Rasiel lost track of just how long he'd been out. Hours? Days even? The sunlight shone through the curtain and onto his face, burning him lightly as he cringed and arose. He reflexively placed a hand to his face like he always did when he woke up, on the rare occasion that he would sleep. His face stung hard as his skin made contact with the scar. That was right, he had carved out his remaining prominent feature that made him Rasiel the Killer. He couldn't remember what he intended to do after that. He sighed, his right eye unable to open anymore. He moved into the bathroom to clean the dried blood off his face. All that was left was the forming scar down the right side of his face. This was bad. It would likely heal up just fine, but it would leave a mark since he hadn't sought out a healer to fix it before it set in. His mind was blank, filled with only the loud humming sound that deafened any voice in his head. He walked into the living room, fleeting memories of the events that had occurred here. Rasiel picked up the talisman and inspected it, eye narrowing in annoyance. His body then began to move, it was going somewhere he was unsure.

Before he could realize where he had been going, he found himself at the front door of one of the houses. Hesitating, he placed a hand on the mask he didn't seem to notice he had put on along the way. Probably instincts to keep hidden in the light of day. His black hair, a mess as it fell into his face. He sighed heavily and knocked ever so lightly. He was ashamed.. scared even.. He had never experienced the feelings he harbored now and felt there was nowhere left to go, no one left to confide in. He kept his head lowered, eyes fixated on the ground as his body gave off the expression of a man who'd been broken down for the last time, ready to fall into ashes and blow away at any instant.

Kreios had settled into his new home, slowly making it more his over the last few weeks. Though he wasn't one for a lot of decoration, the house seemed like an entirely different place on the inside. Books piled on any surface that could hold them were the biggest change, along with numerous circles drawn onto the walls in each room - of course, they were completely removable, but at a quick glance they seemed permanent. What they were for, he'd likely not share, but he drew them in every place he lived while he occupied it.

The knock at the door was unexpected, and barely even heard. He'd just finished pulling a pie out of the oven when he sound reached his ears. Tail swaying behind him as he walked slowly to the door. He paused to peer through the peep hole, brows furrowing when he... recognize the mask, but not the scar beneath it. He frowned, then unlocked the door and then opened it.

"You seem to have been up to a lot... Come in." He stood aside, indigo eyes staring out past him to see if anyone else was around - strange for the man to visit in the middle of the day... Not that he'd really visited before, but he seemed like the sort that would prefer night visits.

"Have you been attacked?"

User ImageRasiel couldn't even muster the strength to look him in the eyes, let alone even lift his head. He was invited in and he complied, entering Kreios' home silently. He paused then shifted his gaze from his one open eye slowly toward Kreios, just falling short of locking eyes with him. Then he turned his head away. "No." he stated bluntly, his voice raspy and strained. He sighed.

You might as well have been.

The voice in his mind laughed. Rasiel ignored it, not even bothered by her comment. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the talisman and extended his hand to return it. "I wont be.. needing this anymore." he muttered quietly. Hesitating for a moment, he then took a deep breath. "I'm sorry if I am imposing.." he wanted to add that he didn't even know why he had come there in the first place, but decided against saying more on that. Rasiel mulled over in his mind what he should say, surely some kind of explanation was necessary for his sudden appearance and his defeated demeanor. He finally lift his head high enough to slide his open eye to meet with Kreios'. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He couldn't even find the words to explain his situation as he just stared through a pained expression.

The answer brought more questions, honestly. If he hadn't been attacked, then that meant that he'd... done this to himself? His internal pondering showed little on his face as he slowly shut the door behind Rasiel. He turned to look at the shorter Meta, expression bland as usual as he regarded the damage... Ill cared for, if it even had been. He should probably offer to assist with that.

He was distracted from that, though, by the offer of the talisman. He blinked, eyes drifting down to eye the token in Rasiel's hand. He shook his head, tail swaying slowly behind him. "It is yours. Made specifically for you." It would do him no good, nor anyone else, honestly. Kreios had his own talismans to assist with any... moodiness he might have. "You aren't. Clearly you are in need of company. Sit, make yourself comfortable." He nodded to the couch, then turned on a heel to head into the kitchen without any real warning as to what he was doing.

Since he'd just gotten done baking, he might as well share it. When he'd seen that he'd get a visitor soon, he hadn't really expected it to be Rasiel - let alone a Rasiel in such poor condition. Kreios fetched a knife, then carefully cut them both a slice of pie before returning to the living room. He settled a plate in front of Rasiel, then took a seat in a chair across from him.

"So. You are troubled. Have you seen someone about that...?" He quirked a brow, nodding at him as if to indicate the long scar forming across his face.

Rasiel stood there in a moment of calm hesitation as he looked down at the talisman. After a few moments, he put it back in his pocket and kept his eyes low once again. He tensed a bit as it was pointed out he was in need. But he reluctantly accepted that fact. It's not like he was there for a good reason. Rasiel complied with the request and slowly made his way to the couch and sat down. He reached uneasy hands up to his mask and removing it slowly to reveal the full extent of his wound. The house smelled nice, like he had been baking something before he came over, now he really felt like he was imposing and contemplated leaving before he further interrupted his evening. He sighed and buried his face into his hands, the scar still sensitive as it began to hurt against the pressure. "I haven't.." he answered, his voice weak and raspy. He noticed the pie slice through his finger but closed his eye and bit his lip in frustration. "I'm more than just troubled. Just... dealing with the consequences... of my stupidity." he confessed as he rested his elbows on his knees, face still resting in his hands as he just tried to collect himself, or at least what was left.

He took a deep breath and lowered his hands, opening his left eye to look at Kreios. "I feel like I lost myself somewhere along the way... but I don't even know where I went wrong.. or if I was ever on the right path to begin with." he spoke, not exactly directing his thoughts at Kreios, but merely reflecting out loud. He was out of sorts, that was for certain as he shifted his eyes to the pie then to the floor, his chest hurting too much to even touch the food set before him.

So it was more than just a topical wound - he was no longer able to even open that eye, and the telltale marking that would identify him was gone... That sealed the idea that it was indeed self-mutilation into his mind. Clearly he did still need the talisman. Though he should not quite be capable of such an outburst if it were rooted in anger with it on... He blinked slowly, possibilities running through his head as he listened. He was to play the part of sounding board, it seemed. That was fine by him. Even if Rasiel was not quite well enough to eat, he wasn't going to let his own slice go to waste. He took small bites while Rasiels struggled with his words, though he remained attentive to what he was saying.

"I see. Perhaps you seek guidance from outside sources?" He tilted his head to the side, one brow raised again. Living one's life by the diction of the cards was unhealthy - even he did not rely on them for everything, but for someone so obviously lost and in pain... one reading wouldn't do him any harm.

"That is primarily what I do. Everything you have seen so far has been after effects of my item, but divination is where my true power lies. So if you have come for guidance, you have come to the right place."

He could feel Kreios analyzing him, his scar, as he stared off. He didn't know what Kreios had been gathering about the nature of the damage he had inflicted upon himself. He contemplated on whether to fully explain it. Could he even adequately illustrate what had exactly happened. Did he even want to confess he was slowly losing control of his created identity. He decided against it, as the question of guidance arose.

Rasiel thought for a moment. Did he come there for guidance? Or was it just out of his own selfishness that he had showed up on the doorstep of the only person that seemed not to judge him for his past actions despite the actions he still continued to carve before him. He felt like a coward, but he desperately wanted to be a better person, and he certainly wasn't doing a very good job at it on his own. Maybe guidance was what he truly needed. Maybe just something, anything to at least turn him to reorient himself from the life he had let spiral out of control. He opened his mouth to answer, to speak, to say anything at all, but his voice gave up on him in that moment as nothing escaped his lips. He sighed, then nodded slowly at Kreios in agreement of the statement. Perhaps this is what he needed. Guidance.

He nodded, understanding the silent reply. "I don't do readings here. Come." He set his plate down on the coffee table, then stood, motioning for Rasiel to follow him into another room in the house. The rest of it was just as sparsely decorated, save for this room. This one he'd gone so far as to drape heavily sigiled banners across the walls, and laid out a carpet in the center of the room. Atop the carpet sat a sable and two cushions on either side of it, presumably for sitting. Once Rasiel was in the room, he shut the door behind them, bringing them into near darkness as the windows had also been covered. Still, he seemed to know his way around the room just fine, as he moved to light a few lightly scented candles.

Wordlessly, he approached the table and then sat on one of them before motioning for Rasiel to sit across from him. Once the other Meta was settled, he settled his palms down on the table's surface, closing his eyes as he breathed in deeply for a moment - and then opened them to stare at Rasiel with an almost unnerving calm about him.

"To begin, you will need to ask a question. You needn't speak it aloud, in fact it is better that you keep it between you, and them." As he spoke, he raised one hand, light forming as a deck of cards appeared one-by-one under it. "I will proceed through the reading, interpreting their answers as I come across them. We can begin when you have picked your question."

Rasiel compliantly stood and followed Kreios into the other room quietly. He'd honestly never seen something like this set up before, being all pretty foreign to him. He was willing, however, willing to do anything he could to stop this destructive path he was headed down. If it wasn't too late to turn back now. He sat down across from Kreios and watched his actions carefully. Rasiel was a bit taken back that Kreios could be even more calm than his usual self, as he listened to the instructions. A question. His thoughts were about to roar up into a frenzy of questions but he took a deep breath and pushed it back down, temporarily making his mind as quiet as he could so he could think clearly. He thought of the question, one pertaining to what he should do in the choice between Rhun and Rasiel. That was the best place to start. He nodded at Kreios that he was ready. He waited with bated breath for what was next, for even a glimmer of an answer in his chaotic life.

Kreios nodded, once again closing his eyes as he inhaled deeply through his nose. After a moment, he opened his eyes, which now shone with a pure indigo light as he began laying out cards on the table between them, face down, eyes still staring straight ahead as he did so. Once the cards were settled into place, he flipped over the first one, and then opened his mouth to speak. The voice that came through was a mixture of his own and something otherworldly, the sound of it was sure to sink into the bones of those who listened closely...

"You stand at a fork in your path. Two choices lie before you, continue as you have and you will lead yourself and those around you into ruin..." He paused, flipping over the next card. "Two names, two lives, one person hiding behind both masks..." Another pause as he moved forward, eyes never once looking down at the cards as he flipped them over one by one.

"The make-believe man has taken too much time. The real man hides behind what he thinks he is, but is not. Responsibility must be shouldered, the two must become one. Ceasing the double life will prevent the fires of the past from burning the future. The rebellious actions of the past lie behind you now, there is no use in holding onto what has been but will never be again. Mistakes have been made, consequences must be dealt with, but the true man has the strength to pull through it."

He paused again, hand hovering over the last card for a moment before flipping it over... "A threat looms on the outside, unable to enter. Do not fall into despair, standing one's ground will prove to be the best course of action." With that, he blinked, eyes returning to their normal state. He sighed softly, and then began gathering the cards. "They had much to say to you..."

Rasiel watched closely every action, waiting on the edge for the reading to begin. Kreios then changed, eyes glowing, voice so other-worldly as Rasiel's stern face softened with a glint of wonder and curiosity. It was unlike something he had seen before. He began to read the cards aloud. Each card making his stomach churn harder and harder. Despite how hard it was to listen everything be laid out before him like a map to guide him, it was a lot of information. The truth illuminating every mistake he had made as the future made itself known. It was apparent he had to change. Even more so, he couldn't pretend to be someone he wasn't. The implication that he was truly capable of being a whole person again. Not just living in his lies like a shell that protected him from the responsibilities he had refused to accept.

As Kreios returned to normal and collected the cards, Rasiel's expression fell into one of deep thought as he stared sternly at the ground. "It... it's a lot to take in.. all at once." he muttered softly, pain in his voice as he mulled over all the information in his mind. He understood what needed to be done, and though some things seemed simple enough to do, the others were not so much an easy task. He sighed, deciding he'd have to come up with some kind of plan later based on all that. He looked to Kreis and nodded silently. "Maybe.. I should go... I feel like I've taken up so much of your time." he offered as he hesitated in standing, still sitting there,. Though it was true he didn't want to impeded further on Kreios' evening, part of him just wanted to stay. He dreaded the idea of leaving because that would mean he might have to deal with Delilah once she found out what happened. More avoidance of responsibility, but maybe that conversation was too much for him at the moment. Baby steps, he thought to himself.

He blinked, listening as Rasiel spoke. He remembered all of his readings, each and every last one of them, so he had no need to ask what he had been told... Rasiel was correct, it was a lot to take in, so simple in words but so difficult in execution. One couldn't simply remove the mask and don both names so simply - it would require planning. Much planning. Briefly he wondered if Rasiel would be able to complete the task set before him, but he quickly shoved the thought aside. No, Rasiel was a man who had made many mistakes, but with the map laid out before him, he would do what he needed.

"It is not a bother, Rasiel." He shook his head, returning the cards to their intangible form. "It isn't like I have a lot of company these days. You are welcome to stay and rest for a little while. The task set before you is a difficult one, and taking a breather before commencing it will do you no harm." Kreios shook his head, then pushed himself up from his seat to start blowing out the candles.

His thoughts were beginning to kick up again, mulling over what he'd be told earlier. Though Kreios' voice broken through the chatter in his mind. He seemed genuine in his offer for him to stay, he opened his mouth to protest again but paused.

Don't go.

Stay.

Reluctantly he complied, nodding slightly as he watched Kreios blow out candles. "...difficult.. is an understatement." he debated whether to mention the prior events from the night before, but would rather distract himself at this point. Thinking on that further would only cause him to lose control of his sanity once more he was sure. "I'm wanted. And he's not. Maybe this was a mistake..." he began to speak, his voice weak as he began to stare at the floor again. Sighing, he came to a stand. He moved back to the living room on his own accord and sat down where he had been before. He looked down at the pie he had left earlier and contemplated whether he should eat it.

It would be rude not to.

"I think I'm in trouble with this.. identity thing.. I can hear his voice now.." he mumbled then sighed to himself, as he was beginning to accept that he was mentally insane. After a few moments, he took up the plate and slowly began to eat it. Strawberry. His eyes narrowed in pain as he grew silent, just eating the pie quietly.

Once he was done with the candles, he followed Rasiel back out to the living room, nodding silently to his words. Difficult was an understatement, but it was a statement at least. "Perhaps you should think of him as separate from yourself..." He mused as he settled back onto the couch. Rasiel had a wonderful knack it seemed for separating two parts of himself that really were just one person - but he did not seem to genuinely have a split personality.

"You are likely hearing your conscience. You have separated yourself into two people - but you are very much one man. Do you understand what I'm saying?" He tilted his head to one side slightly, indigo eyes watching him carefully. This would be the key start to this whole thing - whether or not he could recognize that he never was two different people in the first place.
