Winter was fairly passed—much to Remarque's relief. It didn't matter how much clothes or magical chill protection he had, he hated the cold, and he hated the snow, and he hated Winter. He still felt like he was thawing out—and he was taking full advantage of the open park.
It was an old lurking place for him; he'd spent a lot of time here when he was a basic senshi, and it was more than nostalgia that drew him here.
It was business.
He wasn't the only person who thought the park was a good place to spend their evening, and more often than not it was easy to find new senshi patrolling. New senshi who hadn't yet been blinded by the general propaganda of their peers.
New Senshi ripe for salvation.
…Except, Remarque was still thawing out, so he wasn't exactly chasing them down.
It was a casual evening (as much as he would ever have), and though the energy signature nearest to him was not a senshi, he wound up pursing it anyway.
Knights were okay-ish.
And she was close enough, he didn't even have to pop through a mirror to reach her.
It took roughly a moment of walking for him to spot a bit of color; he approached harmlessly enough, even raising a hand in greeting when he knew she was close enough to see it. He could have shown up as Prince Remarque, but he rather liked the much smaller energy signature his Eternal form afforded him.
Much less intimidating, like this, too. For those times when you wanted to look friendly.
Like now.Kolina I hope this is okay! If it needs tweaks, please let me konw!

Wanting a change of scenery and to enjoy the coming spring, Hy-Brasil had opted for the scenery of the park as one of her patrol areas. Sure, the greenery hadn't filled in yet, but there were hints of spring everywhere with buds on trees, baby leaves emerging, and the occasional daffodil or tulip sprouting from the ground. It was a heartwarming sight to see for the Page. Summer couldn't come fast enough in her opinion. She was well over the cold of winter. As she stooped to look at a small cluster of tulips by a park bench was when she felt the odd energy signature. She was getting better at detecting signatures now and, for the most part, could decipher if someone was friend or foe. This one though...was interesting. It still had that wrongness about it but wasn't quite what she normally felt when it was a negaverse agent. Not to mention it felt strong. Much stronger than herself. Abandoning the tulips, she stood up and glanced in the direction the signature was coming from to find a man walking towards her. Muscles tensed. At this point Hy had enough run ins with Negaverse agents to not necessarily feel safe around them. She wasn't about to pick fights, but she didn't want to be caught off guard either. As the man approached though his easy natured gait, body posture and the friendly wave lulled the new Page into feeling that maybe she wasn't under any sort of a threat? Surely if she was the man wouldn't waste time. After all, Hy wasn't under any delusions that she stood a chance against someone of his strength. As he drew closer Gwen realized that he was a senshi which confused her more as she realized he wasn't exactly a corrupted senshi. Not like the ones she's run into thus far anyway. She returned his wave with a hesitant one of her own. If he was willing to be open and not attack on sight, Hy-Brasil was quite willing to oblige. She certainly didn't want to run the risk of pissing him off by being rude. Start off on a good foot."Evening." She called as she dropped her hand back to her side. Kyuseisha no Hikari Cautious Hy is cautious. XD

That she didn't bolt was a good sign for Remarque. "Evening," he parroted, casual and friendly. He was taking careful note of her, trying to figure out how best to approach a conversation. She seemed wary—which was smart, he supposed. She'd stay alive for longer if she didn't accept everyone out here didn't want to hurt her.
"Am I interrupting something? You don't quite look like you were expecting company," he continued, small little smile playing on his face. "I don't want to intrude."

"Well, having company is not the norm for me, so no I wasn't expecting anyone." She eyed the Eternal, trying to get a gauge on him. For the most part he seemed open and non-threatening if maybe a bit too friendly for someone she'd never met before. Still, if he was willing to be friendly and not straight out attack, Hy-Brasil was more than willing to go along with it. There was no reason to make enemies if it wasn't necessary. You never really knew when you might need a helping hand, no matter where it came from. "You're not intruding. I don't mind having someone to chat with. It helps break up the monotony of the night." She offered him her own smile in return. Letting herself relax some she took in the Eternal's fuku. It was dark in color like a corrupts but there was something off which she couldn't quite put her finger on. Maybe he was something else? Still that darkness of chaos lingered which confused her some. "So, I have to ask. What are you?" She tilted her head slightly which caused her red locks to slip around her shoulders. "You remind me of a corrupt but...not." There was no better way around asking. She was better off just asking and knowing right off the bat what she was dealing with considering his aura clearly told her that she'd be on the loosing half of a battle if that's what occurred. But, Hy had the feeling that maybe she'd be getting off with a rather enjoyable night of conversation with how he had so tentatively approached her. Kyuseisha no Hikari I am so sorry this took so long! I suck! crying

Remarque blinked at the question, but he didn't falter and the faint smile on his lips didn't waver. "Dark Mirror Senshi," he answered. "And we are infinitely better than Corrupted Senshi. My name is Remarque," he introduced, extending his hand to her.
"We're Senshi, not unlike the ones you're aligned with, only we are fully separated from the White Moon. Unfortunately, we have a bit of a distaste for the Moon Queen and suspect that when she returns she'll bring a new Apocalypse but," he shrugged. "She hasn't shown up yet so we've got other things to worry about. You know," he waved his free hand dismissively, "Negaverse, destruction of the world, getting into space. The usuals."Kolina pfft u fine; sorry i took so long ;v;

"Dark Mirror Senshi." She repeated to make sure the name stuck since this was certainly the first time she'd ever encountered someone from a faction different from the White Moon or the Negaverse. "Well, considering you haven't attacked me on sight like almost every other corrupt has done, I would have to agree with you." She smiled, taking Remarque's hand in her own. "I am Hy-Brasil of Earth." Hy dropped her hand after shaking Remarque's. "Destruction of the world?" She questioned with a raised brow. "Well that's an interesting thing to have on your to-do list. I have to admit, I can't say I am all that excited about that bit." Crossing her arms, Hy studied Remarque for a moment. He seemed like a fairly interesting person. Certainly quite confidant in himself, but seeing as she was merely a page and he was an eternal (do they call themselves eternals like normal senshi? Do corrupts for that matter?) there was no reason not for him to be confidant. It wasn't a deterring trait. Hy appreciated the fact that he was willing to present himself to her and attempt to make acquaintances despite obviously not being of the same faction. Then again, Faction really doesn't necessarily mean anything. Sure I don't like some of the Nega officers I've run into but some didn't seem all that bad either. Not to mention, Hy herself wasn't necessarily attached to the White Moon. It was just what pulled her into the war and where she was comfortable. "So, you aren't aligned with the Negaverse? Or at least that's what it sounds like, but you certainly have a signature that feels like it's part of chaos." She said leisurely. Hy was obviously curious considering she still felt like she was drowning with a lack of knowledge about this war.

Remarque nodded. "Hy-Brasil, was it? It's a pleasure." He offered her as charming a smile as he could muster before he continued, "You would be correct. We are like the Negaverse only because their source of power comes from some Chaos being. Our power comes from another being of Chaos—separate from their Metallia."
He did not mention that he didn't exactly know where the power came from, or that most of his explanations stemmed from what scraps of information he could uncover: they had some 'taint' on them, and he supposed Mirrorspace was responsible. Mirrorspace was at the core of all of this—and he mistrusted it and its secrets, but he knew they couldn’t operate without its power.
His expression did not betray the thoughts in his head; he seemed quite relaxed despite the brief bitterness he felt when he reflected on how little he still knew about all of this. "Please mind, Destruction of the world isn't on my to-do list. No, I'm just preparing for it. It's the Negaverse you've got to worry about. They're the ones who will destroy it, and I don't want to be stuck here without a plan when it happens."
He shrugged. "The Dark Mirror Court would rather the world not be destroyed. I kinda grew up here. Live here. Awfully inconvenient if I suddenly don't have a home anymore so, no thank you, I'd rather it stay the way it is. Well, mostly. I wouldn’t mind longer summers and shorter winters, but that's about all I want. And a better paycheck, but, eh," he shrugged. "What can you do, you know?"

Well this evening was shaping up to be quite the lesson. Not only was she meeting another faction she had never knew existed, she was getting a lovely lesson on them and a bit on the Negaverse too. I am glad Remarque seems easy going about all of this. She mused as she tilted her head slightly, returning his charming smile with a smile of her own. "Alright. So you're definitely different from the Negaverse. I mean, already you're the first chaos being who hasn't attacked me outright so that's extra points for you." She chuckled lightly with a shrug. "Are there any sort of higher-ups that you need to answer to or are you more similar to Order in that sense? The Negaverse seems to have a very strict hierarchy." As Remarque began to explain his thoughts on the destruction of the Earth, Hy relaxed a bit more. "Now that is probably the most sense I've heard from anyone. I really don't understand the desire to ruin Earth. We all were born here, be damned with our pasts or ancestors." Being prepared for the worse I suppose isn't a terrible idea but it also worries me that you feel the need for precautions like that. And, I have to ask, what exactly are you and the rest of the Dark Mirror Court doing besides planning? Are you attempting to put a stop to the Negaverse? Playing neutral in all of this?" Pausing Gwen laughed at herself and ran a hand through her hair. "I am sorry. I am practically interrogating you for information.Feel free to tell me to buzz off or stop. I won't be offended."

"I'm not offended," Remarque assured; she had good questions, and he was always willing to talk. Especially if it earned him eyes and ears on the side of Order. Once, he didn't care about the Knights. Even now it was difficult for him to care for them; they couldn't join the Court. They could join the Negaverse, and he had had long debates with himself over the thought of letting them wander around.
On one hand, they usually weren't any harm or threat to him or the Court. On the other hand, they were just waiting to be plucked up by the Negaverse.
"Planning is all we really can do," he confessed, but he didn’t seem ashamed of it. "I answer to no one, in the Court. And while it's great for me, it doesn't really help when you don't have all the answers. Once, there was a woman who called herself queen, but," he shrugged. "She is no queen of mine, and I doubt she ever had the answers, anyway. We have only Mirrorspace. Its secrets are vast an unyielding, but we're working on it. We don't have magical cats or ghosts to guide us."
He didn't seem resentful though, and shrugged. "But until we understand what we can do and what Mirrorspace is hiding from us, we're not in a position to do anything to protect the planet. The woman I mentioned, Ares? Sold us out from the beginning. She allied with the Negaverse to secure her own safety, but in doing so revealed our identities to the Negaverse. We walk a careful line. If I slip up, they know who I am. I'm not worried for myself but," he shrugged. "There are people in my life that couldn’t protect themselves from the Negaverse. I wouldn't subject them to capture and torture at their hands, so I won't act until I can be certain they aren't in harm's way. So, for now? We plan. And we research, and do what we can. Besides—you Knights and your White Moon Senshi should be enough to handle the Negaverse, right? You're not doing so bad, so far."

No doing too bad? Well I guess they weren't doing awful but Hy-Brasil had opinions on the effectiveness of the Knights and White Moon. With the obvious lack of communication and the inability to even function normally when in large groups, she wasn't sure how long their 'effectiveness' would hold up. "We're....bumbling our way along well enough I suppose. It's hard to say, at least on my end, how well we're doing." She shrugged with a sigh. "Everyone seems so....scattered and unwilling to group up and work together it seems. So far though, I guess it's worked considering the Negaverse hadn't completely taken over. "I can't believe that someone from your own faction, and your queen none-the-less, would sell out their own people. I mean, I thought we were bad with how much of a cluster ******** we tend to be, but that's just...heartless. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it I suppose." She let out an audible, heavy breath of air past her lips. "That's just...I don't blame you at all for treading that careful line and doing what you can to prepare for the worse. I, personally, would find that probably one of the worst outcomes for someone to do to me or...anyone really. Past corruption or death, anyway. Really though it's just a step in that direction." Shifting her weight from one heeled boot to the other, Hy released some of the pressure on one foot which was starting to ache a bit from standing still in one spot for so long. "So, you don't answer to anyone? That's fairly nice." She smiled. "I mean, I don't necessarily answer to anyone in particular but I've got my Wonder and my ancestor and the Code I suppose, but that's still very much a mystery to me. "I guess there's a lot of this whole thing that's a curiosity to all of us whether it's where our powers come from, why we're the ones pulled into this mess, or why someone felt their own skin was worth an entire factions security." Well this is slightly depressing talk. Hy, absent mindedly played with the end of one of her small braids as she bit her lip in contemplation to maybe turn the conversation around. "So, uh, how long have you been a part of all of this? It sounds like a fairly long time but one never knows." She chuckled softly as she tossed the little brain back over her shoulder with the rest of her hair. "I am fairly new to those whole thing myself and have been involved for....oh...a few months now...3 maybe 4? I don't exactly remember the date I was awakened. That was a bit of a hazy and headache filled day." She could still remember the terrible pain she felt from cracking her head on the cement sidewalk courtesy of the rat youma she had encountered.

"A few months?" Remarque prompted, pursing his lips and nodding. "You don't seem like you don't know what you're doing. I've been at this for a few years. It'll be five in a few months." The number had never really meant anything to him, but he supposed now that he had to think about how much of his life he'd spent powered up, fighting. Risking everything.
Remarque didn't live with regrets, and he wasn't going to start now—even if he still didn't have much to show for the Dark Mirror Court.
Yet.
"Remember, as long as the Negaverse hasn't killed you, you're doing okay. If you're around to fight, you at least have a chance—and if you haven't been doing this for too long," he shrugged. "You've got plenty of time to learn. You have any knights looking after you? …Truth be told, I don't really know how you all communicate or keep in touch. I admit, I've seen a bit of sloppiness," it was an understatement, but he wasn't going to be a total a**, "In how your numbers collaborate. But I suppose that’s what happens when you've got so many people trying to work together but no one's on the same page. "
He paused, and then suggested, "You should start a group. Get people you can rely on and trust to have your back."

“Believe me, I really don’t have much of an idea of what I am doing. I am just good at pretending.” Another person whom had been at this war for years. It was an eye opener to say the least. Gwen hadn’t ever imagined her future being stuck in an unseen war amongst people fighting over the very planet they lived on. In a way it was somewhat depressing to be faced with the reality of possibly doing this for years to come. Could she continue this for five years like some of the veterans she met? I really shouldn’t think so far ahead. I’ll just grow bitter. There was also the sobering knowledge that she may not survive that long. A dry humourless chuckle escaped the woman. “I am not really sure how we keep in touch either. Our way of communicating feel archaic and so many seem disinterested in the woes of others or are just unable to come up with plans that everyone can jump on board with. Truthfully, I think our numbers are the only things keeping us afloat.” Hy-Brasil may have been fairly new to the war, especially when compared to others, but she wasn’t blind. She could see the problems that were so blaringly obvious and the problem was, others saw it too but were still unable to figure out a fix. “I can’t say I have anyone in particular looking out for me but I’ve made enough connections now that I have a few people I can go to if I have questions or problems. I am better off than I was when I first awakened at least.” The mention of a group was certainly a good one. “That idea has merits but can’t imagine many would be interested in joining a group with a newbie page. I can’t say I feel like I bring much to the table.” She shrugged. “Maybe one day though when I feel more confident and sure of myself. I like the idea of having a close knit group that watch out for one another. Do you have one? A group I mean? Or are you more of the aloof sort?” Truthfully, Hy wasn’t sure what sort of category she’d put Rem in. He seemed nice enough and willing to help and chat, but at the same time she wasn’t quite sure the close knitness of the DMC. Maybe they all got along well enough that a group wasn’t needed?

Remarque clucked his tongue as though disappointed and shook his head. "Well then, it's too bad you'd been born a Knight. I'd have loved to see more Dark Mirror Senshi pop up. We at least look after our own and do the best we can for them."
Or, at least, he tried.
"I am glad you aren't entirely alone, though. They do that—to the White Moon Senshi? And even some Knights. Honestly, I don't know the point of awakening someone if you're not going to bother teaching them the ropes and stick around to ensure that you're investment even stands a chance. Otherwise you're just lining up cannon fodder. I don't have a group, per se."
He sort of shrugged.
"I have the entirety of the Dark Mirror Court."
They were a faction, though their numbers were so slim they probably could have just passed for a large group rather than the Court that they were.
He continued, "I look after them. All of them, when they'll have me. And I am certain that if I called upon them for aid, they would answer. I have always been there when they needed me, and I will always be there when they do need me. I would unleash no one into this war without ensuring they had the training and support they needed—and backup, whenever the situation should arise."
