of how he felt, Adria was actually in good company - many basic senshi were less than effective against monsters - even the common ones. Aegir could have told him so many stories about when he was starting out...how dismayed he'd been to discover that his magic was supportive when he was out alone....and how he finally started learning ways to manipulate it in a more 'sword' like manner. Said senshi was actually not powered up as Adria faced down the youma, but he was near enough to hear the clatter and crash of objects and the shrill shriek of the youma. Very little else could make those sorts of noises, so he ducked into an alley, pulled out his winged henshin pen, and powered up in a swirl of sparkles, a blaze of aura like a spotlight in the darkness, and glittering golden light that was observed by no one. And then he felt Adria and the youma, the energy signatures weren't strong but clearly there was a problem that maybe he could help with. Locking in on the sensation of auras under his skin, Eternal Aegir charged on over just in time to see the monster charging at a basic senshi dressed in sunset colours. He wouldn't be able to reach the youma, but he could probably snag the senshi; Aegir lept onto higher ground and cast down towards Adria. "Aegir Golden Hush!" A lash of golden, glowing magic went arcing towards the blond senshi, aimed at going around his waist rather than his throat; Aegir's magic would remove his ability to speak for a little bit, but wasn't it better to get away from the monster for a minute? If he caught his target, he'd haul him up and away, if not...well. There was always Plan B. Which, as usual would just be Aegir throwing himself bodily at the monster. Please let this work, Plan B is not the best idea right now.Kyuseisha no Hikari Up to you if he catches his sunset fish~

The sensation of a much stronger order senshi was immediately reassuring to Adria (who was now a little more certain that he might not die) but nothing after that point really seemed to make sense because the youma was still running at him—so of course, naturally, he screamed—except nothing came out.
Which sent him into more of a panic; he registered vaguely that there was a pressure around his waist and some glowing and the youma was getting closer but he didn't have anything he could grab onto—and he was frantic when he realized he couldn’t make a single sound.
…Not like crying for help would do much if he wound up skewered or trampled; he did the only thing he could do, and put a little extra effort into at least getting out of the youma's path.
The youma didn't seem even faintly deterred by the presence of another senshi; it only seemed invigorated, and eager to hurt someone.

Aegir could see the other senshi try - and fail = to speak and felt the way his line seemed to solidify around the blond; he'd caught his fish, now to reel him in! "And here we go!" The senshi of silence drew hard on his rope, hauling Adria up to him as quickly as he could so that the youma's hungry maw would be left empty. "Calm yourself, friend. My magic took your voice." He was watching the youma as he let the golden rope dissipate, Adria in his arms and safe. "Nasty little bugger." Aegir looked over the edge of the rooftop, knowing they weren't safe - most of these things could (and would) climb if given reason to do so....and since he was trying to play basic-senshi keep-away, well..that was definitely not something he wanted to happen. "It'll come back soon...and so will I." With a cocky smile, the curly-haired senshi vaulted over the edge of the roof and back into the monster's war path, kicking out at the creature shortly after landing.

Adria seemed stunned from the whole interaction; he was a bit dazed but his hand had instinctively gone to his throat. He tested his voice for a few seconds before he gave up, too worried about the senshi that had just jumped down to handle the youma. Adria's face was burning with embarrassment, but he was absolutely fascinated by the Senshi that had come to his rescue.
He seemed entranced—frozen, and unable to even consider how he could help.
Thankfully, it didn't seem like Aegir even needed his help; Aegir's kick seemed to do a significant amount of damage on its own. The youma reeled in pain and anger, pawing at the ground. It was unstable already. The youma clearly had a lot of power but it was hard to keep up with it, and while the youma seemed like it was capable of doing a lot of damage, it dind't seem like it was capable of taking a lot of damage. Already it seemed like it was falling apart at the seems—but it wasn't going to go down without a fight.
With one hideous shriek, and one great burst of power, it charged at Aegir.

I'm holding back still, that's not smart. Not smart, but also not something Aegir could really help; he was hesitant, nervous about accidentally over-extending himself and causing his nearly healed internal injuries to be stressed into breaking down again. And yet he still managed to knock a good chunk of the youma off with just a well-placed kick. He's safe, all I have to worry about now is this stupid monster. An ill-timed glance upwards as the shrieking creature charged meant the curly-haired senshi was knocked back into a street-lamp with enough force to force all the air from his lungs and stun him momentarily. Can't...c'mon Colin, get it together! Teeth sank into what would have been his arm if not for the large amount of fluff that draped down, the material tore away as Aegir shoved the beast back before stepping around the slightly bent pole so he could take another distance-giving jump backwards and onto a metal bench. " Golden Mute! Once more Aegir called upon his magic and once more he was answered by the swirling, golden light as it formed in his hands before speeding to wrap around the youma's horrible, nasty throat. "Ashes to ashes-" He sprung up as soon as he knew the beast had been lassoed, soaring over the street-lamp with the his rope twisted in both hands, hauling the squealing, shrieking beast off it's feet. The foul thing was strung up like a criminal in a hangman's noose, dangling and flailing - unable to get free while magic (and gravity) did the rest. "And dust to dust." The eternal crouched, not looking behind him at all because that would have destroyed the timing and coolness of his attack. He would only know the youma had been dusted by the slackness in his rope and the way a strange wind always came to blow the dust away...but he was certain he'd destroyed it. Almost entirely positive, anyway. Kyuseisha no Hikari I am sorry for the slow reply @__@

Adria wound up staring at the other senshi, silent and breathless for too long to simply brush off. He wound up red faced and shuffling, clearing his throat and feeling just generally useless as he watched this really cool senshi handle everything so perfectly.
He could only aspire to be half as cool as this guy—who didn't even seem worried about the youma. Who didn't have to double check that it was destroyed.
Who could just look so casual and cool, turning away from it.
Adria's magic had never dusted a senshi like that, and he felt a strange, hopeless longing. He had never really envisioned himself a hero, but he wasn't usually this useless.
He fumbled over his words for a few seconds longer and then managed a shaky, "Thank you, uh, for that. I'm sorry," he blurted, and a panic overtook him.
When he was nervous, words flew from his mouth. Usually either nonsensical or utterly humiliating, and he felt like he was standing in front of some celebrity or authority figure and his mind was just mush. He felt tiny, and weak, and ashamed; it didn't take him long to tear his gaze away and fall silent as he continued to shuffle in place. Mentally, he berated himself; if he'd stayed silent he could have just pretended like that magic was preventing him from speaking.
Maybe then he wouldn't jump right into saying stupid things.

Slackness and wind, the other senshi staring and breathless - indication that he'd done his job properly this time. Aegir rose to his feet as the magic faded from between his gloved - and ungloved - fingers; youma dust danced around his ankles before being carried away like magic. Probably is magic. Everything about us is magic anyway.. Returning to Adria, Aegir noted that the fellow seemed to be alright, if a bit stunned, a bit flustered. The curly haired senshi gave him what he hoped was a warm and reassuring smile. "Anytime, and no need for apologies. We're all in this together." Unwarranted as Aegir found Adria's reaction to him (he was nothing special after all), he couldn't help feeling badly for the other blond. Could he maybe put his new friend at ease with a small introduction? Give him somethin else to focus on, to maybe draw some of the fluster out. "You've had a rough night...how long was that thing chasing you? Oh, I'm Aegir, by the way...it's nice to meet you."

Adria offered a very quick, fleeting smile and nodded. "Okay," he said, but was certain he'd wind up apologizing a dozen more times before he'd finished making a fool of himself.
He stuck out his hand quickly to shake. "I'm Adria, and it is very, very nice to meet you. I'm sorry," he said, and had the mental capacity to count that he had eleven additional apologies to go before he died of shame. "I'm not usually so pathetic. We'd been fighting for—I don't know, fifteen minutes? At first it wasn't so bad, but the longer it went on for, the angrier it got. I was getting frustrated," he confessed, "But I didn't think I needed help. Plus, I mean—that's, that wasn't even a terrible youma! I didn't want to waste anyone's time by asking for help."
He sighed and reached his free hand to brush some bangs out of his face. "—But thank you, I really, really appreciate it. You took on that thing like it was no problem, though! How long have you been doing this?"

The smile was a good start, a good starting point, as was the hand-shake they shared. "Adria." Aegir's smile was expansive and bright as the sun across the ocean, the whole of his body taken with the emotion making it clear that his pleasure at meeting the other senshi were whole-hearted. "Honestly, it's not a problem, we've really got to look out for each other, right?" Hearing how long Adria'd spent locked in combat with the monster changed the curly-haired eternal's wide smile to a look of surprise and also concern, especially as Adria felt there stood need to justify his capabilities to Aegir. "Sometimes it's not about the strength of the monster, my friend, but more about how we're forced to interact with it? I mean, I'd be pissed after fifteen minutes too - and likely getting sloppy. I did it a lot my first few years as a senshi. Still do." He gave the blond a wry look and peeled part of one glove down, showing off a long, jagged scar that kept going under the bunched fabric, "And I've got the scars to prove it." "Trust me, you wouldn't have wasted anyone's time. Accidents can happen with anyone." Aegir pulled his sleeve back up, idly rubbing his fingers over the raised scarring hidden once more and chuckling a bit. "Since 2011, so about five years now? I'm eternal, too...so my magic's automatically stronger. I got my a** handed to me plenty when I was basic and super." He still did, depending on the opponent - but youma...well, he'd learned ways to make his support magic work like in a manner useful to offense. "Plus, you've got to consider...is your magic best for support or attack. Most of us work in teams 'cause of that." Like I should have, when I started. Like I do now , with Ouroborous.

Adria's eyes drifted down to the exposed scar and though he tried to keep a passive face, he still flinched when he saw it. He didn't have scars of his own—not yet. But he figured it wouldn't take long for him to start a collection if he couldn't get better.
"Five years?" he asked, still stunned by the number. "I've got a long way to go, I guess. But—I don't know. Right now, all my magic does is distract. I think. If you look at it, you get distracted."
He seemed exasperated, but was quick to offer, "I mean, maybe I'm doing it wrong! I'm still practicing. And I've got a team, uhm. Sort of. There are a few people I know I can call to go on patrol with, or who would have my back if I asked."
He just…hadn't asked.
"I'm…going to get better with that, though. I think…I was overestimating myself. I'm not a fighter. I never have been. I like to be at home, in my room, on the computer—and that's about it. I don't even like being around people, really. It's all, you know—social and…awkward, and," his voice tapered off and he had to clear his throat before moving to the next thought. "…I'm pretty good at saying the wrong things or getting into trouble."
After a pause, he added, "But I'm working on it. Just. Not there yet."

"That's just one. Of many." His eyes crinkled a bit at the edges as he pulled up the glove again, "I've even got a bite scar from where I was stupid and knocked a corrupted senshi in the head while she was already gnawing on me." Sometimes the injuries were silly, when you talked about them later, and it was really good to be able to laugh about it - there were so many other things in their lives that just didn't lend well to humor. Adria's incredulity at Aegir having been a proper senshi for five years was comical enough that the eternal could not help the way his lips quirked. "See, that's very much support magic. Mine's supposed to be, but I was alone for most of my early 'career' and I kind of...figured out how to make it work? But it's so much better now that I've got a team." Telling someone about how great a team was while knowing that they didn't really fit into the team aesthetic was a d**k move and he knew it, which sucked. Aegir really wasn't the sort that wanted to let people alone without helping them, so that was hard...but he could at least offer to let him hang out with the team, perhaps, for training days? Give him the chance at being part of the larger Order community? Hearing that he had a sort of team did help alleviate Aegir's guilt, though he couldn't help cocking his head and raising a brow in question. Maybe Adria just hadn't asked? Aegir had been the same way, really - always ready to help but the sort that found it hard to request it for himself. "Not everyone's suited to being a fighter, Adria. Some of us are better at teaching, or tactics...it's why teams are so necessary." Not that my team has much of that, we're none of us really meant to be fighters...he doesn't need to know that now, though."Would you maybe want to train with us? Or just with me? It's like you said, you're working on...and you'll get there, but not yet...so...yeah? Maybe it could be fun, one on one?" Since it seemed his new friend was a bit socially awkward. "If nothing else, I can teach you a few fun survival skills that my best friend showed me when I came back? It's really useful being able to surf traffic to get around Destiny City...I mean, we can't teleport or anything, so getting around can be a bit obnoxious." Could Adria see Aegir's tail wagging? Because it was wagging - the danseur was in full-on labradoodle mode now.

Adria smiled, but his brows seemed perpetually knit in worry.
He listened to Aegir with absolute attention, as though he were afraid to miss some key point of information. Still, he seemed surprised with the Eternal Senshi offered to train with him--teach him. “Really?” he blurted, realizing in that second no amount of scrambling to put up a facade would have hid how desperate he was for some sort of guidance.
He tried, though, and drew in a breath to try and compose himself. The tips of his ears were red and his cheeks turned at a similar shade His brows were still knit, but the smile seemed a bit more genuine, “I mean, if it’s not a problem, I’d really appreciate that. I admit, I very, very desperately wish there were some sort of class or handout that came with this. I mean--I know that you’re right, we’re not all cut out to be fighters, but--I’m not a tactician, not a teacher. I think,” he glanced back to where the youma had been. “...Maybe I’m best at being bait.”
...Which would be a much more useful position if he had someone to make sure he didn’t get eaten in the process.

Smiling, but still concerned, and very clearly trying to take everything in. Aegir couldn't help wondering again if he'd been like that with Castor, or with Thraen after returning from London. "Really." What an earnest guy, I bet the team would love him.... "Anytime, honestly. I mean, I've got work but we can work out something, absolutely." Adria was talking about how he desperately wished for a class or handout and that made the eternal's voice trail off even as it started to emphatically deny that his companion's best use was as bait."Oh! Oh but- Adria- there is!" Could he have gotten more excited? Possibly, but it would have taken quite a bit. "There's a basic information Primer on our phones! I didn't know about it for ages, 'cause the cat that woke me wasn't um...well, she meant to take me to another cat but things just kind of didn't happen for a long time." He paused, expression bright as the midday sun, "Take out your phone, I'll show you - and put my info in so you can ping me." Oh, this was wonderful! He could help his new friend even more now! And if Adria had the old flip phone version, he could take him to see Ash or Faust to get the upgrade too!

Adria nodded though still seemed a bit perplexed. He knew very little about any guide and pulled his phone from his pocket--a basic flip phone, still. He was quick to hand it over to Aegir, eager both to know that he could contact the other Senshi if he needed and to learn whatever he could about this Primer.
There was a faint expression of nervousness, and Adria couldn't help but feel like a child on his first day of school--eager and bright eyed, and one step away from making a terrible impression that would affect how others viewed him for years to come.
He bit his lip pensively, eyes flicking to Aegir for just a second before returning to the phone. "I don't use it very much, I thought it was just a phone, except for powered people. So it would be safe to just kind of...call or keep in contact, without the Negaverse tracking you. There's...more than that?"
He had been afraid to mess around too much--a strange, magical device that could do who knows what? ...No, thanks. He knew when to ask for help, and right now he'd take all that he could get.Syrie I'M SO SORRY IDK HOW I LOST THIS??
