A soft rustle of feathers broke the near silence as Ree walked, wings stretching to their fullest as he looked up toward the sky with a grin on his face. He wanted to fly or hum, or something to show how happy was he. He was still carrying the slight high from being told he could go to the Sanctuary a few days ago and even through all the preparations he was more excited than scared. It was somewhere new where he could go as he was... mostly without having to worry about humans.

"Humans..." he said softly and lowered his wings until they folded comfortably against his back. Reaching up he pulled on the cord of his hood a little tighter, wincing at the twinge of pain as one of his head feathers bended the wrong way. He was to obvious to pass for anything other than meta. "Well that is a start" he muttered to himself looking down at the copy of one of the flyers in his other hand. Rhun and Maribelle, researchers that opened this place back up after proving the existence of malice and manes. What was the reason they opened it? were they looking for more test subjects or did they truly just want to help their own kind.

Stuffing the flyer back into his pocket, the forest didn't look as inviting as it did before, he took wing. Flying close to the road he zoomed over it until the Sanctuary came into view. Landing only to walk the rest of the way as nervousness he hadn't felt before set in. He paused some feet before the gate looking at what he could before looking for some type of intercom or even bell. He settle finally to just calling out to those inside before attempting the gate or maybe even flying over. "Hello?"

User ImageIt was a rare sight to see Rhun merely walking around, though he had been acting a little off lately, the reason unknown to others as he would brush off any questions with dismissal and a charming smile. He had been listening intently to the sounds of the grounds, finding comfort in the lack of unsettling noises, only really hearing birds and ocean waves and the occasion chatter of metas on the grounds. Then a voice caught his attention from afar, someone calling out to anyone. Rhun bee lined toward the gates where he was sure the voice came from. As the white haired meta came into view, Rhun smiled softly and waved lightly. "Oh, hello there! Let me get the gate for you.." he offered, opening the gate, and setting it open. "The gate sometimes swings closed when the wind picks up and I haven't had time to fix it." he moved a hand to signal him in. "My name is Headmaster Rhun and I own Metamorphose Sanctuary. Have you come for safety?" he inquired, his slender eyes peering through the mask to quickly look him over. It wasn't a meta he had recognized, but it was obvious he was definitely a meta. "I can provide you with housing if you need it. I would just need to know if you would be living on your own or if you have others coming to live with you." he explained, motioning for him to follow as Rhun began to walk toward the main building. He would be able to fill out the correct paperwork once there, but at this moment, he intended on understanding what situation this man was in and what he could provide to him if he needed it. All the while, his light demeanor never faded for a second as he bounced lightly as he walked gracefully across the path.

Ree blinked as he watched the tall red eyed gentleman head toward the door. //A butler? ...really?// he thought, but his face was set in a present expression that changed to a smile at the mentioned of the wind for no real reason. He hesitated at the threshold but finally walked through meeting those eyes automatically and not looking away even as he kept the smile. //Headmaster Rhun? He is answering his own door? ... maybe there aren't as many metas coming here was Mara thought// .

Blinking he looked down at the flyer in his hand but any thought of unrolling it was forgotten as Rhun started to walk."On my own" He said quickly before taking a few fast steps to catch up, looking around as he moved toward the building wishing he had taken a fly by before going to the gate in the first place. "What is it that you do here? or what are we expected to do if we are accepted?" he asked quietly, the faint smile of before fading as he focused on the present.

User ImageSo he was on his own, fair enough. Many adult metas came here alone, in fact is was more common than he had wished, but at least he could do his best to protect them. "We live." he stated simply with a smile. "You can do as you like, every meta is welcome here. I assure you my mission is a genuine one. I want to protect metas. That's all I've ever wanted." he spoke clearly, sincerity lined his smooth voice, a slight hint of pain, enough to indicate that he knew personally the hardships that metas faced. He led Ree into the main building and wandered to the front desk where a brown haired female meta with a medical mask on was sitting. She shot Rhun a harsh glance as he approach but softened slightly as she then noticed Ree enter behind him. Without saying a word, she picked up a clipboard and handed it to Rhun and walked away into the Headmaster's office and closed the door, not allowing a word in. Rhun chuckled lightly, "Don't mind her, she's just in a sour mood from watching over one of the orphaned children." he lowered his voice with a smile, "She's not very fond of kids." he explained further, finding is amusing but then cleared his throat and looked over the clipboard. "I would just need your name and to know what kind of extra accomodations you might need." he kept his eyes on the clipboard and flipped a page on it, making sure he hadn't missed anything.

"You can do as you like, every meta is welcome here. I assure you my mission is a genuine one. I want to protect metas. That's all I've ever wanted."

Those words were like a polished speech, said with the ease gained from repetition but not enough that they had lost their meaning to the person who said them.

Ree nodded quietly but was still skeptical. That was fine in theory but it wouldn't last long. Someone would mess it up for the others or the amount would out outpace the resources...actually were there even enough metas in the world to do that? if there weren't... then he could see why that would seem possible.

Following Rhun inside he turned his attention to the browned hair female meta, a flicker of curiosity passed his glowing eyes as he watched her head toward the office before turning his attention back to Rhun and taking the clipboard and pen. "Are there many orphaned children? or adults?" a flicker of realization made him hold his wings in tight... maybe his other parent was here? would he even know how to recognize them if he saw them?.

Shaking his head he focused on the paper and what it was asking him, reading carefully he added what was needed. "My name is Ree... but what do you mean by special accommodations?" he said looking at the question and blanking as he looked up.

User ImageRhun fought back a slight frown as he asked about the orphans. "At the moment, there are two children who don't have any parents. Though, with the state of things out there, I'm both surprised and saddened that there are more." his voice had softened as the implication that he knew that with the lack of orphaned children meant that many didn't survive in the vicious world that had been carved by war. He shook the thought, trying not to linger too long on it. "I'm unsure about orphaned adults, but I'm sure there is a few. Normally they don't discuss such things.. and I don't blame them." he answered, still soft, still sympathetic. As Ree focused on the papers, Rhun walked behind the desk and opened a draw, retrieving some keys as he listened. Ree announced his name and Rhun took note. It wasn't a name he recognized from the files, it was very likely he had never been here before and was born in the outside world. "Like medical accommodations, if you have disabilities.. I always ask. Not all illnesses are visible" he explained. "Once you are done with that, I can show you to where you will be staying.." he jingled the keys a bit with a smile.

A faint flush reached his face as he realized he misstep. He had meant to ask about the orphan children and other adults in general separately. Lowering his wings slightly he focused on the paper intently instead. Survival with no support at all... that was something he had never really had to worry about before. It did not mean he was unsympathetic, only that he never experienced what many of them did. Yes he got the glares and verbal insults in some cities but at the end of the day he was usually back somewhere safe. So the soft voice and the look of understanding Rhun gave did not click with him, it only made him feel guilty somehow.

His wings lowered a tiny bit more as Rhun explain about the accommodations, duh... of course. Just ...duh. He quickly placed a N/A right by it and returned the board. Nothing asked was anything he needed to lie about, at least that made him feel a little better. "Ah.. no. I don't need any special accommodations..." he shook his head, pausing midway when Rhun jingled the keys. He snapped his head up and focused on the keys, eyes dilating as he waited for them to move again.

User ImageRhun noticed Ree's eyes hone in on the keys and it clicked in his mind. "Ahh,.. sorry about that." he apologized with an embarrassed chuckle, concealing the keys back into his hand. "Let us go." he offered as he began to walk him back out the main building. He took a more leisurely route, pointing out the different buildings and their functions and then made his way made toward the adult housing district of the grounds. "I will be setting you up in a bedroom home in the adult housing district. There many other adult metas living there as well. So feel free to say hello if you like." he explained with a soft smile as he walked up to a small house and unlocked the door, motioning for Ree to step inside. The house was like a small cabin the size of a one bedroom apartment and was furnished with the basics like a bed and some living room furniture, though it looked like it no one had been there in a long while, it was upkept fairly well. Rhun waiting for Ree to adjust to the setting before holding out a gloved hand with the keys resting in his palm. "I hope you will feel right at home." he kept his slender eyes focused on Ree, looking for any signs of distress or uncomfort, "Do not hesitate to ask me any questions if you have any.."

Ree blinked and ruffled his feathers when the keys were hidden before realizing he wasn't supposed to be doing that here...now. Darn it darn it darn it, he raised one hand up to his face and brushed away a strand of hair as he felt his face heat up. Great start just...great. He was relieved to see that Rhun had already turned away and was leading the way toward the ..Adult complex?.

Following, his attention turned toward the buildings and their functions instead of focusing of the complete idiot he was moments before. When they reached the cabin he looked faintly surprised, he had assumed they lived inside one of the buildings maybe the most was getting a room and the worst would have been sharing...but not a cabin to himself. It spoke of ..something long term.

He stared quietly then shook his head as he turned to look at Rhun and the keys in his hand. Feel right at home... no he would miss his home, but he did have questions the only one burning in his mind was Why? Why all of this? it felt immaterial somehow as if it was just a pretty facade that hide something else.

Instead he took the keys and shook his head "I .... no. Just it seems to good to be true?" he said quietly, hoping he sounded sufficiently confused but there was no distress... wariness but it wasn't the same type or ..depth in this case as someone who needed it it to survive everyday.

Rhun's eyes narrowed at the comment. To good to be true. He half-sighed, "You know I can't guarantee absolute safety. That would be too good to be true. But I can guarantee I, as well as the staff here, will do everything in our power to make this a safe place for everyone. We deserve at least that, don't we?" he paused, maybe he had said a little too much, but somehow he felt that it was necessary. He could not keep promising that the sanctuary would be an absolute haven of safety. He smiled a bit, "Like I said, my intentions are genuine. So take that how you see fit. To some, this is the only place they have left to turn to. At least let it be a place of peace, as I see it." his smile widened slightly. "If there is nothing else you need, I'll leave you to adjust.." he voice was smooth and calm as he kept his eyes on Ree for the moment. So far he had been the second adult meta to come to the sanctuary with no prior history with the academy that this place once was. A thought that intrigued him but no further than a passing interest before dying back down.

"... to make this a safe place for everyone. We deserve at least that, don't we?"

Ree nodded quietly, it sounded sincere ad he was right.. they did need a place to feel safe in. Especially those that kept being picked up by research centers or scrapegoats or what ever else they tried to do to them. He may not have experienced it but he had read enough to know and it only made him feel more like a interloper being here instead of those that needed it.

Looking at the keys in his hand he closed his fist around it and looked up smiling faintly. "No one can really guarantee -that-, but a safe place..." he trailed off then shook his head " Thank you, I am good. I just need time to think " he said with a glance to the cabin then the surrounding area. Adjust, look around..think about what they were all really doing both here, the cities..the world.

Ree had stopped mid sentence that built off his statement about a safe place, that made him quirk his eyebrow slightly in curiousity but they continued on, switching subjects. Rhun dropped the thought, it wasn't for him to pry about such things, a lesson he now knew all too well. Time to think. Who was he to deny that, a lot of them need time. Not just to think. But that was a good place to start. He nodded in afirmation. "If you need anything at all, you can let Delilah, the girl in the office, or myself and we will do our best to help." he offered once more then bowed his head slightly then exited the cabin. Rhun walked the path back towards the main building, his mind too preoccupied to thank back on the encounter for now.

Ree nodded and looked back to the cabin, waiting as Rhun's foot steps finally faded from hearing. Only then did he let out his breath and looked down at the key in his hand again still feeling uneasy. The first step was done the rest should be easy if he kept out of the way and just watched. "....Well then.." he said quietly stepping inside and closing the door.
