Youma

The only thing certain about the creature was that it was pink.

It wasn't an ordinary pink to be sure - these things didn't tend to be pink, after all - but at least it was quantifiable. It was something that could be described. Like bubblegum.

Unfortunately, that's where the simple explanations ended.

Other than its unique yet describable color, the thing was rather hard to pin down. It seemed to have fur or something like it albeit being rather fine. You could almost see its pale skin. At moments, you felt like you could see through it. Perhaps you could. There seemed to be an ethereal sheen to its small body. It reflected light like a mirror.

It didn't seem to have the right amount of limbs either. Twice as many as need be. Its tail even forked into two at the end as if it couldn't decide whether to be one or two. It had two antenna atop its head between two tall ears that didn't seem to belong to any known creature.

If you had to describe it you might say it looked a bit like an emancipated cat.

This more had to do with the fact that it was purring than anything else.

It seemed to have spotted someone in the distance that, for some reason, it was happy to see.

Youma

The youma walked closer to the girl and was now under the bench. Its purring could be heard quite well now.

It seated itself just below the senshi's feet. It could tell she was corrupted now. It mewed happily.

It seemed to want attention. Perhaps it was harmless.

Youma

The creature raised its head as if to meet the senshi's hand. It was surprisingly soft.

The youma must be young. Upon closer inspection, it didn't seem like it had quite grown into its many long and lanky limbs. Its ears were certainly too large for its head. Its feet were as big as a rabbit's. It walked rather wobbly too. But that could have been its excitement.

It began to wrap its antenna around the girl's wrists. The appendages were oddly dexterous. A slight vibration could be felt as the thing had apparently not yet stopped purring.

Youma

The youma seemed to like being pet behind the ear. Its purring continued.

The hair on its body shimmered as it was stroked by the corrupt senshi's hand. Despite its unnatural look, it glistened in the light. It was almost pretty in its own way.

The creature paused for a moment and the purring stopped. It seemed to understand the last thing the girl had said. The antenna that was not wrapped around her wrist twitched. Perhaps it could hear with it as well.

Energy.

It did almost appear to recognize the word. It did look like it could use some food. It was rather skinny. But where could one get food - or energy - for a tiny youma?

Youma

The youma stared intently as the senshi caused something to materialize in her hand. However she had hidden it, the creature did not know. To it, the effect was like a magic.

If the corrupted senshi didn't have a captive audience before, she did now.

The small thing mewed and mewed at the orb of energy. It never once took its eye off the swirling ball. It circled around waiting.

Its eyes were glowing brightly now. It was like a magician doing her magic tricks.

Youma

Youma weren't particularly good at games of fetch.

Energy was just as likely to be consumed by a youma as retrieved by one. Youma subsisted mostly on energy with the occasional star seed here and there. There were even youma who seemed to enjoy the crystals that grow in the Rift.

The small creature retrieved the orb of energy, but it showed little sign of wanting to return it. Instead, it crewed on it as best it could, clearly attempting to break it. Its teeth were increasingly menacing for such a slight creature.

For a second, it even looked ferocious.

Youma

The youma was not successful in its attempts to break open the orb. Try as it might, it just couldn't quite figure out how to get to the energy inside.

The creature finally lashed at the sphere with its tail sending the thing flying accross the ground only to roll under the bench where the senshi watched.

The small thing only watched for a moment looking from the girl and the orb and back again. It was strangely expectant, like a child waiting on its parent to fulfill its needs. Perhaps it was a young youma. How it came to be was another question entirely. Maybe youma did breed or some lost child had somehow transformed into one. There were many ways to create a youma, after all.
