He still felt shaken.

In the days that followed their return to earth; in the days that followed their encounters in the Rift, Auguste did not leave his room. Colin and Nadia and Lorne kept trying to talk to him - Colin was, understandably, very stubborn about getting him to talk - but Auguste did not want to see anyone.

He couldn't get his mind off of what had happened on the other side of the portal.

His mind kept chasing things; possibilities, scenarios, terror and confusion that mingled together and made his head spin with the dizzying amount of it all. Some nights he didn't sleep a wink, others he slept too much, until his days bled into evenings and he could no longer distinguish between the two.

But he had to do something. He had to get out of the house, away from his thoughts, which were so thick that he felt as though they were choking him.

He slid out of bed, left the apartment, and powered up.

Thrymr went to the city, though he was not entirely aware of where he was going. It was dark out, and he was not paying attention, his mind a confusing mess of things that he didn't want to consider. It wasn't snowing anymore, but a chill ran through the air that made him shiver, Thrymr's long hair cascading down his back in white strands that stood out starkly against the shadows.

He couldn't concentrate, shadows beneath his eyes making his face even paler than usual.

Labyrinthite was irritable.

It showed in the way tension held his shoulder's rigidly. It was magnified by the set of his jaw, gritted teeth clenched so tightly his jaw ticked and the harsh dig of nails into one gloved and one bare palm. It was obvious in his gait, the quick strides of his long legs that moved faster than usual.

Labyrinthite was filled with restless energy.

Evident in the way his bright amber eyes swept across the dim lit streets of the city from his vantage point on roof of the tallest building in the city. He paced across the expanse of the concrete, cloak fluttering behind him as he moved even threatening to wrap around him when he spun on his heel too sharply.

The night was quiet, too quiet.

General Labyrinthite didn't like it.

He had expected it, after the mess that had occurred in negaspace. Order would be moronic if they were out wandering the streets so freely after such a horrid event. They had to know that they were being hunted with a fierceness that had waned in the past year. Labyrinthite himself intended to pursue any white moon he came across with all of the ruthlessness and viciousness he possessed.

So, when a flicking aura shimmered into his senses Labyrinthite stopped his pacing and opted to pursue. He moved from his preferred perch, leaping across shorter building's roofs until he reached one that still crawled into the sky but would not strain him when he dropped from it. Then, he descended, landing with enough weight, force, and momentum to leave a crack in the alleyway concrete before he chased the sterile, sugar pulse of a super.

Gold found white and a snarl almost ripped from his mouth when he hissed, "Thrymr."

He felt the power signature sear through the air like a lance, cutting into his senses. Thrymr sucked in a sharp breath, and it shivered through his thoughts, slicing through the haze that was perpetually hovering over them as he jerked his head up, breath escaping him rapidly.

He had to get away. That was not a simple White Moon signature, but a strong, powerful one that seemed to take up all the air around him. Thrymr took several hasty steps forward -

- and then leapt backwards with a start as someone came crashing down to the ground in front of him, concrete splintering beneath his feet. Blackness swirled around him like a cape, billowing shadows and melting into the darkness around him like he belonged there.

The hood was up, but Thrymr did not need it lowered to recognize that uniform, or the low, growling hiss of his own name that echoed in the bleak atmosphere.

Thrymr felt his heart constrict painfully, his eyes wide, and his hands rose in front of him, his chest so tight it was difficult to breathe. He took an instinctive step backwards, his own pristine uniform too white and too blatantly contrasting.

"G - General Labyrinthite," he whispered, and it came out a hoarse, raw sound.

It figured that the first senshi he came across after the invasion would be the very one that had slipped from his grasp, literally. It made his expression darken even as his mouth split into an eerie grin. His head tipped back slightly and the hood fell back, pooling around his shoulders and exposing the stark pink of his hair.

"Thrymr," the general appeared to coo, head tilting as he stepped closer. "Where did you run to last time?" There was a fake lit of hurt in his low, raspy voice. "I'd been enjoying our conversation and you just disappeared, which was really quite rude."

He took another step forward intent on crowding the super against the wall like he had in negaspace. Thrymr certainly seemed as scared as last time, perhaps shaken more so than before and he found it thrilling.

There was something compelling about the fair haired man that drew the reaper forward, hand reaching for the front of his uniform. "I don't think I'll let you leave this time."

He hadn't been lying when he said he thought Thyrmr would look better in black. Especially with that pale hair to contrast.

And, Labyrinthite had a fondness for the corrupts.

It didn't matter how much time had passed since the incident in Negaspace; Thrymr had not been able to get it out of his head. Labyrinthite's wide, shark-toothed smile, the sensation of his hand in his chest, the smell of scorched air, the bodies littering the ground, the snap and crack of bones breaking -

And here it was again, that grin clearly visible now as the general lowered his hood. Thrymr stared at him, his hands shaking where they remained up, palms towards the man as though somehow, hopelessly, he could prevent whatever was happening from happening.

"I - I didn't mean to - " he started, and he backed up quickly, his feet skidding. "I don't know what happened - " I don't like being told 'I don't know.' " - Please don't, I just - "

He had no words, and no reason why he shouldn't just run now. Thrymr's feet felt frozen to the ground even as Labyrinthite advanced towards him, and he couldn't shake the terrible, confusing sense of deja-vus in his chest, expanding outwards, twisting through his senses.

As the general's hand reached towards him, Thrymr did the only thing he could think of.

He clapped his hands together.

"Heart of Light!" he cried, and pushed out.

nuxaz
Thrymr presses his hands together and then opens them, palms facing skyward. An aurora of hearts gusts towards his opponent like a wave, and does mostly lightly bruising sort of damage. This is more of a short-range attack and cannot penetrate most protective barriers. This does not last very long, depending on the strength of the victim, 30 seconds at maximum. He can use this once per battle.

"You may not know the how but I'm sure you know something," Labyrinthite snarled as he grew closer to the shrinking senshi. "I want to know everything you do." A harsh demand spilling from his mouth right before his hand could wrap around the white of Thrymr's shirt.

Heart of Light the smaller man cried, a flutter of hearts smashing into Labyrinthite's face and chest. He staggered back, an animalistic growl tearing from his throat as he swiped at the other hearts that hadn't hit. The effects where minimal at best, but still enough to put distance between them.

Unfortunately for Thrymr, it only served to piss off the general. "Thrymr," he snarled, inhaling sharply before he focused long enough to teleport out of the way of he remaining hearts and reappear behind the senshi.

He reached for the long locks of hair that cascaded down the senshi's back. "Do not test me," he said low and threatening. "If you want to fight, I will give you a fight."

He didn't need his weapon to hurt the senshi, his hands would be enough.

Labyrinthite used his free hand to reach for the back of Thrymr's uniform and jerked, intending to throw the man into one of the walls.

Labyrinthite's height alone made him terrifying. He was both taller and broader than Thrymr, and although he wasn't outrageously built like the Captain in the jail, there was no denying that he was an experienced man in terms of fighting, lean beneath the cloak.

"I don't" Thrymr cried out, and the magic sizzled from his fingers. He had managed to at least push the general back a few steps, but it hardly had the effect that he wanted. In fact, it only seemed to heighten Labyrinthite's irritation, and he heard his name breathed out, half a snarl.

Fingers closed in his hair, too long for his own good. Thrymr staggered, and did not have time to readjust his footing before he felt a hand on his back, and then he was shoved, thrown sideways with a bruising force. His shoulder hit the wall first, pain ricocheting out from his arm, and then his back, and Thrymr let out a half strangled gasp, stumbling and collapsing to his knees.

He was not a fighter. He never had been, and he certainly stood no chance against a general, least of all an experienced one such as Labyrinthite.

"Please," Thrymr whispered, and his throat felt raw. He staggered to his feet, pressed back against the wall and tried to inch against it, away, his fingers trembling on the brick. "I don't - I don't want to fight you, Labyrinthite, please, I don't, I swear - "

Labyrinthite had a lot of advantages against Thrymr - he had his strength but before the magic and after the magical boosts. He had years of experience in the war, in battle, and he was efficient in combat to a point that it was terrifying to anyone that was even remotely inexperienced. From his experience with the pink and white outfitted senshi, Labyrinthite could tell that Thrymr fell into that category.

It didn't stop him, didn't make him hold back any punches.

Labyrinthite didn't care that Thrymr was not a fighter or that he was begging. As far as the general was concerned, letting the magic wash over you was enough to declare that you were prepared for the consequences of doing so. Especially for a super.

The senshi was flung into the wall and the taller man was hot on his heels, reaching for the slender column of his throat with his gloved hand. The grip was firm, unyielding and Labyrinthite used it to lift the smaller man off the ground. "You decided to come out tonight, as Thrymr," the name was all but spat from his lips. "In doing so, you accepted whatever fate it would bring you."

It was a heavy cost, powering up.

"Now tell me, where did you go?"

He did not get far.

A gloved hand closed around Thrymr's throat before he could get away, and he let out a choking gasp of surprise, hands automatically rising to grasp at Labyrinthite's wrist. It was a futile effort; he could feel his feet leaving the ground, his lungs heaving for air, and Thrymr made a half strangled sound in the back of his throat.

"I - " he managed to get out, and his fingers dug into Labyrinthite's arm desperately, his feet kicking out uselessly. "I - p-please - "

He tried to breathe, tried to focus on getting air into his chest, into his lungs; but his throat was constricted, Labyrinthite's grip tight. Thrymr's eyes were watering now, both from pain and fear, tears sliding down the side of his pale, freckled face.

"I - the m-moon!" he rasped out hoarsely. "W-we were on the m-moon! P-please - "

There was a scoff that escaped Labyrinthite when all Thrymr could do was to beg or grasp at the arm that held him aloft. There were feeble kicks that did little, it was practically like a declawed cat batting at him.

"How did you get to the moon?" He hissed, annoyed that he knew little of senshi and their space travels. He'd been off-Earth once and he still wasn't sure how it'd happened. Scholomance had been vague in his information offerings and by the end of the whole experience, Labyrinthite had simply wanted to get away from the knight that even killing him didn't appeal to the general.

Perhaps he could use Thrymr to get the information he lacked. He was soft and weak, easily broken. Labyrinthite was considering keeping him alive just to exploit him for information. The senshi quivered beneath his imposing frame anyway, intimidation served him well here.

"You didn't mean to go, who saved you?" He snarled, stepping forward so that his face was level with Thrymr's so their faces were inches apart. The general was still angry that Thrymr hand slipped from his grasp before.

He had no intention of letting the pretty senshi go anywhere this time. "Can't you do anything but beg?" He taunted.

He was not strong enough for this, and he knew it. The thought was embarrassing and humiliating, a shameful aspect of himself that Thrymr could not deny, but he'd been trying. Aegir and Mont Blonc and Methone had all done their best to try and give him as much guidance as they could, but Thrymr's willowy, slender appearance did not give him much credence. He was agile, yes, and flexible, as well as fast - but those did not help much.

Not when a General had him by the throat, pinned to a wall forcefully enough that his feet were off the ground.Thrymr sucked in a rattling breath, his fingers pressing hard into Labyrinthite's wrist.

"C - Cosmos - " he half choked, his head spinning. "Her name - was Cosmos, I t-think."

Their faces were too close together; he could see the little spirals of color in Labyrinthite's eyes, the heat of anger and the reek of Chaos that separated the two of them. Thrymr felt horribly weak, like a ragdoll merely used to spill things that shouldn't be spoken.

A few more tears slipped down his pale face. Thrymr's hands shifted away from the General's wrist and then pressed together beneath them.

"Lover of Light!" he gasped out and pushed.

nuxaz
Thrymr presses his hands together briefly. Then he pulls them apart, and as he does a glowing, aurora appears between his hands. He then sends it careening towards his opponent, where the aurora breaks into dozens of tiny hearts to bombard his opponent, causing small pinpricks of pain (like paper cuts). It usually lasts around 35 seconds. He can use this once per battle.

Thrymr had provided him with the name that Labyrinthite had expected and it did little to sooth his irritation. The general had expected no other name, outside of perhaps Queen Serenity who's ghostly form seemed to appear in only the most dire of times - though he had not heard of her appearing in some time, not since the regular appearances of Cosmos.

"How - " he snarled, fingers pressing more harshly against the column of the senshi's neck. It was counter-productive, cutting off his airwaves, the general knew but he did not care. He was angry, volatile and poor Thrymr would bear the brunt of it.

Until he used his magic, the bright lights spreading between Thrymr's hands and exploding into hearts that hit hard with their close range. They didn't hurt, not truly, but the barrage was enough make Labyrinthite release the senshi and stumble back with a hiss slipping between bared teeth. The hearts cut at the exposed skin of his hands and face, tore at his uniform to a lesser degree, cutting and stinging whatever piece of flesh they could find.

The wounds stung in the way that a paper cut in a troublesome place did but they were nothing compared to the cuts he'd endured from Iris and her burning rainbows or the wounds he could inflicted with his own weapon. "Is that all you got?" He hissed, looking more irate than he had before though he left the space between them, head cocking and lips curling into a cruel smile. His left arm extended, hand open and fingers splayed only to wrap around the bone-shaft as it materialized, summoned from it's resting place in subspace.

"Let me show you what a real cut feels like," he laughed, dark and threatening when he hefted the weapon out and swung.

As Labyrinthite's fingers tightened, Thrymr let out a choking sound, his eyes flying wide, his airway completely constricted now. His lungs were screaming for air, his chest heaving, and he saw black spots wavering in front of his vision, obscuring the general's face.

He barely had enough sense of mind to use his magic, barely enough breath in him at all. Thrymr knew it would not be a lot, but it was enough; Labyrinthite's grip loosened as he staggered back, and Thrymr collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest, his face flushed as he dragged in great lungfuls of air into his ragged throat.

Bruises were already beginning to form beneath his collar, dark, finger shaped marks on his pale skin.

Thrymr stumbled to his feet, feeling the terror in his veins at the sight of the scythe; it felt like ice, slowing his movements. Adrenaline was the only reason why he missed being beheaded or losing a limb, but the blade slid cleanly and neatly across his upper arm. Pain exploded up and down his body, blood already beginning to pour from the wound, and Thrymr let out a shriek of agony, staggering over his feet as he tried to get away.

"Stop - stop - " he screamed. "I'm not - I'm not worth this - please - "

He had no magic left to use.

What the senshi hadn't seemed to realize that was the more distance he put between them the more range he gave Labyrinthite and the more dangerous he became. The steel of his blade was shiny with the blood spilled from Thrymr's arm. It spread across the metal as the general advanced.

"You act as if this is troublesome for me," Labyrinthite stated in a low rumble, head of the scythe dropping against the concrete with a thud that cracked the ground beneath it. It was heavy and it showed when he dragged it behind him the chiiiiinking of the blade against stone and the way his muscles strained beneath it's weight and still -

Labyrinthite could weld it one-handed, almost effortlessly. A combination of his magical strength and the strength he'd built from rigorous training.

It was obvious how easy it would be for him to kill the pale haired man that attempted to flee - barter for his life.

"I don't think you realize how fun I find your pain, or how I like the way your blood stains my blade." A dark rumble of laughter exploded out his mouth, echoing off the alley walls. "Thrymr," he cooed in a twistedly sweet voice. "I am going to make you suffer before I change you."

His weapon was hoisted into the air with both hands and swung horizontally once, then diagonally the second time a sharp zing of air whooshing with the movements.

Drops of blood hit the pavement beneath the general's scythe, sliding from Thrymr's arm. He felt the nausea rise, the pain scorching up and down his arm, making his fingers tremble as he clutched them over his arm, scarlet beginning to dampen his skin.

Around his neck, hidden beneath his collar, the necklace that held the ring he'd found on his homeworld pressed against his chest, the metal warm from the rapid beating of his heart.

He heard the screech of metal on concrete, and Thrymr staggered forward, twisting, trying desperately to get away before the blade reached him, though he knew it was pointless. He knew that getting away was a useless endeavor, that he was not going anywhere - and yet, still he tried, shifting, pivoting away.

He wasn't fast enough. Not nearly fast enough.

The shriek of agony cut through the air almost as cleanly as the blade had. Blood spattered the ground beneath Thrymr's fingers, a coughing, choking rasp escaping him as he collapsed onto his hands and knees, fire on his back where the edges of his uniform were stained a brilliant shade of red.

"Stop," Thrymr whispered, and his vision was wavering as he tried now to crawl forward, to get away, to something -

"Please - "

He'd fumbled for his phone, pressed the only button he could, and did not even know whom he'd called.

Someone. Anyone.

Help me.
