Trading - Crafted a Bow
With her bow in hand, now that she’d made it more usable, V’demhe headed into the city market looking for a place to shop. Her weapons of choice were her blades so she really had no use for the bow she’d made other than to find someone that was willing to trade for it. Or at least buy it from her. Of course she wasn’t a weapon-smith so it was very possible that no one would want to purchase the bow from her anyways. Here was to hoping that wasn’t the case, otherwise she'd be bringing home a new bow.
Her eyes went over all the stalls and their merchandise. Such nice things they all had but nothing that really caught her attention. Dem wasn’t in need of anything that she could think of. All of her supplies her basically full so she didn't need to stock up on those. However, she could always trade for something that her girls would love! And it was that line of thinking that took her right over to a vendor that had cute baubles that her daughters would like.
“Excuse me.” She called out to gain the shopkeeper’s attention, though she kept her tone gentle so as to not startle them.
“Do you do trades?” It was best to find out before she really started to look at the things laid out on the small table.
“Aye, I do. What were you wanting to trade?” The man’s brow shot up as he eyed the Alkidike. It wasn’t every day that you saw one in these parts after all. Plus, there had been that thing about a year ago where some of the amazons had wanted to invade Sauti.
Lifting the newly crafted bow she'd just crafted up she smiled at the vendor.
“I have this. It’s not fancy or anything but it makes a good practice bow. It's strong and gets the job done.” Dem was hoping that even though she would be trading the man a weapon for something cute he wouldn’t say no. If he did then she'd have to find someone else to trade to then come back to deal with him again.
A thoughtful sound came from him as he looked at the weapon and thought the notion over in his mind. It didn’t look so bad. He’d seen worse things of course. However, the Alkidike was right. It wasn’t fancy. Most people liked fancy, flashy things. Still.. He could see the potential in it. A weapon seller had something he desired down the way and if he got the practice bow from this woman he might be able to trade it later for what he wanted. “Aye. Alright. What’s your price?” A hand of his gestured to his table so that she could pick what she wanted from it.
V’demhe was pleased to see that the man was willing to trade her the bow for something of his. Now she just needed to see what it was that she wanted for her girls. Since she had two daughters she wanted two things, it only made sense. Her eyes shifted from one item to the next until.. There!
“I’d like those two necklaces,if you don't mind that is.” She stated. The beading wasn’t too intricate but the colors were perfect, especially for her two little ones.
“Two?” He seemed to consider this. Two items of his for the one of hers. Then again it was larger and what he wanted to trade it for was worth more. “Hm, aye. Hand me the bow and take the necklaces.” He held his hand out expectantly.
Dem thought it was curious that he was so readily agreeable to trade two items for one, but didn’t question him on it. If she did she was afraid she’d lose the opportunity to get her children something special. So she simply gave the vendor the bow she’d made and took the necklaces from the table.
“Thank you.” With that she walked away and put the two gifts in her pocket for safekeeping. Now all she wanted to do was get back to her family. If she could do that without a mishap then she'd be grateful.
However, since she still had it in her mind to track down a familiar or two for her children then she knew there was going to be a hiccup or two along the way. Just how bad the hiccups were going to be was yet to be seen.
