Feeling bored at the moment Akeldama had a stick in her hand as she walked around the village. Mostly she had it so that she could hit stray rocks that were on the ground and slowly shuffle them out of the way. Her uneven dreads fell into her eyes every so often resulting in her giving a puff of air to shift them away. When she wasn't busy hitting a rock or two she was dragging the stick behind her and drawing lines in the dirt. Tos was busy today so Akel had to find something to do that would keep her entertained. Something she learned was a lot harder to do since she didn't really want to do much. With a sigh she looked around at those around and tried to figure out who she could pester or possibly get to play with her.

Zayana had just finished her chores for taking care of her mother's familiars. Mama Lumi, after seeing her fascination with the large beasts, required her to take care of their needs each and every day. It all began as soon as she could walk and comprehend the responsibility, and now it was like breathing. Wake up, feed the two beasts, take them out of the cage to allow them to move, visit them throughout the day, and then feed them again in the eve as the sun went down.
It was almost as fun as playing with Mama Zan's bow, and she often struggled to decide which training she enjoyed more.
Bouncing on her toes as she brushed her fingers on her knees, she made sure the gate was latched shut and took one last, longing look at the Limbara.
Mama Lumi promised she'd one day inherit the beast if she was dedicated to raise it, and Zayana was very determined to do just that. She was proud of her mothers, and would one day make them proud in turn.
Turning away from the gate, Zayana knew she had some time before she was required to be home, but the question really was what would she do with the small window of freedom she now had.

Dragging the stick through the dirt became her main focus and she began to walk in circles to create swirls on the ground. It wasn't until she spotted Zayana that she stopped. While their community might be closed off from the rest of the world it wasn't like it was a few huts gathered around a central fire pit, it had some girth behind it. So she didn't know this Elarian. Akeldama stared for a moment. Mostly she liked the flowery inspired markings that the girl had. It made her a bit jealous in a way. Smiling she decided to approach her, dropping the stick since it now served no purpose, and learn who she was. "Hello." She called out. Akel even gave a friendly wave. "I don't think we've met." Her Alkidike mother told her it was polite to use manners so she made sure to do so.

Stretching her arms high above her head (a trait she had gotten from Mama Lumi early on in her life), Zayana watched with a cool expression as an Elaria sister began to stare. She stared back, unashamed and relaxed as the other girl seemed keep to keep an eye on her. Zayana was much more hidden than most of the Elarian sisters, mostly because her mothers felt they could raise her and her sister in the comfort of their home and under their guidance. It is only their dedication to the tribe that they didn't get chided by the great matron.
That and the fact she often would visit the matron and the great tree for casual check-ins.
Zayana wasn't the sharpest, but she could see the tense nature her mothers would get when others tried to tell them how to raise their daughters.
It was that reason why she didn't often see the other Elaria wandering through the camp, and why she was unsurprised that another would startle upon seeing her. Even Zayana could tell, from her spying and prying, that her markings were unique enough to help her stand out, and thus she was noteworthy enough for others to recognize her.
As the sister approached, Zayana let her arms flop to her side, rubbing her fingers absently as the dirt and much stuck to the tips. She needed a bath.
"'lo" She called back slowly, eyes narrowing just a tad as she looked over the girl before her, before nodding, "No, I guess not..."
Her tone was a bit guarded, but she shrugged a moment later, "'m always training with my mamas, I don't really get to play with the sisters."
Her statement was simple, and not full of any hit of a bitterness or frustration. Instead, she shrugged a shoulder again and blinked once at Akeldama.

Hearing that this sister was always training wasn't a surprise. Akel was usually training with her own mother as well, unless she managed to convince the Alkidike to let her go play. Still, her attention was perked by the fact that this daughter of Elzira had more than one moma. "Who are your momas? I only have one." Akeldama did wonder why her own Alk mother didn't get a partner, sometimes. Other times she was grateful she only had one mother to listen to. "Do they have the pretty flower markings too?" At first she thought the question was a stupid one but then she remember that some of the Alkidikes were talking about asking Elzira for daughters. So perhaps this one was asked for? That had to be it, right? She wasn't one of the original three.

"Mama Zan and Mama Lumi...erm...Zandala and Lumikani..." Her words were a bit fumbled on the longer part, but simply because she wasn't used to calling her mothers more than mama or the beginning of their name. Another shrug, "Mama Lumi says that my sisters were blessings from Elzira, without being asked. But me and my sister were blessings for them, after they prayed to the great mother."
Lumikani spent a lot of time teaching her daughters about the Great Mothers, and went into detail about why she was special and why they were blessed. It also didn't help how biased Lumikani had become, often encouraging them in ways and motivating them outside of the sisters. Lumikani always said that someday they would see their other Elaria and train, but they still had a long ways to go.
Zayana didn't mind too much, considering she enjoyed her Limbara time and her bow time.
"Mmm...Mama Zan has these markings." She said as her fingertips danced across her forehead and arm where the flower-like markings rested,
Do...do not a lot of sisters have them?"
She was a bit surprised, considering Alkidikes were bloomed from flowers. Yet, Lumikani didn't have any, so maybe they were actually the rare ones, and not her smaller mother.

Zandala and Lumikani. The first one she didn't know. The second one though, she'd heard of that name. Or something similar she was sure. She'd have to ask her own mother about it later. "I'm not sure who I was a blessing for. My mother says I was given to her by another Alkidike." Akel shrugged her shoulders. She leaned in a bit closer to look at the markings. All the Alkidike she'd seen so far didn't have anything like it. So when asked if other sisters had the same thing she shook her head. "My mother has lines." She trailed her fingers over her arms to show what she meant. "And most of the other Alks have circles or dots." It was interesting to see the flowers. And very pretty.

Zayana shrugged her shoulders once, before flashing a small smile at Akel, "We are all blessings to the Alkidike sisters, and we will be great leaders once we grow older and more sisters are bloomed." Nodding, she remembered how Lumikani continued to tell her of her worth, and she tried to express the same to the Elaria before her. They were both very important, and it needed to be known.
"I dont really see any other Alkidike sisters, Mama Lumi and Mama Zan like me to stay at home to train..." Sometimes she saw the others through her window or during her training, but often her mothers tried to keep her and her sister away so they would get focused, one-on-one training. Occasionally, she heard a few stern words when she was asleep in bed that her mother's had with another sister.
"I do know Mama Lumi has smooth lines and spots, but she also covers them with paint..."

It made sense that her Alkidike mothers would keep her home to train. In fact most of the Elaria were trained from the moment they could walk on their own. Taught how to hold a weapon, how to move with it, and given endurance training. Histories were also taught. Akel lifted her small shoulders slightly before she dropped them. "Ciriet trains me but I still get to leave the house." When she learned that one of the girl's mothers covered her markings with paint she grew confused and it showed on her face. "Why would she do that?" Akeldama was taught that ones markings were something to be proud of. It was their own personal brand from their mother tree. "Does she not like her markings?"

Zayana didn't seem too disturbed by the fact she wasn't permitted to leave, mostly because she enjoyed the fact that she got to spend time with her mothers and sisters. Although she did miss a bit of the other Elaria, she wasn't too worried about Alkidikes outside. She figured when she was old enough she'd be able to join the sisterhood and prove her worth; for now she simply needed to keep training.
"Oh, the paint? Because it makes her look dangerous...she has black markings next to her green markings, and she looks really dangerous!" Zayana was actually really interested in the concept of the paint, and wondered often if she could use it to mimic her mother in both markings and maybe hair.
The idea of darker hair to match her mothers was something she played around with quite frequently, in fact, "Her markings are still there, but she paints like this..."
Zayana took her finger and traced the outside of her marking, "Like the beach...it breaks her markings away from her skin..."Heras Box Hey! I'm 100% down to speed through this today if you are still interested

The paint made her look more dangerous? Akeldama tried to figure out how pain on one's face could do that. She thought it would be the weapon that would make her look that way. Still she watched as Zayana demonstrated. "Hmn, never heard of that before." She might try it and see how well it works for her. Akel was sure that Elzira had made her as fierce-some as she wanted but maybe she could just try and see. No harm in that. "Do both your moms do it?" Her curiosity over the whole thing was making her ask more questions.

As Akeldama thought over her words, Zayana glanced back to her home and where her Limbara was, thoughtful for a long moment and also making sure her family wasn't about to come outside. She wasn't sure if they'd be too upset to see her with a sister, but she also knew they wanted her to focus on her studies whenever possible.
"No, just Mama Lumi...she cleans it off sometimes, but most of the time it is all messy and makes her look dangerous!"
Zayana didn't mind all the questions, and turned back to her sister with a bright grin.

Messy face paint made the woman look more dangerous? Akeldama giggled and nodded her head. She could picture it. "Sounds cool." "So would you be allowed to come play?" The girl had to ask at least. Of course she knew that most Alkidike mothers of the Elaria insisted that their child train rather than goof off.

Zayana was silent for a moment, her eyes wide and her antennae twitching lightly. It was still early, her mothers were busy with their own training. Zandala was often sleeping and up late, while Lumikani was off on her morning run that took her out until the sun rose above the trees.
"I can't go far, but we can play around here!" Zayana finally determined, after looking the fellow Elaria over. She knew that if she got caught, her mothers would see it as a chance to further develop relationships with her sisters and not as if anyone was attempting to 'corrupt' her.
"I'm all done with my Limbara anyway!"

She grinned and felt her top antennae lift in excitement! Akeldama then stepped forward and touched Zayana on the shoulder before running away. "Tag!" The girl called over her shoulder at the other. Tag might not be the most exciting game but at least if they did get caught then they were running. It was kinda like training! She did make sure that she stayed near where Zayana had said so that the other Elaria wouldn't get in trouble for being too far. Akel checked to see if she was being chased, or if the other girl even understood the game concept.
