Labyrinthite was less irritable than he'd been in the days since order had swarmed the Dark Kingdom though there was a restlessness that resided beneath his skin that he could not shake. It was annoying and he wanted a distraction. So, when the request to meet came from Wolfeite, the general did not think twice.
There was some babble about someone he ought to meet, but frankly he hadn't paid much attention to the information conveyed through the purple crystal he didn't care much for. The important thing was that there would be a distraction, something to get his mind off everything that had gone wrong and, perhaps, after Labyrinthite could take Wolfeite and make him spar.
He'd been keeping tabs on his wildest war pup who seemed to have an affinity for starting fights. It both pleased and worried him. Labyrinthite appreciated the talent for combat, something he prided himself in, but did not care for the wildness, the reckless behavior. It was troubling, but he could deal with it later.
It wasn't a problem. (Yet.)
So, the general arrived on scene at the location his lieutenant had requested in all of his terrifying glory. His long, dark cape billowed behind him with the hood drawn so that half of his face was obscured, though those eyes of liquid gold were still bright in contrast to the harsh shadows. The night was dark, the sky hardly more than inky blots in the sky dotted with barely twinkling lights and the dull glow of a street lamp.
The very one he was supposed stand beneath, or near at the very least.
It was eerie, a perfect horror film setting but Labyrinthite did not seem bothered. Instead he seemed almost amused, pleased, despite his otherwise stoic face.

"You," said Wolfeite, in a bored drawl, "talk too much."
This wasn't entirely true, but he was nothing if not disparaging in all of his comments towards the senshi. Not that Aue ever took offense at any of them (which he didn't), and, in fact, most of the time just snarked right back at him with some nasty comment or another.
It reminded Wolfeite forcibly of another certain someone, but he wasn't about to think too hard on that at present. All he knew was that this particular sour senshi could be put to good use, and Wolfeite fully intended to do something about that.
Starting with introducing him to Labyrinthite.
It was a carefully calculated move. Wolfeite wanted to use Aue to his advantage to get what he wanted, and to do that he would have to play the part of the dutiful soldier properly however best he could, even if that meant being...well, submissive.
It made his teeth clench just thinking about it. Wolfeite turned to look at Aue as they walked.
"Just up here," he said in a low, rough voice, and he could feel Labyrinthite's power signature around the corner. He led the senshi through the darkened streets and saw him, just up ahead, a figure in black, almost blending in with his surroundings.
Wolfeite let out a small hum.
"General," he said, with an incline of his head. "Aue, this is General Labyrinthite. General, this is Sailor Aue."
Even the word "sailor" sounded ridiculous spoken aloud.

"And you," Aue replied as he rolled his eyes, "can suck an egg." This was entirely true, but even though he'd responded in kind to Wolfeite's blustering, he took no offense. It was clear that the Lieutenant was nervous and kind of keyed up, that this meeting they were about to attend was very important to him. And even if they hadn't been about to meet Wolfeite's General, he wouldn't have taken offense - the guy's bark was a lot worse than his bite. Of course, Aue himself was somewhat trepidatious about this meeting - he wasn't proficient enough to take on some high-ranking Negaverse officer. Even from some distance away, he could feel Labyrinthite's aura, and it was clear that he'd be slaughtered if something went wrong. But it was a risk he'd decided to take for his own reasons, as much as he'd been able to tell the semi-feral Lieutenant at his side wanted him to take it. Aue was no one's pet. Or, as he might have said online, he was 'not your good senshi'. Not anyone's good anything, really. Too snarky for that. Wolfeite spoke again, but Aue stayed silent and told himself that there was little reason for his heart to be speeding up, or for his mouth to have gone dry. Ahead, the waiting General cut an imposing figure even as parts of him merged with the dark. The introductions were short, and he nodded to the General. "General. Good to meet you." Maybe. Hope it is. I'd really rather not die tonight. Perkele! He looks forboding...and kind of like an extra in American McGee's Alice..

Labyrinthite heard the curtails of the bickering, the fragmented parts of conversation that floated through the air but he wasn't focused on it because there were more pressing things at the forefront of his mind.
Such as the distinctly order aura that pulsed beneath his and what he assumed was his lieutenants.
It left a sour taste in his mouth, even before he saw the two men who's outfits were a stark contrast of each other's. The senshi dressed in whites and yellow while Wolfeite wore his reds and blacks. Labyrinthite could not hide his contempt for the White Mooner in his presence, but the shadows and his hood did it for him even if his eyes narrowed visibly.
"Wolfeite," the soldier greeted, a slight incline of his head when his gaze shifted from agent to senshi. He did not bother to hide the way he looked Aue up and down, very obviously evaluating him. "Senshi," he growled, word slipping from his mouth in a hiss that he did not intend. The man was being respectful enough, so far, and yet, Labyrinthite's aversion was evident.
He did not, clearly, care for any of the white moon. Knights might have received a tag bit more mercy from him than others but senshi did not. "I'll refrain judgement on this good meeting until it commences a bit more if you don't mind," he directed towards Aue, tone more level and calm than before. He'd slipped because he did not understand but it was a slip that he would not let repeat.
Not with Wolfeite here.
"Why did you bring him to me?" The simple answer would be corruption, but Labyrinthite was certain that was not the reason. He had been learning that with Wolfeite there was always something else.

Aue's answer was a roll of Wolfeite's eyes and a muffled, yet still audible snort from his throat. He had little doubt that this senshi would prove a valuable resource, if things could be worked out properly, but it was just a matter of taming the man.
And getting rid of that damned white uniform.
"Don't worry," said Wolfeite now, tone careless. "He'll understand why I've brought you to him."
Labyrinthite's hood was up over his head, casting most of his face into shadow. Wolfeite had stopped in front of him, and Aue, in spite of his ludicrous costume, knew to shut up properly as he made the introductions, his eyes sliding from one man to the other, gaze dark.
A frisson of annoyance at the tone ran through him, but Wolfeite tamped down on it, played the part of the dutiful lieutenant by inclining his head towards his general in a gesture of respect and understanding - even if he did not feel either of those things.
"He's not like the other White Moon," Wolfeite said, lip curling with disgust at the mere mention of them. "He finds them as ridiculous as I do, and could prove beneficial to us."

Wolfeite would have quite the task ahead of him if he planned to try taming the not-quite White Moon senshi...but it could be done. With skill. Aue stood through Labyrinthite's perusal and growling, seeming mostly unaffected by the General's verbal ire towards him even though it sent a ripple of fear through his guts. He wasn't stupid, despite the pink accents Labyrinthite was a General of the Negaverse and could very easily force him into corruption (which he didn't currently want for personal reasons) or just flat out kill him. Without even breaking a sweat. Aue would take whatever was dished to him - that was part of the risk he'd decided to take - but it didn't mean he was going to push his luck. "That's your right, General." Wolfeite was telling the higher ranking officer that Aue wasn't like other White Moon guys, it seemed to only get a skeptical narrowing of the eyes but he supposed that too would need proof. "This whole magical boy thing isn't really my style...and I have no interest in blindly following the Order. They're disorganized as ********, bicker all the goddamn time, and are - as Wolfeite said - ridiculous. I'd rather not align myself with morons that can't put their egos aside for ten minutes." That single meeting with Caedus he'd attended had basically soured him on the White Moon...and Aue hadn't been overly attached to it from the start.

Labyrinthite's first thought was naturally, what is he doing conversing with the white moon because both of the chaos inflicted were aggressors who preferred combat to talking. The general did not, however, say as much. It was not the time nor the place and if the senshi, Aue as Wolfeite had called him, could prove to be useful then his time wouldn't be wasted.
"Their advantage has always been numbers, which does little against an organized force."
There had always been internal bickering and squabbling whenever Order gathered in large quantities. The Negaverse, for all it's faults, tended to function as a well oiled machine when the right soldiers were present. "If it's not your style why bother...dressing up?" His gaze raked across the white and yellow Aue wore. It was his understanding that there would be no one knocking on your front door if you refused to power up on the White Moon side but soldiers that went inactive, without a damn good reason? They were hunted and pulled back into the fray.
But that wasn't important right now. The man with the pink fauxhawk and whiskey-colored eyes was curious as to what this senshi thought he had to offer. His views on the moon court were interesting, at least, potentially exploitable. Of course, there was a ripe starseed that could be altered and twisted if he wanted, but now was not the time. The general could be patient.
He lifted his eyes to meet Aue's, head tilted slightly as though he were interested in the brunet and maybe he was. Mildly. "What is your sphere Sailor Aue?" That was an important thing to know, if only to provide him with some sort of leverage. "What do you hope to gain? You'd look better in black." Senshi always looked better in black. There was a beat and then, "what can you offer us, me?"

He knew it was a risk, bringing Aue to Labyrinthite; Wolfeite was usually a fight first, ask questions later agent, craving the thrill of a good fight - but something about Aue had made him talk first. The result was that he could possibly have a good recruit.
Not for Labyrinthite, but for himself. Someone he could use, someone he could mold to his own will. Bringing him to Labyrinthite had been a calculated decision, and it gave the illusion of being an obedient dog. That was what the general wanted, after all, wasn't it?
He had to play his cards just right to get what it was that he wanted.
Wolfeite remained silent as the two of them spoke, tucking his hands together against the small of his back.
Just a little longer, he thought, eyes going from Labyrinthite to Aue and back again.
Just a little more.

Clearly, the General knew his enemy. Good. Aue thought, narrowing his eyes not at Labyrinthite or his words, but more at the thought that if the White Moon had even a shred of the discipline the Negaverse (seriously, who the <********> named this s**t?) then they could probably overwhelm it and all this noise would be over. "It's like an itch under the skin, almost. Whatever bullshit that ******** cat pulled to 'awaken' me, it's now a compulsion. I do it as seldom as possible because I have a ******** life to live...but not doing it at all ends up making me restless and irritable." And I'm already that way, so it's impossible. Aue glanced at Wolfeite briefly, noting the stiff set of his body - still dangerous, fine, he would continue to work with that - and then put his attention fully on Labyrinthite again, meeting the other man's imposing gaze directly without flinching. What's my sphere? Perkele! It's obvious - or is this some test. Bah, fine. "Lemons." How and why there would need to be a senshi of lemons he would never know, but there it was and he, dressed like the reject from some really awful high school stage play, was the patron ******** senshi of a really stupid sphere. "The magic's pretty effective, lame as it all sounds." Difficult questions from the professional - Aue could see the glaring differences between a Lieutenant and a General - and he thought a moment, not wanting to spit out a rushed answer that wasn't true. "Security. I'm a practical person. The Order isn't practical. As for what I can offer, information. Haven't you wanted to know how they managed to attack your stronghold?" While Aue hadn't been there for the suicidal mission, he'd heard about it from Ash - the all-call text message she'd sent and later a bit more. "It was a disaster, wasn't it? Both sides took heavy losses and then the Order winked right the ******** on out. I was around for the first meeting that set this up." Slowly a wide smile spread across Aue's face, it was a shark's smile and managed also to express derision. "The meetings were disasters too. A princess and a prince going back and forth with a walking corpse, being bitchy and waving their dicks around. Crystals that siphon energy like you guys do...and the ********, Caedus, said he came from Negaspace." More details could come if any of that interested American McGee's escapee General.

Wolfeite and Labyrinthite hadn't known each other for long, but it'd been long enough. The lieutenant had a lot of potential - both good and bad. He could, if he wanted, be an exemplary solider because of his raw potential but Wolfeite could also easily slip into one of those soldiers who went AWOL because he thought he was better than the organization he served.
In truth, Labyrinthite hoped that he would not have to teach the man otherwise but, as always, would do what he needed to.
"The call doesn't lesson when you change sides," he warned, a single arch brow arching. Labyrinthite felt chaos crawling beneath his skin whenever he was Chase and not the general, something that worsened the more he attempted to ignore it.
Some days, the guise of General Labyrinthite felt more right than the guise of Chase Black.
Lemons, the senshi grumble and the shoulder pads made a little more sense to Labyrinthite.
"Is it? Use it. Now," he gaze flicked to the lieutenant standing to the side. "On him." Perhaps a harsh thing to do to one of his own, but better Wolfeite than Labyrinthite. Not when the general needed to be able to observe, calculate the advantages.
"Information is useful. There was a man - creature." He'd received some information from the senshi he'd cornered after the castle had been attacked. If Aue could give him more and then some, perhaps he'd have reason to keep the bulkier man alive.
He'd never thought about using one of Order's own against them, but with an opportunity dangling itself in front of him like now, well -
It would be hard to pass up. "We can discuss it in depth later, I'd rather see what you're capable of magic wise."

Too bad. Aue thought about it and then shrugged, "That's unfortunate." But it just made a further reason why he should dislike the White Moon as they called it: they'd done this to him. Or perhaps that was being a bit unkind, it wasn't as though they'd sought him out, it had been much of an accident when Ash had come across and awakened him. Still/"Now." Not quite a question, but there was enough uptilt at the end of the syllable to give it a questioning edge. Labyrinthite wanted him to use his magic on Wolfeite, right then and there. Upon reflection, it made sense that he would - even if Aue hadn't said anything about it being something like useful. Before he could agree to casting his magic, the General spoke again and Aue nodded that he was correct. "Yes, he called himself Caedus. Looked like a walking corpse under a giant cloak." That was all he gave further for the moment, since he was being directed - once again - to cast on Wolfeite. "Sure," He said to Labyrinthite before taking a few steps away from the intimidating General; to his soon-to-be-victim, Aue gestured a bit, "Watch your eyes." More than that, no warning was given; the brunet simply called for his magic while reaching up, and flung what appeared to be a bunch of lemon blossoms that broke apart and flew towards the dark-clad Lieutenant, cutting and briefly obscuring him from view Aue's view. The rest, well, he was trying to keep the magic from spreading and hitting Labyrinthite (though it likely would have done very little damage to him), but no doubt some of the petals would end up near him, perhaps near enough to cut or just stick to his clothes before dissolving. kuropeco Aue Petal Flurry :: Aue summons a flurry of lemon blossoms that burst apart, petals flying at the enemy to cut (a la lots of tiny paper cuts) and then dissolve into lemon juice, which stings like a biatch in the fresh petal-cuts. The burning/stinging effect lasts for 20 seconds and is most effective if it hits the victim's eyes. :>

Beneath the mask he wore, a satisfied smirk had crossed Wolfeite's face. Aue was playing all the right cards, especially in regards to giving Labyrinthite information about what had happened in Negaspace with the vile intrusion of the White Moon. Catering to what the general wanted was important, after all.
Wolfeite was pleased.
What was not pleasing was what followed.
He only had a few seconds warning before Aue cast his magic, and Wolfeite felt it shiver through the air towards him. A low snarl escaped him, and there was a sharp, stinging sensation that cut across his face, and he threw up his hands instinctively to try and block out the blossoms, but his reaction was delayed.
A growl of anger and pain ripped from his throat, and Wolfeite bent over, his eyes watering as he staggered, digging the heel of his hand into his injured eye.

"We can continue discussing that later," Labyrinthite said curtly, noting the description and name for stranger who slipped from the rift. He would have to do recon between interrogating White Moon and searching through what information the database might have. If Laurelite survived her burns, perhaps he would seek her out and inquire.
He needed to know how much of a threat this Caedus man.
But there were more pressing things, like a willing double agent that he didn't have to strong arm. Or relinquish in to the arms of Order and risk losing entirely. Aue seemed like a better prospect, someone he wanted to keep close, the longer he thought about it.
He would need to get the man away from Wolfeite later.
What Labyrinthite wanted, he often got and he was certain that Aue would be one of those things.
The general stepped backward when the warning came though he simply stood strong, petals cutting at his cloak and jacket but not reaching his skin. Wolfeite however faired poorly and it made Labyrinthite grin - a wide, sharp sharktooth grin.
"Do you know how many uses it has?" He liked to know if only to better implement their uses. Or, if things went south, he wanted to know how many times it could be used against him before it was exhausted.
His attention shifted from Aue to Wolfeite, glancing over the wounds to assess damage. "Next closer range seems better, potentially more damaging."

Once Wolfeite had been attacked and Aue's magic dissipated, he looked over to see Labyrinthite, noting the General's shark-like grin with some small bit of satisfaction. On one hand, he'd just knowingly attacked the lieutenant he'd come to have a grudging respect for...and on the other, he'd earned some points with a general. "Two comfortably, three if I'm desperate enough to accept exhaustion and possible faint." Aue had actually checked this himself, wanting to know the limits of the strange magic he'd been imbued with. It had been kind of stupid, but he'd done it and could now say with confidence that he knew his magic's limits. "Yeah, it does better right in the face too, but it'll go pretty far. I've used it to kill those dust monsters you guys favor." Since it was trying to eat him, he obliged the creature to death. Aue unfastened his sash and offered it to Wolfeite - it would be hard for the man to get the stinging citric acid out of his face with cloth and skin hit by it. "Use this."

Wolfeite let out a low string of curses, half muffled by his kerchief, dark eyes glinting like chips of obsidian as he raised his face. They were still watering and a little reddened, stinging painfully, and he leveled a glare at Aue, gloved fingers curling against his palm in a fist.
He did not appreciate being the recipient of a demonstration. Labyrinthite's little tactic rankled him, but Wolfeite reigned in the anger and let it smooth over him, let it course through his veins and settle there instead of having it explode outwards instead.
Not yet, he thought irritably, not yet. I have to hold onto this facade a little longer.
Once he left this place, he'd go and find Pasi to take out his aggression on, but for now Wolfeite merely straightened, ignoring Labyrinthite's self satisfied, sharp grin and reaching out to snatch the sash from Aue's fingers. It was a rather graceless move, but Wolfeite pressed it to his face, wiping away the remnants of acid from his eyes.
It helped, a little, though the annoyance was still there.
